never_o forget_v but_o still_o almost_o as_o fresh_a in_o memory_n as_o when_o they_o be_v new_a speak_v those_o word_n which_o be_v speak_v by_o a_o love_a father_n upon_o his_o death_n bed_n unto_o his_o child_n take_v great_a effect_n in_o a_o good_a child_n if_o a_o tender_a father_n at_o the_o point_n of_o death_n do_v call_v his_o son_n unto_o he_o and_o utter_v these_o or_o such_o like_a be_v bastard_n and_o no_o son_n we_o can_v not_o if_o we_o love_v the_o lord_n jesus_n but_o remember_v this_o his_o last_o lesson_n which_o he_o give_v we_o for_o his_o farewell_n and_o i_o be_o sure_a unto_o the_o child_n of_o god_n it_o pierce_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o their_o tender_a heart_n to_o hear_v they_o so_o love_o teach_v of_o their_o love_a lord_n than_o any_o other_o rough_a manner_n of_o deal_v because_o they_o be_v child_n and_o not_o slave_n and_o therefore_o serve_v of_o love_n and_o not_o of_o slavish_a fear_n although_o it_o be_v sometime_o needful_a for_o the_o best_a of_o they_o to_o feel_v of_o the_o love_a correction_n of_o their_o love_a father_n for_o the_o tame_n of_o their_o wild_a flesh_n but_o because_o in_o the_o house_n of_o god_n all_o be_v not_o child_n which_o have_v the_o outward_a countenance_n of_o child_n but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a company_n of_o dissemble_a hypocrite_n which_o take_v the_o liberty_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o live_v after_o the_o flesh_n &_o do_v nothing_o but_o only_o make_v a_o mock_n of_o all_o love_a kind_n of_o deal_v &_o laugh_v in_o their_o sleeve_n when_o they_o hear_v any_o such_o exhortation_n because_o they_o will_v not_o be_v teach_v by_o fair_a mean_n and_o as_o you_o will_v say_v by_o manner_n of_o entreaty_n therefore_o the_o lord_n jesus_n for_o their_o cause_n especial_o deal_v after_o a_o other_o sort_n here_o in_o this_o sentence_n and_o call_v this_o same_o his_o admonition_n to_o love_v not_o only_o a_o friendly_a exhortation_n as_o by_o way_n of_o request_n but_o also_o a_o commandment_n not_o only_o a_o matter_n of_o entreaty_n forsooth_o to_o do_v or_o not_o to_o do_v as_o best_o like_v we_o but_o a_o special_a commandment_n to_o be_v do_v whether_o we_o will_v think_v we_o have_v escape_v well_o because_o we_o have_v break_v in_o sunder_o all_o the_o fast_a bond_n of_o love_a exhortation_n we_o shall_v yet_o understand_v he_o be_v our_o prince_n that_o have_v his_o judgement_n seat_n to_o arrayne_a we_o there_o to_o answer_v the_o breach_n of_o his_o bless_a commandment_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o think_v or_o say_v oh_o i_o will_v indeed_o love_v my_o brethren_n but_o it_o be_v at_o leisure_n when_o i_o see_v my_o time_n and_o when_o i_o think_v best_a but_o rather_o think_v because_o it_o be_v command_v we_o we_o must_v do_v it_o whether_o we_o will_v or_o no_o not_o at_o our_o pleasure_n but_o at_o the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o commander_n unless_o we_o be_v guilty_a of_o his_o curse_n in_o his_o judgement_n seat_n so_o than_o you_o see_v what_o we_o have_v to_o mark_v in_o this_o where_o the_o lord_n jesus_n do_v not_o only_o exhort_v but_o command_v we_o to_o love_v one_o a_o other_o that_o be_v that_o we_o not_o only_o have_v a_o cold_a affection_n thereunto_o but_o that_o we_o be_v lively_o touch_v with_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o commander_n set_v before_o our_o eye_n his_o princely_a judgement_n seat_n where_o he_o will_v bring_v in_o trial_n all_o stubborn_a breach_n of_o his_o bless_a commandment_n although_o they_o be_v never_o so_o smooth_o pass_v over_o in_o this_o life_n you_o see_v then_o this_o have_v or_o at_o least_o wise_a aught_o to_o have_v a_o wonderful_a weighty_a force_n with_o it_o where_o the_o lord_n jesus_n fall_v a_o command_a and_o therefore_o ought_v of_o we_o deep_o to_o be_v consider_v and_o not_o cold_o for_o fashion_v embrace_v because_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n that_o not_o only_o will_v but_o command_v it_o but_o alas_o it_o be_v a_o wonderful_a thing_n to_o see_v the_o authority_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n so_o small_o regard_v among_o we_o if_o once_o the_o will_n of_o a_o prince_n be_v but_o know_v it_o be_v a_o wonder_n to_o see_v how_o ready_o we_o be_v to_o frame_v ourselves_o thereunto_o but_o if_o he_o fall_v a_o command_a who_o do_v not_o then_o tremble_v at_o his_o displeasure_n but_o the_o lord_n jesus_n may_v entreat_v pray_v and_o beseech_v nay_o straight_o charge_n and_o command_v and_o for_o all_o that_o not_o regard_v of_o a_o straw_n it_o declare_v certain_o good_a brethren_n that_o there_o be_v no_o fear_n of_o god_n among_o we_o but_o only_o a_o certain_a worldly_a fear_n of_o man_n and_o yet_o the_o one_o kill_v the_o body_n alone_o 28._o the_o other_o throw_v both_o soul_n and_o body_n into_o hell_n fire_n eternal_a oh_o good_a brethren_n let_v we_o not_o deceive_v ourselves_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n that_o command_v we_o let_v we_o obey_v he_o charge_v we_o to_o love_v one_o a_o other_o let_v it_o be_v do_v not_o only_o say_v but_o do_v do_v do_v let_v we_o earnest_o repent_v that_o we_o have_v be_v so_o slack_a in_o do_v this_o commandment_n for_o our_o saviour_n hitherto_o that_o we_o begin_v to_o practice_v it_o that_o there_o may_v be_v love_n among_o we_o and_o not_o such_o brabble_a brawl_a and_o contention_n as_o we_o see_v daily_o and_o be_v too_o lamentable_a but_o like_a to_o good_a scholar_n in_o the_o school_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n let_v we_o have_v love_n and_o peace_n among_o we_o and_o sure_o than_o he_o will_v dwell_v among_o we_o and_o protect_v we_o for_o ever_o now_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o text_n that_o this_o commandment_n
burn_a fire_n then_o what_o have_v thou_o gain_v by_o such_o presume_v upon_o god_n mercy_n and_o harden_v of_o thyself_o in_o thy_o sin_n against_o god_n when_o thy_o pleasure_n be_v turn_v into_o pain_n and_o thy_o security_n and_o ease_n into_o continual_a torment_n alas_o good_a brethren_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o blind_v with_o the_o subtlety_n of_o satan_n for_o the_o gain_n of_o a_o small_a earthly_a trifle_n to_o cast_v away_o soul_n and_o body_n eternal_o 26._o what_o can_v it_o profit_v we_o to_o win_v the_o whole_a world_n and_o loose_v our_o own_o soul_n and_o this_o we_o do_v so_o long_o as_o give_v care_n to_o the_o vain_a allurement_n of_o satan_n we_o continue_v in_o our_o sin_n defer_v the_o time_n of_o our_o repentance_n till_o afterward_o think_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o come_v so_o soon_o you_o see_v then_o the_o lack_n of_o practise_v this_o doctrine_n that_o be_v here_o teach_v unto_o we_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o at_o this_o day_n man_n be_v so_o harden_v in_o their_o sin_n and_o bold_o go_v on_o forward_o to_o eternal_a destruction_n man_n do_v imagine_v with_o themselves_o that_o although_o they_o must_v one_o day_n appear_v before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n yet_o it_o will_v not_o be_v so_o soon_o and_o thereupon_o they_o never_o think_v of_o that_o matter_n but_o devise_v all_o wickedness_n in_o their_o brain_n to_o fill_v their_o purse_n feed_v the_o paunch_n deceive_v their_o neighbour_n and_o general_o all_o other_o spite_n and_o villainy_n against_o god_n and_o man_n and_o all_o because_o they_o think_v themselves_o in_o sure_a case_n that_o the_o day_n of_o repentance_n be_v not_o so_o near_o but_o that_o they_o may_v amend_v all_o this_o gear_n in_o time_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o they_o be_v deceive_v the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o it_o will_v come_v soon_o than_o we_o think_v &_o therefore_o amend_v betimes_o lest_o we_o perish_v all_o and_o it_o be_v a_o marvellous_a matter_n to_o see_v how_o wonderful_o the_o adversary_n have_v prevail_v in_o this_o for_o whereas_o god_n will_v have_v we_o always_o in_o readiness_n because_o the_o time_n 〈◊〉_d uncertain_a the_o clean_a contrary_n be_v settle_v in_o our_o heart_n namely_o to_o take_v our_o liberty_n in_o sin_v because_o the_o time_n be_v a_o far_o off_o as_o we_o dream_v and_o this_o persuasion_n be_v so_o deep_o settle_v in_o our_o breast_n that_o if_o man_n be_v admonish_v to_o take_v heed_n of_o their_o deal_n for_o a_o day_n will_v come_v when_o all_o thing_n be_v right_v than_o they_o think_v straightway_o they_o have_v a_o great_a long_a scope_n give_v they_o to_o range_v in_o for_o they_o take_v it_o as_o a_o principle_n most_o sure_o root_v in_o their_o heart_n that_o that_o day_n be_v a_o far_o off_o if_o they_o be_v threaten_v with_o the_o come_n of_o christ_n to_o judgement_n you_o shall_v see_v they_o make_v of_o the_o matter_n no_o more_o but_o a_o scoff_n and_o a_o mock_n oh_o sir_n if_o you_o give_v i_o so_o long_a a_o day_n nay_o then_o i_o shall_v do_v well_o enough_o and_o here_o they_o can_v fall_v to_o gibe_a and_o make_v themselves_o merry_a with_o the_o talk_n of_o the_o welchman_n who_o have_v rob_v a_o man_n of_o his_o budget_n and_o be_v threaten_v that_o he_o shall_v answer_v for_o it_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n make_v answer_v that_o if_o he_o may_v have_v so_o long_a a_o day_n he_o will_v have_v the_o cloak_n too_o and_o thus_o miserable_a caytiff_n they_o think_v they_o have_v notable_o prevail_v when_o thus_o they_o have_v scoff_v out_o the_o matter_n but_o alas_o poor_a soul_n it_o be_v no_o more_o than_o a_o laughter_n from_o the_o tooth_n forward_o for_o when_o they_o have_v put_v from_o they_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o far_o as_o can_v be_v and_o that_o god_n for_o a_o time_n let_v they_o play_v upon_o the_o hook_n yet_o alas_o there_o be_v a_o thing_n within_o their_o breast_n that_o sometime_o will_v sting_v they_o to_o the_o heart_n in_o spite_n of_o their_o tooth_n but_o yet_o herewithal_o you_o see_v how_o common_a this_o be_v among_o man_n that_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o far_o off_o 3._o for_o when_o we_o can_v so_o ready_o give_v such_o answer_n as_o this_o if_o you_o give_v i_o so_o long_a a_o day_n etc._n etc._n sure_o we_o bewray_v our_o own_o heart_n unaware_o that_o we_o be_v persuade_v in_o our_o breast_n that_o it_o be_v long_o to_o that_o day_n and_o the_o same_o opinion_n have_v we_o in_o like_a manner_n of_o the_o day_n of_o our_o death_n there_o be_v scarce_o find_v among_o we_o any_o so_o old_a but_o he_o will_v think_v he_o may_v live_v one_o year_n long_o or_o at_o least_o one_o month_n or_o one_o day_n so_o far_o he_o be_v off_o from_o think_v on_o his_o death_n if_o we_o be_v young_a oh_o then_o we_o think_v ourselves_o as_o sure_a from_o die_v as_o god_n have_v seal_v we_o his_o letter_n patent_n for_o our_o life_n till_o old_a age_n and_o hereupon_o it_o come_v that_o in_o our_o lusty_a youth_n as_o they_o term_v it_o we_o never_o think_v to_o make_v ourselves_o ready_a to_o god-ward_o nay_o so_o far_o be_v we_o from_o all_o 〈◊〉_d of_o god_n that_o unless_o we_o play_v the_o wild_a colt_n in_o all_o licentiousness_n and_o sin_n we_o think_v we_o have_v not_o well_o spend_v our_o youth_n according_a to_o the_o course_n of_o nature_n and_o into_o such_o beastliness_n we_o be_v go_v that_o we_o have_v frame_v a_o heathenish_a nay_o worse_o than_o heathenish_a rather_o a_o devilish_a proverb_n a_o young_a saint_n a_o old_a devil_n as_o if_o so_o be_v we_o shall_v begin_v to_o be_v holy_a in_o our_o young_a age_n it_o be_v the_o next_o way_n to_o make_v we_o devil_n when_o we_o be_v old_a and_o as_o though_o it_o be_v the_o best_a way_n to_o be_v a_o devil_n in_o thy_o young_a age_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v make_v a_o good_a holy_a man_n in_o thy_o old_a age_n but_o i_o pray_v thou_o what_o if_o thy_o god_n call_v thou_o while_o thou_o be_v a_o young_a devil_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o thou_o in_o thy_o old_a age_n if_o the_o lord_n cut_v thy_o year_n short_a and_o make_v a_o end_n of_o thy_o life_n while_o thou_o be_v play_v the_o young_a lusty_a devil_n i_o warrant_v thou_o thou_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o be_v neither_o old_a saint_n nor_o young_a saint_n this_o i_o speak_v good_a brethren_n with_o grief_n of_o heart_n to_o see_v into_o what_o miserable_a blindness_n we_o be_v tumble_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o god_n have_v hide_v from_o we_o so_o secret_a to_o himself_o the_o day_n of_o his_o come_n and_o the_o day_n of_o our_o death_n as_o though_o we_o be_v of_o god_n counsel_n we_o will_v be_v so_o cunning_a in_o it_o as_o if_o he_o have_v not_o only_o reveal_v it_o unto_o we_o but_o also_o have_v seal_v unto_o we_o the_o assurance_n of_o it_o and_o all_o this_o we_o do_v that_o we_o may_v more_o bold_o sin_n without_o controlment_n think_v when_o we_o be_v old_a we_o will_v then_o begin_v to_o frame_v ourselves_o to_o godliness_n but_o alas_o good_a brethren_n we_o deceive_v ourselves_o it_o be_v not_o so_o we_o have_v no_o assurance_n of_o our_o life_n we_o can_v not_o tell_v when_o it_o shall_v please_v our_o god_n to_o call_v we_o at_o midnight_n noonetide_v or_o cockerowe_v we_o be_v not_o certain_a one_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n to_o live_v and_o therefore_o let_v we_o not_o drive_v off_o from_o day_n to_o day_n and_o think_v he_o will_v amend_v lest_o he_o come_v upon_o we_o unwares_o and_o find_v we_o unprepared_a take_v heed_n good_a brethren_n that_o we_o do_v not_o flatter_v ourselves_o to_o think_v i_o be_o but_o young_a &_o i_o trust_v i_o shall_v not_o die_v so_o soon_o i_o will_v take_v the_o pleasure_n of_o my_o youth_n a_o while_n and_o when_o i_o begin_v to_o be_v old_a i_o will_v then_o whole_o apply_v myself_o to_o god_n will_v or_o thus_o although_o i_o be_v some_o what_o age_v yet_o i_o trust_v i_o shall_v not_o go_v so_o soon_o i_o thank_v god_n i_o feel_v myself_o strong_a and_o lusty_a i_o can_v eat_v my_o meat_n well_o and_o i_o will_v not_o yet_o settle_v myself_o to_o be_v ready_a when_o god_n call_v i_o i_o may_v continue_v yet_o a_o little_a while_n in_o not_o see_v both_o daily_a and_o hourly_o how_o that_o the_o lord_n call_v as_o well_o the_o young_a as_o the_o old_a and_o what_o patent_n have_v we_o of_o our_o life_n that_o we_o be_v not_o in_o the_o number_n do_v we_o not_o see_v that_o god_n call_v man_n even_o sudden_o when_o they_o be_v in_o as_o good_a health_n as_o can_v be_v yea_o even_o when_o they_o be_v eat_v their_o meat_n at_o dinner_n even_o sup_v a_o egg_n be_v the_o last_o breath_n that_o ever_o they_o draw_v wherefore_o do_v the_o lord_n this_o but_o only_o to_o let_v we_o understand_v and_o see_v before_o our_o eye_n how_o soon_o our_o life_n be_v go_v that_o so_o we_o may_v always_o be_v in_o readiness_n we_o see_v these_o thing_n continual_o and_o yet_o alas_o how_o small_o we_o profit_v by_o they_o wherefore_o year_n here_o be_v nothing_o with_o he_o but_o cherish_v the_o belly_n and_o pamper_v the_o body_n as_o though_o god_n have_v put_v life_n into_o he_o and_o set_v he_o in_o this_o world_n for_o none_o other_o end_n but_o like_o a_o bruit_n beast_n to_o cram_v up_o his_o belly_n to_o the_o courge_n and_o feed_v himself_o fat_a against_o the_o 〈◊〉_d of_o slaughter_n this_o miserable_a caitiff_n true_a debt_n in_o deed_n the_o true_a debt_n which_o we_o owe_v our_o god_n in_o deed_n for_o our_o sin_n be_v the_o everlasting_a curse_n of_o god_n which_o never_o have_v end_n it_o be_v not_o a_o certain_a punishment_n of_o the_o body_n for_o a_o certain_a time_n that_o be_v but_o false_a and_o forge_a of_o our_o own_o head_n that_o be_v not_o the_o right_a debt_n be_v it_o not_o a_o intolerable_a thing_n and_o not_o to_o be_v suffer_v before_o a_o mortal_a judge_n when_o as_o the_o right_a debt_n be_v a_o thousand_o pound_n to_o bring_v in_o stead_n thereof_o a_o false_a forge_a weighty_a and_o heavy_a both_o for_o the_o masser_n and_o the_o mass_n itself_o to_o overcome_v the_o torment_n of_o everlasting_a death_n that_o can_v not_o recompense_v god_n there_o for_o our_o sin_n see_v the_o true_a and_o only_a recompense_n be_v to_o undergo_v the_o torment_n of_o hell_n due_a for_o all_o our_o sin_n neither_o can_v their_o forge_a purgatory_n pain_n be_v a_o recompense_n to_o god_n for_o our_o sin_n because_o the_o true_a debt_n which_o must_v be_v answer_v be_v infinite_a and_o without_o end_n the_o full_a punishment_n which_o we_o owe_v for_o our_o sin_n be_v incomprehensible_a and_o infinite_a even_o as_o our_o god_n against_o who_o the_o offence_n be_v commit_v all_o these_o then_o and_o whatsoever_o have_v be_v devise_v by_o man_n will_v that_o can_v and_o will_v pay_v it_o for_o we_o and_o if_o we_o have_v find_v out_o such_o a_o one_o that_o will_v undertake_v the_o debt_n for_o we_o we_o be_v discharge_v we_o shall_v see_v good_a breethen_n if_o we_o will_v be_v conversant_a in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o the_o lord_n god_n have_v be_v as_o careful_a for_o we_o in_o this_o point_n as_o any_o of_o we_o can_v be_v careful_a their_o sin_n even_o to_o the_o full_a with_o that_o self_n same_o punishment_n which_o he_o himself_o have_v appoint_v &_o this_o which_o he_o have_v suffer_v be_v a_o full_a recompense_n for_o all_o our_o sin_n according_a as_o the_o holy_a ghost_n allege_v if_o any_o man_n sin_n we_o have_v a_o advocate_n with_o the_o father_n 2._o even_o jesus_n christ_n the_o righteous_a and_o he_o be_v the_o our_o sin_n so_o much_o as_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n deserve_v it_o shall_v seem_v then_o that_o all_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v save_v but_o we_o see_v the_o clean_a contrary_n 13._o even_o by_o the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n himself_o who_o say_v that_o many_o run_v to_o damnation_n and_o few_o in_o comparison_n to_o salvation_n how_o can_v this_o be_v then_o that_o christ_n have_v satisfy_v the_o punishment_n of_o all_o our_o sin_n true_a it_o be_v that_o jesus_n christ_n have_v bear_v whatsoever_o be_v due_a for_o all_o our_o sin_n &_o that_o which_o he_o have_v bear_v be_v also_o sufficient_a punishment_n for_o all_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o yet_o as_o true_a it_o be_v also_o that_o a_o great_a number_n be_v damn_v notwithstanding_o and_o that_o because_o they_o have_v not_o the_o hand_n of_o faith_n to_o take_v
of_o love_v one_o another_o be_v a_o new_a commandment_n it_o may_v seem_v strange_a that_o he_o call_v it_o new_a and_o yet_o be_v give_v so_o long_o ago_o by_o the_o lord_n god_n himself_o in_o his_o commandment_n 18._o and_o be_v the_o very_a sum_n of_o the_o whole_a second_o table_n as_o it_o do_v appear_v by_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n his_o own_o interpretation_n 39_o that_o we_o love_v our_o neighbour_n as_o ourself_o this_o then_o seem_v not_o to_o be_v new_a which_o be_v deliver_v to_o moses_n a_o thousand_o year_n before_o &_o more_o true_a it_o be_v our_o saviour_n christ_n do_v not_o here_o call_v it_o new_a as_o though_o it_o have_v never_o be_v utter_v before_o but_o because_o he_o will_v call_v a_o new_a to_o the_o mind_n that_o which_o they_o have_v hear_v of_o old_a out_o of_o the_o law_n before_o he_o call_v it_o therefore_o new_a which_o be_v new_o renew_v again_o in_o memory_n &_o moreover_o also_o now_o at_o his_o death_n because_o he_o will_v have_v it_o stick_v continual_o in_o their_o mind_n as_o a_o thing_n new_a tell_v fresh_a in_o our_o mind_n for_o we_o know_v thing_n that_o be_v old_a do_v or_o speak_v be_v not_o so_o ripe_a in_o our_o head_n as_o that_o that_o be_v new_o do_v or_o speak_v that_o it_o may_v be_v therefore_o unto_o we_o continual_o new_a and_o fresh_a in_o our_o mind_n he_o call_v it_o new_a not_o old_a and_o commandment_n be_v new_a fresh_a and_o green_a in_o our_o mind_n or_o no_o or_o rather_o whether_o it_o be_v so_o old_a unto_o we_o that_o we_o have_v clean_o forget_v it_o i_o be_o afraid_a if_o we_o well_o try_v and_o examine_v ourselves_o we_o shall_v find_v it_o fresh_a and_o new_a among_o a_o very_a few_o or_o none_o of_o we_o but_o so_o old_a that_o it_o be_v even_o at_o the_o last_o cast_v with_o a_o great_a number_n of_o we_o and_o a_o new_a commandment_n come_v in_o the_o room_n of_o it_o not_o from_o jesus_n christ_n but_o satan_n and_o the_o devil_n a_o new_a commandment_n that_o we_o love_v not_o one_o a_o other_o but_o every_o man_n himself_o this_o same_o new_a commandment_n of_o satan_n of_o love_v ourselves_o oh_o it_o be_v marvellous_a rife_a fresh_a and_o new_a among_o we_o but_o the_o new_a commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n of_o love_v one_o a_o other_o it_o be_v so_o stale_a and_o wear_v out_o of_o use_n among_o we_o new-fangled_a englishman_n and_o especial_o among_o we_o norfolk_n man_n if_o jesus_n christ_n have_v give_v we_o this_o commandment_n to_o love_v ourselves_o how_o notable_o can_v we_o have_v practise_v it_o and_o what_o a_o number_n of_o follower_n thereof_o shall_v we_o have_v find_v among_o we_o at_o this_o day_n all_o england_n all_o norfolk_n shall_v have_v be_v find_v very_o perfect_a in_o it_o but_o alas_o good_a brethren_n it_o be_v clean_o contrary_a that_o commandment_n which_o he_o will_v have_v new_a among_o we_o be_v not_o to_o love_v ourselves_o but_o to_o love_v one_o a_o other_o this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v very_o rare_a in_o our_o day_n and_o must_v be_v new_a fresh_a and_o rife_o among_o we_o there_o be_v no_o remedy_n or_o sure_o the_o lord_n will_v begin_v a_o new_a work_n among_o we_o he_o can_v abide_v to_o hear_v his_o commandment_n so_o contemptuous_o and_o despiteful_o tread_v under_o our_o foot_n therefore_o let_v we_o be_v careful_a in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n to_o amend_v that_o which_o be_v amiss_o in_o we_o and_o now_o begin_v to_o embrace_v this_o new_a commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n of_o love_v one_o a_o other_o and_o utter_o forsake_v and_o remove_v that_o old_a satan_n commandment_n of_o love_v of_o ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v be_v right_a disciple_n and_o scholar_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o we_o say_v we_o be_v christian_n and_o hold_v of_o we_o will_v not_o love_v one_o a_o other_o for_o no_o other_o thing_n yet_o at_o the_o least_o let_v we_o love_v one_o a_o other_o for_o jesus_n christ_n sake_n who_o so_o tender_o and_o dear_o love_v we_o that_o he_o give_v his_o own_o life_n for_o we_o if_o not_o for_o his_o sake_n yet_o good_a brethren_n for_o our_o own_o soul_n sake_n which_o shall_v perish_v in_o hell_n everlasting_o thus_o and_o well_o order_v prayer_n yea_o when_o we_o have_v rather_o sigh_v then_o speak_v for_o the_o lord_n in_o this_o case_n regard_v not_o so_o much_o the_o multitude_n of_o word_n as_o he_o look_v to_o the_o meaning_n of_o his_o spirit_n and_o grant_v that_o though_o we_o speak_v never_o a_o word_n for_o even_o as_o a_o father_n have_v a_o young_a infant_n sick_a of_o some_o sore_a disease_n though_o the_o child_n can_v speak_v never_o a_o word_n be_v ready_a to_o help_v it_o and_o if_o it_o can_v speak_v yet_o be_v full_a of_o pain_n can_v not_o call_v for_o thing_n as_o it_o ought_v yet_o if_o the_o mother_n can_v but_o by_o any_o sign_n guess_v at_o the_o meaning_n of_o it_o she_o will_v accept_v as_o much_o of_o it_o as_o if_o it_o have_v speak_v very_o plentiful_o yea_o though_o it_o shall_v say_v one_o thing_n and_o mean_v another_o she_o will_v give_v it_o according_a to_o the_o meaning_n of_o it_o so_o the_o lord_n that_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n towards_o we_o in_o christ_n far_o above_o any_o father_n or_o mother_n though_o he_o delight_v to_o hear_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o yet_o when_o as_o by_o the_o extremity_n of_o our_o misery_n we_o be_v oppress_v or_o distract_v so_o that_o we_o can_v not_o in_o any_o orderly_a manner_n pray_v unto_o he_o as_o we_o ought_v he_o allow_v of_o the_o sigh_n and_o sob_n that_o we_o offer_v up_o unto_o he_o and_o grant_v not_o so_o much_o our_o word_n which_o be_v none_o or_o few_o as_o the_o meaning_n of_o his_o spirit_n which_o be_v plentiful_a in_o us._n hereupon_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o rich_a mercy_n impute_v not_o unto_o his_o servant_n the_o manifold_a rebellion_n of_o the_o flesh_n or_o great_a complaint_n in_o their_o prayer_n as_o not_o unto_o job_n or_o to_o david_n who_o be_v full_a of_o they_o because_o he_o have_v respect_n unto_o the_o meaning_n of_o his_o spirit_n in_o they_o even_o as_o the_o father_n be_v not_o so_o much_o greeve_v or_o offend_v with_o the_o murmur_n impatience_n and_o outcry_n of_o his_o poor_a sick_a child_n as_o he_o by_o the_o least_o token_n guess_v at_o the_o meaning_n of_o he_o and_o take_v that_o in_o good_a part_n what_o shall_v we_o then_o say_v to_o these_o thing_n be_v it_o true_a indeed_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v vouchsafe_v to_o look_v upon_o the_o low_a degree_n of_o his_o servant_n and_o have_v respect_n unto_o poor_a sinful_a creature_n who_o when_o they_o be_v in_o their_o just_a deserve_a misery_n and_o even_o then_o can_v pray_v unto_o he_o one_o word_n aright_o and_o when_o they_o begin_v to_o speak_v and_o their_o tongue_n cleave_v unto_o the_o roof_n of_o their_o mouth_n that_o he_o will_v then_o hear_v their_o sigh_n and_o their_o cry_n yea_o undoubted_o he_o that_o of_o his_o great_a mercy_n will_v not_o quench_v the_o smoke_a flax_n nor_o break_v in_o sunder_o the_o bruise_a reed_n will_v of_o the_o like_a mercy_n hear_v not_o only_o the_o well_o order_a prayer_n of_o his_o church_n but_o even_o the_o very_a cry_n and_o roar_n of_o his_o servant_n though_o they_o be_v like_o the_o pelican_n and_o the_o owl_n yea_o their_o mourning_n though_o they_o be_v like_a unto_o the_o dove_n yea_o when_o they_o say_v nothing_o neither_o indeed_o can_v their_o very_a lobbe_n and_o sigh_n which_o come_v from_o the_o abundance_n of_o a_o trouble_a spirit_n and_o can_v not_o be_v express_v for_o he_o allow_v of_o the_o meaning_n of_o his_o spirit_n which_o work_v those_o thing_n in_o they_o and_o if_o they_o can_v be_v willing_a thereby_o to_o perform_v better_a service_n unto_o he_o what_o can_v be_v more_o comfortable_a unto_o we_o then_o this_o in_o all_o our_o necessity_n let_v we_o then_o with_o great_a boldness_n go_v unto_o the_o lord_n by_o christ_n and_o though_o we_o can_v utter_v many_o word_n yet_o 〈◊〉_d we_o speak_v unto_o he_o for_o sure_o the_o acceptation_n of_o our_o prayer_n consist_v not_o in_o the_o multitude_n or_o well_o place_v of_o our_o word_n but_o in_o the_o request_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o can_v pray_v but_o two_o word_n and_o say_v with_o the_o publican_n lord_n be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o a_o sinner_n with_o the_o apostle_n lord_n increase_v my_o faith_n or_o with_o the_o blind_a man_n o_o son_n of_o david_n have_v mercy_n upon_o i_o or_o with_o the_o thief_n on_o the_o cross_n lord_n remember_v i_o this_o short_a thing_n proceed_v from_o the_o spirit_n in_o we_o and_o offer_v up_o in_o the_o mediation_n of_o christ_n jesus_n and_o in_o the_o virtue_n of_o affliction_n minister_v this_o sovereign_a medicine_n against_o the_o contagion_n thereof_o namely_o that_o all_o affliction_n come_v to_o the_o believer_n not_o for_o their_o hurt_n but_o for_o their_o singular_a good_a see_v that_o they_o do_v befall_v they_o not_o
