to_o tell_v man_n we_o be_v thankful_a to_o god_n though_o man_n can_v reprove_v we_o nor_o distinguish_v between_o our_o dissimulation_n and_o true_a thankfulness_n who_o will_v or_o can_v have_v condemn_v ananias_n and_o saphira_n that_o voluntary_o give_v the_o most_o part_n of_o their_o good_n to_o the_o use_n of_o god_n people_n &_o yet_o the_o holy_a ghost_n find_v their_o hypocrisy_n oftentimes_o give_v new_a gift_n as_o health_n wealth_n honour_n office_n favour_n of_o friend_n a_o good_a wife_n and_o dutiful_a child_n and_o many_o such_o like_a earthly_a blessing_n to_o the_o most_o unthankful_a by_o which_o the_o mind_n of_o carnal_a man_n be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o besot_v in_o observe_v that_o all_o thing_n succeed_v so_o well_o they_o think_v god_n be_v well_o please_v with_o they_o flatter_v themselves_o that_o they_o stand_v much_o in_o god_n favour_n because_o their_o occasion_n succeed_v better_a than_o other_o man_n persuade_v themselves_o that_o to_o keep_v a_o formal_a &_o moral_a course_n of_o life_n among_o man_n and_o to_o make_v a_o superficial_a show_n of_o thankfulness_n unto_o god_n and_o at_o their_o death_n to_o allot_v some_o matter_n of_o force_a benevolence_n to_o the_o world_n as_o the_o build_n of_o a_o almshouse_n hospital_n college_n or_o such_o like_a be_v so_o high_a a_o recompense_n to_o god_n for_o the_o loan_n of_o his_o benefit_n as_o he_o rest_v rather_o in_o such_o a_o benefactor_n debt_n for_o this_o good_a deed_n than_o such_o a_o vainglorious_a giver_n indebt_v to_o god_n for_o his_o long_o use_v and_o abuse_v of_o his_o blessing_n by_o which_o i_o condemn_v not_o such_o work_n tend_v to_o charitable_a use_n as_o be_v do_v in_o due_a time_n and_o by_o man_n first_o seek_v to_o be_v themselves_o in_o the_o true_a favour_n of_o god_n before_o they_o so_o seek_v the_o glory_n and_o commendation_n of_o the_o world_n for_o i_o presume_v to_o say_v that_o the_o bestow_n of_o man_n good_n while_o they_o be_v their_o own_o by_o their_o own_o hand_n in_o secret_a to_o the_o needy_a member_n of_o christ_n be_v more_o acceptable_a to_o god_n than_o the_o former_a though_o commendable_a intendment_n after_o
