those_o thing_n which_o make_v more_o to_o the_o stablish_n of_o hypocrisy_n than_o to_o the_o set_v forth_o of_o true_a repentance_n for_o that_o which_o the_o text_n say_v they_o believe_v in_o the_o lord_n they_o covert_o omit_v and_o take_v only_o for_o their_o purpose_n fast_v and_o sackcloth_n and_o persuade_v themselves_o that_o they_o preach_v true_a repentance_n when_o they_o urge_v the_o church_n to_o fast_v certain_a day_n and_o to_o go_v woolwarde_a without_o linen_n for_o they_o think_v that_o by_o eat_v of_o bread_n only_o and_o by_o drink_v water_n &_o by_o go_v woolwarde_o their_o sin_n be_v do_v away_o before_o god_n and_o that_o these_o be_v merit_n for_o the_o which_o god_n do_v omit_v the_o fault_n and_o punishment_n of_o sin_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o true_a fruit_n of_o faith_n and_o repentance_n but_o this_o place_n contain_v a_o manifest_a and_o plain_a doctrine_n of_o true_a repentance_n wherefore_o let_v we_o omit_v the_o dream_n of_o monk_n and_o learn_v out_o of_o this_o place_n true_a repentance_n which_o god_n regard_v and_o which_o save_v and_o deliver_v we_o in_o extreme_a peril_n and_o first_o of_o all_o before_o we_o come_v to_o the_o explication_n of_o repentance_n we_o must_v know_v that_o the_o repentance_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a in_o the_o church_n but_o of_o great_a force_n before_o god_n obtain_v for_o we_o the_o true_a and_o everlasting_a salvation_n heretic_n there_o be_v sometime_o certain_a heretic_n call_v novation_n which_o leave_v to_o the_o sinner_n after_o he_o be_v baptize_v and_o have_v receive_v once_o remission_n of_o his_o sin_n no_o place_n of_o repentance_n but_o the_o error_n of_o these_o man_n be_v manifest_o refute_v by_o many_o evident_a testimony_n of_o scripture_n 3._o as_o in_o the_o third_o of_o hieremie_n where_o the_o lord_n speak_v to_o the_o people_n thus_o common_o when_o a_o man_n put_v away_o his_o wife_n and_o she_o go_v from_o he_o and_o marry_v with_o another_o than_o that_o god_n without_o respect_n of_o person_n receive_v those_o that_o true_o repent_v although_o they_o be_v uncircumcised_a will_v say_v by_o and_o by_o what_o avail_v circumcision_n what_o profit_n shall_v the_o law_n of_o moses_n bring_v unto_o we_o when_o these_o be_v ethnic_n be_v receive_v without_o circumcision_n and_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n into_o god_n favour_n ionas_n judge_v not_o the_o condition_n of_o christ_n namely_o that_o he_o pertain_v to_o all_o nation_n which_o by_o faith_n in_o he_o repent_v they_o of_o their_o sin_n therefore_o let_v we_o not_o be_v proud_a
