thou_o shall_v have_v then_o and_o that_o thou_o shall_v be_v sure_a to_o come_v off_o with_o credit_n at_o that_o day_n when_o the_o glorious_a judge_n of_o quick_a and_o dead_a shall_v confess_v and_o you_o shall_v see_v every_o thing_n in_o its_o prime_n faith_n strong_a and_o love_v strong_a and_o patience_n strong_a and_o comfort_v strong_a so_o that_o as_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v and_o reason_n of_o it_o be_v go_v but_o if_o thou_o trust_v god_n and_o love_n god_n because_o he_o command_v thou_o and_o because_o he_o be_v a_o faithful_a and_o good_a god_n here_o be_v a_o cause_n and_o ground_n and_o reason_n for_o thy_o religion_n which_o nothing_o can_v take_v away_o and_o so_o thy_o holiness_n and_o godliness_n be_v everlasting_a because_o it_o be_v build_v and_o ground_v upon_o a_o everlasting_a foundation_n end_v 10._o to_o try_v his_o people_n whether_o they_o will_v leave_v this_o world_n and_o come_v to_o he_o in_o the_o other_o world_n belove_a we_o shall_v live_v in_o this_o world_n so_o as_o to_o be_v always_o ready_a at_o a_o hour_n warning_n to_o leave_v all_o and_o to_o go_v into_o eternity_n now_o when_o god_n send_v a_o sickness_n we_o in_o three_o thing_n 1._o he_o must_v be_v settle_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n that_o be_v he_o must_v have_v a_o scripture-right_a to_o god_n as_o he_o be_v the_o god_n of_o salvation_n by_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o a_o right_a to_o heaven_n and_o to_o all_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n 2._o he_o must_v be_v wrought_v into_o a_o gracious_a frame_n whereby_o he_o be_v bend_v to_o yield_v up_o himself_o in_o subjection_n and_o obedience_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o sickness_n and_o in_o death_n last_o here_o be_v that_o which_o spirit_n be_v so_o far_o convince_v of_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n as_o to_o judge_v it_o the_o great_a evil_n in_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o to_o loathe_v it_o and_o abhor_v it_o most_o and_o to_o desire_v more_o to_o be_v save_v from_o it_o then_o from_o any_o evil_n and_o this_o be_v one_o great_a use_n of_o all_o affliction_n thus_o to_o convince_v we_o of_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n jer._n 2.19_o thou_o own_o wickedness_n shall_v correct_v thou_o know_v therefore_o and_o see_v that_o it_o be_v a_o evil_a thing_n and_o bitter_a that_o thou_o have_v forsake_v the_o lord_n thy_o prepare_v they_o for_o great_a mercy_n belove_a sometime_o mercy_n be_v more_o dangerous_a for_o god_n people_n than_o affliction_n they_o be_v often_o worse_o in_o plenty_n then_o in_o poverty_n in_o credit_n then_o in_o disgrace_n more_o secure_a in_o health_n and_o ease_n then_o in_o pain_n and_o sickness_n this_o happen_v when_o our_o mercy_n be_v too_o big_a for_o our_o grace_n as_o when_o for_o it_o teach_v he_o to_o use_v friend_n land_n food_n and_o all_o his_o temporal_a enjoyment_n for_o eternity_n he_o hereby_o learn_v to_o turn_v his_o treasure_n in_o earth_n into_o treasure_n in_o heaven_n this_o make_v he_o at_o the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o leave_v father_n and_o mother_n and_o land_n and_o life_n know_v that_o he_o shall_v receive_v the_o comfort_n of_o all_o in_o always_o remember_v that_o you_o carry_v death_n in_o your_o body_n therefore_o be_v sure_a to_o carry_v grace_n in_o your_o soul_n last_o woman_n that_o be_v with_o child_n have_v special_a reason_n
