county_n for_o if_o they_o have_v the_o jury_n may_v have_v be_v summon_v out_o of_o that_o county_n in_o who_o body_n the_o port_n and_o haven_n lie_v whereon_o the_o death_n and_o maim_n of_o a_o man_n shall_v happen_v for_o to_o have_v try_v the_o same_o but_o the_o port_n and_o havens_n be_v not_o within_o the_o body_n of_o county_n so_o that_o the_o death_n and_o maim_n of_o a_o man_n thereon_o can_v not_o be_v try_v by_o a_o jury_n summon_v out_o of_o a_o proper_a county_n according_a to_o the_o course_n of_o the_o common_a law_n therefore_o in_o express_a term_n be_v the_o out_o of_o the_o ground_n of_o this_o argument_n may_v be_v deduce_v a_o far_o large_a debate_n which_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o many_o difference_n between_o the_o civil_a and_o common_a law_n in_o this_o point_n will_v be_v too_o tedious_a i_o shall_v therefore_o insist_v no_o long_o thereupon_o but_o come_v to_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o this_o statute_n viz._n nevertheless_o of_o the_o death_n of_o a_o man_n and_o a_o maihme_n etc._n etc._n which_o have_v be_v more_o proper_o insert_v among_o the_o particular_n which_o concern_v the_o admiral_n jurisdiction_n upon_o the_o port_n and_o havens_n but_o be_v here_o by_o sir_n edward_n coke_n enforce_v all_o together_o i_o can_v here_o let_v it_o pass_v without_o the_o observation_n due_a unto_o it_o he_o as_o i_o show_v before_o cap._n in_o this_o chapter_n render_v this_o part_n of_o the_o statute_n thus_o nevertheless_o of_o the_o death_n of_o man_n and_o a_o maihme_n do_v in_o great_a ship_n be_v and_o hover_v in_o the_o main_a stream_n of_o great_a river_n only_o beneath_o the_o point_n of_o the_o same_o river_n and_o in_o no_o other_o place_n of_o the_o same_o river_n the_o admiral_n shall_v have_v cognizance_n only_o beneath_o the_o point_n of_o these_o great_a river_n which_o the_o original_n set_v down_o pontz_n and_o poulton_n translation_n render_v bridges_n all_o that_o be_v beneath_o the_o point_n of_o great_a river_n it_o be_v well_o know_v and_o have_v always_o be_v account_v the_o main_a sea_n so_o that_o by_o this_o construction_n of_o this_o part_n of_o the_o statute_n he_o have_v limit_v the_o admiral_n jurisdiction_n to_o the_o death_n of_o a_o man_n only_o and_o a_o maihme_n and_o arrest_v of_o great_a ship_n etc._n etc._n and_o that_o upon_o the_o main_a sea_n only_o and_o will_v not_o allow_v he_o either_o contract_n or_o covenant_n make_v at_o land_n of_o or_o for_o business_n there_o do_v nor_o the_o cognizance_n of_o any_o thing_n do_v upon_o the_o havens_n but_o howsoever_o after_o this_o his_o construction_n of_o this_o word_n he_o present_o with_o one_o and_o the_o same_o breath_n somewhat_o contradict_v himself_o for_o in_o his_o very_a exposition_n of_o this_o clause_n he_o say_v thus_o this_o latter_a clause_n give_v the_o admiral_n jurisdiction_n in_o case_n of_o death_n and_o maihme_n with_o neither_o of_o which_o we_o ever_o meddle_v but_o with_o all_o other_o thing_n happen_v within_o the_o thames_n or_o any_o other_o river_n port_n or_o water_n which_o be_v within_o any_o county_n of_o the_o realm_n so_o that_o the_o cognisance_n of_o this_o death_n and_o maihme_n which_o before_o be_v allow_v the_o admiral_n only_o beneath_o the_o point_n be_v now_o acknowledge_v never_o to_o have_v be_v meddle_v with_o at_o all_o by_o the_o judge_n of_o the_o land_n though_o do_v upon_o the_o thames_n or_o any_o other_o river_n or_o port_n but_o only_o other_o thing_n there_o happen_v but_o how_o due_o that_o be_v do_v have_v be_v before_o examine_v upon_o his_o very_a proposal_n of_o these_o two_o statute_n and_o what_o he_o promise_v shall_v appear_v afterward_o he_o apprehend_v that_o all_o man_n must_v needs_o grant_v which_o prove_v far_o otherwise_o that_o the_o admiral_n have_v no_o jurisdiction_n or_o power_n upon_o the_o port_n and_o havens_n more_o than_o what_o this_o clause_n give_v he_o and_o therefore_o say_v he_o this_o
