life_n so_o we_o deprive_v ourselves_o of_o the_o instruction_n and_o benefit_n we_o may_v have_v by_o their_o death_n or_o if_o some_o extraordinary_a circumstance_n that_o appear_v in_o the_o death_n of_o other_o strike_v we_o into_o serious_a thought_n of_o our_o own_o yet_o usual_o they_o be_v but_o short-lived_a and_o fleet_a for_o a_o while_n it_o may_v be_v we_o think_v of_o humane_a for_o such_o die_a meditation_n of_o death_n be_v usual_o very_o unprofitable_a it_o be_v with_o most_o man_n as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o flock_n of_o sheep_n that_o graze_v fearless_o till_o the_o shepherd_n rush_v in_o among_o they_o and_o lay_v hold_v of_o one_o of_o they_o for_o the_o slaughter_n and_o this_o present_o fright_v they_o make_v they_o leave_v their_o food_n and_o run_v scatter_v about_o the_o field_n but_o no_o soon_o be_v the_o tumult_n over_o but_o they_o flock_v together_o again_o and_o feed_v as_o secure_o without_o thought_n of_o death_n or_o danger_n as_o before_o so_o true_o be_v it_o with_o most_o man_n when_o either_o the_o report_n be_v spread_v abroad_o that_o such_o or_o such_o a_o person_n be_v dead_a and_o it_o may_v be_v sudden_o by_o some_o sudden_a and_o unexpected_a stroke_n or_o when_o they_o be_v call_v to_o visit_v some_o die_a person_n where_o they_o behold_v depart_v pang_n distort_a eye_n quiver_a limb_n wan_a and_o ghastly_a corpse_n the_o image_n of_o death_n in_o all_o its_o lively_a terror_n if_o they_o have_v any_o remainder_n of_o natural_a tenderness_n it_o must_v needs_o strike_v they_o into_o pensiveness_n to_o think_v that_o one_o day_n this_o must_v be_v their_o own_o case_n and_o that_o therefore_o it_o behoove_v they_o to_o be_v in_o continual_a preparation_n for_o this_o last_o and_o dreadful_a change_n but_o no_o soon_o be_v the_o dead_a inter_v and_o the_o grave_a fill_v up_o again_o but_o all_o these_o sage_a and_o serious_a thought_n vanish_v and_o they_o return_v to_o the_o same_o excess_n of_o sin_n and_o pleasure_n as_o before_o this_o be_v the_o brutish_a folly_n and_o sottishness_n of_o most_o man_n but_o oh_o why_o shall_v not_o man_n always_o keep_v alive_a vigorous_a thought_n and_o meditation_n of_o death_n be_v they_o not_o always_o alike_o mortal_a be_v they_o not_o as_o much_o subject_n to_o the_o arrest_n of_o death_n at_o other_o time_n as_o when_o they_o see_v example_n of_o mortality_n before_o their_o eye_n the_o law_n stand_v still_o in_o force_n unrepealed_a in_o heaven_n that_o it_o be_v appoint_v unto_o all_o man_n once_o to_o die_v indeed_o it_o fare_v with_o and_o the_o very_a next_o day_n allot_v to_o you_o unto_o eternity_n if_o it_o be_v not_o so_o it_o be_v more_o than_o any_o of_o we_o know_v and_o since_o we_o have_v no_o assurance_n of_o one_o day_n or_o hour_n long_o it_o be_v but_o reason_n and_o wisdom_n to_o look_v upon_o every_o day_n as_o that_o which_o may_v prove_v our_o very_a last_o life_n be_v constant_a in_o the_o exercise_n deceitfulness_n of_o sin_n do_v thus_o digest_v and_o methodize_v his_o prayer_n first_o against_o secret_a and_o lesser_a sin_n and_o then_o against_o the_o more_o gross_a and_o notorious_a as_o know_v the_o one_o proceed_v and_o issue_v from_o the_o other_o lord_n cleanse_v i_o from_o my_o secret_a fault_n and_o this_o will_v be_v a_o most_o effectual_a mean_n to_o preserve_v and_o keep_v keep_v he_o from_o presumptuous_a sin_n second_o observe_v it_o be_v not_o our_o own_o doct._n 2_o power_n but_o only_o divine_a grace_n that_o can_v preserve_v we_o from_o the_o most_o horrid_a and_o vile_a sin_n those_o sin_n that_o we_o now_o abhor_v the_o very_a thought_n of_o yet_o be_v we_o but_o leave_v to_o ourselves_o and_o be_v but_o divine_a grace_n abstract_v from_o we_o even_o those_o
