the_o reason_n that_o carnal_a people_n carp_v at_o these_o thing_n what_o great_a mystery_n then_o for_o i_o be_v a_o just_a and_o righteous_a man_n through_o christ_n yet_o to_o be_v so_o sinful_a that_o i_o can_v say_v there_o be_v none_o more_o sinful_a and_o yet_o i_o be_o as_o righteous_a as_o abraham_n or_o paul_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n i_o have_v as_o large_a a_o share_n as_o abraham_n or_o paul_n and_o yet_o i_o be_o full_a of_o sin_n a_o christian_a know_v this_o and_o he_o know_v how_o it_o be_v so_o well_o that_o be_v one_o lesson_n consider_v of_o it_o that_o you_o may_v know_v where_o to_o plant_v your_o justification_n upon_o the_o death_n and_o resurrection_n of_o jesus_n christ_n the_o lord_n teach_v it_o to_o you_o and_o i_o second_o if_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v glorious_a use_v 2._o saint_n shall_v see_v their_o condition_n in_o christ_n glorious_a fulfil_v in_o all_o that_o be_v beleiver_n through_o jesus_n christ_n then_o all_o you_o that_o be_v saint_n all_o you_o that_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n labour_v to_o see_v the_o glorious_a condition_n that_o you_o be_v in_o that_o you_o may_v be_v able_a to_o reflect_v upon_o yourselves_o not_o according_a to_o what_o you_o be_v out_o of_o christ_n but_o what_o you_o be_v consider_v to_o be_v as_o member_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o unyte_v to_o jesus_n christ_n therefore_o you_o shall_v have_v paul_n and_o it_o do_v i_o good_a to_o see_v his_o spirit_n he_o never_o reckon_v himself_o as_o in_o himself_o but_o as_o in_o jesus_n christ_n i_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n i_o can_v want_v and_o i_o can_v abound_v i_o can_v do_v this_o and_o that_o and_o all_o in_o christ_n so_o i_o christ_n to_o look_v on_o ourselves_o as_o unyte_v to_o christ_n must_v never_o conceive_v of_o god_n out_o of_o christ_n nor_o of_o my_o self_n out_o of_o christ_n i_o must_v never_o conceive_v of_o my_o self_n and_o christ_n as_o two_o but_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v clear_o and_o constant_o that_o whatsoever_o good_a there_o be_v in_o christ_n it_o be_v i_o as_o if_o it_o be_v in_o my_o own_o person_n and_o so_o we_o shall_v have_v our_o spirit_n raise_v above_o the_o temptation_n of_o the_o world_n and_o above_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o world_n and_o above_o corruption_n it_o be_v a_o pitiful_a thing_n to_o see_v poor_a professor_n spirit_n why_o many_o christian_n have_v such_o low_a spirit_n there_o be_v not_o one_o of_o many_o but_o they_o be_v ordinary_o below_o temptation_n and_o they_o lie_v under_o burden_n and_o be_v below_o their_o sin_n nay_o there_o be_v many_o professor_n that_o be_v more_o sad_a and_o droop_v then_o carnal_a people_n sure_o this_o be_v not_o the_o way_n of_o those_o saint_n that_o we_o read_v of_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n they_o have_v glorious_a spirit_n how_o do_v you_o think_v else_o they_o can_v go_v to_o the_o stock_n and_o to_o prison_n and_o from_o one_o compter_n to_o another_o and_o have_v their_o spirit_n so_o raise_v and_o yet_o sometime_o they_o be_v to_o die_v the_o next_o morning_n for_o aught_o they_o know_v your_o spirit_n will_v never_o be_v heighten_v and_o raise_v to_o live_v the_o life_n of_o paul_n by_o behold_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o you_o personal_o in_o your_o possession_n but_o what_o you_o be_v by_o relation_n and_o marriage_n to_o christ_n reckon_v yourselves_o dead_a with_o christ_n and_o so_o conceive_v i_o be_o a_o just_a man_n i_o be_v bind_v once_o to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n a_o terrible_a law_n and_o there_o be_v thousand_o in_o hell_n pay_v the_o debt_n and_o can_v pay_v it_o and_o yet_o i_o have_v pay_v every_o farthing_n and_o the_o law_n can_v ask_v i_o more_o i_o have_v offer_v a_o perfect_a righteousness_n to_o god_n and_o i_o be_o now_o sit_v at_o god_n right_a hand_n in_o heaven_n by_o my_o unyon_n with_o jesus_n christ_n this_o be_v the_o life_n of_o faith_n that_o we_o may_v be_v able_a to_o faith_n the_o life_n of_o faith_n triumph_v over_o all_o these_o thing_n below_o from_o our_o justification_n as_o paul_n do_v rom._n 8._o it_o be_v god_n that_o justifi_v and_o who_o shall_v condemn_v who_o shall_v separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n shall_v tribulation_n or_o distress_n or_o famine_n or_o nakedness_n or_o peril_n or_o sword_n nay_o in_o all_o these_o thing_n we_o be_v more_o than_o conqueror_n through_o christ_n that_o love_v we_o indeed_o tribulation_n and_o hunger_n and_o famine_n they_o be_v sad_a thing_n but_o these_o be_v the_o least_o trouble_n of_o a_o christian_a these_o outward_a misery_n over_o these_o we_o be_v more_o than_o conqueror_n say_v paul_n i_o can_v tie_v my_o right_a hand_n at_o my_o back_n and_o with_o my_o left_a hand_n beat_v all_o these_o back_n i_o can_v beat_v they_o with_o a_o finger_n nay_o i_o say_v more_o neither_o death_n nor_o life_n that_o be_v more_o nor_o angel_n nor_o principality_n nor_o power_n nor_o thing_n present_a nor_o thing_n to_o come_v nor_o height_n nor_o depth_n nor_o any_o other_o creature_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n which_o be_v in_o o_o grave_a where_o be_v thy_o victory_n he_o fear_v the_o grave_n and_o death_n and_o triumph_n over_o they_o o_o death_n where_o be_v thy_o sting_n thou_o think_v to_o overcome_v i_o but_o where_o be_v thy_o sting_n the_o sting_n of_o death_n be_v sin_n and_o the_o strength_n of_o sin_n be_v the_o law_n but_o thanks_o be_v unto_o god_n who_o have_v give_v we_o victory_n through_o jesus_n christ_n our_o lord_n he_o do_v not_o say_v which_o will_v give_v we_o victory_n when_o we_o be_v dead_a and_o then_o we_o shall_v be_v perfect_a in_o heaven_n it_o be_v true_a than_o we_o shall_v be_v more_o perfect_a but_o he_o say_v which_o have_v give_v we_o victory_n for_o the_o present_a i_o have_v already_o overcome_v hell_n and_o death_n and_o the_o devil_n for_o all_o hang_v on_o the_o law_n the_o law_n be_v god_n writ_n and_o the_o devil_n be_v god_n sergeant_n that_o execute_v that_o writ_n and_o hell_n be_v the_o prison_n therefore_o if_o the_o law_n be_v satisfy_v if_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v fulfil_v death_n and_o hell_n and_o the_o devil_n have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o i_o so_o in_o rom._n 4._o ult_n who_o be_v deliver_v for_o our_o offence_n and_o be_v raise_v for_o our_o justification_n and_o then_o it_o follow_v chap._n 5._o 1._o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n we_o have_v peace_n with_o god_n see_v where_o the_o apostle_n lay_v justification_n and_o we_o glory_n in_o tribulation_n know_v that_o it_o work_v patience_n etc._n etc._n we_o rejoice_v in_o tribulation_n and_o affliction_n why_o because_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o christ_n death_n and_o resurrection_n o_o what_o kind_n of_o spirit_n shall_v we_o have_v how_o full_a of_o joy_n and_o comfort_n shall_v we_o be_v in_o the_o great_a tribulation_n how_o shall_v we_o tread_v all_o this_o world_n under_o our_o foot_n the_o evil_n of_o this_o world_n and_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o world_n how_o shall_v we_o insult_v and_o triumph_v over_o the_o devil_n and_o over_o death_n and_o hell_n for_o all_o their_o power_n as_o i_o say_v be_v from_o the_o law_n and_o if_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v fulfil_v than_o all_o our_o enemy_n be_v subdue_v and_o all_o be_v clear_a heaven_n be_v open_a and_o god_n be_v i_o and_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n be_v to_o i_o for_o know_v this_o that_o there_o be_v no_o natural_a imbred_a god_n what_o hinder_v the_o creature_n from_o enjoy_v god_n hatred_n in_o god_n to_o his_o creature_n there_o be_v nothing_o that_o keep_v the_o creature_n from_o the_o full_a enjoyment_n of_o god_n but_o the_o law_n not_o be_v satisfy_v god_n make_v a_o law_n and_o we_o make_v the_o breach_n of_o it_o and_o there_o fall_v out_o the_o distance_n between_o
not_o believe_v in_o judea_n and_o that_o my_o service_n for_o jerusalem_n may_v be_v accept_v of_o the_o saint_n for_o jesus_n christ_n sake_n pray_v for_o i_o why_o he_o be_v go_v to_o jerusalem_n to_o carry_v money_n to_o the_o poor_a a_o man_n will_v think_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v behold_v to_o he_o that_o paul_n a_o preacher_n will_v come_v and_o bring_v it_o himself_o but_o i_o beseech_v you_o for_o christ_n sake_n pray_v that_o the_o saint_n may_v accept_v of_o my_o service_n o_o god_n give_v parliament_n man_n and_o great_a one_o that_o they_o may_v be_v willing_a to_o do_v for_o the_o saint_n and_o to_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o the_o saint_n acceptance_n it_o be_v a_o great_a matter_n for_o the_o saint_n to_o accept_v the_o service_n of_o the_o saint_n the_o thirteen_o thing_n to_o know_v a_o humble_a heart_n other_o 13._o he_o rejoice_v at_o the_o growth_n of_o grace_n in_o other_o by_o in_o his_o demeanour_n to_o the_o saint_n be_v this_o he_o rejoice_v much_o that_o grace_n grow_v in_o other_o though_o it_o do_v not_o in_o himself_o and_o he_o rejoice_v in_o the_o good_a that_o be_v do_v by_o other_o though_o he_o can_v do_v none_o himself_o paul_n 2_o cor._n 4._o 13._o i_o rejoice_v that_o you_o be_v honourable_a though_o we_o be_v beggar_n a_o humble_a heart_n rejoice_v though_o he_o be_v the_o least_o of_o saint_n yet_o to_o see_v such_o people_n grow_v and_o to_o have_v full_a grace_n and_o to_o thrive_v according_o a_o proud_a heart_n will_v murmur_v and_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n of_o a_o curse_a heart_n that_o do_v not_o rejoice_v in_o the_o good_a that_o be_v do_v by_o another_o it_o be_v a_o curse_a hellish_a disposition_n in_o numb_a 11._o we_o read_v how_o diverse_a do_v prophesy_v in_o the_o camp_n and_o they_o come_v to_o moses_n and_o desire_v he_o to_o forbid_v they_o o_o say_v they_o look_v yonder_o he_o be_v turn_v preacher_n now_o o_o say_v moses_n i_o will_v that_o all_o god_n people_n do_v prophesy_v now_o there_o be_v such_o a_o generation_n of_o man_n among_o we_o that_o will_v not_o endure_v that_o any_o good_a shall_v be_v do_v but_o by_o themselves_o and_o if_o a_o poor_a man_n go_v out_o of_o my_o parish_n to_o another_o place_n for_o the_o good_a of_o his_o soul_n i_o must_v envy_v the_o man_n because_o he_o will_v get_v more_o good_a and_o other_o that_o have_v be_v tradesman_n though_o this_o congregation_n or_o in_o the_o army_n or_o any_o where_n as_o much_o as_o if_o it_o be_v do_v by_o myself_o i_o be_o a_o curse_a proud_a man_n let_v we_o think_v of_o that_o another_o thing_n which_o i_o speak_v of_o before_o be_v that_o love_v 14._o he_o can_v love_v though_o he_o be_v not_o love_v a_o humble_a heart_n he_o can_v love_v though_o he_o be_v not_o love_v as_o paul_n say_v though_o the_o more_o i_o love_v you_o the_o less_o â—_o be_v love_v of_o you_o there_o be_v none_o but_o a_o humble_a heart_n that_o can_v love_v when_o it_o be_v not_o love_v last_o and_o so_o to_o make_v a_o end_n of_o this_o text_n the_o himself_o 15._o he_o measure_v not_o himself_o by_o himself_o demeanour_n of_o a_o humble_a heart_n to_o the_o saint_n it_o be_v see_v in_o this_o he_o dare_v not_o measure_v himself_o by_o himself_o nor_o compare_v himself_o with_o himself_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o word_n 2_o cor_n 10._o 12._o we_o dare_v not_o make_v ourselves_o of_o the_o number_n or_o compare_v ourselves_o with_o some_o that_o commend_v themselves_o but_o they_o measure_v themselves_o by_o themselves_o and_o compare_v themselves_o among_o themselves_o be_v not_o wise_a man_n natural_o be_v the_o best_a judge_n of_o himself_o only_o every_o man_n have_v abundance_n of_o self-love_n whereby_o every_o man_n think_v in_o every_o point_n better_a of_o himself_o than_o he_o flatterer_n by_o they_o that_o shall_v commend_v they_o though_o all_o the_o world_n condemn_v they_o yet_o if_o they_o approve_v they_o and_o commend_v they_o they_o care_v not_o thereupon_o i_o have_v know_v some_o that_o have_v lose_v all_o their_o reputation_n with_o all_o the_o saint_n except_v only_o two_o or_o three_o that_o will_v call_v black_a white_a and_o white_a black_a you_o ourselves_o condemn_v but_o beware_v of_o set_v a_o few_o creature_n like_o our_o self_n to_o be_v judge_n but_o to_o approve_v ourselves_o before_o the_o lord_n and_o before_o the_o generation_n of_o saint_n and_o so_o you_o have_v hear_v the_o demeanour_n of_o the_o saint_n that_o they_o be_v humble_a in_o their_o carriage_n towards_o god_n and_o towards_o sinner_n and_o towards_o saint_n and_o so_o much_o for_o this_o text_n mount_v zion_n or_o the_o privilege_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o saint_n by_o walter_n cradock_n late_a preacher_n at_o alhallows_n great_a in_o london_n heb._n can_v justify_v we_o there_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o though_o the_o law_n can_v justify_v we_o yet_o there_o be_v many_o bless_a use_n both_o for_o sinner_n and_o saint_n to_o make_v of_o the_o law_n of_o which_o i_o shall_v not_o now_o speak_v now_o in_o this_o 8_o chapter_n the_o apostle_n draw_v this_o conclusion_n from_o what_o he_o have_v say_v before_o there_o be_v therefore_o from_o what_o i_o have_v say_v it_o be_v evident_a that_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n there_o be_v no_o damnation_n there_o be_v no_o danger_n of_o hell_n to_o they_o which_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n now_o he_o open_v who_o those_o be_v he_o say_v they_o be_v those_o who_o walk_v not_o after_o the_o flesh_n but_o after_o the_o spirit_n and_o he_o give_v a_o reason_n of_o it_o in_o verse_n we_o that_o it_o may_v be_v be_v emynent_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o world_n before_o man_n yet_o when_o all_o come_v to_o all_o their_o fast_n and_o pray_v and_o preach_v and_o repeat_v etc._n etc._n will_v be_v find_v to_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n but_o a_o walk_a according_a to_o the_o flesh_n that_o be_v according_a to_o the_o refine_a well_o educate_v principle_n of_o old_a adam_n but_o i_o shall_v go_v on_o a_o little_a further_o therefore_o in_o the_o next_o place_n the_o question_n will_v be_v how_o shall_v i_o know_v whether_o i_o walk_v according_a spirit_n use_v 2._o how_o to_o know_v whether_o we_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o spirit_n to_o the_o flesh_n or_o according_a to_o the_o spirit_n how_o shall_v i_o know_v whether_o i_o be_v one_o of_o those_o that_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o spirit_n i_o will_v only_o give_v you_o a_o few_o expression_n of_o it_o i_o will_v not_o say_v sign_n for_o it_o may_v be_v you_o can_v not_o all_o bear_v that_o word_n and_o these_o expression_n be_v most_o of_o they_o lay_v down_o in_o this_o chapter_n and_o hereabout_o whereby_o you_o may_v have_v a_o guess_n of_o it_o whether_o you_o be_v man_n that_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o spirit_n or_o no._n first_o you_o shall_v find_v in_o rom._n 6._o that_o those_o that_o sin_n 1._o such_o be_v dead_a to_o sin_n be_v under_o grace_n or_o that_o walk_n wind_n and_o tide_n so_o a_o man_n that_o walk_v according_a to_o grace_n he_o can_v go_v as_o a_o child_n and_o speak_v love_v and_o plain_a word_n to_o his_o father_n and_o get_v power_n over_o his_o sin_n that_o all_o the_o bowl_a and_o roar_v and_o cry_v of_o another_o a_o whole_a year_n together_o can_v do_v it_o be_v so_o and_o all_o you_o that_o know_v what_o grace_n be_v know_v it_o
