themselves_o in_o different_a condition_n namely_o either_o rich_a or_o poor_a or_o in_o a_o middling_a condition_n and_o it_o be_v to_o be_v remember_v here_o what_o have_v be_v above_o suggest_v we_o must_v estimate_v ourselves_o rich_a or_o poor_a with_o relation_n to_o our_o degree_n or_o rank_n a_o ordinary_a person_n that_o be_v worth_a five_o hundred_o pound_n be_v true_o rich_a than_o a_o person_n of_o quality_n or_o a_o nobleman_n that_o die_v worth_a five_o thousand_o perhaps_o fifty_o thousand_o now_o in_o case_n upon_o such_o enquiry_n or_o examination_n as_o above_o we_o find_v ourselves_o rich_a or_o consider_v our_o quality_n not_o poor_a but_o in_o good_a middling_a condition_n here_o will_v be_v 1_o matter_n of_o further_a enquiry_n or_o examination_n whether_o performance_n and_o last_o show_v the_o danger_n of_o its_o neglect_n they_o leave_v the_o particular_n of_o the_o preparation_n require_v in_o a_o sort_n scatter_v through_o the_o whole_a scripture_n practical_a discourse_n may_v be_v ignorant_a either_o of_o the_o matter_n or_o obligation_n of_o their_o whole_a duty_n in_o this_o great_a and_o most_o weighty_a case_n and_o for_o the_o better_a comprehend_v the_o whole_a body_n of_o direction_n to_o be_v give_v which_o must_v have_v compass_n enough_o to_o answer_v the_o condition_n of_o people_n of_o all_o sort_n or_o of_o each_o age_n be_v to_o fall_v asleep_a death_n put_v a_o end_n to_o those_o pain_n and_o at_o least_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o be_v rid_v of_o they_o be_v to_o be_v wish_v for_o rather_o than_o dread_v beside_o both_o death_n itself_o and_o those_o its_o harbinger_n or_o forego_v pain_n in_o ordinary_a case_n be_v necessary_a and_o unavoidable_a to_o all_o man_n therefore_o it_o be_v most_o unreasonable_a we_o be_v yet_o free_a from_o or_o last_o we_o have_v some_o obligation_n or_o tie_n upon_o we_o to_o some_o thing_n or_o person_n in_o this_o world_n which_o we_o will_v not_o have_v yet_o loose_v or_o from_o which_o we_o can_v with_o honour_n yet_o get_v free_a we_o be_v entangle_v with_o this_o world_n either_o in_o affection_n or_o beside_o in_o business_n of_o our_o own_o or_o other_o from_o which_o we_o judge_v it_o high_o inconvenient_a for_o we_o yet_o to_o be_v dismiss_v now_o let_v we_o consider_v each_o of_o these_o as_o to_o the_o first_o perfect_a happiness_n be_v all_o we_o can_v wish_v but_o perfect_a happiness_n no_o man_n can_v say_v he_o be_v or_o can_v be_v possess_v of_o on_o earth_n only_o he_o have_v here_o some_o enjoyment_n which_o he_o sansy_n to_o be_v pretty_a good_a or_o little_a inslance_n of_o happiness_n and_o he_o be_v in_o hope_n sometime_o of_o some_o more_o now_o these_o death_n will_v bereave_v he_o of_o but_o if_o a_o man_n can_v obtain_v a_o perfect_a happiness_n by_o or_o after_o death_n it_o be_v reasonable_a to_o desire_v the_o exchange_n for_o than_o he_o will_v have_v all_o he_o can_v wish_v and_o by_o death_n become_v gainer_n now_o this_o we_o must_v find_v a_o way_n to_o do_v if_o we_o will_v sufficient_o prepare_v a_o man_n for_o death_n again_o as_o to_o the_o state_n of_o man_n in_o the_o other_o world_n there_o never_o be_v nor_o be_v nor_o can_v be_v any_o thing_n ever_o think_v of_o terrible_a after_o death_n but_o judgement_n and_o the_o punishment_n of_o those_o sin_n which_o we_o have_v commit_v in_o this_o life_n or_o so_o speak_v more_o proper_o perhaps_o according_a to_o the_o opinion_n of_o some_o the_o disorder_n of_o mind_n which_o these_o sin_n have_v bring_v upon_o we_o be_v heighten_v and_o continue_v but_o it_o be_v plain_a many_o punishment_n of_o our_o sin_n many_o disorder_n and_o inquietude_n thence_o we_o meet_v with_o and_o shall_v lie_v under_o here_o more_o or_o less_o as_o long_o as_o we_o live_v if_o therefore_o by_o or_o after_o death_n we_o can_v be_v secure_a of_o a_o perfect_a release_n from_o all_o these_o punishment_n and_o removal_n of_o all_o possible_a disorder_n and_o evil_n we_o shall_v by_o such_o security_n be_v provide_v against_o all_o we_o can_v fear_v by_o or_o after_o death_n now_o this_o also_o be_v to_o be_v do_v there_o remain_v therefore_o nothing_o now_o to_o render_v a_o man_n ready_a as_o well_o as_o willing_a to_o die_v but_o disentangle_v himself_o from_o this_o world_n §_o 5._o so_o that_o in_o sum_n we_o have_v three_o intention_n before_o we_o to_o which_o all_o the_o advice_n at_o least_o in_o this_o period_n to_o be_v give_v be_v to_o be_v direct_v and_o if_o these_o three_o be_v by_o any_o mean_v attain_v there_o be_v no_o question_n but_o such_o person_n who_o have_v attain_v they_o be_v prepare_v for_o death_n for_o more_o evil_n or_o inconvenience_n by_o death_n than_o those_o mention_v we_o can_v conceive_v of_o and_o therefore_o mean_v sufficient_a to_o remove_v these_o must_v be_v sufficient_a to_o prepare_v we_o for_o death_n and_o let_v a_o man_n stand_v never_o so_o near_o the_o top_n of_o the_o hill_n how_o large_a a_o prospect_n soever_o he_o have_v to_o the_o gulf_n he_o be_v to_o pass_v he_o will_v find_v himself_o high_o concern_v as_o to_o these_o three_o general_a intention_n first_o he_o be_v to_o provide_v himself_o a_o happiness_n to_o go_v to_o in_o the_o other_o world_n for_o a_o man_n can_v be_v in_o any_o measure_n prepare_v to_o part_v hence_o who_o have_v no_o sore-sight_n of_o nor_o can_v promise_v to_o himself_o any_o good_a to_o be_v enjoy_v hereafter_o second_o he_o must_v provide_v against_o whatever_o he_o can_v fear_v in_o another_o
