doct._n 1._o christ_n servant_n be_v in_o danger_n to_o minish_v their_o testimony_n concern_v christ_n truth_n for_o fear_n of_o man_n therefore_o be_v they_o warn_v not_o to_o fear_v they_o 2._o albeit_o the_o holiness_n and_o innocency_n of_o christ_n servant_n be_v overcloud_v and_o bear_v down_o for_o a_o time_n by_o scandalous_a speech_n of_o persecuter_n and_o they_o esteem_v no_o better_a than_o beelzebub_n yet_o shall_v it_o be_v bring_v forth_o to_o light_n in_o god_n time_n for_o our_o lord_n have_v say_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o cover_v that_o shall_v not_o be_v reveal_v nor_o secret_a which_o shall_v not_o be_v know_v thus_o may_v this_o general_a sentence_n serve_v the_o purpose_n in_o this_o place_n 3._o because_o at_o last_o the_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v break_v forth_o and_o overcome_v all_o obstacle_n therefore_o minister_n shall_v bold_o preach_v christ_n truth_n and_o thus_o also_o do_v this_o general_a sentence_n serve_v christ_n intent_n as_o the_o next_o verse_n make_v it_o plain_a vers._n 27._o what_o i_o tell_v you_o in_o darkness_n that_o speak_v you_o in_o light_n and_o what_o you_o hear_v in_o the_o ear_n that_o preach_v you_o upon_o the_o house_n top_n christ_n command_v his_o apostle_n to_o publish_v as_o open_o as_o they_o can_v whatsoever_o he_o shall_v reveal_v unto_o they_o in_o any_o manner_n of_o and_o the_o trial_n of_o all_o who_o shall_v hear_v of_o it_o and_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v avow_v open_o for_o he_o say_v what_o i_o tell_v you_o in_o darkness_n that_o speak_v you_o in_o light_n and_o what_o you_o hear_v in_o the_o care_n that_o preach_v on_o the_o house_n top_n ver._n 28._o and_o fear_v not_o they_o which_o kill_v the_o body_n but_o be_v not_o able_a to_o kill_v the_o soul_n but_o rather_o fear_v he_o which_o be_v able_a to_o destroy_v both_o soul_n and_o body_n in_o hell_n the_o nine_o reason_n you_o must_v fear_v i_o who_o be_o able_a to_o kill_v both_o soul_n and_o body_n therefore_o fear_v not_o man_n who_o can_v harm_v you_o so_o much_o doct._n 1._o plain_a and_o faithful_a preach_v of_o christ_n truth_n may_v ready_o be_v meet_v with_o persecution_n and_o hazard_v of_o life_n and_o a_o man_n must_v be_v master_n of_o death_n and_o deliver_v of_o the_o fear_n not_o only_o of_o small_a loss_n but_o even_o of_o the_o loss_n of_o life_n also_o if_o he_o will_v preach_v all_o christ_n truth_n as_o he_o shall_v therefore_o say_v christ_n fear_v not_o they_o which_o kill_v the_o body_n 2._o all_o that_o man_n can_v do_v against_o a_o faithful_a witness_n of_o christ_n truth_n be_v to_o take_v the_o life_n of_o the_o body_n they_o can_v reach_v to_o the_o soul_n to_o destroy_v it_o or_o to_o take_v away_o from_o it_o righteousness_n or_o peace_n or_o joy_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o kill_v the_o soul_n say_v he_o 3._o the_o true_a remedy_n of_o all_o base_a fear_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o of_o death_n be_v the_o true_a fear_n of_o god_n therefore_o say_v he_o fear_v he_o rather_o which_o be_v able_a to_o destroy_v soul_n and_o body_n in_o hell_n 4._o if_o a_o man_n suppress_v the_o testimony_n which_o he_o shall_v give_v to_o christ_n for_o fear_n of_o be_v kill_v by_o man_n he_o fall_v in_o the_o danger_n of_o be_v cast_v in_o hell_n and_o lose_v soul_n and_o body_n this_o be_v import_v in_o the_o say_n fear_v he_o which_o be_v able_a to_o destroy_v soul_n and_o body_n in_o hell_n vers._n 29._o be_v not_o two_o sparrow_n sell_v for_o a_o farthing_n and_o one_o of_o they_o shall_v not_o fall_v on_o the_o ground_n without_o your_o father_n 30._o but_o the_o very_a hair_n of_o your_o head_n be_v all_o number_v 31._o fear_v you_o not_o therefore_o you_o be_v of_o more_o generation_n of_o viper_n the_o worst_a sort_n of_o adder_n who_o be_v evil_a can_v not_o speak_v good_a and_o have_v their_o heart_n full_a of_o poison_n can_v not_o but_o speak_v as_o their_o heart_n dyte_v unto_o they_o hence_o learn_v 1._o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o unrenewed_a man_n to_o speak_v good_a far_o more_o impossible_a to_o do_v good_a for_o how_o can_v you_o that_o be_v evil_a speak_v good_a say_v he_o 2._o man_n who_o glory_n in_o their_o forebear_n as_o these_o man_n do_v in_o abraham_n isaac_n and_o jacob_n and_o do_v not_o follow_v their_o footstep_n be_v in_o god_n account_n to_o be_v father_v on_o satan_n and_o be_v the_o viperous_a brood_n of_o his_o child_n therefore_o just_o do_v our_o lord_n call_v these_o man_n generation_n of_o viper_n a_o three_o reason_n because_o the_o overflow_a of_o their_o heart_n in_o blasphemous_a word_n do_v prove_v they_o to_o be_v wicked_a blasphemer_n doct._n 1._o the_o heart_n be_v the_o fountain_n of_o a_o man_n word_n and_o work_n as_o it_o be_v set_v so_o be_v the_o current_n of_o a_o man_n word_n and_o work_n good_a or_o evil_n for_o out_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o mouth_n speak_v 2._o whensoever_o evil_a do_v break_v forth_o in_o a_o man_n word_n for_o that_o time_n at_o least_o evil_a abound_v in_o the_o heart_n for_o out_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o the_o heart_n the_o mouth_n speak_v ver._n 35._o a_o good_a man_n out_o of_o the_o treasure_n of_o his_o heart_n bring_v forth_o good_a thing_n and_o a_o evil_a man_n out_o of_o the_o evil_a treasure_n bring_v forth_o evil_a thing_n a_o four_o reason_n prove_v they_o to_o be_v wicked_a be_v because_o they_o do_v delight_n to_o lay_v up_o wickedness_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o bring_v forth_o ill_o out_o of_o their_o heart_n doct._n whether_o a_o man_n be_v renew_v and_o a_o good_a man_n or_o unrenewed_a and_o a_o evil_a man_n it_o may_v be_v know_v by_o the_o stuff_n which_o delibrate_o he_o lay_v up_o in_o his_o heart_n and_o deliberate_o bring_v forth_o out_o of_o his_o heart_n for_o if_o it_o be_v a_o good_a treasure_n he_o be_v a_o good_a man_n if_o it_o be_v a_o evil_a treasure_n he_o be_v a_o evil_a man_n for_o here_o such_o as_o the_o man_n be_v such_o be_v his_o treasure_n for_o a_o good_a man_n out_o of_o the_o good_a treasure_n and_o a_o evil_a man_n of_o the_o evil_a treasure_n of_o his_o heart_n bring_v forth_o etc._n etc._n ver._n 36._o but_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o that_o every_o idle_a word_n that_o man_n shall_v speak_v they_o shall_v give_v account_n thereof_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n thus_o christ_n have_v remove_v the_o pretext_n and_o conceit_n of_o the_o pharisee_n holiness_n now_o he_o remove_v the_o conceit_n of_o the_o smallness_n of_o their_o sin_n christ_n wherein_o learn_v 1._o that_o christ_n be_v exercise_v with_o divers_a sort_n of_o temptation_n by_o his_o adversary_n some_o open_o blaspheme_v some_o subtle_o insinuate_a as_o if_o they_o will_v deal_v reasonable_o with_o he_o master_n say_v these_o man_n we_o will_v see_v a_o sight_n as_o if_o they_o never_o have_v see_v any_o of_o his_o miracle_n before_o or_o as_o if_o upon_o the_o do_n of_o some_o miracle_n they_o mind_v to_o believe_v in_o he_o 2._o christ_n miracle_n be_v sufficient_a to_o clear_v that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n for_o even_o his_o enemy_n can_v crave_v no_o more_o but_o to_o have_v a_o sign_n for_o say_v they_o we_o will_v see_v a_o sign_n from_o thou_o 3._o obstinate_a unbeliever_n will_v not_o be_v satisfy_v with_o any_o of_o god_n word_n or_o work_n but_o still_o will_v crave_v new_a one_o as_o these_o man_n after_o number_n of_o sign_n crave_v yet_o a_o sign_n 4._o misbeliever_n be_v also_o limitator_n of_o the_o holy_a one_o of_o israel_n nothing_o will_v satisfy_v these_o man_n but_o a_o sign_n at_o their_o direction_n we_o desire_v to_o see_v a_o sign_n say_v they_o ver._n 39_o but_o he_o answer_v and_o say_v to_o they_o a_o evil_a and_o adulterous_a generation_n seek_v after_o a_o sign_n and_o there_o shall_v no_o sign_n be_v give_v to_o it_o but_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o prophet_n jonas_n 40_o for_o as_o jonas_n be_v three_o day_n and_o three_o night_n in_o the_o whale_n belly_n so_o shall_v the_o son_n of_o man_n be_v three_o day_n and_o three_o night_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o earth_n our_o lord_n refuse_v to_o give_v they_o any_o sign_n save_o this_o that_o after_o they_o have_v kill_v he_o he_o shall_v rise_v from_o the_o dead_a as_o ionas_n come_v out_o of_o the_o whale_n belly_n and_o so_o they_o will_v one_o to_o another_o can_v agree_v to_o oppose_v christ_n for_o the_o pharisee_n and_o sadducee_n here_o do_v join_v against_o christ_n though_o they_o be_v otherwise_o adversary_n one_o to_o unto_o they_o when_o it_o be_v evening_n you_o say_v it_o will_v he_o fair_a weather_n for_o the_o sky_n be_v red_a 3._o and_o in_o the_o morning_n it_o will_v be_v foul_a weather_n to_o day_n for_o the_o sky_n be_v red_a and_o lower_a o_o you_o hypocrite_n you_o can_v discern_v the_o face_n of_o the_o sky_n but_o can_v you_o not_o discern_v the_o sign_n of_o the_o time_n 4._o a_o wicked_a and_o adulterous_a generation_n seek_v after_o a_o sign_n and_o there_o shall_v no_o sign_n be_v give_v they_o but_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o prophet_n jonas_n and_o be_v leave_v they_o and_o depart_v because_o christ_n doctrine_n and_o miracle_n do_v prove_v that_o the_o messiah_n be_v come_v and_o the_o time_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o grace_n therefore_o he_o reprove_v they_o for_o not_o the_o sky_n of_o foul_a or_o fair_a weather_n approach_v therefore_o be_v they_o worthy_a to_o be_v blame_v who_o do_v not_o observe_v the_o time_n for_o can_v that_o not_o discern_v the_o sign_n of_o the_o time_n say_v christ._n 2._o hypocrite_n and_o man_n in_o nature_n be_v able_a to_o discern_v of_o natural_a thing_n but_o not_o of_o spiritual_a thus_o christ_n tax_v the_o pharisee_n say_v you_o can_v discern_v the_o sign_n of_o the_o sky_n but_o not_o the_o time_n of_o grace_n 3._o such_o as_o set_v not_o their_o heart_n on_o god_n reveal_v in_o christ_n be_v not_o of_o the_o true_a church_n nor_o spouse_n of_o christ_n but_o be_v adulterer_n therefore_o christ_n call_v these_o pharisee_n and_o sadducee_n adulterous_a generation_n 4._o christ_n enemy_n shall_v get_v no_o satisfaction_n in_o sign_n such_o as_o they_o prescribe_v to_o help_v they_o to_o discern_v christ_n by_o in_o his_o doctrine_n and_o operation_n shall_v be_v suffer_v to_o go_v on_o in_o opposition_n till_o they_o have_v vent_v their_o malice_n to_o the_o full_a and_o then_o shall_v they_o know_v by_o christ_n victory_n over_o they_o and_o over_o death_n itself_o and_o over_o all_o his_o enemy_n that_o christ_n be_v indeed_o the_o true_a messiah_n for_o say_v christ_n no_o sign_n shall_v be_v give_v they_o but_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o prophet_n jonas_n who_o after_o three_o day_n arise_v as_o it_o be_v out_o of_o the_o grave_n 5._o hypocrite_n and_o such_o as_o tempt_v god_n shall_v be_v leave_v unto_o themselves_o as_o here_o christ_n leave_v they_o and_o depart_v ver._n 5._o and_o of_o justification_n by_o work_n profess_v by_o the_o pharisee_n and_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o sadducee_n deny_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o body_n and_o the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v both_o poisonable_a leaven_n therefore_o beware_v of_o the_o leaven_n of_o the_o pharisee_n and_o sadducee_n say_v he_o put_v both_o the_o sect_n in_o a_o like_a condition_n of_o infection_n ver._n 7._o and_o they_o reason_v among_o themselves_o say_v it_o be_v because_o we_o have_v take_v no_o bread_n the_o disciple_n imagine_v that_o christ_n be_v speak_v of_o bodily_a leaven_n doct._n ready_o be_v our_o lord_n word_n mistake_v even_o by_o disciple_n and_o upon_o a_o mistake_n wrong_n conclusion_n be_v draw_v and_o so_o the_o intent_n of_o christ_n word_n be_v lose_v for_o because_o we_o have_v no_o bread_n be_v this_o admonition_n give_v say_v the_o disciple_n ver._n 8._o which_o when_o jesus_n perceive_v he_o say_v unto_o they_o o_o you_o of_o little_a faith_n why_o reason_v
