first_o straightness_n much_o more_o be_v it_o a_o improper_a time_n for_o this_o work_n when_o sickness_n and_o old_a age_n meet_v together_o there_o be_v two_o thing_n in_o which_o man_n in_o other_o thing_n wise_a enough_o do_v usual_o miscarry_v in_o put_v off_o the_o make_n of_o their_o will_n and_o their_o repentance_n till_o it_o be_v too_o late_o man_n have_v need_v then_o be_v of_o sound_a understanding_n and_o perfect_a memory_n when_o they_o set_v about_o matter_n of_o so_o great_a consequence_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o temporal_a and_o eternal_a concernment_n especial_o when_o man_n have_v the_o happiness_n of_o all_o eternity_n to_o take_v care_n of_o and_o provide_v for_o they_o have_v need_n have_v their_o understanding_n about_o they_o and_o all_o the_o advantage_n of_o leisure_n and_o consideration_n to_o make_v a_o sober_a reflection_n upon_o their_o past_a life_n and_o make_v up_o their_o account_n with_o god_n and_o to_o set_v all_o thing_n right_a between_o he_o and_o they_o and_o it_o be_v well_o if_o after_o all_o a_o repentance_n wilful_o defer_v so_o long_o so_o short_a and_o imperfect_a so_o confuse_a and_o huddle_v up_o will_v at_o last_o be_v accept_v as_o a_o tolerable_a atonement_n for_o the_o crime_n and_o miscarriage_n of_o a_o long_a life_n 4._o suppose_v thou_o be_v sure_a to_o repent_v before_o thou_o leave_v the_o good_a their_o repentance_n and_o good_a resolution_n only_o know_v the_o sincerity_n of_o it_o but_o 2_o dly_a no_o certain_a judgement_n be_v to_o be_v make_v from_o the_o comfort_n and_o confidence_n of_o the_o party_n concern_v for_o the_o business_n be_v not_o what_o comfort_n and_o confidence_n man_n have_v but_o what_o ground_n they_o have_v for_o it_o and_o whereas_o man_n be_v apt_a pious_o to_o suppose_v that_o so_o extraordinary_a a_o comfort_n and_o assurance_n be_v wrought_v in_o they_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n nothing_o be_v more_o uncertain_a because_o we_o be_v strange_o elevate_v and_o raise_v upon_o any_o hope_n give_v of_o escape_v so_o great_a a_o danger_n as_o they_o apprehend_v themselves_o to_o be_v

not_o so_o great_a but_o their_o perverseness_n and_o disingenuity_n be_v great_a to_o sin_n because_o god_n be_v long-suffering_a be_v to_o be_v evil_a because_o he_o be_v good_a and_o to_o provoke_v trample_v upon_o his_o dear_a attribute_n those_o which_o he_o most_o delight_n and_o glory_n in_o his_o goodness_n and_o mercy_n for_o the_o long-suffering_a of_o god_n be_v his_o goodness_n to_o the_o guilty_a and_o his_o mercy_n to_o those_o who_o deserve_v to_o be_v miserable_a nothing_o make_v our_o ruin_n more_o certain_a more_o speedy_a and_o more_o intolerable_a than_o the_o abuse_n of_o god_n goodness_n and_o patience_n after_o god_n have_v bear_v long_o with_o that_o rebellious_a people_n the_o child_n of_o israel_n and_o notwithstanding_o all_o their_o murmur_n all_o their_o infidelity_n and_o impenitency_n have_v spare_v they_o ten_o time_n at_o last_o he_o set_v his_o seal_n to_o their_o ruin_n heb._n 3.8_o 9_o harden_n not_o your_o heart_n as_o in_o the_o provocation_n in_o the_o day_n of_o temptation_n in_o the_o wilderness_n when_o your_o father_n prove_v i_o and_o see_v my_o work_n forty_o year_n this_o be_v a_o high_a provocation_n indeed_o to_o harden_v their_o this_o design_n and_o reasonable_a expectation_n from_o we_o he_o will_v not_o reprieve_v a_o sinner_n for_o one_o moment_n but_o will_v execute_v judgement_n upon_o he_o so_o soon_o as_o ever_o he_o have_v offend_v this_o our_o saviour_n declare_v to_o we_o by_o the_o parable_n of_o the_o figtree_n luke_n 13.6_o be_v it_o not_o that_o god_n expect_v from_o we_o the_o fruit_n of_o repentance_n inevitable_a and_o intolerable_a the_o misery_n of_o those_o must_v be_v who_o live_v and_o die_v in_o the_o contempt_n and_o abuse_n of_o it_o let_v we_o hearty_o repent_v of_o our_o wicked_a life_n and_o say_v what_o have_v we_o do_v how_o careless_a have_v we_o be_v of_o our_o own_o happiness_n and_o what_o pain_n have_v we_o take_v to_o undo_v ourselves_o let_v we_o speedy_o set_v about_o this_o work_n because_o we_o do_v not_o know_v how_o long_o the_o patience_n of_o god_n may_v last_v and_o the_o opportunity_n of_o our_o salvation_n be_v continue_v to_o we_o this_o day_n of_o god_n grace_n and_o patience_n will_v have_v a_o end_n therefore_o as_o the_o prophet_n exhort_v isa_n 55.6_o seek_v the_o lord_n while_o he_o may_v be_v find_v and_o call_v upon_o he_o while_o he_o be_v
