say_v any_o evil_n thus_o have_v i_o set_v forth_o unto_o you_o what_o charity_n be_v as_o well_o by_o the_o doctrine_n as_o by_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n himself_o whereby_o also_o every_o man_n shall_v love_v his_o enemy_n and_o have_v many_o persuasion_n which_o bring_v he_o to_o the_o contrary_n against_o all_o which_o reason_n we_o ought_v aswell_o to_o set_v the_o teach_v as_o the_o live_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n who_o love_v we_o when_o we_o be_v his_o enemy_n do_v teach_v we_o to_o love_v our_o enemy_n he_o do_v patient_o take_v for_o we_o many_o reproach_n suffer_v so_o not_o conceive_v a_o right_a faith_n thereof_o make_v those_o promise_v large_a than_o ever_o god_n do_v trust_v that_o although_o they_o continue_v in_o their_o sinful_a and_o detestable_a living_n never_o so_o long_o yet_o that_o god_n at_o the_o end_n of_o their_o life_n will_v show_v his_o mercy_n upon_o they_o and_o that_o then_o they_o will_v return_v and_o both_o these_o two_o sort_n of_o man_n be_v in_o a_o damnable_a state_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o god_n who_o will_v not_o the_o death_n of_o the_o wicked_a 33._o ezek._n 18._o and_o 33._o have_v show_v mean_n whereby_o both_o the_o same_o if_o they_o take_v heed_n in_o season_n may_v escape_v the_o first_o desperation_n against_o desperation_n as_o they_o do_v dread_a god_n rightful_a justice_n in_o punish_v the_o one_o as_o in_o the_o other_o and_o the_o sinner_n that_o continue_v in_o their_o wicked_a live_n aught_o to_o think_v that_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n mercy_n and_o the_o gospel_n pertain_v not_o unto_o they_o be_v in_o that_o state_n but_o only_o the_o law_n and_o those_o scripture_n which_o contain_v the_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n of_o god_n and_o his_o threaten_n which_o shall_v certify_v they_o that_o as_o they_o do_v over-bold_o presume_v of_o god_n mercy_n and_o live_v dissolute_o so_o do_v god_n still_o more_o and_o more_o withdraw_v his_o mercy_n from_o they_o and_o he_o be_v so_o provoke_v thereby_o to_o wrath_n at_o length_n that_o he_o destroy_v such_o presumer_n many_o time_n sudden_o 5._o 1_o thess_n 5._o for_o of_o such_o st._n paul_n say_v thus_o when_o they_o shall_v say_v it_o be_v peace_n there_o be_v no_o danger_n then_o shall_v sudden_a destruction_n come_v upon_o they_o let_v we_o beware_v therefore_o of_o such_o naughty_a boldness_n to_o sin_n for_o the_o wise_a man_n let_v we_o make_v no_o tarry_v to_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n let_v we_o not_o put_v off_o from_o day_n to_o day_n for_o sudden_o shall_v his_o wrath_n come_v and_o in_o time_n pleasure_n and_o consolation_n but_o the_o unmerciful_a rich_a man_n descend_v down_o into_o hell_n and_o be_v in_o torment_n he_o cry_v for_o comfort_n complain_v of_o the_o intolerable_a pain_n that_o he_o suffer_v in_o that_o flame_n of_o fire_n but_o it_o be_v too_o late_o so_o unto_o this_o place_n bodily_a death_n send_v all_o they_o that_o in_o this_o world_n have_v their_o joy_n and_o joy_n that_o be_v join_v to_o christ_n with_o true_a faith_n steadfast_a hope_n and_o perfect_a charity_n and_o not_o to_o fear_v death_n nor_o everlasting_a damnation_n for_o death_n can_v deprive_v they_o of_o jesus_n christ_n nor_o can_v any_o sin_n condemn_v they_o that_o be_v graft_v sure_o in_o he_o which_o be_v their_o only_a joy_n treasure_n and_o life_n let_v we_o repent_v of_o our_o sin_n amend_v our_o life_n trust_v in_o his_o mercy_n and_o satisfaction_n and_o death_n can_v neither_o take_v he_o from_o we_o nor_o we_o from_o he_o for_o then_o as_o st._n paul_n say_v whether_o a_o strange_a country_n subject_a to_o many_o peril_n walk_v without_o perfect_a sight_n and_o knowledge_n of_o almighty_a god_n only_o see_v he_o by_o faith_n in_o holy_a scripture_n but_o we_o have_v a_o courage_n and_o desire_n rather_o to_o be_v at_o home_o with_o god_n and_o our_o saviour_n christ_n far_o from_o the_o body_n where_o we_o may_v behold_v his_o godhead_n as_o he_o be_v face_n to_o face_n to_o our_o everlasting_a comfort_n these_o be_v st._n paul_n word_n in_o effect_n whereby_o we_o may_v perceive_v that_o the_o life_n in_o this_o world_n be_v resemble_v and_o liken_v to_o a_o pilgrimage_n in_o a_o strange_a country_n far_o from_o god_n and_o that_o death_n deliver_v we_o from_o our_o body_n do_v send_v we_o straight_o home_o into_o our_o own_o country_n and_o make_v we_o to_o dwell_v present_o with_o god_n for_o ever_o in_o everlasting_a rest_n and_o quietness_n so_o that_o to_o die_v be_v no_o loss_n but_o profit_n and_o win_v to_o all_o true_a second_o cause_n why_o some_o do_v fear_n death_n be_v sore_a sickness_n and_o grievous_a pain_n which_o partly_o come_v before_o death_n and_o partly_o accompany_v or_o come_v with_o death_n whensoever_o it_o come_v this_o fear_n be_v the_o fear_n of_o the_o frail_a flesh_n and_o a_o natural_a passion_n belong_v unto_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o mortal_a man._n but_o true_a faith_n in_o god_n promise_n and_o regard_n of_o the_o pain_n and_o pang_n which_o christ_n upon_o the_o cross_n suffer_v for_o we_o miserable_a sinner_n with_o consideration_n of_o the_o joy_n and_o everlasting_a life_n to_o come_v in_o heaven_n will_v mitigate_v those_o pain_n and_o moderate_v this_o fear_n that_o it_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o overthrow_v the_o hearty_a desire_n and_o gladness_n that_o the_o christian_a soul_n have_v to_o be_v separate_v from_o this_o corrupt_a body_n that_o it_o may_v come_v to_o the_o gracious_a presence_n of_o our_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n if_o we_o believe_v steadfast_o the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v perceive_v that_o such_o bodily_a sickness_n pang_n of_o death_n or_o whatsoever_o dolorous_a pang_n we_o suffer_v either_o before_o or_o with_o death_n be_v nothing_o else_o in_o christian_a man_n but_o the_o rod_n of_o our_o heavenly_a and_o love_a father_n wherewith_o he_o merciful_o correct_v we_o either_o to_o try_v and_o declare_v the_o faith_n of_o his_o patient_a child_n that_o they_o may_v be_v sound_a laudable_a glorious_a and_o honourable_a in_o his_o sight_n when_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v be_v open_o show_v to_o be_v innocent_a and_o harmless_a and_o now_o therefore_o he_o be_v exalt_v in_o heaven_n and_o everlasting_o sit_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n the_o father_n let_v we_o call_v be_v so_o answer_v at_o the_o king_n hand_n but_o still_o urge_v he_o more_o and_o more_o say_v it_o become_v a_o king_n to_o perform_v the_o least_o word_n he_o have_v speak_v yea_o if_o he_o shall_v man_n in_o thankfulness_n of_o his_o heart_n for_o the_o redemption_n of_o his_o soul_n purchase_v by_o christ_n death_n show_v kind_o by_o the_o fruit_n of_o his_o faith_n his_o obedience_n to_o god_n so_o the_o other_o as_o a_o merchant_n with_o god_n do_v all_o for_o his_o own_o gain_n think_v to_o win_v heaven_n by_o the_o merit_n of_o his_o work_n and_o so_o deface_v and_o obscure_v the_o away_o and_o our_o offence_n blot_v out_o not_o for_o the_o worthiness_n of_o they_o but_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o work_v all_o in_o all_o and_o that_o for_o the_o promise_n that_o god_n have_v make_v to_o they_o that_o be_v obedient_a unto_o his_o commandment_n that_o he_o which_o be_v the_o truth_n may_v be_v justify_v in_o perform_v the_o truth_n due_a to_o his_o promise_n alms-deed_n do_v wash_v away_o our_o sin_n because_o god_n do_v vouchsafe_v then_o to_o repute_v we_o as_o clean_a and_o pure_a when_o we_o do_v they_o for_o his_o sake_n and_o not_o because_o they_o deserve_v or_o merit_v our_o purge_n or_o for_o that_o they_o have_v any_o such_o strength_n and_o virtue_n in_o themselves_o i_o know_v that_o some_o man_n too_o much_o addict_v to_o the_o advance_n of_o their_o work_n will_v not_o be_v content_v with_o this_o answer_n and_o no_o marvel_n for_o such_o man_n can_v not_o answer_v content_a or_o suffice_v wherefore_o leave_v they_o to_o their_o own_o wilful_a sense_n we_o will_v rather_o have_v regard_n to_o the_o reasonable_a and_o godly_a who_o as_o they_o most_o certain_o know_v and_o persuade_v themselves_o that_o all_o goodness_n all_o bounty_n all_o mercy_n all_o benefit_n all_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o whatsoever_o can_v be_v name_v good_a and_o profitable_a either_o for_o the_o body_n or_o for_o the_o soul_n do_v come_v only_o of_o god_n mercy_n and_o mere_a favour_n and_o not_o of_o themselves_o so_o though_o they_o do_v never_o so_o many_o and_o so_o excellent_a good_a deed_n yet_o be_v they_o never_o puff_v up_o with_o the_o vain_a confidence_n of_o they_o and_o though_o they_o hear_v and_o read_v in_o god_n word_n and_o otherwhere_a in_o godly_a man_n work_n that_o alms-deed_n mercy_n and_o charitableness_n do_v wash_v away_o sin_n and_o blot_v out_o iniquity_n yet_o do_v they_o not_o arrogant_o and_o proud_o stick_v and_o trust_v unto_o they_o or_o brag_v themselves_o of_o they_o as_o the_o proud_a pharisee_n do_v lest_o with_o the_o pharisee_fw-mi they_o shall_v be_v condemn_v but_o rather_o with_o the_o humble_a and_o poor_a publican_n confess_v themselves_o sinful_a wretch_n unworthy_a to_o look_v up_o to_o heaven_n call_v and_o crave_v for_o mercy_n that_o with_o the_o publican_n they_o may_v be_v pronounce_v of_o christ_n to_o be_v justify_v the_o godly_a do_v learn_v that_o when_o the_o scripture_n say_v that_o by_o good_a and_o merciful_a work_n we_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n favour_n we_o be_v teach_v then_o to_o know_v what_o christ_n by_o his_o intercession_n and_o mediation_n obtain_v for_o we_o of_o his_o father_n when_o we_o be_v obedient_a to_o his_o will_n yea_o they_o learn_v in_o such_o manner_n of_o speak_v a_o comfortable_a argument_n of_o god_n singular_a favour_n and_o love_n that_o attribute_v that_o unto_o we_o and_o to_o our_o do_n that_o he_o by_o his_o spirit_n work_v in_o we_o and_o through_o his_o grace_n procure_v for_o we_o and_o yet_o this_o notwithstanding_o they_o cry_v out_o with_o st._n paul_n o_o wretch_n that_o we_o be_v and_o acknowledge_v as_o christ_n teach_v that_o when_o they_o have_v all_o do_v they_o be_v but_o poor_a pilgrim_n and_o meek_a soul_n ride_v upon_o a_o ass_n but_o like_o a_o valiant_a and_o mighty_a king_n in_o great_a royalty_n and_o honour_n not_o as_o christ_n do_v with_o a_o few_o fisherman_n and_o man_n of_o small_a estimation_n in_o the_o world_n but_o with_o a_o great_a army_n of_o strong_a man_n with_o a_o great_a train_n of_o wise_a and_o noble_a man_n as_o knight_n lord_n
