we_o miserable_a wretch_n and_o full_a of_o pollution_n it_o have_v be_v many_o time_n through_o the_o barrenness_n of_o our_o heart_n the_o secret_a and_o deceitful_a corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n but_o even_o the_o breath_n of_o thy_o minister_n scatter_v in_o the_o air_n and_o as_o water_v spill_v upon_o the_o ground_n whereas_o it_o may_v be_v unto_o some_o be_v humble_o and_o reverent_o receive_v as_o a_o two_o edge_a sword_n that_o will_v enter_v through_o even_o unto_o the_o divide_n asunder_o of_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o spirit_n and_o of_o the_o joint_n and_o the_o marrow_n that_o will_v break_v in_o piece_n their_o hard_a heart_n and_o strike_v their_o conscience_n with_o terror_n and_o remorse_n for_o their_o sin_n a_o necessary_a step_n to_o regeneration_n and_o whereas_o it_o may_v be_v unto_o other_o a_o precious_a restorative_n to_o repair_v the_o ruin_n of_o their_o conscience_n and_o to_o put_v life_n into_o their_o dead_a zeal_n and_o affection_n gracious_o to_o inform_v they_o in_o all_o the_o part_n of_o their_o calling_n it_o be_v but_o even_o as_o a_o witness_n of_o our_o coldness_n sencelessenesse_n and_o unthankefullnesse_n register_v in_o the_o book_n of_o our_o conscience_n against_o the_o day_n of_o our_o visitation_n lord_n we_o beseech_v thou_o out_o of_o thy_o tender_a compassion_n to_o forgive_v we_o all_o our_o former_a untowardness_n irreverence_n and_o unprofitablenesse_n in_o these_o holy_a exercise_n and_o now_o at_o length_n before_o we_o go_v down_o into_o our_o grave_n into_o black_a and_o cruel_a habitation_n from_o whence_o we_o must_v never_o return_v to_o praise_v thou_o upon_o earth_n let_v we_o feel_v thy_o divine_a power_n work_v in_o we_o effectual_o at_o the_o preach_n of_o thy_o word_n let_v we_o have_v a_o sense_n of_o thy_o omnipotency_n in_o in_o conquer_a our_o corruption_n and_o temptation_n let_v thy_o powerful_a spirit_n stir_v up_o our_o heart_n and_o quicken_v our_o affection_n to_o embrace_v the_o power_n of_o religion_n and_o true_a godliness_n that_o so_o be_v free_v from_o sin_n by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o forsake_v all_o our_o know_a sin_n and_o labour_v sincere_o to_o please_v thou_o in_o all_o thing_n we_o may_v have_v our_o fruit_n in_o holiness_n and_o the_o end_n everlasting_a happiness_n a_o prayer_n before_o sermon_n most_o merciful_a father_n we_o humble_o beseech_v thou_o to_o give_v every_o one_o of_o we_o grace_n to_o let_v these_o thing_n sink_v deep_o into_o our_o heart_n bless_v we_o beseech_v thou_o our_o will_n and_o affection_n with_o sanctify_a desire_n to_o entertain_v they_o our_o memory_n with_o faithfulness_n to_o retain_v they_o our_o mind_n with_o serious_a meditation_n to_o digest_v they_o our_o heart_n with_o fervency_n and_o prayer_n for_o thy_o blessing_n upon_o they_o our_o life_n with_o practice_n and_o piety_n to_o profit_v by_o they_o lord_n we_o see_v clear_o that_o all_o our_o pleasure_n shall_v die_v and_o perish_v that_o our_o honour_n shall_v be_v lay_v in_o the_o dust_n that_o our_o gold_n and_o silver_n shall_v canker_n and_o the_o rust_n of_o of_o they_o shall_v be_v a_o witness_n against_o we_o at_o the_o last_o day_n that_o outward_a performance_n of_o religious_a duty_n without_o inward_a sanctification_n shall_v have_v their_o portion_n with_o hypocrite_n in_o the_o lake_n which_o burn_v with_o fire_n and_o brimstrone_n where_o then_o shall_v appear_v the_o liar_n the_o swearer_n the_o drunkard_n the_o profaner_n of_o the_o sabbath_n the_o unclean_a person_n the_o proud_a the_o idle_a the_o malicious_a the_o careless_a in_o his_o call_n even_o without_o timely_a and_o sound_a repentance_n in_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o the_o low_a hell_n o_o than_o we_o beseech_v thou_o gracious_a father_n to_o vouchsafe_v we_o in_o time_n wise_a and_o understand_a heart_n the_o spirit_n of_o judgement_n to_o discern_v between_o the_o short_a span_n of_o this_o miserable_a life_n and_o the_o length_n and_o breadth_n of_o eternity_n let_v we_o now_o at_o length_n make_v a_o through_o and_o deep_a search_n into_o the_o state_n of_o our_o soul_n and_o conscience_n and_o if_o we_o
