foreordain_v before_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n but_o be_v manifest_a in_o these_o last_o time_n for_o you_o who_o do_v by_o he_o believe_v in_o god_n etc._n etc._n 2_o it_o be_v so_o there_o be_v a_o necessity_n that_o christ_n shall_v be_v the_o mediator_n of_o this_o covenant_n without_o which_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o his_o people_n shall_v have_v the_o grace_n of_o the_o covenant_n this_o be_v the_o way_n ordain_v by_o the_o father_n for_o the_o conveyance_n of_o grace_n and_o glory_n to_o his_o people_n and_o the_o way_n for_o his_o people_n to_o come_v up_o to_o he_o joh._n 14._o 6._o heb._n 10._o 19_o 20._o so_o that_o here_o be_v a_o necessity_n for_o christ_n to_o be_v the_o mediator_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n 3_o there_o be_v and_o be_v a_o necessity_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o fall_v miserable_a state_n of_o man_n by_o nature_n and_o the_o weak_a poor_a state_n of_o believer_n through_o the_o remainder_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o nature_n that_o without_o it_o there_o be_v no_o way_n of_o redemption_n from_o wrath_n nor_o of_o stand_v and_o persevere_v nor_o boldness_n to_o come_v to_o god_n but_o alone_o by_o and_o through_o the_o mediator_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n so_o that_o it_o appear_v here_o be_v a_o necessity_n for_o christ_n to_o be_v the_o mediator_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n to_o wit_n for_o and_o in_o behalf_n of_o his_o people_n interest_v in_o the_o covenant_n for_o the_o give_v forth_o of_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o the_o covenant_n unto_o they_o 2_o why_o it_o be_v so_o first_o because_o he_o be_v thereunto_o appoint_v of_o god_n and_o it_o be_v his_o office_n and_o his_o work_n to_o be_v mediate_a in_o behalf_n of_o his_o people_n and_o therefore_o in_o it_o christ_n answer_v the_o father_n will_n and_o they_o he_o be_v become_v their_o good_a shepherd_n and_o bishop_n to_o wit_n overseer_n of_o their_o soul_n he_o have_v undertake_v according_a to_o the_o father_n will_n to_o take_v the_o care_n of_o all_o the_o sheep_n and_o to_o see_v that_o they_o do_v not_o perish_v and_o he_o be_v enable_v to_o it_o by_o the_o very_a power_n of_o the_o father_n that_o he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o accomplish_v it_o it_o be_v that_o salvation_n may_v be_v sure_a sure_a mercy_n isay_n 55._o 3._o sure_a support_n and_o preservation_n from_o enemy_n that_o they_o may_v be_v sure_o and_o safe_o get_v every_o blessing_n etc._n etc._n answ_n i_o must_v in_o my_o answer_n to_o this_o question_n say_v as_o i_o have_v say_v before_o touch_v the_o covenant_n itself_o viz._n that_o although_o the_o covenant_n be_v absolute_a yet_o there_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o covenant_n so_o i_o say_v although_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o mediator_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o lord_n people_n to_o seek_v after_o every_o good_a thing_n they_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o what_o ever_o christ_n have_v undertake_v to_o mediate_v for_o as_o far_o as_o they_o be_v enlighten_v in_o it_o they_o be_v to_o seek_v after_o it_o and_o indeed_o it_o be_v by_o virtue_n of_o the_o mediatorship_n of_o christ_n that_o they_o have_v that_o liberty_n and_o privilege_n and_o may_v have_v that_o boldness_n so_o that_o christ_n be_v a_o mediator_n to_o procure_v for_o the_o saint_n whatever_o they_o pray_v for_o in_o faith_n according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o right_a end_n and_o to_o procure_v all_o good_a for_o they_o even_o what_o they_o through_o ignorance_n pray_v not_o for_o the_o saint_n prayer_n can_v be_v available_a but_o as_o in_o christ_n their_o mediator_n for_o out_o of_o he_o god_n be_v a_o consume_a fire_n but_o in_o he_o and_o in_o he_o alone_o be_v he_o full_a of_o love_n and_o grace_n a_o god_n pardon_v iniquity_n
