sir_n i_o will_v not_o plead_v my_o faith_n as_o any_o merit_n but_o only_o plead_v the_o promise_n god_n be_v please_v to_o make_v to_o my_o faith_n and_o rely_v on_o that_o word_n now_o that_o i_o motive_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n to_o persuade_v i_o to_o believe_v how_o can_v it_o be_v a_o motive_n to_o faith_n if_o i_o be_v not_o to_o expect_v it_o upon_o believe_v and_o if_o i_o be_v to_o expect_v it_o before_o i_o believe_v in_o case_n that_o i_o will_v believe_v why_o may_v not_o i_o expect_v it_o now_o that_o i_o do_v believe_v i_o know_v not_o what_o answer_n mr._n m._n will_v make_v unless_o 1._o it_o be_v something_o do_v by_o man_n or_o 2._o god_n will_v be_v still_o at_o liberty_n to_o perform_v or_o not_o perform_v the_o benefit_n though_o he_o do_v promise_v it_o or_o the_o three_o be_v a_o weak_a foppery_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o dishonour_n to_o god_n to_o give_v the_o benefit_n in_o the_o way_n he_o choose_v to_o use_v it_o as_o a_o motive_n to_o the_o duty_n especial_o when_o as_o mr._n m._n ow_v it_o be_v by_o the_o gospel-word_n that_o god_n put_v this_o righteousness_n on_o we_o which_o be_v the_o very_a same_o word_n whereby_o he_o urge_v this_o benefit_n as_o a_o motive_n to_o man_n believe_v if_o i_o again_o ask_v why_o mr._n m._n will_v by_o this_o motive_n thus_o persuade_v sinner_n to_o believe_v he_o will_v i_o hope_v say_v this_o be_v the_o way_n god_n have_v ordain_v to_o convert_v they_o to_o the_o faith_n but_o why_o dare_v he_o preach_v thus_o when_o it_o imply_v what_o he_o call_v a_o damn_v error_n or_o else_o it_o be_v a_o mere_a mockery_n i_o will_v answer_v for_o he_o he_o have_v a_o mind_n to_o venture_v a_o contradiction_n rather_o than_o be_v whole_o useless_a to_o those_o people_n who_o he_o design_v to_o frighten_v from_o the_o ministry_n of_o other_o as_o damnable_a that_o he_o and_o his_o party_n may_v be_v more_o considerable_a reader_n will_v thou_o know_v whence_o come_v this_o confusion_n i_o will_v tell_v thou_o it_o be_v because_o they_o consider_v not_o 1._o that_o though_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o a_o law_n wherein_o govern_v justice_n display_v itself_o in_o the_o adjustment_n of_o benefit_n to_o the_o duty_n yet_o therein_o there_o be_v a_o govern_v authority_n in_o a_o way_n of_o grace_n suitable_a to_o the_o state_n of_o man_n in_o the_o dispense_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o christ_n death_n 2._o that_o a_o reward_n of_o grace_n be_v quite_o another_o thing_n than_o a_o reward_n of_o debt_n 3._o that_o all_o gospel-benefit_n be_v give_v in_o christ_n right_a and_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o his_o righteousness_n apply_v to_o all_o that_o partake_v of_o they_o 4._o that_o all_o gospel-precept_n and_o promise_n do_v authoritative_o appoint_v and_o describe_v the_o person_n that_o be_v partaker_n of_o benefit_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o christ_n righteousness_n but_o not_o their_o own_o and_o not_o put_v man_n on_o purchase_v these_o benefit_n 5._o yet_o these_o do_v full_o distinguish_v they_o that_o shall_v partake_v of_o the_o benefit_n from_o other_o that_o shall_v not_o partake_v of_o they_o the_o gospel_n do_v hereby_o fix_v a_o
