attain_v this_o gift_n and_o that_o none_o be_v true_a member_n of_o christ_n or_o aught_o to_o be_v his_o minister_n who_o have_v not_o attain_v it_o with_o many_o other_o such_o unwarrantable_a all_o to_o the_o edification_n of_o piety_n for_o all_o the_o world_n be_v not_o able_a to_o prove_v that_o the_o gift_n of_o prayer_n be_v either_o a_o mean_n of_o engraft_v a_o man_n in_o christ_n or_o a_o testimony_n that_o he_o be_v ingraft_v in_o he_o so_o that_o either_o they_o shall_v much_o rejoice_v though_o they_o common_o do_v glory_n in_o their_o pre-eminence_n who_o have_v it_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v dismay_v for_o their_o defect_n who_o have_v it_o not_o for_o that_o holy_a communion_n which_o be_v exercise_v with_o god_n by_o prayer_n be_v altogether_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a in_o a_o holy_a attention_n and_o affection_n which_o belong_v to_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n not_o at_o all_o earthly_a or_o carnal_a in_o a_o ready_a apprehension_n or_o a_o voluble_a expression_n which_o two_o alone_a proper_o belong_v to_o the_o gift_n of_o prayer_n for_o as_o concern_v supernatural_a assistance_n as_o be_v heretofore_o in_o miracle_n and_o in_o tongue_n there_o be_v little_a reason_n to_o suppose_v or_o mention_v it_o in_o the_o gift_n of_o prayer_n 1._o because_o those_o man_n among_o we_o who_o most_o have_v it_o have_v it_o not_o in_o any_o other_o language_n but_o only_o in_o that_o which_o be_v to_o they_o most_o natural_a even_o in_o their_o own_o mother-tongue_n 2._o because_o those_o man_n who_o have_v it_o do_v so_o much_o blame_v and_o alike_o in_o their_o conceit_n supernatural_a and_o yet_o if_o we_o shall_v suppose_v a_o supernatural_a assistance_n in_o the_o gift_n of_o prayer_n it_o will_v little_a advantage_n either_o it_o or_o they_o for_o we_o see_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v over-rule_v the_o tongue_n of_o balaam_n when_o he_o utter_v that_o most_o heavenly_a prayer_n let_v i_o die_v the_o death_n of_o the_o
