that_o god_n have_v in_o the_o most_o holy_a and_o venerable_a sacrament_n of_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n make_v himself_o a_o mean_n that_o we_o may_v attain_v the_o one_o by_o despise_v the_o other_o which_o holy_a mystery_n be_v institute_v that_o it_o may_v serve_v as_o a_o pledge_n of_o those_o eternal_a good_n and_o therefore_o the_o holy_a church_n call_v it_o a_o pledge_n of_o it_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o impudence_n to_o use_n god_n as_o a_o medium_fw-la for_o the_o obtain_n of_o that_o which_o do_v or_o may_v separate_v we_o from_o he_o who_o be_v our_o chief_a and_o the_o sun_n in_o the_o same_o manner_n the_o eternal_a be_v a_o good_a in_o itself_o and_o desirable_a for_o itself_o the_o temporal_a have_v no_o good_a at_o all_o but_o what_o it_o acquire_v by_o let_v we_o sigh_v for_o this_o let_v we_o pray_v and_o let_v we_o reflect_v how_o great_a and_o faulty_a a_o carelessness_n it_o be_v not_o to_o pray_v ever_o for_o that_o which_o import_v we_o so_o much_o as_o heaven_n and_o for_o which_o only_o we_o have_v a_o certain_a promise_n to_o be_v hear_v and_o not_o for_o other_o thing_n which_o the_o world_n esteem_v and_o time_n consume_v cap._n vii_o how_o happy_a be_v those_o who_o renounce_v temporal_a good_n for_o the_o secure_n of_o the_o eternal_a if_o all_o which_o have_v be_v say_v suffice_v not_o to_o make_v we_o despise_v the_o good_n of_o the_o earth_n for_o the_o gain_n of_o those_o blessing_n we_o hope_v for_o in_o heaven_n and_o if_o neither_o the_o example_n nor_o remonstrance_n of_o our_o saviour_n will_v serve_v to_o make_v we_o esteem_v the_o eternal_a and_o contemn_v the_o temporal_a but_o that_o we_o will_v for_o all_o this_o prefer_v the_o one_o though_o little_a and_o base_a because_o present_v before_o the_o other_o though_o great_a and_o immense_a because_o to_o come_v yet_o let_v our_o present_a interest_n and_o the_o word_n and_o promise_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n move_v we_o which_o certain_o if_o serious_o weigh_v will_v not_o only_o persuade_v we_o to_o despise_v but_o total_o to_o renounce_v the_o good_n of_o the_o world_n as_o many_o of_o the_o philosopher_n have_v do_v that_o they_o may_v more_o free_o enjoy_v the_o pleasure_n and_o commodity_n of_o this_o life_n and_o many_o saint_n for_o the_o hope_n they_o have_v have_v of_o the_o other_o let_v we_o here_o call_v to_o mind_n what_o be_v say_v by_o the_o saviour_n of_o the_o world_n 19_o mat._n 19_o whosoever_o shall_v leave_v father_n or_o mother_n or_o brother_n or_o sister_n or_o house_n or_o land_n for_o my_o sake_n shall_v in_o this_o life_n receive_v a_o hundred-fold_n and_o after_o death_n life_n eternal_a in_o which_o word_n we_o be_v to_o consider_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o promise_n and_o the_o importance_n of_o that_o for_o which_o so_o great_a thing_n be_v promise_v without_o doubt_v it_o must_v be_v of_o high_a concernment_n to_o renounce_v our_o temporal_a good_n since_o the_o son_n of_o god_n invite_v we_o to_o it_o with_o so_o great_a promise_n and_o if_o it_o be_v convenient_a to_o renounce_v they_o as_o thing_n poisonous_a and_o hurtful_a to_o we_o we_o can_v have_v no_o excuse_n for_o not_o despise_v they_o or_o at_o least_o if_o we_o do_v not_o despise_v they_o yet_o we_o can_v have_v no_o reason_n to_o love_n and_o prefer_v they_o before_o the_o eternal_a much_o and_o extreme_o much_o it_o will_v concern_v we_o to_o despise_v that_o which_o be_v convenient_a for_o we_o to_o leave_v and_o as_o much_o to_o pluck_v from_o our_o heart_n the_o affection_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o fit_a for_o we_o to_o possess_v neither_o be_v it_o much_o to_o say_v that_o it_o be_v advantageous_a for_o we_o to_o renounce_v these_o temporal_a thing_n since_o st._n bonaventure_n judge_v it_o necessary_a and_o therefore_o according_a to_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o the_o root_n of_o all_o evil_n be_v avarice_n from_o which_o and_o from_o pride_n which_o
