which_o bind_v we_o to_o the_o performance_n of_o our_o duty_n to_o god_n and_o man_n one_o main_a branch_n of_o this_o duty_n and_o effect_n of_o this_o wisdom_n be_v his_o teach_v he_o teach_v in_o teach_v so_o be_v he_o constant_a in_o his_o course_n as_o long_o as_o his_o health_n and_o strength_n will_v give_v he_o leave_v and_o i_o may_v true_o say_v beyond_o his_o strength_n resolve_v with_o that_o uncle_n of_o his_o no_o less_o good_a than_o great_a that_o a_o general_n shall_v die_v in_o the_o field_n &_o a_o preacher_n in_o the_o pulpit_n the_o manner_n of_o his_o teach_n be_v not_o by_o loud_a vociferation_n or_o ridiculous_a gesticulation_n or_o ostentation_n of_o wit_n or_o affectation_n of_o word_n but_o in_o the_o evident_a demonstration_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o power_n it_o be_v demonstrative_a masculine_a and_o mighty_a through_o god_n to_o the_o pull_v down_o of_o strong_a hold_n deep_o it_o be_v and_o yet_o clear_a rational_a and_o yet_o divine_a perspicuous_a yet_o punctual_a artificial_a yet_o profitable_a calm_a yet_o pierce_v ponderous_a yet_o familiar_a so_o as_o the_o able_a of_o his_o hearer_n may_v always_o learn_v somewhat_o &_o yet_o the_o simple_a understand_v all_o which_o be_v a_o rare_a mixture_n and_o in_o this_o mixture_n he_o run_v a_o middle_n &_o moderate_a course_n most_o agreeable_a to_o the_o canon_n &_o constitution_n of_o that_o church_n in_o which_o he_o be_v bear_v and_o breed_v betwixt_o the_o apish_a superstition_n of_o some_o and_o the_o peevish_a singularity_n of_o other_o betwixt_o blind_a devotion_n and_o overbold_a presumption_n betwixt_o unreasonable_a obedience_n and_o unwarrantable_a disconformitie_n betwixt_o popish_a tyranny_n ground_v upon_o carnal_a policy_n and_o popular_a confusion_n guide_v by_o mere_a fancy_n the_o one_o labour_v for_o a_o usurp_a monarchy_n and_o to_o turn_v all_o the_o body_n into_o head_n the_o other_o for_o a_o lawless_a anarchy_n and_o to_o have_v a_o body_n without_o a_o head_n now_o though_o in_o his_o teach_n he_o run_v this_o middle_a course_n yet_o do_v it_o always_o aim_v not_o only_o at_o the_o information_n of_o the_o judgement_n but_o the_o reformation_n of_o the_o will_n the_o beat_n down_o of_o impiety_n and_o the_o convince_a of_o the_o conscience_n to_o the_o draw_v of_o his_o hearer_n as_o from_o ignorance_n to_o knowledge_n and_o from_o error_n to_o truth_n so_o likewise_o thereby_o from_o rebellion_n to_o obedience_n from_o profaneness_n to_o religion_n and_o true_o i_o little_a doubt_n but_o many_o a_o good_a soul_n now_o a_o saint_n in_o heaven_n do_v they_o understand_v our_o action_n and_o desire_n and_o withal_o can_v make_v know_v their_o conceit_n to_o we_o will_v soon_o give_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o under_o god_n he_o be_v the_o instrument_n for_o the_o turn_n of_o they_o to_o righteousness_n and_o so_o for_o the_o direct_n and_o conduct_v of_o they_o to_o that_o place_n of_o their_o bliss_n and_o as_o little_a doubt_n i_o but_o many_o a_o good_a soul_n who_o hear_v i_o this_o day_n in_o secret_a and_o in_o silence_n bless_v god_n and_o the_o memory_n of_o this_o good_a man_n for_o that_o spiritual_a knowledge_n and_o comfort_n which_o they_o have_v receive_v by_o his_o ministry_n once_o i_o be_o sure_a that_o a_o virtuous_a gentlewoman_n of_o good_a note_n and_o rank_n have_v since_o his_o death_n by_o her_o letter_n write_v with_o her_o own_o hand_n to_o some_o of_o his_o near_a friend_n testify_v her_o turn_n to_o righteousness_n to_o have_v be_v first_o wrought_v by_o his_o more_o believe_v but_o see_v ourselves_o free_a from_o all_o danger_n and_o in_o perfect_a safety_n wherefore_o come_v lord_n jesus_n come_v quick_o and_o of_o the_o three_o point_n quibus_fw-la to_o who_o thus_o much_o the_o four_o and_o last_o in_o quamdiu_fw-la how_o long_o this_o life_n continue_v it_o continue_v not_o for_o a_o time_n only_o as_o do_v the_o natural_a life_n which_o after_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n sometime_o attain_v not_o the_o degree_n of_o glory_n but_o the_o life_n of_o glory_n once_o attain_v continue_v eternal_o howbeit_o that_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n be_v also_o here_o mean_v plain_o appear_v by_o the_o word_n immediate_o follow_v 6.47_o where_o our_o saviour_n say_v this_o be_v life_n everlasting_a to_o know_v thou_o etc._n etc._n for_o to_o know_v and_o yet_o life_n continue_v as_o touch_v power_n that_o be_v gracious_a habit_n imprint_v upon_o the_o soul_n and_o enable_v to_o operate_v i_o distinguish_v again_o for_o some_o of_o they_o either_o in_o themselves_o or_o we_o argue_v defect_n and_o imperfection_n and_o pertain_v only_o to_o the_o condition_n of_o this_o present_a life_n such_o as_o be_v faith_n hope_n and_o repentance_n and_o the_o like_a other_o import_v perfection_n &_o pertain_v also_o to_o the_o next_o life_n among_o which_o excel_v charity_n the_o former_a in_o the_o end_n of_o this_o life_n cease_v for_o we_o believe_v because_o we_o see_v not_o and_o hope_v because_o we_o possess_v not_o and_o repent_v because_o we_o sin_n but_o when_o we_o see_v possess_v and_o be_v free_a from_o sin_n than_o faith_n hope_n and_o repentance_n vanish_v away_o as_o for_o the_o latter_a they_o never_o cease_v but_o continue_v with_o we_o evermore_o yet_o here_o again_o be_v we_o once_o more_o to_o distinguish_v for_o
