consequence_n as_o they_o follow_v the_o former_a verse_n first_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n if_o thou_o o_o lord_n shall_v enter_v into_o judgement_n who_o can_v stand_v and_o then_o he_o come_v in_o with_o a_o discourse_n of_o mercy_n and_o second_o as_o in_o order_n so_o he_o temper_v justice_n and_o mercy_n together_o three_o as_o they_o be_v a_o cry_n of_o perplexity_n he_o cry_v in_o the_o first_o verse_n complain_v in_o the_o second_o verse_n fear_n in_o the_o three_o and_o here_o he_o resolve_v to_o set_v upon_o mercy_n the_o first_o point_n from_o the_o first_o of_o these_o be_v that_o we_o can_v neither_o sensible_o nor_o safe_o preach_v mercy_n in_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n unless_o as_o we_o do_v acquaint_v you_o with_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n as_o in_o the_o former_a place_n so_o in_o the_o second_o place_n we_o must_v make_v and_o contemper_n in_o our_o meditation_n the_o thought_n of_o mercy_n with_o the_o thought_n of_o justice_n three_o though_o the_o action_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v short_a yet_o the_o passion_n will_v be_v long_o a_o sin_n may_v be_v soon_o commit_v but_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n be_v not_o so_o soon_o have_v first_o that_o before_o we_o can_v sensible_o or_o safe_o preach_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n unto_o you_o we_o must_v acquaint_v you_o with_o the_o justice_n of_o to_o heaven_n upon_o featherbed_n but_o belove_v i_o have_v rather_o speak_v a_o thousand_o word_n to_o comfort_v then_o one_o to_o discomfort_v but_o it_o be_v for_o the_o good_a of_o your_o soul_n and_o for_o the_o glory_n of_o our_o saviour_n we_o can_v dare_v not_o must_v not_o do_v otherwise_o we_o must_v come_v home_o to_o your_o conscience_n come_v home_o to_o they_o so_o the_o prophet_n so_o the_o apostle_n have_v do_v in_o all_o age_n they_o have_v denounce_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n against_o all_o their_o auditor_n and_o do_v you_o but_o hear_v those_o yell_n that_o be_v now_o
