within_o a_o warm_a room_n at_o a_o rich_a banquet_n such_o be_v a_o good_a conscience_n a_o feast_n yea_o a_o continual_a feast_n the_o believer_n look_v on_o his_o christ_n and_o in_o he_o read_v his_o deliverance_n from_o condemnation_n and_o that_o be_v a_o strong_a comfort_n a_o cordial_n that_o keep_v he_o from_o faint_v in_o the_o great_a distress_n the_o conscience_n give_v this_o testimony_n that_o sin_n be_v forgive_v raise_v the_o soul_n above_o inward_a suffering_n tell_v the_o christian_a of_o loss_n of_o good_n or_o liberty_n or_o friend_n or_o life_n he_o answer_v all_o with_o this_o christ_n be_v i_o and_o my_o sin_n be_v pardon_v that_o be_v enough_o for_o i_o what_o will_v i_o not_o have_v suffer_v to_o have_v be_v deliver_v from_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n if_o all_o my_o life_n yet_o how_o soon_o shall_v i_o have_v do_v with_o it_o and_o the_o delight_n that_o reach_v no_o further_o and_o then_o to_o have_v everlasting_a burn_n eternity_n of_o wrath_n to_o enter_v to_o how_o can_v i_o be_v satisfy_v with_o that_o estate_n all_o you_o offer_v a_o man_n in_o this_o posture_n be_v as_o if_o you_o shall_v set_v dainty_a fair_a and_o bring_v music_n with_o it_o to_o a_o man_n lie_v almost_o press_v to_o death_n under_o great_a weight_n and_o you_o bid_v he_o eat_v and_o be_v merry_a but_o lift_v not_o off_o his_o pressure_n you_o do_v but_o mock_v the_o man_n and_o add_v to_o his_o misery_n on_o the_o other_o side_n he_o that_o have_v get_v but_o a_o view_n of_o his_o christ_n and_o read_v his_o own_o pardon_n in_o christ_n suffering_n he_o can_v rejoice_v in_o this_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o other_o suffering_n and_o look_v on_o death_n without_o apprehension_n yea_o with_o gladness_n the_o sting_n be_v out_o christ_n have_v make_v all_o pleasant_a to_o he_o by_o this_o one_o thing_n that_o he_o suffer_v once_o for_o sin_n christ_n have_v perfume_v the_o cross_n and_o the_o grave_a and_o make_v all_o sweet_a the_o pardon_a man_n find_v himself_o light_a skip_v and_o leap_v and_o through_o christ_n strengthen_v he_o he_o can_v encounter_v with_o any_o trouble_n if_o you_o think_v to_o shut_v in_o his_o spirit_n within_o outward_a suffering_n it_o be_v now_o as_o samson_n in_o his_o strength_n able_a to_o carry_v away_o the_o gate_n on_o his_o back_n that_o you_o will_v shut_v one_o withal_o yea_o can_v submit_v patient_o to_o the_o lord_n hand_n in_o any_o correction_n thou_o have_v forgive_v my_o sin_n therefore_o deal_v with_o i_o as_o thou_o will_v all_o be_v well_o 1._o learn_v to_o consider_v more_o deep_o and_o esteem_v more_o high_o of_o christ_n and_o his_o suffering_n to_o silence_v our_o grumble_n at_o our_o petty_a light_a cross_n for_o so_o they_o be_v in_o comparison_n of_o he_o will_v not_o the_o great_a odds_o of_o his_o perfect_a innocency_n and_o oâ—_n his_o nature_n and_o measure_n of_o his_o suffering_n will_v not_o the_o sense_n of_o that_o redemption_n of_o our_o soul_n from_o death_n by_o his_o death_n will_v none_o of_o these_o nor_o all_o of_o they_o argue_v we_o into_o more_o thankfulness_n and_o love_n to_o he_o and_o patience_n in_o our_o trial_n why_o will_v we_o then_o be_v call_v christian_n 61._o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o be_v fretful_a and_o malcontent_a with_o the_o lord_n be_v deal_v with_o we_o in_o any_o kind_n till_o first_o we_o have_v forget_v how_o he_o deal_v with_o his_o dear_a son_n for_o our_o sake_n but_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o weigh_v by_o the_o most_o we_o hear_v and_o speak_v of_o they_o but_o our_o heart_n receive_v not_o the_o impression_n of_o they_o therefore_o we_o repine_v against_o our_o lord_n and_o father_n and_o drown_v a_o hundred_o great_a blessing_n in_o any_o little_a touch_n of_o trouble_n that_o befall_v we_o 2._o seek_v sure_a interest_n in_o christ_n and_o his_o suffering_n than_o the_o most_o either_o have_v attain_v or_o be_v aspire_v to_o otherwise_o all_o that_o be_v here_o suffer_v will_v not_o ease_v or_o comfort_v thou_o any_o thing_n in_o any_o kind_n of_o suffer_v no_o though_o thou_o suffer_v for_o a_o good_a cause_n even_o for_o his_o cause_n still_o this_o will_v be_v a_o extraneous_a foreign_a thing_n to_o thou_o to_o tell_v thou_o of_o his_o suffering_n will_v work_v no_o otherwise_o with_o thou_o than_o some_o other_o common_a story_n and_o as_o in_o the_o day_n of_o peace_n thou_o regard_v it_o no_o more_o so_o in_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o trouble_n thou_o shall_v receive_v no_o more_o comfort_n from_o it_o other_o thing_n you_o esteem_v shall_v have_v no_o comfort_n to_o speak_v to_o you_o though_o you_o pursue_v they_o with_o word_n as_o solomon_n say_v of_o the_o poor_a man_n friend_n yet_o they_o shall_v be_v want_v to_o you_o and_o then_o you_o will_v sure_o find_v how_o happy_a it_o be_v to_o have_v this_o to_o turn_v you_o to_o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n suffer_v for_o sin_n and_o for_o you_o and_o therefore_o have_v make_v it_o a_o light_n and_o comfortable_a business_n to_o you_o to_o undergo_v momentary_a pass_v suffering_n day_n of_o trial_n will_v come_v do_v you_o not_o see_v they_o be_v on_o we_o already_o be_v persuade_v to_o turn_v your_o eye_n and_o desire_n more_o towards_o christ._n this_o be_v the_o thing_n we_o will_v still_o press_v the_o support_n and_o happiness_n of_o your_o soul_n lie_v on_o it_o but_o you_o will_v not_o believe_v it_o oh_o that_o you_o know_v the_o comfort_n and_o sweetness_n of_o christ._n oh_o that_o one_o will_v speak_v that_o know_v more_o of_o they_o be_v you_o once_o but_o enter_v into_o this_o knowledge_n of_o he_o and_o the_o virtue_n of_o his_o suffering_n you_o will_v account_v all_o your_o day_n but_o lose_v wherein_o you_o have_v not_o know_v he_o and_o in_o all_o time_n your_o heart_n will_v find_v no_o refreshment_n like_a to_o the_o remembrance_n of_o his_o love_n have_v somewhat_o consider_v these_o suffering_n as_o the_o apostle_n argument_n for_o his_o present_a purpose_n now_o to_o take_v near_a notice_n of_o the_o particular_n by_o which_o he_o illustrate_v they_o as_o the_o main_a point_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o comfort_n of_o they_o here_o two_o thing_n 1._o their_o cause_n 2._o their_o kind_a their_o cause_n both_o their_o merit_a cause_n and_o their_o final_a cause_n 1._o what_o in_o we_o procure_v these_o suffering_n unto_o christ._n 2._o what_o those_o his_o suffering_n procure_v unto_o we_o our_o guiltiness_n bring_v suffer_v upon_o he_o and_o his_o suffering_n bring_v we_o unto_o god_n 1._o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n have_v the_o evil_a of_o punishment_n inseparable_o tie_v to_o it_o we_o have_v a_o natural_a obligation_n of_o obedience_n unto_o god_n and_o he_o just_o urge_v it_o so_o that_o where_o the_o command_n of_o his_o law_n be_v break_v the_o curse_n of_o it_o present_o follow_v and_o though_o it_o be_v simple_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o supreme_a lawgiver_n to_o have_v dispense_v the_o infliction_n yet_o have_v in_o his_o wisdom_n purpose_v to_o be_v know_v a_o just_a god_n in_o that_o way_n follow_v forth_o the_o tenor_n of_o his_o law_n of_o necessity_n there_o must_v be_v a_o suffering_n for_o sin_n thus_o the_o angel_n that_o keep_v not_o their_o station_n fall_v from_o it_o fall_v into_o a_o dungeon_n where_o they_o be_v under_o chain_n of_o darkness_n reserve_v to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o great_a day_n and_o man_n fall_v under_o the_o sentence_n of_o death_n but_o in_o this_o be_v the_o difference_n betwixt_o man_n and_o they_o they_o be_v not_o of_o one_o as_o parent_n or_o common_a root_n of_o the_o rest_n but_o each_o one_o fall_v or_o stand_v for_o himself_o alone_o so_o a_o part_n of_o they_o only_o perish_v but_o man_n fall_v altogether_o so_o that_o not_o one_o of_o all_o the_o race_n can_v escape_v condemnation_n unless_o some_o other_o way_n of_o satisfaction_n be_v find_v out_o and_o here_o it_o be_v christ_n suffer_v for_o sin_n the_o just_a for_o the_o unjust_a father_n say_v he_o i_o have_v glorify_v thou_o on_o earth_n in_o this_o plot_n indeed_o do_v all_o the_o divine_a attribute_n shine_v in_o their_o full_a infinite_a mercy_n and_o immense_a thou_o be_v i_o and_o i_o be_o glorify_v in_o they_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o those_o he_o suffer_v stand_v in_o their_o room_n and_o what_o he_o do_v and_o suffer_v according_a to_o the_o law_n of_o transgression_n of_o the_o first_o adam_n that_o bring_v on_o the_o curse_n of_o his_o seed_n bear_v by_o the_o second_o adam_n to_o take_v it_o away_o from_o all_o that_o be_v his_o seed_n that_o be_v in_o he_o as_o their_o root_n he_o the_o great_a high_a priest_n appear_v before_o god_n with_o the_o name_n of_o the_o elect_a upon_o his_o shoulder_n and_o in_o his_o heart_n bear_v they_o and_o all_o their_o burden_n and_o offer_v for_o they_o not_o any_o other_o sacrifice_n but_o himself_o charge_v all_o their_o sin_n on_o himself_o as_o the_o priest_n do_v the_o sin_n of_o the_o comfort_n and_o health_n to_o enjoy_v all_o those_o yet_o one_o thing_n thou_o must_v admit_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o these_o within_o a_o while_n thou_o must_v die_v and_o have_v no_o real_a portion_n in_o christ_n but_o a_o delude_a dream_n of_o it_o thou_o sinke_v through_o possible_o that_o death_n into_o another_o death_n far_o more_o terrible_a of_o all_o thou_o enjoy_v nothing_o go_v along_o with_o thou_o but_o unpardoned_a sin_n and_o that_o deliver_v thou_o up_o to_o endless_a sorrow_n oh_o that_o you_o be_v wise_a and_o will_v consider_v your_o latter_a end_n do_v not_o still_o gaze_v about_o you_o upon_o trifle_n but_o yet_o be_v entreat_v to_o take_v notice_n of_o your_o saviour_n and_o receive_v he_o that_o he_o may_v be_v you_o fasten_v your_o belief_n and_o your_o love_n on_o he_o give_v he_o all_o your_o heart_n that_o stick_v not_o to_o give_v himself_o a_o offering_n for_o your_o sin_n 2._o to_o you_o that_o have_v flee_v into_o he_o for_o refuge_n if_o sensible_a of_o the_o church_n distress_n be_v uphold_v with_o this_o thought_n that_o he_o that_o suffer_v for_o it_o will_v not_o suffer_v it_o to_o be_v undo_v all_o the_o rage_n of_o enemy_n yea_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n shall_v not_o prevail_v against_o it_o he_o may_v for_o a_o time_n suffer_v they_o to_o be_v bring_v low_a for_o the_o â—ins_n of_o his_o people_n and_o other_o wise_a reason_n but_o he_o will_v not_o utter_o forsake_v they_o though_o there_o be_v much_o chaff_n yet_o he_o have_v a_o precious_a number_n in_o these_o kingdom_n that_o he_o shed_v his_o blood_n for_o many_o god_n have_v call_v and_o yet_o be_v to_o call_v he_o will_v not_o lose_v any_o of_o his_o flock_n that_o he_o have_v buy_v so_o dear_a acts._n 20._o and_o for_o their_o sake_n he_o will_v at_o one_o time_n repair_v our_o breach_n and_o establish_v his_o throne_n in_o these_o kingdom_n 2._o for_o yourselves_o what_o can_v affright_v you_o while_o this_o be_v in_o your_o eye_n let_v other_o tremble_v at_o the_o apprehension_n of_o sword_n or_o pestilence_n but_o sure_o you_o have_v for_o they_o and_o all_o other_o hazard_v a_o most_o satisfy_a answer_n in_o this_o 3._o my_o christ_n all_o so_o we_o be_v bring_v once_o for_o all_o we_o may_v be_v sensible_o near_o at_o one_o time_n than_o another_o but_o yet_o we_o can_v never_o be_v separate_z nor_o cut_v off_o be_v once_o knit_v
