it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o man_n who_o be_v conscious_a to_o themselves_o of_o condemn_a guilt_n dare_v not_o think_v of_o stand_v before_o the_o dreadful_a tribunal_n of_o god_n and_o death_n now_o be_v god_n sergeant_n to_o arrest_v they_o and_o to_o bring_v they_o thither_o they_o can_v bear_v the_o thought_n of_o eternal_a vengeance_n and_o prepare_v torment_n to_o be_v for_o ever_o inflict_v on_o they_o by_o the_o almighty_a power_n of_o a_o incense_a god_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o they_o put_v far_o from_o they_o the_o thought_n of_o death_n because_o their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o that_o that_o day_n whensoever_o it_o come_v will_v be_v to_o they_o a_o evil_a day_n many_o more_o reason_n may_v be_v give_v of_o this_o brutishness_n of_o man_n in_o put_v off_o the_o thought_n of_o death_n and_o preparation_n for_o it_o but_o these_o shall_v suffice_v the_o next_o thing_n that_o i_o shall_v do_v shall_v be_v to_o lay_v down_o some_o consideration_n that_o may_v fore-arm_n christian_n against_o the_o fear_n and_o terror_n of_o death_n death_n consideration_n to_o arm_n man_n against_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n and_o make_v they_o willing_a to_o submit_v unto_o this_o law_n of_o die_v unto_o which_o god_n have_v subject_v all_o man_n and_o first_o life_n the_o soul_n be_v immortal_a and_o part_v with_o this_o it_o enter_v into_o a_o better_a life_n if_o the_o soul_n be_v immortal_a as_o certain_o it_o be_v and_o that_o part_n from_o this_o it_o enter_v upon_o a_o better_a life_n than_o this_o we_o may_v well_o then_o be_v content_v to_o die_v upon_o that_o account_n no_o man_n say_v a_o roman_a author_n think_v death_n be_v much_o to_o be_v avoid_v since_o immortality_n follow_v death_n i_o be_o very_o sensible_a how_o hard_o a_o task_n it_o be_v to_o persuade_v man_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o die_v but_o yet_o let_v i_o ask_v you_o if_o you_o be_v believer_n for_o in_o this_o i_o speak_v only_o unto_o such_o what_o be_v there_o in_o death_n that_o be_v so_o terrible_a to_o you_o i_o know_v it_o be_v monstrous_a and_o full_a of_o horror_n if_o we_o consider_v nothing_o but_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o filthiness_n of_o the_o grave_a and_o last_o the_o dissipation_n of_o the_o visible_a part_n of_o man_n all_o these_o consideration_n make_v death_n very_o terrible_a and_o full_a of_o horror_n to_o we_o but_o now_o he_o that_o shall_v consider_v after_o all_o this_o his_o spiritual_a &_o invisible_a part_n what_o can_v he_o see_v in_o death_n that_o be_v not_o very_o desirable_a to_o he_o the_o body_n rest_v from_o its_o labour_n and_o the_o soul_n enjoy_v its_o reward_n in_o heaven_n if_o you_o be_v hereby_o take_v away_o from_o converse_v with_o man_n yet_o the_o soul_n be_v elevate_v to_o a_o acquaintance_n with_o angel_n that_o be_v still_o alive_a in_o its_o own_o nature_n the_o soul_n live_v for_o ever_o be_v place_v above_o the_o common_a arrest_n of_o death_n we_o find_v to_o this_o purpose_n after_o that_o god_n have_v try_v the_o patience_n of_o job_n by_o the_o loss_n of_o all_o his_o substance_n and_o afterward_o of_o all_o his_o child_n also_o he_o restore_v to_o he_o double_v whatever_o he_o have_v take_v from_o he_o â—0_n job_n 42._o â—0_n so_o we_o read_v in_o the_o holy_a story_n the_o lord_n give_v unto_o job_n twice_o as_o much_o as_o he_o have_v before_o doubtless_o be_v of_o far_o great_a value_n than_o all_o the_o rest_n whereas_o he_o have_v seven_o son_n and_o three_o daughter_n god_n restore_v to_o he_o the_o same_o number_n again_o not_o double_a in_o these_o as_o he_o do_v in_o all_o the_o rest_n and_o wherefore_o do_v god_n double_v his_o camel_n his_o sheep_n and_o his_o ox_n and_o not_o his_o child_n why_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o his_o child_n be_v not_o so_o dead_a as_o be_v his_o camel_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o brute_n creature_n their_o soul_n remain_v immortal_a and_o entire_a still_o after_o death_n so_o that_o god_n in_o give_v job_n seven_o son_n and_o three_o daughter_n do_v double_v they_o notwithstanding_o though_o he_o give_v he_o no_o more_o than_o he_o have_v at_o first_o so_o here_o though_o peace_n and_o contentment_n in_o our_o grave_n to_o take_v our_o rest_n and_o sleep_v until_o the_o morning_n of_o the_o resurrection_n indeed_o the_o sleep_n of_o death_n be_v different_a from_o punish_v these_o two_o thing_n be_v in_o every_o sin_n every_o sin_n deserve_v death_n and_o god_n have_v in_o his_o law_n ordain_v and_o threaten_v to_o inflict_v death_n for_o it_o question_n now_o it_o be_v clear_a that_o pardon_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n be_v nothing_o but_o the_o removal_n of_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n the_o question_n be_v whether_o it_o remove_v that_o guilt_n that_o consist_v in_o the_o desert_n of_o punishment_n or_o that_o which_o consist_v in_o the_o voluntary_a appointment_n of_o it_o unto_o punishment_n or_o both_o answer_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v pardon_v of_o sin_n do_v not_o remove_v the_o intrinsical_a desert_n of_o punishment_n but_o only_o the_o adventitious_a appointment_n and_o ordination_n of_o it_o unto_o punishment_n flow_v from_o the_o will_n of_o god_n who_o have_v in_o his_o own_o law_n threaten_v to_o punish_v sin_n remission_n do_v not_o make_v that_o the_o sin_n even_o of_o believer_n themselves_o shall_v not_o deserve_v
