tongue_n this_o be_v to_o show_v that_o there_o can_v not_o be_v the_o least_o comfort_n the_o least_o ease_n the_o least_o quietness_n of_o conscience_n and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o great_a part_n of_o hell_n some_o have_v think_v hell_n to_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o torment_n and_o horror_n of_o conscience_n but_o the_o scripture_n can_v so_o be_v put_v off_o yet_o certain_o this_o be_v the_o hell_n of_o hell_n the_o great_a part_n of_o destruction_n that_o the_o guilt_n of_o a_o man_n sin_n shall_v perpetual_o gnaw_v and_o tear_v his_o conscience_n which_o will_v then_o be_v awaken_v and_o will_v fall_v like_o so_o much_o scald_a lead_n into_o the_o eye_n of_o a_o man_n and_o if_o a_o good_a conscience_n be_v a_o continual_a feast_n that_o torment_v disquiet_v conscience_n in_o hell_n will_v be_v a_o continual_a unspeakable_a evil_n oh_o we_o see_v but_o what_o the_o very_a drop_n of_o this_o torment_n have_v wrought_v upon_o man_n cain_n go_v up_o and_o outward_a help_n and_o comfort_n from_o other_o here_o in_o this_o world_n though_o we_o many_o time_n be_v in_o grievous_a loss_n yet_o some_o comfort_n from_o a_o friend_n be_v like_o the_o pleasant_a shower_n to_o the_o parch_a ground_n and_o though_o they_o can_v deliver_v out_o of_o trouble_n yet_o a_o word_n of_o comfort_n do_v much_o refresh_v but_o here_o the_o destroy_a sinner_n be_v exclude_v from_o comfort_n and_o friend_n and_o all_o when_o absolom_n be_v shut_v out_o of_o david_n presence_n than_o there_o be_v a_o joab_n to_o mediate_v for_o favour_n again_o but_o when_o this_o destruction_n be_v than_o no_o saint_n or_o angel_n can_v either_o comfort_v or_o help_v we_o yea_o which_o be_v sad_a of_o all_o than_o that_o mediatory_a office_n of_o christ_n do_v cease_v then_o there_o be_v no_o advocate_n to_o make_v intercession_n then_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n will_v do_v no_o good_a in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o that_o guilt_n and_o trouble_n for_o sin_n we_o desirable_a mercy_n so_o this_o state_n of_o destruction_n lie_v not_o in_o the_o sustain_n of_o one_o or_o many_o misery_n but_o the_o aggregation_n and_o conflux_n of_o all_o therefore_o the_o scripture_n express_v it_o under_o many_o name_n of_o terror_n sometime_o darkness_n utter_a darkness_n sometime_o a_o prison_n and_o chain_n of_o darkness_n therein_o sometime_o fire_n and_o
