persuade_v to_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n yet_o sure_o we_o can_v but_o judge_v it_o our_o duty_n and_o our_o interest_n also_o to_o make_v ourselves_o fit_a for_o it_o he_o that_o be_v fit_a to_o die_v be_v fit_a to_o receive_v also_o and_o who_o will_v not_o labour_v hard_a to_o be_v fit_a to_o die_v that_o know_v his_o time_n here_o can_v be_v long_o but_o may_v be_v exceed_o short_a be_v not_o then_o so_o cruel_a to_o your_o own_o soul_n as_o to_o be_v unprepared_a for_o death_n this_o make_v you_o liable_a to_o not_o only_o a_o great_a sorrow_n but_o a_o everlasting_a sorrow_n also_o before_o i_o leave_v this_o matter_n i_o will_v know_v of_o he_o that_o make_v this_o excuse_n that_o he_o be_v not_o fit_a whether_o he_o speak_v as_o he_o think_v do_v you_o real_o judge_v you_o be_v sincere_a and_o do_v not_o dissemble_v with_o god_n you_o may_v be_v fit_v and_o prepare_v for_o this_o service_n object_n 2._o second_o there_o be_v other_o excuse_v themselves_o from_o this_o service_n upon_o a_o prudential_a account_n as_o they_o esteem_v it_o and_o thus_o it_o be_v they_o understand_v by_o the_o apostle_n that_o they_o eat_v and_o drink_v damnation_n to_o themselves_o if_o they_o do_v it_o unworthy_o and_o therefore_o they_o conclude_v it_o the_o safe_a course_n not_o to_o receive_v it_o at_o all_o by_o this_o mean_n they_o think_v they_o avoid_v the_o danger_n of_o unworthy_a receive_n and_o take_v the_o most_o secure_a course_n in_o not_o receive_v at_o all_o this_o i_o fear_n be_v the_o ground_n that_o too_o many_o rest_n upon_o who_o do_v forbear_v to_o eat_v of_o this_o bread_n and_o drink_n of_o this_o cup._n in_o answer_n to_o this_o pretence_n i_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o say_v much_o especial_o if_o what_o have_v be_v say_v before_o be_v due_o consider_v but_o yet_o something_o i_o shall_v say_v to_o it_o and_o answ_n first_o i_o must_v tell_v you_o that_o though_o this_o may_v be_v think_v a_o safe_a and_o prudential_a course_n yet_o it_o be_v far_o from_o be_v so_o for_o what_o prudence_n be_v it_o to_o run_v from_o one_o extreme_a to_o another_o and_o to_o neglect_v the_o mean_a which_o we_o ought_v to_o aim_v at_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o forbear_v nor_o yet_o to_o receive_v unworthy_o why_o do_v we_o not_o prepare_v ourselves_o and_o receive_v as_o we_o ought_v shall_v we_o call_v it_o a_o prudential_a course_n to_o run_v away_o from_o the_o law_n of_o christ_n or_o shall_v he_o be_v think_v a_o wise_a man_n that_o run_v from_o one_o danger_n into_o another_o that_o be_v as_o great_a this_o be_v as_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v flee_v from_o a_o lion_n and_o a_o bear_n shall_v meet_v he_o or_o a_o serpent_n bite_v he_o that_o i_o may_v use_v the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n amos_n so_o he_o do_v in_o the_o case_n before_o we_o for_o whereas_o he_o be_v require_v to_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n worthy_o he_o instead_o of_o that_o either_o receive_v it_o amiss_o or_o else_o will_v not_o receive_v at_o all_o which_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v prudent_o do_v that_o it_o be_v indeed_o a_o argument_n of_o great_a folly_n and_o he_o that_o take_v such_o a_o course_n be_v far_o from_o be_v safe_a he_o that_o do_v thus_o run_v indeed_o from_o a_o great_a mischief_n but_o he_o run_v into_o another_o there_o be_v a_o rock_n on_o each_o hand_n that_o he_o may_v split_v
