beyond_o truth_n his_o passion_n be_v inflame_v and_o he_o pursue_v this_o shadow_n this_o work_n of_o his_o own_o brain_n and_o thereby_o lose_v some_o real_a and_o substantial_a good_n in_o like_a solomon_n be_v a_o very_a sufficient_a evidence_n in_o this_o case_n no_o man_n can_v enjoy_v more_o in_o this_o life_n than_o he_o do_v and_o he_o declare_v all_o that_o enjoyment_n to_o be_v vanity_n and_o vexation_n of_o spirit_n and_o if_o you_o desire_v to_o be_v satisfy_v by_o a_o live_a witness_n in_o this_o matter_n and_o will_v ask_v any_o man_n that_o you_o think_v have_v enjoy_v the_o great_a portion_n of_o health_n and_o prosperity_n and_o long_a life_n whether_o he_o think_v he_o have_v always_o be_v a_o very_a happy_a man_n and_o whither_o if_o he_o be_v put_v to_o his_o think_v himself_o happy_a but_o if_o by_o chance_n such_o a_o man_n shall_v be_v find_v that_o affect_v to_o be_v singular_a to_o maintain_v paradox_n and_o will_v say_v that_o his_o past_a life_n have_v be_v altogether_o to_o his_o mind_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v very_o glad_a to_o live_v the_o same_o over_o again_o and_o that_o therefore_o death_n must_v needs_o be_v very_o evil_a because_o it_o cut_v he_o off_o from_o so_o desirable_a a_o good_n we_o must_v refute_v such_o a_o man_n by_o show_v the_o nature_n of_o these_o enjoyment_n and_o what_o kind_n of_o possession_n a_o man_n can_v have_v of_o they_o and_o the_o enjoyment_n that_o be_v peculiar_a to_o this_o life_n for_o as_o for_o intellectual_a pleasure_n which_o arise_v either_o from_o the_o contemplation_n of_o god_n work_n or_o the_o study_n of_o the_o art_n and_o science_n or_o the_o constant_a practice_n of_o virtue_n which_o be_v the_o great_a pleasure_n a_o rational_a creature_n can_v have_v these_o pleasure_n will_v be_v have_v in_o much_o great_a perfection_n in_o another_o life_n i_o say_v the_o enjoyment_n that_o be_v peculiar_a to_o this_o life_n and_o from_o which_o we_o be_v cut_v off_o by_o death_n be_v either_o of_o worldly_a honour_n riches_n or_o sensual_a pleasure_n for_o so_o st._n john_n reduce_v they_o to_o these_o head_n all_o that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n say_v he_o be_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n the_o lust_n of_o the_o eye_n and_o the_o pride_n of_o life_n these_o thing_n indeed_o be_v peculiar_a to_o this_o life_n and_o death_n will_v for_o ever_o take_v they_o from_o we_o after_o we_o have_v take_v the_o great_a pain_n to_o compass_v they_o now_o a_o man_n must_v have_v a_o very_a mean_a and_o narrow_a mind_n that_o can_v think_v that_o the_o happiness_n of_o a_o rational_a creature_n can_v consist_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n the_o vile_a beast_n or_o most_o inconsiderable_a infect_v be_v then_o capable_a of_o almost_o as_o much_o happiness_n as_o the_o best_a or_o wise_a man._n but_o suppose_v a_o man_n by_o long_o accustom_v himself_o to_o sensuality_n have_v bring_v himself_o to_o such_o low_a and_o brutish_a thought_n by_o drink_v deep_a of_o such_o entoxicate_a cup_n of_o sensual_a pleasure_n be_v become_v with_o vlysses_n companion_n little_a other_o than_o a_o swine_n yet_o if_o he_o have_v the_o least_o spark_n of_o reason_v leave_v in_o he_o if_o he_o can_v see_v but_o the_o length_n of_o one_o consequence_n he_o can_v but_o see_v that_o these_o pleasure_n how_o satisfactory_a soever_o they_o be_v to_o he_o be_v not_o durable_a that_o they_o must_v be_v short_a at_o the_o best_a and_o that_o a_o thousand_o accident_n may_v snatch_v they_o from_o he_o every_o moment_n now_o the_o more_o a_o man_n value_v and_o be_v in_o love_n with_o these_o enjoyment_n the_o more_o this_o thought_n must_v vex_v and_o torment_v he_o that_o he_o must_v part_v with_o they_o and_o he_o know_v not_o how_o soon_o to_o a_o man_n that_o be_v indifferent_a this_o be_v nothing_o but_o to_o he_o that_o have_v set_v his_o affection_n on_o these_o thing_n this_o be_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n it_o embitter_v and_o spoil_v all_o his_o to_o morrow_n we_o shall_v die_v this_o be_v but_o a_o copy_n of_o his_o countenance_n this_o think_v gall_n he_o at_o the_o heart_n at_o the_o same_o time_n that_o he_o pretend_v therewith_o to_o always_o make_v his_o heart_n sad_a that_o he_o must_v die_v and_o leave_v all_o but_o now_o to_o a_o man_n of_o a_o large_a and_o wise_a mind_n these_o low_a pleasure_n be_v of_o little_a or_o no_o value_n he_o look_v far_o beyond_o they_o and_o be_v even_o quite_o weary_a with_o be_v so_o long_o clog_v and_o darken_v in_o this_o case_n of_o flesh_n with_o be_v confine_v to_o this_o earth_n to_o creep_v like_o a_o worm_n upon_o it_o and_o to_o be_v keep_v continual_o to_o the_o same_o dull_a round_n of_o thing_n which_o he_o go_v through_o almost_o in_o the_o same_o manner_n every_o day_n of_o his_o life_n this_o be_v so_o tiresome_a to_o the_o active_a search_a nature_n of_o our_o spirit_n that_o it_o can_v endure_v it_o and_o therefore_o the_o ancient_n have_v a_o fable_n of_o a_o man_n that_o may_v have_v be_v immortal_a if_o he_o will_v but_o he_o be_v so_o sate_v with_o the_o same_o thing_n over_o and_o over_o again_o in_o life_n that_o he_o choose_v rather_o to_o die_v that_o he_o may_v have_v the_o satisfaction_n of_o see_v another_o scene_n of_o thing_n and_o the_o noble_a heavenborn_a mind_n of_o he_o that_o have_v not_o debase_v and_o plunge_v it_o in_o the_o mire_n of_o sensuality_n must_v needs_o be_v desirous_a of_o make_v great_a discovery_n than_o be_v to_o be_v have_v here_o below_o he_o must_v long_o to_o see_v and_o know_v those_o glorious_a orb_n of_o which_o he_o now_o know_v nothing_o or_o what_o be_v next_o to_o nothing_o and_o yet_o mighty_o admire_v at_o a_o distance_n to_o range_v through_o the_o mighty_a space_n of_o the_o universe_n and_o to_o have_v his_o mind_n continual_o entertain_v and_o feast_v with_o clear_a and_o certain_a knowledge_n of_o the_o wonderful_a operation_n of_o his_o maker_n to_o have_v his_o mind_n always_o more_o and_o more_o inform_v and_o enlighten_v with_o the_o most_o please_a and_o satisfactory_a knowledge_n of_o god_n his_o glorious_a attribute_n and_o wonderful_a work_n and_o yet_o never_o to_o want_v new_a matter_n of_o information_n to_o a_o man_n who_o mind_n be_v raise_v to_o these_o noble_a desire_n death_n be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v a_o evil_a that_o it_o be_v the_o most_o desirable_a good_n it_o be_v like_o the_o open_n of_o the_o eye_n to_o a_o man_n that_o be_v bear_v blind_a like_o the_o unpinion_n or_o unshackle_n of_o a_o prisoner_n and_o let_v he_o out_o of_o a_o strait_a dark_a and_o foul_a dungeon_n into_o the_o free_a and_o unrestrained_a enjoyment_n of_o all_o that_o he_o can_v wish_v or_o desire_v so_o that_o neither_o to_o the_o fool_n who_o dote_v on_o these_o those_o we_o term_v unhappy_a in_o the_o world_n who_o certain_o make_v no_o small_a part_n of_o it_o such_o as_o be_v the_o blind_a the_o lame_a the_o maim_a the_o disease_a the_o poor_a and_o to_o discern_v that_o it_o be_v a_o evil_a thing_n and_o bitter_a to_o sin_n against_o the_o live_a god_n and_o that_o no_o sinful_a enjoyment_n whatsoever_o can_v compensate_a our_o loss_n as_o our_o
