the_o same_o realm_n for_o the_o only_a defence_n of_o christian_a people_n against_o the_o infidel_n and_o now_o they_o be_v claim_v and_o demand_v as_o mere_a duty_n only_o for_o lucre_n against_o pay_v for_o the_o expedition_n of_o bull_n of_o archbishopric_n and_o bishopric_n the_o sum_n of_o eight_o hundred_o thousand_o ducat_n amount_v in_o sterling_a money_n at_o the_o least_o to_o eightscore_o thousand_o pound_n beside_o other_o great_a and_o intolerable_a sum_n which_o have_v yearly_o be_v convey_v to_o the_o say_a court_n of_o rome_n by_o many_o other_o way_n and_o mean_n to_o the_o great_a impoverishment_n of_o this_o realm_n and_o albeit_o that_o our_o say_a sovereign_n the_o king_n and_o all_o his_o natural_a subject_n as_o well_o spiritual_a as_o temporal_a be_v as_o obedient_a devout_a catholic_n and_o humble_a child_n of_o god_n and_o holy_a church_n as_o any_o people_n be_v within_o any_o realm_n christen_v yet_o the_o say_a exaction_n of_o annates_fw-la or_o first-fruit_n be_v so_o intolerable_a and_o importable_a to_o this_o realm_n that_o it_o be_v consider_v and_o declare_v by_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o this_o realm_n now_o represent_v by_o all_o the_o estate_n of_o the_o same_o assemble_v in_o this_o present_a parliament_n that_o the_o king_n highness_n before_o almighty_a god_n be_v bind_v as_o by_o the_o duty_n of_o a_o good_a christian_a prince_n for_o the_o conservation_n and_o preservation_n of_o the_o good_a estate_n and_o commonwealth_n of_o this_o his_o realm_n to_o do_v all_o that_o in_o he_o be_v to_o obviate_v repress_v and_o redress_v the_o say_a abusion_n and_o exaction_n of_o annates_fw-la or_o first-fruit_n and_o because_o that_o divers_a prelate_n of_o this_o realm_n be_v now_o in_o extreme_a age_n and_o in_o other_o debility_n of_o their_o body_n so_o that_o of_o likelihood_n bodily_a death_n in_o short_a time_n shall_v or_o may_v succeed_v unto_o they_o by_o reason_n whereof_o great_a sum_n of_o money_n shall_v short_o after_o their_o death_n be_v convey_v unto_o the_o court_n of_o rome_n for_o the_o unreasonable_a and_o uncharitable_a cause_n abovesaid_a to_o the_o universal_a damage_n prejudice_n and_o impoverishment_n of_o this_o realm_n if_o speedy_a remedy_n be_v not_o in_o due_a time_n provide_v it_o be_v therefore_o ordain_v establish_a and_o enact_v by_o authority_n of_o this_o present_a parliament_n that_o the_o unlawful_a payment_n of_o annates_fw-la or_o first-fruit_n and_o all_o manner_n contribution_n for_o the_o same_o for_o any_o archbishopric_n or_o bishopric_n or_o for_o any_o bull_n hereafter_o to_o be_v obtain_v from_o the_o court_n of_o rome_n to_o or_o for_o the_o foresay_a purpose_n and_o intent_n shall_v from_o henceforth_o utter_o cease_v and_o no_o such_o hereafter_o to_o be_v pay_v for_o any_o archbishopric_n or_o bishopric_n
