sure_o methinks_v there_o shall_v be_v such_o a_o skill_n somewhere_o and_o if_o there_o be_v it_o can_v but_o delight_v to_o show_v itself_o and_o will_v have_v its_o season_n so_o to_o do_v only_o it_o may_v first_o contrive_v to_o bring_v forth_o vanity_n misery_n weakness_n emptiness_n darkness_n death_n etc._n etc._n in_o their_o perfection_n that_o it_o may_v give_v a_o true_a taste_n of_o its_o own_o virtue_n when_o it_o have_v prepare_v all_o the_o eternal_n and_o everlasting_z that_o can_v be_v imagine_v to_o swallow_v up_o then_o will_v appear_v the_o efficacy_n and_o vigour_n of_o its_o own_o eternity_n and_o everlastingness_n these_o be_v the_o bowel_n out_o of_o which_o all_o thing_n come_v which_o be_v still_o roll_v and_o will_v never_o be_v at_o rest_n till_o they_o receive_v they_o in_o again_o and_o nothing_o can_v true_o rest_v till_o it_o return_v thither_o again_o this_o be_v the_o first_o and_o this_o must_v be_v the_o last_o and_o after_o all_o the_o toilsome_a compass_n and_o circuit_n that_o be_v now_o a_o fetch_v the_o circle_n will_v end_v where_o it_o begin_v and_o then_o will_v that_o saying_n be_v indeed_o verify_v the_o first_o shall_v be_v last_o and_o the_o last_o first_o but_o every_o thing_n must_v be_v thorough_o tire_v out_o of_o its_o own_o motion_n desire_n end_n hope_n happiness_n before_o it_o come_v to_o rest_v in_o nothing_o but_o the_o lord_n again_o it_o be_v his_o right_n to_o be_v the_o last_o who_o be_v the_o first_o and_o if_o he_o will_v be_v true_a to_o himself_o he_o can_v no_o more_o suffer_v any_o thing_n to_o be_v after_o he_o than_o it_o be_v before_o he_o and_o yet_o must_v nothing_o be_v lose_v but_o every_o thing_n find_v lose_v indeed_o in_o its_o own_o weak_a fade_a perish_a state_n to_o see_v but_o the_o lord_n and_o nothing_o leave_v to_o be_v see_v but_o the_o lord_n himself_o yea_o it_o be_v only_o to_o we_o that_o it_o be_v otherwise_o at_o present_a but_o not_o to_o he_o o_o foolish_a man_n when_o will_v thou_o cease_v boast_v of_o thy_o knowledge_n and_o come_v indeed_o to_o know_v the_o lord_n if_o i_o shall_v tell_v thou_o never_o so_o plain_o yet_o thou_o have_v not_o a_o ear_n to_o hear_v it_o therefore_o i_o will_v forbear_v perplex_v thou_o any_o further_a at_o this_o time_n with_o overstrain_v thou_o to_o hear_v see_v or_o comprehend_v beyond_o the_o from_o first_o to_o last_o the_o great_a thing_n that_o tend_v to_o preserve_v the_o life_n of_o man_n be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n the_o bestial_a part_n may_v feed_v on_o other_o thing_n but_o that_o be_v not_o the_o man_n but_o man_n can_v reach_v the_o inwardness_n of_o they_o he_o be_v shut_v out_o from_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n that_o he_o can_v come_v to_o eat_v of_o it_o and_o be_v not_o knowledge_n neither_o only_o comparative_a knowledge_n not_o true_a knowledge_n it_o be_v not_o a_o understanding_n what_o god_n be_v but_o a_o liken_n of_o god_n to_o somewhat_o and_o this_o be_v the_o great_a difference_n between_o man_n some_o set_v up_o idol_n of_o wood_n and_o stone_n other_o of_o silver_n and_o gold_n some_o have_v very_o carnal_a gross_a imagination_n and_o resemblance_n of_o god_n other_o have_v more_o refine_v and_o more_o spiritual_a one_o ii_o there_o be_v no_o true_a know_n of_o god_n by_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o creature_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o present_v himself_o to_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o to_o quicken_v in_o that_o eye_n a_o desire_n to_o see_v and_o discern_v he_o every_o eye_n be_v make_v to_o see_v god_n with_o but_o no_o eye_n can_v therefore_o it_o sicken_v languish_v pine_n and_o die_v under_o a_o curse_n that_o through_o death_n and_o destruction_n it_o may_v pass_v into_o a_o capacity_n of_o attain_v that_o without_o which_o it_o can_v enjoy_v itself_o as_o god_n make_v all_o thing_n to_o shadow_v out_o himself_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o creature_n in_o every_o kind_n to_o shadow_v out_o his_o excellency_n in_o their_o several_a kind_n so_o particular_o he_o make_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o creature_n to_o shadow_v out_o his_o own_o eye_n and_o it_o be_v his_o own_o eye_n in_o a_o shadow_n have_v all_o the_o property_n of_o his_o own_o eye_n in_o a_o shadow_n but_o be_v but_o a_o shadow_n it_o can_v never_o in_o its_o utmost_a exaltation_n attain_v to_o the_o sight_n of_o that_o which_o be_v substance_n no_o man_n can_v live_v and_o see_v god_n he_o must_v first_o die_v thorough_o and_o rise_v up_o again_o in_o the_o substance_n before_o he_o can_v apprehend_v or_o comprehend_v the_o substance_n at_o all_o in_o truth_n he_o may_v have_v a_o taste_n a_o glimpse_n of_o the_o substance_n in_o the_o shadow_n but_o yet_o it_o be_v which_o can_v possible_o reach_v the_o view_n of_o any_o thing_n beyond_o its_o sphere_n the_o create_a eye_n be_v fit_v to_o see_v nothing_o but_o colour_n as_o colour_n be_v suit_v to_o the_o create_a eye_n and_o though_o fool_n think_v they_o see_v more_o than_o colour_n they_o see_v thing_n in_o their_o own_o apprehension_n this_o thing_n and_o that_o thing_n and_o the_o other_o thing_n yet_o those_o that_o be_v wise_a know_v they_o be_v mistake_v and_o that_o they_o do_v and_o can_v see_v nothing_o but_o the_o colour_n we_o see_v good_a and_o evil_a which_o colour_n the_o whole_a creation_n but_o do_v we_o see_v that_o substance_n which_o be_v colour_v with_o these_o or_o do_v we_o know_v whence_o these_o colour_n come_v or_o what_o they_o be_v in_o their_o root_n they_o indeed_o put_v several_a gloss_n upon_o the_o substance_n represent_v it_o various_o to_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o creature_n but_o do_v they_o not_o hereby_o hide_v it_o from_o the_o creature_n do_v fain_o see_v know_v and_o enjoy_v but_o he_o who_o be_v indeed_o god_n they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o bear_v in_o the_o least_o in_o what_o he_o be_v there_o be_v nothing_o that_o they_o so_o perfect_o hate_v there_o be_v nothing_o which_o they_o so_o study_v to_o avoid_v nay_o there_o can_v be_v a_o great_a hell_n to_o they_o than_o his_o true_a presence_n and_o how_o can_v it_o be_v otherwise_o for_o he_o carry_v in_o his_o countenance_n the_o death_n of_o all_o that_o be_v their_o life_n joy_n hope_v and_o happiness_n o_o what_o a_o astonish_a sight_n will_v it_o be_v at_o the_o open_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n when_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o plead_v his_o love_n to_o god_n his_o delight_n in_o god_n his_o love_n to_o other_o for_o his_o sake_n etc._n etc._n that_o the_o contrary_n
