of_o tempest_n &_o storm_n so_o that_o if_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o our_o own_o very_a fantasye_n they_o will_v be_v so_o many_o whyrlewinde_n too_o make_v we_o never_o to_o have_v quiet_a mind_n now_o see_v then_o a_o good_a remedy_n that_o be_v let_v we_o know_v that_o although_o we_o be_v environ_v with_o a_o great_a number_n of_o danger_n although_o there_o be_v no_o certainty_n in_o our_o life_n although_o there_o be_v always_o a_o hundred_o death_n before_o our_o eye_n yea_o that_o we_o think_v the_o devil_n shall_v swallow_v we_o up_o every_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n yet_o must_v we_o be_v peaceable_a and_o hold_v ourselves_o quiet_a and_o still_o because_o that_o god_n have_v lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o our_o salvation_n in_o his_o word_n and_o that_o he_o have_v little_a fear_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o so_o that_o we_o can_v hold_v the_o favour_n of_o man_n in_o do_v our_o duty_n any_o way_n well_o this_o go_v for_o payment_n but_o if_o there_o blow_v a_o ill_a wind_n and_o that_o we_o perceive_v any_o evil_a practice_n
unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o sum_n it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v say_v that_o no_o man_n be_v able_a right_o to_o feel_v how_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o his_o word_n certain_a and_o sure_a without_o he_o have_v a_o true_a faith_n and_o belief_n thereof_o within_o his_o heart_n &_o the_o same_o to_o be_v discharge_v of_o whatsoever_o be_v contrary_a to_o his_o salvation_n as_o namely_o he_o say_v that_o he_o shall_v have_v perish_v in_o his_o trouble_n if_o he_o have_v not_o delight_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n david_n here_o show_v what_o experience_n he_o have_v to_o wit_n that_o he_o be_v so_o afflict_v that_o he_o be_v as_o it_o be_v even_o in_o the_o gulf_n of_o death_n now_o if_o the_o word_n of_o god_n bring_v we_o out_o of_o the_o grave_n quicken_v we_o in_o death_n &_o preserve_v our_o health_n notwithstanding_o that_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v swallow_v up_o in_o the_o gulf_n do_v we_o not_o see_v a_o good_a proufe_v give_v we_o from_o god_n how_o firm_a &_o sound_v it_o be_v so_o then_o let_v we_o well_o consider_v as_o we_o have_v already_o say_v that_o since_o we_o have_v know_v the_o power_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o be_v such_o as_o it_o be_v here_o show_v we_o we_o may_v in_o such_o sort_n resist_v all_o the_o great_a temptation_n which_o the_o devil_n be_v able_a crafty_o to_o work_v against_o we_o so_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o escape_v as_o it_o be_v both_o from_o death_n and_o the_o grave_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o now_o for_o the_o second_o point_n david_n show_v we_o how_o it_o be_v that_o we_o be_v preserve_v in_o all_o our_o affliction_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n how_o our_o life_n shall_v be_v saulfe_a &_o our_o health_n assure_v thereby_o and_o that_o be_v if_o we_o delight_v therein_o to_o wit_n that_o we_o be_v so_o comfort_v with_o the_o love_n which_o god_n there_o show_v we_o and_o wherewith_o he_o certifi_v we_o that_o since_o he_o have_v adopt_v we_o for_o his_o child_n he_o will_v therefore_o always_o show_v himself_o to_o be_v our_o father_n wherefore_o we_o may_v bold_o recommend_v our_o soul_n unto_o he_o and_o he_o will_v receive_v they_o so_o that_o distrust_n and_o doubt_n to_o reason_v how_o it_o go_v and_o afterward_o wander_v after_o creature_n or_o else_o build_v upon_o ourselves_o if_o we_o be_v so_o changeable_a we_o shall_v never_o feel_v any_o virtue_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o may_v be_v overthrow_v a_o hundred_o time_n the_o lead_n affliction_n in_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v as_o a_o gulf_n to_o swallow_v we_o up_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v the_o main_n sea_n but_o even_o a_o finger_n depth_n of_o water_n too_o smouth_o and_o drown_v we_o if_o it_o be_v not_o that_o we_o have_v learn_v of_o david_n to_o be_v assure_v of_o the_o love_n which_o god_n bear_v we_o and_o that_o by_o his_o word_n so_o then_o let_v we_o understand_v what_o the_o true_a delight_n of_o the_o faithful_a be_v and_o that_o which_o preserve_v they_o from_o death_n &_o quicken_v they_o that_o be_v when_o they_o be_v content_v with_o the_o love_n of_o god_n to_o set_v their_o whole_a felicity_n there_o to_o have_v he_o to_o be_v merciful_a and_o favourable_a to_o have_v this_o privilege_n to_o have_v recourse_n unto_o he_o be_v assure_v that_o he_o will_v hear_v they_o see_v i_o say_v how_o we_o shall_v be_v quicken_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n now_o when_o that_o david_n have_v declare_v the_o profit_n which_o he_o receive_v by_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o law_n he_o add_v that_o he_o will_v never_o forget_v it_o wherein_o he_o protest_v that_o he_o will_v not_o be_v unthankful_a to_o god_n as_o we_o be_v accustom_v now_o although_o we_o be_v not_o without_o a_o great_a number_n of_o vice_n yet_o be_v this_o one_o of_o the_o great_a that_o we_o do_v not_o only_o so_o oftentimes_o suffer_v the_o benefit_n of_o god_n to_o escape_v out_o of_o our_o mind_n but_o we_o be_v also_o so_o wicked_a as_o that_o we_o desire_v nothing_o more_o than_o for_o to_o bury_v they_o we_o think_v we_o shall_v have_v never_o time_n enough_o utter_o to_o forget_v they_o see_v i_o say_v the_o state_n and_o condition_n of_o our_o vile_a and_o corrupt_a nature_n and_o therefore_o david_n in_o this_o place_n protest_v that_o he_o will_v never_o forget_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n because_o he_o have_v be_v quicken_v by_o they_o and_o moreover_o he_o speak_v it_o not_o only_o for_o himself_o but_o show_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o example_n what_o our_o office_n &_o duty_n be_v when_o god_n then_o shall_v have_v thus_o aid_v we_o in_o our_o affliction_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v raise_v we_o up_o even_o from_o the_o grave_n through_o the_o might_n and_o power_n of_o his_o word_n and_o that_o obscure_a be_v it_o not_o declare_v unto_o we_o more_o at_o large_a see_v now_o than_o what_o david_n his_o meaning_n be_v if_o a_o man_n be_v as_o it_o be_v cast_v down_o not_o taste_v of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o when_o it_o shall_v be_v lay_v before_o he_o that_o although_o god_n afflict_v his_o child_n yet_o that_o he_o do_v it_o not_o utter_o to_o overthrow_v &_o destroy_v they_o but_o to_o the_o end_n to_o calthen_v to_o repentance_n that_o afterward_o they_o may_v feel_v his_o merciful_a goodness_n if_o a_o man_n then_o be_v thus_o admonish_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o which_o david_n here_o speak_v that_o he_o will_v never_o forget_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n because_o he_o have_v be_v quicken_v by_o they_o as_o if_o he_o buckler_n and_o defend_v they_o with_o his_o mighty_a power_n and_o namely_o he_o say_v the_o proud_a because_o that_o they_o which_o be_v our_o enemy_n and_o make_v war_n against_o we_o have_v such_o a_o unbrideled_a liberty_n as_o that_o they_o think_v neither_o god_n nor_o yet_o any_o other_o live_a creature_n be_v able_a to_o stay_v they_o but_o that_o they_o will_v bring_v to_o pass_v whatsoever_o they_o have_v determine_v since_o than_o it_o be_v so_o that_o we_o have_v too_o deal_v with_o such_o kind_n of_o people_n as_o be_v both_o stout_a and_o cruel_a who_o lift_v themselves_o up_o against_o all_o truth_n that_o neither_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n nor_o yet_o natural_a honesty_n can_v stop_v they_o but_o that_o they_o will_v destroy_v whether_o it_o be_v right_a or_o wrong_n as_o we_o say_v for_o this_o cause_n david_n say_v o_o lord_n let_v not_o the_o proud_a do_v i_o wrong_n and_o so_o as_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v this_o boldness_n in_o man_n to_o lift_v themselves_o up_o and_o to_o vomit_v out_o their_o pestilent_a malice_n against_o we_o let_v we_o fly_v unto_o god_n and_o beseech_v he_o too_o hold_v his_o holy_a hand_n over_o we_o &_o to_o repress_v so_o great_a and_o insolent_a arrogancy_n this_o be_v do_v although_o man_n for_o their_o part_n make_v such_o attempt_n yet_o shall_v they_o never_o bring_v they_o to_o pass_v for_o god_n will_v hold_v they_o back_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o sharp_a brake_n now_o if_o this_o petition_n come_v ever_o in_o season_n it_o come_v now_o at_o this_o day_n in_o very_o good_a season_n for_o we_o see_v how_o many_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n be_v which_o bend_v themselves_o against_o the_o gospel_n we_o see_v the_o malice_n and_o obstinacy_n throughout_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o so_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a but_o that_o a_o man_n which_o fear_v god_n must_v needs_o be_v assail_v &_o trouble_v on_o all_o side_n see_v then_o that_o man_n be_v so_o furious_a to_o wrong_v we_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o ought_v we_o to_o be_v careful_a to_o make_v this_o request_n unto_o god_n with_o david_n yea_o and_o that_o with_o such_o a_o confidence_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o doubt_v but_o that_o when_o we_o be_v under_o his_o protection_n he_o shall_v be_v sufficient_a too_o maintain_v and_o defend_v us._n now_o it_o follow_v my_o eye_n have_v fail_v in_o look_v for_o thy_o salvation_n and_o for_o thy_o just_a promise_n we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o stand_v long_o upon_o this_o sentence_n because_o it_o have_v be_v already_o handle_v here_o before_o david_n only_o protest_v that_o he_o have_v look_v for_o such_o help_n from_o god_n as_o he_o desire_v and_o that_o be_v to_o show_v that_o he_o pray_v not_o hypocritical_o but_o faithful_o and_o this_o be_v a_o our_o word_n in_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n but_o if_o we_o shall_v have_v speak_v never_o so_o loud_o and_o with_o never_o so_o full_a and_o open_a mouth_n and_o yet_o have_v empty_a or_o fast_o close_v up_o heart_n empty_a i_o say_v and_o void_a of_o all_o trust_n and_o fast_o close_v up_o it_o be_v a_o most_o manifest_a token_n that_o we_o never_o sure_o look_v for_o any_o succour_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o behold_v why_o of_o very_o right_a all_o our_o prayer_n be_v unprofitable_a and_o to_o no_o purpose_n and_o so_o when_o as_o we_o will_v beseech_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n to_o take_v our_o cause_n into_o his_o hand_n to_o help_v we_o let_v we_o take_v this_o with_o we_o which_o david_n here_o show_v in_o this_o place_n by_o his_o example_n to_o wit_n let_v we_o attend_v and_o look_v for_o our_o salvation_n and_o deliverance_n from_o god_n yea_o and_o let_v we_o consider_v of_o that_o which_o be_v say_v &_o according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o thy_o righteousness_n for_o by_o this_o he_o signify_v to_o we_o upon_o who_o we_o must_v look_v and_o cast_v our_o eye_n when_o as_o we_o will_v thorough_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o unto_o such_o a_o hope_n to_o wit_n unto_o the_o promise_n which_o god_n have_v give_v we_o for_o if_o this_o be_v not_o in_o we_o it_o can_v never_o be_v say_v to_o be_v any_o more_o hope_n but_o a_o vain_a imagination_n in_o his_o own_o sight_n &_o after_o lean_v thereto_o this_o man_n trust_v not_o in_o god_n but_o in_o himself_o so_o then_o if_o we_o look_v to_o have_v any_o help_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n we_o must_v have_v a_o sure_a testimony_n of_o his_o will_n we_o must_v be_v sure_a that_o he_o love_v we_o and_o that_o when_o he_o love_v we_o he_o will_v not_o fail_v we_o in_o our_o need_n and_o how_o shall_v we_o be_v assure_v of_o this_o it_o shall_v be_v by_o the_o only_a mean_a of_o his_o word_n now_o because_o man_n be_v so_o hard_a to_o be_v bring_v to_o rest_v themselves_o upon_o god_n and_o not_o to_o content_v they_o with_o his_o promise_n david_n say_v these_o promise_n to_o be_v just_a according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o thy_o righteousness_n say_v he_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a that_o he_o thus_o intitule_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o why_o so_o for_o he_o think_v that_o if_o he_o have_v but_o his_o bare_a word_n that_o it_o be_v enough_o for_o he_o and_o why_o so_o for_o god_n make_v not_o unto_o we_o liberal_a and_o large_a promise_n as_o man_n do_v and_o then_o deceive_v us._n his_o word_n be_v just_a and_o as_o he_o say_v in_o a_o other_o place_n 12.6_o psal_n 12.6_o his_o word_n be_v like_a to_o pure_a silver_n which_o be_v try_v in_o the_o fire_n and_o have_v be_v seven_o time_n purify_v in_o the_o furnace_n even_o so_o be_v it_o with_o all_o the_o that_o he_o have_v great_a and_o strong_a conflict_n that_o he_o be_v in_o marvelous_a anguish_n &_o trouble_n so_o that_o he_o be_v as_o a_o man_n half_o dead_a and_o yet_o that_o he_o be_v arm_v and_o fence_v amidst_o all_o these_o hard_a case_n with_o the_o hope_n &_o trust_v which_o he_o have_v in_o god_n see_v what_o the_o word_n import_v which_o he_o use_v that_o his_o eye_n fail_v for_o the_o health_n and_o succour_n which_o he_o look_v for_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n will_v we_o then_o have_v a_o right_a hope_n and_o such_o a_o one_o as_o god_n allow_v of_o let_v we_o then_o not_o trust_v only_o when_o we_o be_v quiet_a and_o at_o rest_n ne_o yet_o be_v throw_v down_o by_o any_o temptation_n but_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o our_o extreme_a trouble_n that_o we_o know_v not_o at_o all_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v see_v nothing_o else_o but_o death_n before_o we_o and_o round_o about_o we_o here_o upon_o i_o say_v let_v we_o always_o be_v firm_a and_o constant_a trust_v that_o god_n will_v be_v our_o saviour_n since_o he_o have_v so_o promise_v us._n loe_o how_o we_o may_v make_v this_o protestation_n as_o david_n here_o do_v now_o it_o follow_v deal_v with_o thy_o servant_n according_a to_o thy_o love_a mercy_n and_o teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n here_o it_o may_v very_o well_o seem_v that_o david_n make_v two_o petition_n but_o yet_o they_o tend_v both_o to_o one_o end_n for_o in_o the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o verse_n he_o show_v how_o he_o desire_v and_o trust_v to_o be_v hear_v to_o wit_n through_o the_o mere_a mercy_n of_o god_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v o_o lord_n teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n and_o teach_v i_o they_o not_o for_o that_o i_o think_v myself_o worthy_a of_o they_o but_o because_o thou_o be_v pitiful_a and_o

but_o by_o these_o mean_v they_o declare_v themselves_o too_o be_v the_o deadly_a enemy_n of_o god_n yea_o worse_o than_o the_o very_a deville_n and_o why_o so_o forsooth_o they_o think_v it_o not_o enough_o that_o they_o have_v nothing_o profit_v in_o the_o school_n of_o god_n neither_o yet_o be_v they_o content_v to_o show_v the_o way_n to_o do_v well_o unto_o other_o but_o they_o will_v have_v all_o the_o world_n to_o be_v like_a unto_o themselves_o that_o there_o shall_v never_o mention_v be_v make_v of_o praise_v god_n &_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v this_o word_n christian_n shall_v stand_v they_o in_o never_o a_o penny_n now_o without_o all_o doubt_n god_n disalow_v of_o all_o those_o which_o will_v not_o give_v themselves_o to_o sing_v praise_n song_n now_o since_o it_o be_v so_o that_o david_n speak_v after_o this_o sort_n let_v we_o now_o see_v what_o our_o duty_n be_v for_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v heretofore_o he_o brag_v not_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v know_v the_o truth_n of_o our_o good_a god_n what_o be_v there_o they_o for_o we_o to_o do_v forsooth_o we_o must_v not_o hold_v fast_o this_o treasure_n as_o it_o be_v lock_v up_o in_o a_o cheste_n but_o communicate_v his_o grace_n unto_o other_o yea_o and_o do_v the_o best_a we_o can_v to_o draw_v on_o the_o miserable_a ignorant_a people_n too_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o too_o carry_v about_o with_o we_o the_o doctrine_n to_o publish_v it_o to_o all_o man_n when_o as_o it_o be_v commit_v unto_o we_o as_o a_o treasure_n and_o to_o bestow_v the_o gift_n which_o we_o have_v receive_v upon_o our_o neighbour_n according_a to_o that_o measure_n of_o faith_n which_o god_n have_v give_v us._n howbeit_o this_o order_n be_v far_o of_o from_o we_o for_o if_o there_o be_v but_o three_o word_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n speak_v we_o will_v soon_o be_v weary_a of_o it_o may_v we_o shall_v not_o hear_v it_o speak_v of_o at_o this_o day_n it_o be_v so_o far_o of_o that_o it_o be_v talk_v of_o both_o at_o the_o table_n in_o the_o way_n and_o every_o where_o as_o that_o we_o can_v hardly_o abide_v that_o even_o for_o fashion_n sake_n the_o preach_n of_o it_o be_v that_o which_o david_n here_o add_v all_o thy_o statute_n say_v he_o be_v righteous_a if_o we_o do_v thorough_o know_v what_o equity_n and_o pureness_n there_o be_v in_o the_o statute_n of_o god_n without_o doubt_n we_o shall_v be_v more_o earnest_n to_o learn_v hold_v and_o show_v they_o unto_o other_o than_o heretofore_o we_o have_v be_v so_o then_o all_z they_o which_o make_v no_o account_n too_o instruct_v their_o neighbour_n and_o do_v not_o esteem_v of_o the_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n which_o they_o have_v receive_v do_v hereby_o show_v that_o they_o will_v not_o render_v the_o righteousness_n to_o god_n as_o to_o he_o appertame_v according_o as_o it_o be_v contain_v in_o his_o word_n and_o as_o he_o himself_o show_v it_o therein_o now_o david_n by_o and_o by_o add_v let_v thy_o hand_n help_v i_o for_o i_o have_v choose_v thy_o commandment_n he_o yet_o return_v too_o that_o which_o before_o he_o have_v say_v of_o deliverance_n for_o after_o he_o have_v require_v to_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n he_o say_v o_o deliver_v i_o yea_o he_o right_a well_o know_v that_o if_o he_o have_v not_o he_o for_o his_o protector_n that_o he_o shall_v always_o remain_v as_o it_o be_v in_o death_n now_o he_o add_v let_v thy_o hand_n help_v i_o and_o why_o so_o for_o i_o have_v choose_v say_v he_o thy_o commandment_n when_o he_o desire_v god_n too_o help_v he_o with_o his_o hand_n he_o confess_v his_o want_n and_o that_o he_o be_v as_o a_o man_n which_o need_v help_v even_o as_o though_o he_o have_v never_o have_v more_o need_n and_o that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o he_o to_o deliver_v himself_o neither_o can_v he_o find_v it_o in_o any_o of_o his_o creature_n and_o therefore_o except_o god_n have_v stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n see_v how_o david_n have_v be_v utter_o cast_v away_o now_o this_o confession_n here_o be_v very_o profitable_a for_o us._n for_o which_o of_o we_o be_v he_o that_o can_v be_v without_o affliction_n and_o that_o be_v able_a to_o say_v i_o have_v all_o thing_n that_o be_v necessary_a it_o be_v most_o true_a that_o we_o be_v more_o careful_a for_o that_o which_o concern_v our_o body_n and_o this_o present_a life_n then_o for_o that_o which_o be_v require_v for_o the_o salvation_n of_o our_o soul_n
