you_o can_v never_o effect_v your_o end_n thereby_o as_o to_o force_v all_o into_o a_o conformity_n and_o uniformity_n to_o your_o church_n and_o religion_n but_o though_o death_n and_o banishment_n and_o the_o loss_n of_o all_o be_v inflict_v yet_o such_o a_o thing_n can_v be_v effect_v neither_o be_v it_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n to_o promote_v his_o church_n and_o to_o convert_v the_o of_o conscience_n and_o their_o heart_n will_v be_v dis-engaged_n in_o love_n and_o affection_n to_o youward_n and_o this_o will_v be_v infallible_o the_o effect_n of_o persecution_n for_o conscience_n sake_n as_o king_n charles_n the_o first_o say_v in_o his_o meditation_n a_o charitable_a connivance_n and_o christian_a toleration_n often_o dissipate_v their_o strength_n when_o rough_a opposition_n fortify_v and_o put_v the_o despise_a and_o oppress_a party_n into_o such_o combination_n as_o may_v most_o enable_v they_o to_o get_v a_o full_a revenge_n on_o those_o they_o count_v their_o persecutor_n etc._n etc._n 10._o consider_v if_o you_o force_v worship_n and_o religion_n and_o cause_n man_n to_o conform_v against_o their_o judgement_n how_o dangerous_a be_v this_o to_o destroy_v man_n soul_n and_o to_o lead_v 〈◊〉_d even_o to_o destruction_n for_o see_v you_o affirm_v not_o the_o infallibility_n of_o your_o worship_n and_o religion_n and_o yet_o will_v impose_v they_o and_o so_o engage_v man_n soul_n in_o depandancy_n for_o salvation_n upon_o thing_n and_o way_n uncertain_a and_o which_o god_n give_v not_o the_o faith_n to_o believe_v in_o i_o say_v how_o dangerous_a be_v this_o to_o ruin_v soul_n for_o in_o no_o way_n can_v the_o soul_n be_v secure_a but_o in_o the_o faith_n which_o god_n work_v in_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o obedience_n of_o infallible_a truth_n so_o you_o 〈◊〉_d man_n soul_n upon_o a_o rock_n and_o it_o be_v unreasonable_a as_o before_o mention_v that_o man_n shall_v be_v force_v into_o the_o profession_n and_o practice_n the_o antichrist_n and_o the_o beast_n that_o first_o force_v all_o to_o worship_n and_o violent_o engage_v all_o into_o a_o conformity_n and_o kill_v and_o persecute_v all_o that_o will_v not_o worship_v according_a to_o the_o image_n rev._n 13._o as_o you_o may_v read_v and_o it_o be_v not_o christ_n way_n nor_o the_o practice_n of_o any_o of_o his_o primitive_a church_n to_o impose_v and_o force_v on_o the_o person_n and_o conscience_n of_o man_n concern_v their_o church_n and_o religion_n to_o cause_v all_o into_o a_o conformity_n thereunto_o and_o destroy_v and_o persecute_v all_o that_o will_v not_o this_o be_v not_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n in_o their_o day_n but_o they_o leave_v religion_n free_a and_o say_v they_o be_v not_o lord_n over_o man_n faith_n nor_o lord_n over_o god_n heritage_n neither_o do_v impose_v upon_o any_o in_o doubtful_a case_n of_o conscience_n much_o less_o compel_v against_o man_n conscience_n for_o the_o apostle_n and_o follow_v the_o way_n and_o example_n of_o antichrist_n heathen_a ruler_n and_o cruel_a papist_n to_o your_o great_a dishonour_n 12._o consider_v if_o you_o allow_v not_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n but_o impose_v and_o persecute_v about_o the_o same_o it_o must_v inavoidable_o tend_v to_o destroy_v and_o expel_v trading_n husbandry_n and_o merchandise_n in_o these_o kingdom_n for_o a_o great_a part_n of_o trading_n and_o husbandry_n depend_v upon_o such_o kind_n of_o person_n who_o principle_n be_v for_o toleration_n in_o religion_n and_o hate_v persecution_n and_o violence_n in_o that_o case_n this_o you_o will_v find_v true_a on_o examination_n and_o if_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n be_v not_o allow_v such_o will_v be_v expose_v to_o great_a affliction_n some_o to_o imprisonment_n and_o some_o to_o poverty_n and_o some_o to_o flee_v into_o other_o country_n to_o the_o destruction_n of_o their_o calling_n and_o trade_n and_o the_o hand_n and_o industriousnes_n of_o such_o people_n will_v be_v weaken_v in_o these_o kingdom_n if_o they_o can_v enjoy_v their_o just_a liberty_n in_o temporal_a &_o spiritual_a case_n and_o the_o effect_n thereof_o will_v work_v woeful_o in_o this_o very_a respect_n even_o to_o dis-enable_a both_o the_o heart_n and_o hand_n of_o husbandman_n and_o trade_n and_o expose_v these_o nation_n to_o want_v and_o poverty_n and_o to_o enrich_v their_o enemy_n 13._o consider_v if_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n be_v deny_v and_o persecution_n be_v introduce_v about_o the_o same_o all_o these_o and_o many_o more_o woeful_a consequence_n and_o effect_n will_v follow_v infallible_o to_o the_o ruin_n of_o these_o kingdom_n even_o war_n and_o bloodshed_n and_o discontent_n and_o murmur_n and_o all_o evil_a thing_n will_v be_v the_o product_n of_o the_o aforesaid_a cause_n viz._n of_o deny_v liberty_n of_o conscience_n in_o religious_a matter_n for_o in_o a_o word_n it_o will_v tend_v to_o and_o may_v effect_v the_o overthrow_n of_o you_o and_o ruin_v your_o government_n and_o authority_n for_o the_o great_a and_o mighty_a god_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n will_v be_v provoke_v against_o you_o and_o his_o wrath_n will_v go_v out_o like_o a_o devour_a flame_n upon_o you_o if_o that_o you_o limit_v the_o holy_a one_o and_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o to_o exercise_v his_o proper_a right_n in_o be_v king_n in_o man_n conscience_n to_o exercise_v they_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o his_o worship_n and_o matter_n of_o his_o kingdom_n but_o do_v oppress_v impose_v and_o persecute_v about_o the_o same_o this_o i_o say_v will_v infallible_o work_v the_o kingdom_n ruin_n and_o expose_v you_o and_o your_o government_n to_o the_o indignation_n of_o the_o holy_a lord_n god_n who_o be_v tender_a of_o his_o honour_n and_o will_v not_o give_v it_o to_o another_o and_o he_o love_v and_o effect_v the_o cause_n of_o such_o who_o conscience_n be_v true_o tender_a towards_o he_o and_o though_o you_o persecute_v such_o and_o seek_v to_o destroy_v they_o and_o for_o a_o time_n exercise_v great_a afflictio_fw-la and_o oppression_n upon_o they_o for_o the_o matter_n of_o their_o conscience_n yet_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n will_v appear_v for_o such_o in_o his_o season_n and_o deliver_v they_o and_o avenge_v their_o persecutor_n and_o therefore_o all_o
