have_v heretofore_o grieve_v that_o holy_a spirit_n of_o thou_o by_o who_o thou_o have_v seal_v i_o and_o assure_v i_o of_o those_o gracious_a promise_n which_o thou_o have_v make_v unto_o i_o in_o thy_o christ_n forgive_v i_o those_o manifold_a sin_n and_o transgression_n whereby_o i_o have_v from_o time_n to_o time_n most_o grievous_o displease_v and_o provoke_v thy_o majesty_n who_o haste_v countenance_n from_o i_o but_o sure_o i_o be_o that_o he_o will_v never_o utter_o forsake_v i_o for_o his_o foundation_n be_v sure_o lay_v his_o love_n and_o grace_n be_v unchangeable_a he_o have_v be_v once_o nay_o often_o gracious_a unto_o i_o and_o will_v continue_v so_o for_o ever_o o_o my_o god_n keep_v i_o from_o sin_v against_o thou_o so_o shall_v the_o light_n of_o thy_o countenance_n shine_v always_o upon_o i_o so_o shall_v i_o feel_v the_o comfort_n of_o thy_o presence_n remain_v with_o i_o in_o life_n in_o death_n after_o death_n even_o for_o ever_o the_o truth_n and_o for_o afflict_a conscience_n there_o be_v none_o that_o receive_v a_o great_a measure_n of_o spiritual_a comfort_n and_o divine_a consolation_n whereby_o his_o spirit_n be_v cheer_v and_o his_o soul_n refresh_v and_o fill_v with_o inward_a joy_n and_o gladness_n but_o he_o have_v usual_o some_o grievous_a temptation_n either_o go_v before_o or_o follow_v after_o it_o thus_o the_o lord_n do_v ordinary_o deal_v with_o his_o child_n there_o be_v none_o of_o his_o saint_n but_o have_v experience_n of_o it_o in_o themselves_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o always_o cause_v the_o joyful_a light_n of_o soul_n with_o that_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a joy_n and_o comfort_n which_o be_v unspeakable_a and_o glorious_a neither_o do_v he_o always_o absent_v himself_o or_o hide_v the_o brightness_n of_o his_o face_n from_o they_o but_o sometime_o he_o do_v gracious_o visit_v they_o and_o cause_v they_o to_o taste_v abundantlie_o of_o the_o sweetness_n of_o his_o kindness_n his_o mercy_n and_o goodness_n so_o that_o they_o be_v exceed_o refresh_v and_o feel_v such_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a comfort_n and_o inward_a solace_n as_o that_o they_o be_v not_o able_a outward_o to_o express_v it_o and_o sometime_o again_o as_o though_o he_o have_v forget_v they_o he_o seem_v to_o hide_v and_o to_o absent_v himself_o from_o they_o and_o suffer_v they_o to_o be_v assail_v with_o some_o grievous_a temptation_n so_o that_o their_o day_n be_v turn_v into_o night_n their_o light_n into_o darkness_n their_o joy_n and_o gladness_n into_o sorrow_n and_o heaviness_n and_o this_o the_o lord_n do_v that_o he_o may_v cause_v they_o to_o acknowledge_v this_o to_o be_v his_o gift_n even_o that_o inward_a &_o spiritual_a comfort_n wherewith_o their_o spirit_n do_v rejoice_v before_o he_o and_o therefore_o to_o be_v thankful_a unto_o he_o when_o they_o receive_v it_o or_o have_v a_o more_o especial_a sense_n and_o feel_n of_o it_o as_o also_o to_o make_v they_o to_o depend_v whole_o upon_o earth_n can_v possible_o do_v of_o their_o own_o strength_n yea_o though_o they_o gather_v all_o their_o force_n together_o for_o he_o do_v not_o only_o conquer_v himself_o and_o subdue_v his_o own_o lust_n which_o rebel_n against_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o mind_n but_o also_o he_o overcom_v this_o world_n yea_o the_o prince_n thereof_o even_o satan_n himself_o with_o all_o those_o spiritual_a wickedness_n which_o reign_v in_o other_o and_o have_v they_o continual_o in_o subjection_n under_o they_o o_o lord_n without_o thou_o i_o be_o able_a to_o do_v nothing_o with_o thy_o help_n there_o be_v nothing_o but_o shall_v be_v easy_a unto_o i_o let_v it_o please_v thou_o continual_o to_o assist_v i_o with_o thy_o grace_n and_o to_o strengthen_v i_o with_o thy_o mighty_a power_n that_o so_o he_o take_v they_o from_o we_o we_o be_v willing_o to_o restore_v they_o and_o ready_o without_o any_o murmur_a or_o repine_v to_o part_v with_o they_o since_o they_o be_v but_o lend_v unto_o we_o until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o shall_v call_v for_o they_o yea_o why_o be_v it_o that_o many_o complain_v so_o grievous_o as_o if_o they_o be_v great_o injure_v or_o have_v very_o hard_a measure_n those_o hide_a treasure_n those_o inestimable_a riches_n of_o joy_n glory_n and_o everlasting_a happiness_n and_o felicity_n provide_v for_o the_o saint_n in_o the_o high_a heaven_n even_o the_o precious_a thing_n of_o god_n which_o can_v never_o be_v over_o prize_v or_o set_v at_o too_o high_a a_o rate_n can_v there_o be_v any_o great_a folly_n than_o this_o be_v not_o the_o simplicity_n even_o those_o invaluable_a treasure_n of_o glory_n bliss_n and_o happiness_n but_o that_o my_o judgement_n be_v clear_v and_o my_o heart_n sanctify_v i_o may_v now_o and_o always_o make_v great_a lord_n in_o truth_n and_o with_o a_o perfect_a heart_n do_v that_o always_o which_o be_v good_a in_o his_o sight_n without_o all_o guile_n &_o dissimulation_n where_o be_v that_o conscionable_a practice_n of_o a_o godly_a and_o of_o a_o christian_a life_n that_o be_v in_o paul_n who_o desire_n and_o endeavour_n be_v to_o have_v always_o a_o clear_a conscience_n towards_o god_n and_o towards_o man_n and_o to_o have_v his_o conversation_n in_o the_o world_n in_o simplicity_n and_o godly_a pureness_n or_o where_o be_v the_o heavenly_a mindednes_n of_o the_o same_o apostle_n who_o while_o he_o live_v in_o the_o world_n yet_o carry_v himself_o as_o one_o that_o be_v of_o another_o world_n have_v his_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n from_o thence_o expect_v and_o look_v for_o continual_o the_o glorious_a appearance_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n for_o the_o accomplishment_n of_o his_o redemption_n or_o where_o be_v there_o that_o earnest_a desire_n of_o the_o conversion_n and_o salvation_n of_o other_o which_o so_o manifest_o show_v forth_o itself_o in_o he_o in_o that_o it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o prayer_n of_o his_o heart_n but_o that_o which_o he_o aim_v at_o in_o all_o his_o action_n and_o seek_v for_o by_o all_o mean_n and_o which_o that_o he_o may_v attain_v unto_o he_o think_v no_o labour_n no_o travel_n painful_a or_o grievous_a no_o nor_o yet_o esteem_v his_o life_n itself_o dear_a unto_o he_o even_o that_o he_o may_v win_v many_o unto_o christ_n bring_v they_o unto_o the_o knowledge_n and_o obedience_n of_o the_o truth_n that_o so_o their_o soul_n may_v be_v save_v in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n or_o where_o be_v the_o piety_n and_o devotion_n of_o that_o religious_a gentille_n who_o although_o he_o want_v the_o mean_n which_o we_o now_o have_v in_o more_o plentiful_a manner_n yet_o have_v this_o commendation_n give_v unto_o he_o that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n fear_v god_n himself_o and_o careful_a to_o have_v his_o whole_a household_n and_o all_o those_o that_o belong_v unto_o he_o acquaint_v with_o true_a religion_n and_o godliness_n and_o withal_o that_o he_o cause_v his_o prayer_n and_o his_o alm_n to_o ascend_v continual_o into_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n so_o that_o the_o lord_n take_v pleasure_n and_o delight_n in_o he_o and_o reveal_v himself_o more_o clear_o and_o evident_o unto_o he_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o his_o messenger_n which_o he_o send_v unto_o he_o for_o that_o purpose_n or_o where_o be_v the_o forwardness_n of_o those_o noble_a beroean_n in_o receive_v the_o word_n with_o all_o readiness_n and_o inquire_v and_o search_v into_o the_o scripture_n from_o day_n to_o day_n that_o they_o may_v know_v &_o embrace_v the_o truth_n preach_v and_o be_v well_o ground_v and_o settle_v in_o it_o continue_v steadfast_a and_o unmoveable_a in_o the_o profession_n of_o it_o notwithstanding_o the_o opposition_n of_o all_o false_a teacher_n and_o seduce_a adversary_n or_o where_o be_v there_o one_o like_v the_o first_o martyr_n s._n stephen_n a_o man_n full_a of_o faith_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o of_o that_o unfeigned_a love_n and_o charity_n as_o to_o continue_v pray_v for_o his_o deadly_a enemy_n unto_o the_o last_o breath_n or_o where_o be_v there_o any_o that_o have_v that_o entire_a and_o love_a affection_n unto_o all_o the_o brethren_n even_o to_o all_o the_o saint_n stand_v together_o the_o one_o of_o they_o do_v exclude_v the_o other_o the_o more_o the_o one_o of_o they_o do_v increase_v the_o more_o the_o other_o must_v needs_o decrease_v and_o be_v diminish_v be_v there_o any_o therefore_o that_o with_o a_o greedy_a and_o ambitious_a mind_n do_v hunt_v after_o the_o praise_n of_o man_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o this_o world_n sure_o it_o can_v be_v but_o that_o he_o shall_v exceed_v in_o charity_n who_o shall_v think_v he_o to_o be_v true_o religious_a or_o well_o affect_v towards_o god_n or_o unfeigned_o desirous_a of_o his_o glory_n o_o lord_n let_v not_o my_o heart_n be_v set_v upon_o the_o glory_n which_o be_v from_o earth_n and_o from_o man_n but_o upon_o that_o which_o be_v from_o heaven_n even_o that_o which_o come_v from_o thou_o alone_o let_v the_o glory_n of_o this_o world_n though_o never_o so_o glitter_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o man_n seem_v unto_o i_o as_o indeed_o it_o be_v in_o itself_o but_o vain_a vanity_n yea_o more_o vain_a by_o the_o merit_n and_o worthiness_n of_o their_o own_o work_n they_o have_v right_a and_o interest_n unto_o life_n and_o salvation_n yea_o that_o they_o shall_v challenge_v and_o make_v claim_v thereunto_o as_o unto_o that_o which_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o as_o a_o just_a recompense_n and_o reward_v which_o they_o have_v well_o deserve_v and_o which_o god_n himself_o can_v without_o injustice_n detain_v and_o withhold_v from_o they_o nay_o that_o they_o shall_v go_v so_o far_o as_o to_o affirm_v bold_o that_o they_o may_v do_v work_n of_o supererogation_n more_o than_o god_n have_v command_v or_o can_v require_v at_o their_o hand_n such_o as_o whereby_o they_o may_v merit_v great_a thing_n not_o only_o for_o themselves_o but_o for_o other_o also_o have_v they_o ever_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n or_o do_v they_o ever_o receive_v the_o anoint_v of_o that_o holy_a one_o who_o teach_v maintain_v or_o believe_v this_o doctrine_n so_o direct_o cross_v and_o contrary_a unto_o the_o scripture_n so_o exceed_v derogatory_n from_o the_o free_a grace_n and_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o from_o the_o merit_n of_o the_o death_n and_o passion_n of_o christ_n jesus_n our_o
