devise_v fable_n but_o word_n of_o truth_n and_o power_n as_o shall_v be_v yet_o further_o evince_v and_o see_v we_o have_v former_o parallel_v the_o temptation_n which_o christ_n do_v and_o these_o with_o reference_n to_o they_o that_o have_v not_o repent_v and_o so_o be_v not_o babe_n 2._o to_o they_o who_o be_v babe_n and_o have_v repent_v from_o dead_a work_n 1._o with_o reference_n to_o they_o who_o have_v not_o repent_v and_o be_v not_o yet_o babe_n not_o newborn_a alas_o there_o be_v but_o too_o many_o who_o live_v under_o the_o preach_a and_o profession_n of_o the_o gospel_n &_o be_v call_v christian_n who_o have_v not_o receive_v into_o themselves_o this_o first_o spoonful_n of_o milk_n nor_o learn_v the_o first_o principle_n of_o repentance_n from_o dead_a work_n though_o man_n take_v up_o the_o common_a principle_n which_o i_o name_v above_o but_o new_o yet_o they_o have_v eye_n and_o see_v not_o ear_n and_o hear_v not_o so_o as_o to_o understand_v with_o their_o heart_n to_o be_v convert_v and_o heal_v their_o hear_n and_o see_v do_v not_o affect_v their_o heart_n they_o be_v still_o without_o a_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o sin_n how_o many_o that_o know_v drunkenness_n uncleanness_n etc._n etc._n to_o be_v sin_n and_o that_o they_o live_v in_o such_o sin_n yet_o be_v not_o prick_v at_o heart_n they_o never_o yet_o so_o see_v sin_n as_o to_o feel_v it_o nor_o so_o selt_z it_o as_o to_o confess_v and_o be_v sorry_a for_o it_o or_o never_o so_o complain_v or_o sorrow_v as_o to_o repent_v from_o dead_a work_n to_o cry_v out_o what_o have_v i_o do_v or_o lord_n what_o will_v thou_o have_v i_o to_o do_v they_o have_v do_v more_o than_o enough_o to_o undo_v themselves_o have_v be_v tell_v the_o way_n of_o recover_v and_o save_v themselves_o and_o yet_o these_o thing_n be_v but_o to_o they_o as_o idle_a tale_n and_o we_o be_v to_o they_o as_o let_v to_o his_o son_n in_o law_n like_o they_o that_o moâ—k_v that_o flatter_v they_o with_o promise_n or_o scare_v they_o with_o threaten_n as_o if_o we_o be_v not_o in_o good_a earnest_n but_o that_o they_o may_v yet_o at_o last_o be_v awaken_v and_o if_o peradventure_o god_n may_v give_v they_o repentance_n i_o shall_v entreat_v they_o to_o consider_v these_o thing_n 1._o consider_v this_o that_o all_o the_o common_a principle_n which_o thou_o have_v receive_v from_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n law_n or_o gospel_n will_v not_o be_v sufficient_a to_o justify_v but_o they_o will_v to_o condemn_v thou_o as_o rom._n 1.18_o 21_o etc._n etc._n and_o chap._n 2.14_o 27._o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n will_v one_o day_n sit_v in_o judgement_n upon_o man_n and_o he_o will_v then_o convince_v and_o condemn_v they_o from_o their_o own_o principle_n man_n conscience_n will_v be_v one_o of_o the_o book_n that_o shall_v then_o be_v open_v and_o they_o will_v be_v self-condemned_n as_o for_o example_n suppose_v christ_n jesus_n to_o ask_v these_o question_n do_v not_o you_o believe_v of_o the_o priesthood_n of_o christ_n of_o his_o become_a sin_n for_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v make_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o he_o both_o which_o be_v by_o imputation_n yet_o this_o general_a faith_n carry_v they_o towards_o christ_n jesus_n this_o assent_n lead_v they_o to_o a_o address_v faith_n as_o appear_v in_o these_o follow_a discovery_n of_o it_o 1._o this_o make_v of_o they_o as_o 1._o if_o there_o be_v for_o they_o some_o of_o they_o be_v full_a of_o its_o and_z doubt_n fear_v that_o thou_o be_v no_o work_n or_o that_o they_o be_v but_o hypocrite_n but_o say_v they_o if_o there_o be_v any_o true_a work_n in_o we_o and_o wrought_v by_o we_o it_o be_v of_o god_n
we_o be_v whole_o behold_v to_o he_o for_o it_o we_o can_v justify_v and_o warrant_v our_o repentance_n and_o faith_n for_o sound_n and_o good_a but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o such_o thing_n it_o be_v wrought_v by_o god_n himself_o for_o we_o be_v not_o sufficient_a of_o ourselves_o to_o think_v one_o good_a thought_n in_o we_o there_o dwell_v no_o good_a thing_n if_o we_o be_v accept_v sure_o it_o be_v of_o grace_n in_o the_o belove_a from_o their_o prayer_n for_o mercy_n i_o conclude_v that_o they_o attribute_v all_o to_o mercy_n and_o say_v thanks_o be_v to_o god_n through_o jesus_n christ_n experience_n but_o these_o be_v rich_a only_o in_o wish_n desire_n and_o breathe_n they_o so_o long_o after_o he_o that_o they_o will_v be_v content_a to_o be_v though_o but_o as_o hire_a servant_n any_o thing_n in_o any_o condition_n if_o he_o will_v but_o receive_v they_o yea_o if_o they_o may_v but_o gather_v the_o crumb_n that_o fall_v under_o his_o table_n though_o they_o shall_v not_o have_v the_o child_n bread_n bestow_v upon_o they_o if_o he_o will_v but_o let_v they_o know_v that_o they_o shall_v come_v to_o canaan_n at_o last_o or_o but_o open_a a_o door_n of_o hope_n for_o will_v walk_v in_o this_o darkness_n and_o pain_n all_o their_o day_n rather_o than_o go_v back_o again_o to_o their_o old_a condition_n of_o live_v in_o sin_n they_o will_v rather_o wait_v and_o their_o growth_n naked_a velleity_n and_o idle_a wish_n may_v be_v find_v in_o formalist_n and_o hypocrite_n but_o to_o be_v as_o indeavourous_a as_o desirous_a be_v congruous_a to_o and_o only_o find_v in_o the_o new_a creature_n the_o newborn_a one_o balaam_n can_v profess_v and_o wish_v like_o a_o godly_a man_n but_o he_o instead_o of_o use_v answerable_a endeavour_n practise_v the_o clean_a contrary_n in_o formalist_n the_o end_n only_o be_v desirable_a but_o in_o true_a saint_n the_o mean_n be_v as_o desirable_a be_v not_o only_o the_o way_n to_o but_o a_o part_n of_o their_o
