christ_n they_o be_v so_o sensible_a of_o their_o own_o want_n weakness_n and_o their_o own_o defect_n of_o grace_n as_o what_o more_o frequent_a complaint_n and_o who_o do_v more_o frequent_o complain_v than_o true_a believer_n and_o there_o be_v never_o a_o true_a believe_a soul_n that_o come_v to_o jesus_n christ_n but_o be_v sensible_a of_o some_o defect_n or_o want_n or_o other_o and_o have_v not_o attain_v to_o perfection_n and_o the_o more_o and_o near_o he_o come_v to_o christ_n still_o the_o more_o sensible_a of_o his_o defect_n and_o want_n o_o none_o so_o weak_a as_o i_o be_o none_o so_o poor_a in_o grace_n as_o i_o be_o none_o so_o weak_a in_o faith_n so_o want_v in_o love_n in_o humility_n in_o patience_n and_o in_o meekness_n as_o i_o and_o o_o none_o have_v such_o a_o cold_a heart_n such_o a_o dead_a heart_n such_o a_o unfruitful_a heart_n as_o i_o have_v you_o will_v say_v where_o be_v this_o same_o full_a supply_n then_o shall_v all_o that_o come_v to_o christ_n have_v a_o full_a supply_n how_o can_v these_o thing_n be_v what_o shall_v we_o say_v then_o that_o those_o that_o make_v such_o complaint_n as_o these_o be_v not_o true_a believer_n no_o god_n work_n to_o convince_v the_o world_n of_o sin_n there_o be_v four_o thing_n propound_v to_o be_v speak_v to_o for_o the_o clear_n of_o this_o point_n 1._o to_o show_v you_o what_o we_o be_v to_o understand_v by_o this_o conviction_n of_o sin_n which_o be_v the_o first_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o wherein_o it_o lay_v and_o that_o you_o hear_v in_o three_o thing_n 2._o you_o hear_v the_o necessity_n of_o it_o why_o this_o work_n of_o convince_a of_o sin_n be_v so_o necessary_a in_o order_n to_o conversion_n and_o salvation_n you_o hear_v the_o necessity_n of_o it_o in_o five_o or_o six_o thing_n upon_o which_o account_n it_o be_v necessary_a in_o order_n to_o salvation_n to_o be_v convince_v of_o sin_n well_o there_o be_v two_o thing_n yet_o remain_v to_o be_v speak_v to_o for_o the_o open_n of_o this_o point_n 3._o the_o three_o thing_n be_v to_o show_v that_o this_o work_n of_o convince_a of_o sin_n be_v the_o proper_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n nothing_o short_a of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n can_v real_o and_o true_o convince_v the_o soul_n of_o sin_n in_o order_n to_o salvation_n and_o then_o 4._o that_o it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n but_o the_o first_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o order_n to_o salvation_n these_o two_o thing_n i_o shall_v now_o proceed_v to_o through_o the_o lord_n assistance_n 3._o well_o then_o we_o be_v to_o appear_v brief_o i_o shall_v give_v you_o two_o or_o three_o demonstration_n of_o it_o 1._o it_o appear_v from_o the_o opposition_n that_o be_v in_o every_o carnal_a heart_n to_o be_v convince_v of_o sin_n there_o be_v a_o desperate_a opposition_n in_o our_o heart_n natural_o we_o be_v utter_o averse_a and_o unwilling_a to_o be_v convince_v of_o sin_n we_o be_v loath_a to_o come_v to_o the_o of_o condemnation_n and_o do_v you_o think_v that_o any_o one_o be_v ready_a to_o yield_v to_o the_o sentence_n of_o its_o own_o condemnation_n now_o if_o a_o soul_n yield_v to_o the_o conviction_n strengthen_v he_o and_o encourage_v he_o and_o lead_v he_o by_o the_o hand_n and_o uphold_v he_o objection_n ay_o but_o you_o will_v say_v alas_o i_o be_o willing_a to_o come_v to_o christ_n but_o i_o as_o well_o as_o we_o can_v by_o our_o own_o duty_n and_o service_n we_o will_v find_v the_o life_n in_o our_o own_o hand_n so_o long_o as_o any_o poor_a soul_n go_v on_o in_o a_o course_n of_o unbelief_n he_o go_v on_o continual_o to_o say_v that_o god_n be_v a_o liar_n o_o brethren_n will_v it_o not_o make_v your_o ear_n tingle_v and_o your_o heart_n ache_v to_o hear_v a_o man_n go_v up_o and_o down_o the_o street_n say_v god_n be_v a_o liar_n i_o will_v not_o believe_v one_o word_n that_o he_o say_v you_o will_v say_v if_o the_o man_n be_v in_o his_o wit_n it_o be_v pity_n that_o he_o be_v suffer_v to_o live_v thus_o to_o blaspheme_v the_o true_a god_n why_o true_o this_o be_v the_o case_n and_o course_n of_o every_o one_o that_o live_v under_o the_o gospel_n under_o this_o record_n that_o god_n do_v bear_v concern_v jesus_n christ_n and_o eternal_a life_n to_o be_v have_v in_o he_o and_o yet_o they_o go_v on_o in_o a_o course_n and_o state_n of_o unbelief_n and_o make_v nothing_o of_o all_o this_o they_o do_v proclaim_v and_o say_v that_o god_n be_v a_o liar_n and_o i_o do_v not_o believe_v one_o word_n that_o he_o say_v what_o desperate_a and_o horrible_a blasphemy_n be_v this_o it_o may_v be_v you_o make_v no_o great_a matter_n of_o this_o but_o notwithstanding_o thus_o it_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v he_o that_o believe_v not_o the_o record_n person_n not_o to_o regard_v this_o o_o it_o be_v a_o despise_n with_o the_o great_a despite_n the_o high_a kindness_n and_o favour_n that_o god_n can_v show_v to_o poor_a sinner_n i_o pray_v do_v sentence_n of_o eternal_a death_n and_o condemnation_n poor_a hopeless_a and_o helpless_a undo_v creature_n we_o be_v all_o under_o a_o sentence_n of_o eternal_a death_n continual_o so_o long_o as_o we_o be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o unbelief_n the_o soul_n that_o sin_v it_o shall_v die_v god_n have_v pronounce_v this_o sentence_n upon_o every_o sinner_n head_n now_o that_o god_n shall_v offer_v and_o tender_a and_o show_v himself_o ready_a to_o show_v kindness_n unto_o poor_a undo_v creature_n poor_a condemn_a creature_n condemn_v to_o eternal_a death_n and_o for_o such_o poor_a creature_n
