shoulder_n where_o we_o be_v safe_a enough_o for_o sin_n death_n and_o hell_n although_o in_o deed_n they_o be_v terrible_a yet_o dare_v they_o not_o set_v upon_o he_o otherwise_o if_o it_o be_v not_o for_o this_o we_o shall_v be_v miserable_a sheep_n which_o shall_v forthwith_o be_v bring_v into_o a_o lamentable_a and_o wretched_a case_n for_o even_o as_o a_o sheep_n can_v not_o take_v heed_n and_o foresee_v to_o itself_o that_o it_o stray_v not_o out_o of_o the_o way_n unless_o it_o be_v lead_v of_o the_o shepeheard_n &_o when_o it_o have_v stray_v and_o be_v lose_v can_v not_o by_o itself_o come_v again_o to_o the_o shepeheard_n but_o must_v be_v seek_v and_o inquire_v for_o of_o he_o until_o he_o have_v find_v it_o and_o so_o must_v be_v lay_v upon_o his_o shoulder_n and_o bring_v home_o again_o lest_o that_o it_o be_v again_o fray_v and_o chase_v from_o he_o or_o catch_v of_o the_o wolf_n and_o rent_n in_o piece_n so_o we_o also_o ourselves_o can_v profit_v ourselves_o neither_o by_o help_n nor_o counsel_n that_o we_o may_v obtain_v peace_n and_o quietness_n of_o conscience_n and_o escape_v out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o devil_n death_n and_o hell_n except_o christ_n himself_o repeat_v his_o word_n unto_o we_o and_o call_v we_o again_o unto_o he_o and_o although_o we_o come_v unto_o he_o and_o now_o stand_v in_o faith_n yet_o be_v it_o not_o in_o our_o power_n to_o keep_v ourselves_o therein_o or_o to_o stand_v by_o our_o own_o strength_n unless_o he_o eftsoon_o by_o the_o power_n of_o his_o word_n hold_v lift_v up_o and_o carry_v we_o for_o that_o the_o devil_n always_o imagine_v and_o purpose_v deceit_n and_o destruction_n towards_o we_o and_o go_v about_o like_o a_o roar_a lion_n seek_v who_o he_o may_v devour_v as_o s._n peter_n witness_v wherefore_o here_o be_v no_o place_n to_o boast_v of_o free_a will_n or_o of_o our_o own_o strength_n which_o be_v none_o neither_o in_o beginning_n any_o thing_n neither_o in_o go_v forward_o therein_o much_o less_o in_o persevere_v or_o continue_v in_o it_o but_o christ_n our_o shepeheard_n alone_o do_v all_o thing_n howbeit_o we_o be_v sure_o hereof_o that_o while_o we_o lie_v upon_o the_o shoulder_n of_o christ_n we_o shall_v remain_v safe_a from_o all_o terror_n and_o misfortune_n for_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v we_o to_o be_v pluck_v or_o take_v from_o his_o neck_n neither_o will_v he_o himself_o cast_v we_o of_o be_v so_o glad_a and_o joyful_a that_o he_o have_v find_v his_o lose_a sheep_n and_o bring_v it_o again_o to_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o flock_n and_o in_o a_o sum_n here_o be_v no_o terror_n or_o trouble_v or_o exaction_n but_o mere_a life_n and_o grace_n whereby_o he_o handle_v his_o sheep_n most_o love_o and_o gentle_o but_o on_o the_o contrary_a moses_n not_o as_o a_o shepeheard_n of_o miserable_a and_o weak_a sheep_n but_o as_o a_o master_n of_o strong_a cattle_n drive_v his_o herd_n with_o a_o staff_n and_o a_o rod_n three_o day_n journey_n through_o the_o desert_n until_o they_o be_v tire_v and_o weary_a with_o walk_v of_o this_o shepeheard_n those_o hardedened_a and_o wild_a one_o be_v to_o be_v tame_v and_o bridle_v and_o we_o also_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v under_o moses_n to_o wit_n according_a to_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o outward_a life_n must_v go_v and_o do_v that_o which_o the_o law_n require_v but_o in_o that_o we_o be_v and_o be_v call_v christian_n we_o must_v by_o no_o mean_n suffer_v that_o any_o work_n be_v lay_v upon_o we_o yea_o or_o exact_v of_o we_o but_o must_v give_v ourselves_o only_o to_o christ_n to_o be_v carry_v and_o gentle_o lift_v up_o not_o upon_o horse_n and_o charret_n but_o even_o upon_o his_o only_a shoulder_n shoulder_n when_o christ_n carry_v we_o upon_o his_o shoulder_n which_o come_v to_o pass_v as_o i_o have_v say_v when_o he_o suffer_v the_o word_n to_o be_v preach_v unto_o we_o and_o we_o also_o believe_v the_o same_o that_o he_o die_v for_o we_o that_o on_o the_o cross_n he_o bear_v our_o sin_n in_o his_o body_n that_o he_o have_v overthrow_v the_o devil_n death_n and_o sin_n and_o put_v they_o under_o his_o foot_n and_o have_v make_v and_o open_v unto_o we_o entrance_n to_o eternal_a life_n wherefore_o we_o must_v not_o have_v respect_n to_o our_o own_o life_n how_o righteous_a and_o strong_a we_o be_v but_o we_o must_v study_v upon_o his_o one_o thing_n that_o we_o may_v rest_v lie_v upon_o his_o shoulder_n in_o this_o circle_n we_o must_v have_v no_o care_n of_o sin_n death_n life_n or_o pensivenes_n inasmuch_o as_o we_o have_v all_o thing_n to_o the_o full_a in_o christ_n who_o bear_v and_o keep_v us._n now_o he_o be_v not_o content_a with_o all_o these_o thing_n both_o that_o with_o such_o great_a travel_n he_o seek_v his_o sheep_n and_o also_o that_o have_v find_v it_o again_o exceed_v joy_n because_o of_o the_o sheep_n which_o be_v lose_v and_o be_v find_v again_o he_o carry_v it_o with_o incredible_a joy_n but_o it_o be_v bring_v again_o he_o make_v festival_n day_n &_o exceed_o rejoice_v call_v together_o his_o neighbour_n and_o friend_n that_o they_o may_v rejoice_v with_o he_o yea_o he_o affirm_v that_o god_n also_o in_o heaven_n with_o to_o this_o language_n now_o zacharias_n signify_v that_o christ_n be_v our_o head_n yea_o our_o god_n who_o kingdom_n be_v his_o horn_n he_o add_v the_o horn_n of_o salvation_n or_o blessedness_n righteousness_n truth_n and_o of_o every_o thing_n that_o pertain_v to_o salvation_n whereby_o it_o differ_v from_o all_o other_o kingdom_n for_o albeit_o they_o be_v large_a scotfree_a or_o mighty_a yet_o be_v they_o count_v the_o kingdom_n of_o death_n for_o they_o that_o govern_v they_o must_v at_o the_o last_o fall_n die_v perish_v and_o leave_v their_o power_n and_o riches_n behind_o they_o unto_o we_o the_o covenant_n make_v to_o abraham_n thus_o he_o say_v to_o abraham_n by_o myself_o have_v i_o swear_v say_v the_o lord_n that_o in_o blessing_n i_o will_v bless_v thou_o and_o in_o thy_o seed_n etc._n etc._n which_o word_n the_o prophet_n diligent_o hold_v mark_v handle_v &_o always_o trust_v unto_o they_o for_o that_o he_o do_v here_o solemn_o swear_v that_o he_o may_v whole_o obtain_v the_o gospel_n for_o himself_o wherefore_o it_o can_v not_o be_v say_v that_o that_o promise_n be_v due_a to_o his_o merit_n otherwise_o he_o must_v have_v live_v in_o the_o earth_n until_o the_o fulfil_n thereof_o and_o a_o due_a price_n or_o reward_n must_v have_v be_v pay_v unto_o he_o but_o now_o the_o perform_n of_o the_o promise_n be_v after_o his_o death_n so_o that_o every_o one_o must_v needs_o confess_v that_o that_o promise_n be_v not_o make_v to_o abraham_n because_o of_o his_o merit_n again_o it_o can_v not_o be_v say_v promise_n the_o gentile_n merit_v not_o the_o enjoy_n of_o the_o promise_n that_o the_o gentile_n which_o enjoy_v this_o promise_n have_v obtain_v it_o by_o their_o merit_n which_o then_o be_v not_o god_n promise_v to_o the_o father_n and_o perform_v not_o he_o perform_v to_o the_o gentile_n to_o who_o notwithstanding_o no_o promise_n be_v make_v who_o all_o at_o that_o time_n be_v not_o god_n will_v always_o retain_v to_o himself_o his_o honour_n and_o be_v the_o same_o god_n although_o the_o wicked_a world_n can_v not_o be_v so_o persuade_v he_o chasten_v reprove_v rebuke_v provoke_v stir_v allure_v do_v whatsoever_o be_v to_o we_o unless_o he_o take_v away_o christ_n from_o us._n not_o so_o much_o as_o a_o hear_v of_o our_o head_n shall_v perish_v as_o christ_n say_v to_o his_o disciple_n luke_n 21._o wherefore_o myrrh_n dead_a body_n be_v anoint_v that_o for_o certain_a year_n they_o shall_v not_o putrify_v now_o myrrh_n be_v a_o strong_a and_o bitter_a ivice_n which_o distil_v from_o the_o tree_n of_o arabia_n like_v unto_o gum_n or_o as_o with_o we_o rosin_n issue_v out_o of_o the_o pine_n tree_n the_o fir_n tree_n etc._n etc._n but_o then_o we_o offer_v myrrh_n unto_o christ_n christ_n when_o we_o offer_v myrrh_n unto_o christ_n when_o we_o firm_o believe_v that_o he_o by_o his_o death_n have_v overcome_v sin_n satan_n and_o hell_n and_o this_o be_v a_o special_a faith_n if_o we_o do_v but_o a_o little_a doubt_n here_o it_o be_v not_o well_o with_o us._n but_o if_o i_o believe_v from_o my_o hart_n that_o death_n sin_n the_o devil_n and_o hell_n be_v swallow_v up_o in_o and_o by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n i_o shall_v not_o be_v afraid_a of_o they_o all_o i_o shall_v easy_o be_v preserve_v from_o rottenness_n which_o death_n bring_v when_o i_o have_v myrrh_n that_o be_v the_o death_n of_o my_o lord_n christ_n in_o my_o body_n and_o soul_n this_o will_v not_o suffer_v i_o to_o perish_v so_o strong_a and_o valiant_a a_o thing_n be_v faith_n unto_o which_o even_o all_o thing_n be_v possible_a as_o christ_n say_v mar._n 9_o here_o must_v we_o learn_v daily_o with_o our_o lord_n christ_n to_o bring_v under_o our_o old_a adam_n and_o to_o mortify_v his_o concupiscence_n by_o the_o cross_n and_o tentation_n not_o that_o cross_n which_o we_o do_v choose_v but_o which_o christ_n lay_v on_o we_o let_v we_o bear_v it_o patient_o and_o with_o a_o willing_a mind_n that_o so_o our_o body_n may_v be_v subdue_v and_o make_v subject_a to_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v so_o bury_v with_o christ_n through_o baptism_n we_o may_v be_v raise_v up_o again_o with_o he_o and_o he_o alone_o may_v reign_v and_o live_v in_o us._n hereunto_o vehement_a sigh_v be_v require_v which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v make_v in_o we_o for_o our_o sake_n as_o paul_n say_v rom._n through_o the_o cogitation_n of_o baptism_n as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o house_n decay_v through_o oldnes_n even_o until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o depart_v this_o life_n whereof_o s._n paul_n entreat_v in_o very_o goodly_a word_n rom._n 6._o which_o be_v diligent_o to_o be_v mark_v of_o we_o now_o he_o say_v thus_o know_v you_o not_o that_o all_o we_o which_o have_v be_v baptize_v into_o jesus_n
