that_o god_n be_v infinite_o wise_a and_o in_o one_o affliction_n have_v many_o end_n as_o 1._o when_o he_o afflict_v they_o it_o be_v to_o correct_v they_o for_o their_o sin_n after_o which_o when_o they_o have_v pull_v out_o the_o sting_n of_o sin_n by_o confession_n and_o humiliation_n if_o affliction_n continue_v his_o anger_n do_v not_o continue_v 2._o affliction_n sometime_o be_v for_o a_o exercise_n of_o patience_n and_o faith_n and_o trial_n of_o their_o grace_n and_o for_o the_o exemplary_a manifestation_n to_o other_o of_o god_n goodness_n to_o they_o but_o even_o then_o they_o may_v know_v that_o thing_n come_v not_o in_o anger_n unto_o they_o by_o this_o continue_v how_o to_o know_v affliction_n be_v not_o in_o wrath_n though_o they_o continue_v that_o after_o repentance_n god_n speak_v peace_n unto_o their_o conscience_n so_o that_o though_o the_o grievance_n continue_v it_o be_v with_o much_o joy_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o peace_n of_o conscience_n in_o which_o case_n the_o soul_n know_v that_o it_o be_v for_o other_o end_n that_o god_n continue_v it_o therefore_o the_o first_o thing_n in_o any_o affliction_n be_v to_o remove_v away_o the_o core_n and_o sting_n thereof_o by_o humble_v ourselves_o as_o the_o church_n here_o do_v after_o which_o our_o conscience_n will_v be_v at_o peace_n for_o other_o thing_n god_n have_v many_o end_n in_o correct_v we_o he_o will_v humble_v we_o improove_v our_o affliction_n to_o the_o good_a of_o other_o and_o will_v gain_v himself_o honour_n by_o our_o affliction_n suffering_n 5.5_o rom_n 5.5_o and_o cross_n when_o god_n have_v shed_v abroad_o his_o love_n in_o our_o heart_n by_o his_o spirit_n than_o we_o can_v rejoice_v in_o tribulation_n and_o rejoice_v under_o hope_n though_o the_o affliction_n continue_v because_o the_o sting_n be_v go_v anger_n be_v remoove_v for_o my_o anger_n be_v turn_v away_o from_o he_o the_o last_o point_n we_o observe_v from_o hence_o and_o gather_v from_o all_o these_o general_a truth_n be_v this_o observe_v where_o there_o be_v not_o humiliation_n for_o sin_n and_o hearty_a prayer_n to_o god_n with_o reformation_n of_o our_o way_n fly_v unto_o god_n for_o mercy_n who_o be_v merciful_a to_o the_o fatherless_a there_o god_n wrath_n continue_v for_o as_o where_o they_o be_v perform_v his_o anger_n be_v turn_v away_o so_o must_v it_o need_v follow_v that_o where_o they_o be_v not_o perform_v his_o anger_n continue_v therefore_o let_v we_o examine_v ourselves_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n here_o speak_v of_o heal_a backesliding_n and_o of_o turn_v away_o iniquity_n let_v we_o look_v well_o to_o ourselves_o and_o to_o the_o present_a state_n of_o thing_n that_o our_o disease_n be_v sound_o cure_v our_o personal_a disease_n and_o then_o let_v we_o be_v sensible_a of_o the_o disease_n of_o the_o land_n and_o pray_v for_o they_o for_o there_o be_v universal_a disease_n and_o sin_n of_o a_o kingdom_n as_o well_o as_o personal_a and_o we_o be_v guilty_a of_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o time_n as_o far_o as_o we_o be_v not_o humble_v for_o they_o paul_n tell_v those_o who_o do_v not_o punish_v the_o incestuous_a person_n 5.2_o 1_o cor._n 5.2_o why_o be_v we_o
