slip-knot_n at_o the_o end_n go_v and_o show_v it_o unto_o john_n who_o be_v then_o a_o good_a distance_n before_o and_o so_o know_v nothing_o of_o the_o drop_n and_o take_v up_o of_o this_o inkle_n but_o be_v show_v it_o and_o ask_v whether_o he_o know_v it_o shake_v his_o head_n and_o say_v yea_o to_o his_o sorrow_n for_o that_o be_v the_o string_n his_o brother_n strangle_v his_o master_n with_o this_o be_v swear_v upon_o the_o evidence_n at_o their_o trial._n the_o morrow_n be_v the_o lord_n day_n they_o remain_v at_o campden_n where_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o place_n design_v to_o speak_v to_o they_o if_o possible_a to_o persuade_v they_o to_o repentance_n and_o a_o far_a confession_n they_o be_v bring_v to_o church_n and_o in_o their_o way_n thither_o pass_v by_o richard_n house_n two_o of_o his_o child_n meet_v he_o he_o take_v the_o lesser_a in_o his_o arm_n lead_v the_o other_o in_o his_o hand_n when_o on_o a_o sudden_a both_o their_o nose_n fall_v a_o bleed_a which_o be_v look_v upon_o as_o ominous_a here_o it_o will_v be_v no_o impertinent_a digression_n to_o tell_v how_o the_o year_n before_o mr._n harrison_n have_v his_o house_n break_v open_a between_o eleven_o and_o twelve_o o'clock_o at_o noon_n upon_o campden_n market-day_n whilst_o himself_o and_o his_o whole_a family_n be_v at_o the_o lecture_n a_o ladder_n be_v set_v up_o to_o a_o window_n of_o the_o second_o story_n and_o a_o iron_n bar_v wrench_v thence_o with_o a_o ploughshare_n which_o be_v leave_v in_o the_o room_n and_o sevenscore_n pound_n in_o money_n carry_v away_o the_o author_n of_o which_o robbery_n can_v never_o be_v find_v after_o this_o and_o not_o many_o week_n before_o mr._n harrison_n absence_n his_o servant_n perry_n one_o evening_n in_o campden_n garden_n make_v a_o hideous_a outcry_n whereat_o some_o who_o hear_v it_o come_v in_o meet_v he_o run_v and_o seem_o fright_v with_o a_o sheep-pick_a in_o his_o hand_n to_o who_o he_o tell_v a_o formal_a story_n how_o he_o have_v be_v set_v upon_o by_o two_o man_n in_o white_a with_o naked_a sword_n and_o how_o he_o defend_v himself_o with_o his_o sheep-pick_a the_o handle_n whereof_o be_v cut_v in_o two_o or_o three_o place_n and_o likewise_o a_o key_n in_o his_o pocket_n which_o he_o say_v be_v do_v with_o one_o of_o their_o sword_n these_o passage_n the_o justice_n of_o peace_n have_v before_o hear_v and_o call_v to_o mind_n upon_o perry_n confession_n ask_v he_o first_o concern_v the_o robbery_n when_o his_o master_n lose_v sevenscore_n pound_n out_o of_o his_o house_n at_o noonday_n whether_o he_o know_v who_o do_v it_o who_o answer_v yes_o it_o be_v his_o brother_n and_o be_v further_o ask_v whether_o he_o be_v then_o with_o he_o he_o answer_v no_o he_o be_v then_o at_o church_n but_o that_o he_o give_v he_o notice_n of_o the_o money_n and_o tell_v he_o in_o which_o room_n it_o be_v and_o where_o he_o may_v have_v a_o ladder_n that_o will_v reach_v the_o window_n and_o that_o his_o brother_n afterward_o tell_v he_o he_o have_v the_o money_n and_o have_v bury_v it_o in_o his_o garden_n and_o that_o they_o be_v at_o michaelmas_n next_o to_o have_v divide_v it_o whereupon_o search_n be_v make_v in_o the_o garden_n but_o no_o money_n can_v be_v there_o find_v and_o be_v further_o ask_v concern_v that_o other_o passage_n of_o his_o be_v assault_v in_o the_o garden_n he_o confess_v it_o be_v all_o a_o fiction_n and_o that_o have_v a_o design_n to_o rob_v his_o master_n he_o do_v it_o that_o rogue_n be_v believe_v to_o haunt_v the_o place_n when_o his_o master_n be_v rob_v may_v be_v think_v to_o have_v do_v it_o at_o the_o next_o assize_n which_o be_v hold_v in_o september_n follow_v john_n joan_n and_o richard_n perry_n have_v two_o indictment_n find_v against_o they_o one_o for_o break_v into_o william_n harrison_n house_n and_o rob_v he_o of_o 140l_o in_o the_o year_n 1659._o the_o other_o for_o rob_v and_o murder_v the_o say_a william_n harrison_n the_o 16_o of_o august_n 1660._o upon_o the_o last_o indictment_n the_o than_o judge_v of_o assize_n sir_n christopher_n turner_n will_v not_o try_v they_o because_o the_o body_n be_v not_o find_v but_o they_o be_v then_o try_v upon_o the_o other_o indictment_n for_o robbery_n to_o which_o they_o plead_v not_o guilty_a but_o some_o whisper_n behind_o they_o they_o soon_o after_o plead_v guilty_a humble_o beg_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o majesty_n gracious_a pardon_n and_o act_n of_o oblivion_n which_o be_v grant_v they_o but_o though_o they_o plead_v guilty_a to_o this_o indictment_n be_v thereunto_o prompt_v as_o be_v probable_a by_o some_o who_o be_v unwilling_a to_o lose_v time_n and_o trouble_v the_o court_n with_o their_o trial_n in_o regard_n the_o act_n of_o oblivion_n pardon_v they_o yet_o they_o all_o afterward_o and_o at_o their_o death_n deny_v that_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o that_o robbery_n or_o that_o they_o know_v who_o do_v it_o yet_o at_o this_o assize_n as_o several_a credible_a person_n have_v affirm_v john_n perry_n still_o persist_v in_o his_o story_n that_o his_o mother_n and_o brother_n have_v murder_v his_o master_n and_o further_o add_v that_o they_o have_v attempt_v to_o poison_v he_o in_o the_o gaol_n so_o that_o he_o dare_v neither_o eat_v nor_o drink_v with_o they_o at_o the_o next_o assize_n which_o be_v the_o spring_n follow_v john_n joan_n and_o richard_n perry_n be_v by_o the_o then_o judge_v of_o assize_n sir_n b._n hyde_n try_v upon_o the_o indictment_n of_o murder_n and_o plead_v thereunto_o several_o not_o guilty_a and_o when_o john_n confession_n before_o the_o justice_n be_v prove_v viva_n voice_fw-la by_o several_a witness_n who_o hear_v the_o same_o he_o tell_v they_o he_o be_v then_o mad_a and_o know_v not_o what_o he_o say_v the_o other_o two_o richard_n and_o joan_n perry_n say_v that_o they_o be_v whole_o innocent_a of_o what_o they_o be_v accuse_v and_o that_o they_o know_v nothing_o of_o mr._n harrison_n death_n nor_o what_o be_v become_v of_o he_o and_o richard_n say_v that_o his_o brother_n have_v accuse_v other_o as_o well_o as_o he_o to_o have_v murder_v his_o master_n which_o the_o judge_n bid_v he_o prove_v he_o say_v that_o most_o of_o those_o that_o have_v give_v evidence_n against_o he_o know_v it_o but_o name_v none_o not_o any_o one_o speak_v to_o it_o and_o so_o the_o jury_n find_v they_o all_o three_o guilty_a some_o few_o day_n after_o be_v bring_v to_o the_o place_n of_o their_o execution_n which_o be_v on_o broadway-hill_n within_o sight_n of_o campden_n the_o mother_n be_v repute_v a_o witch_n and_o to_o have_v so_o bewitch_v her_o son_n they_o can_v confess_v nothing_o while_o she_o live_v be_v first_o execute_v after_o which_o richard_n be_v upon_o the_o ladder_n profess_v as_o he_o have_v do_v all_o along_o that_o he_o be_v whole_o innocent_a of_o the_o fact_n for_o which_o he_o be_v then_o to_o die_v and_o that_o he_o know_v nothing_o of_o mr._n harrison_n death_n nor_o what_o be_v become_v of_o he_o and_o do_v with_o great_a earnestness_n beg_v and_o beseech_v his_o brother_n for_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o his_o own_o conscience_n to_o declare_v what_o he_o know_v concern_v he_o but_o he_o with_o a_o dogged_a and_o surly_a carriage_n tell_v the_o people_n he_o be_v not_o oblige_v to_o confess_v to_o they_o yet_o immediate_o before_o his_o death_n say_v he_o know_v nothing_o of_o his_o master_n death_n nor_o what_o be_v become_v of_o he_o but_o they_o may_v hereafter_o possible_o hear_v for_o sir_n thomas_n overbury_n knight_n honour_a sir_n in_o obedience_n to_o your_o command_n i_o give_v you_o this_o true_a account_n of_o my_o be_v carry_v away_o beyond_o the_o sea_n my_o continuance_n there_o and_o return_v home_o on_o a_o thursday_n in_o the_o afternoon_n in_o harvest-time_n i_o go_v to_o charringworth_n to_o demand_v rent_n due_a to_o my_o lady_n campden_n at_o which_o time_n the_o tenant_n be_v busy_a in_o the_o field_n and_o late_o ere_o they_o come_v home_o which_o occasion_v my_o stay_n there_o till_o the_o close_a of_o the_o evening_n i_o expect_v a_o considerable_a sum_n but_o receive_v only_o 231._o and_o no_o more_o in_o my_o return_n home_o in_o the_o narrow_a passage_n among_o ebrington_n furze_n there_o meet_v i_o one_o horseman_n and_o say_v be_v thou_o there_o and_o i_o fear_v he_o will_v ride_v over_o i_o strike_v his_o horse_n over_o the_o nose_n whereupon_o he_o strike_v at_o i_o with_o his_o sword_n several_a blow_n and_o run_v it_o into_o my_o
