and_o for_o christ_n that_o the_o partaker_n of_o these_o suffering_n be_v coheir_n of_o glory_n with_o christ_n if_o we_o suffer_v thus_o with_o he_o we_o shall_v also_o be_v glorify_v with_o he_o if_o we_o die_v with_o he_o we_o shall_v live_v with_o he_o for_o ever_o 3._o the_o actual_a improvement_n of_o this_o conformity_n arm_v yourselves_o with_o the_o same_o mind_n or_o thought_n of_o though_o they_o intend_v not_o his_o quarrel_n he_o mean_v it_o himself_o set_v they_o to_o lash_v one_o another_o as_o the_o wicked_a profess_v their_o combine_a enmity_n against_o the_o child_n of_o god_n yet_o they_o be_v not_o always_o at_o peace_n among_o themselves_o they_o often_o revile_v and_o desame_a each_o other_o so_o it_o be_v hold_v up_o on_o both_o side_n whereas_o the_o godly_a can_v hold_v they_o game_n in_o that_o be_v like_o their_o lord_n who_o when_o he_o be_v revile_v revile_v not_o again_o beside_o although_o the_o ungodly_a flourish_n at_o sometime_o yet_o they_o have_v their_o day_n of_o suffering_n be_v subject_a to_o the_o common_a misery_n of_o the_o life_n of_o man_n and_o the_o common_a calamity_n of_o evil_a time_n the_o sword_n and_o pestilence_n and_o such_o like_a public_a judgement_n now_o in_o what_o kind_n soever_o it_o be_v that_o they_o suffer_v they_o be_v at_o a_o great_a disadvantage_n compare_v with_o the_o godly_a in_o their_o suffering_n here_o impure_a conscience_n may_v lie_v sleep_v while_o they_o be_v at_o ease_n themselves_o but_o when_o any_o great_a trouble_n come_v and_o shake_v they_o then_o ready_o the_o conscience_n begin_v to_o awake_v and_o bustle_n and_o prove_v more_o grievous_a to_o they_o than_o all_o that_o come_v on_o they_o from_o without_o when_o they_o remember_v their_o despise_v the_o way_n of_o god_n neglect_v he_o and_o holy_a thing_n whence_o they_o be_v convince_v how_o that_o comfort_n may_v be_v reap_v in_o these_o day_n of_o distress_n this_o cut_n and_o gall_v they_o most_o look_v back_o at_o their_o licentious_a profane_a way_n each_o of_o they_o strike_v to_o the_o heart_n as_o the_o apostle_n call_v sin_n the_o sting_n of_o death_n so_o be_v it_o of_o all_o suffering_n and_o the_o sting_n that_o strike_v deep_a into_o the_o very_a soul_n juv._n no_o stripe_n like_o those_o that_o be_v secret_o give_v by_o a_o accuse_a conscience_n a_o sad_a condition_n to_o have_v from_o thence_o the_o great_a anguish_n where_o the_o most_o comfort_n shall_v be_v expect_v to_o have_v thick_a darkness_n whence_o they_o shall_v look_v for_o most_o light_a man_n that_o have_v evil_a conscience_n love_v not_o to_o be_v with_o they_o be_v not_o much_o with_o themselves_o as_o st._n augustine_n compare_v they_o to_o such_o as_o have_v shrewd_a wife_n love_v not_o to_o be_v at_o home_o but_o yet_o outward_a distress_n set_v a_o man_n inward_a as_o foul_a weather_n drive_v he_o home_o and_o there_o where_o he_o shall_v find_v comfort_n he_o be_v meet_v with_o such_o accusation_n as_o be_v like_o a_o continual_a drop_n as_o solomon_n speak_v of_o a_o contentious_a woman_n it_o be_v a_o most_o wretched_a estate_n to_o live_v under_o suffering_n or_o affliction_n of_o any_o kind_n and_o a_o stranger_n to_o god_n then_o a_o man_n have_v god_n and_o his_o conscience_n against_o he_o that_o shall_v be_v his_o solace_n in_o time_n of_o distress_n be_v knock_v off_o from_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o world_n whereon_o he_o rest_v and_o have_v no_o provision_n of_o spiritual_a comfort_n within_o nor_o expectation_n from_o above_o but_o the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o their_o suffering_n especial_o such_o as_o be_v for_o god_n can_v retire_v themselves_o inward_o and_o rejoice_v in_o the_o testimony_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n yea_o the_o possession_n of_o christ_n dwell_v within_o they_o all_o the_o trouble_n that_o befall_v they_o be_v but_o as_o the_o rattle_a of_o hail_n upon_o the_o tile_n of_o the_o house_n to_o a_o man_n that_o be_v sit_v within_o a_o warm_a room_n at_o a_o rich_a banquet_n such_o be_v a_o good_a conscience_n a_o feast_n yea_o a_o continual_a feast_n the_o believer_n look_v on_o his_o christ_n and_o in_o he_o read_v his_o deliverance_n from_o condemnation_n and_o that_o be_v a_o strong_a comfort_n a_o cordial_n that_o keep_v he_o from_o faint_v in_o the_o great_a distress_n the_o conscience_n give_v this_o testimony_n that_o sin_n be_v forgive_v raise_v the_o soul_n above_o inward_a suffering_n tell_v the_o christian_a of_o loss_n of_o good_n or_o liberty_n or_o friend_n or_o life_n he_o answer_v all_o with_o this_o christ_n be_v i_o and_o my_o sin_n be_v pardon_v that_o be_v enough_o for_o i_o what_o will_v i_o not_o have_v suffer_v to_o have_v be_v deliver_v from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n if_o any_o suffering_n of_o i_o in_o this_o world_n can_v have_v do_v that_o now_o that_o be_v do_v to_o my_o hand_n all_o other_o suffering_n be_v light_a they_o be_v light_n and_o but_o for_o a_o moment_n one_o thought_n of_o eternity_n drown_v the_o whole_a time_n the_o world_n endurance_n which_o be_v but_o as_o one_o instant_a or_o twinkle_n of_o a_o eye_n betwixt_o eternity_n before_o and_o eternity_n after_o how_o much_o less_o be_v any_o short_a life_n and_o a_o small_a part_n that_o be_v spend_v in_o suffering_n though_o it_o be_v all_o suffering_n without_o interruption_n which_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o when_o i_o look_v forward_o to_o the_o crown_n all_o vanish_v and_o i_o think_v it_o less_o than_o nothing_o now_o these_o thing_n the_o good_a conscience_n speak_v to_o the_o christian_a in_o his_o suffering_n therefore_o certain_o his_o choice_n be_v best_a that_o provide_v it_o
