after_o a_o few_o day_n we_o shall_v live_v with_o he_o for_o ever_o but_o in_o these_o word_n we_o first_o of_o all_o note_n when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o must_v buy_v it_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o ruth_n the_o moabitesse_n the_o wife_n of_o the_o decease_a that_o one_o cause_n both_o of_o the_o redemption_n of_o land_n and_o marriage_n of_o the_o brother_n or_o next_o heir_n to_o the_o widow_n be_v for_o the_o woman_n or_o widow_n sake_n namely_o that_o she_o shall_v not_o be_v leave_v destitute_a for_o we_o read_v in_o the_o gospel_n of_o luke_n â—_o that_o barrenness_n be_v a_o great_a reproach_n among_o woman_n in_o those_o day_n now_o we_o know_v that_o this_o law_n be_v only_o for_o barren_a widow_n and_o not_o for_o they_o that_o be_v fruitful_a and_o who_o will_v marry_v with_o although_o we_o be_v not_o bind_v to_o this_o law_n of_o marriage_n yet_o we_o be_v tie_v to_o do_v good_a to_o the_o widow_n for_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o law_n be_v long_o since_o abrogate_a yet_o the_o use_n thereof_o remain_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o for_o maintenance_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n must_v be_v allow_v they_o wherewithal_o they_o may_v live_v their_o husband_n be_v dead_a therefore_o boaz_n tell_v his_o kinsman_n that_o he_o must_v redeem_v the_o inheritance_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o ruth_n the_o moabitesse_n because_o by_o her_o marriage_n it_o be_v make_v the_o daughter_n to_o be_v a_o thing_n allowable_a by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n yet_o many_o offend_v in_o the_o excess_n that_o they_o will_v never_o match_v where_o they_o can_v have_v none_o though_o there_o be_v never_o so_o great_a hope_n in_o time_n to_o come_v so_o that_o wealth_n and_o nothing_o else_o be_v the_o end_n of_o most_o marriage_n then_o by_o this_o we_o see_v condemn_v first_o all_o those_o which_o have_v sufficient_a will_v hardly_o leave_v to_o their_o wife_n anything_o beside_o that_o which_o they_o can_v keep_v from_o they_o and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o many_o leave_n to_o their_o child_n hundred_o and_o thousand_o but_o scant_o twentyes_n or_o fortye_n to_o their_o helpless_a widow_n other_o have_v many_o child_n leave_v the_o great_a part_n of_o their_o wealth_n to_o their_o widow_n through_o who_o youthful_a marriage_n many_o time_n their_o whole_a posterity_n be_v bring_v to_o poverty_n but_o a_o three_o sort_n there_o be_v which_o mind_v nothing_o save_o only_a marriage_n and_o to_o borrow_v a_o little_a for_o their_o festival_n day_n but_o afterward_o let_v the_o world_n sink_v or_o swim_v child_n without_o bread_n wife_n without_o comfort_n themselves_o as_o bare_a as_o the_o grasshopper_n in_o winter_n and_o their_o whole_a family_n most_o pitiful_o torment_v they_o repent_v though_o all_o too_o late_o the_o child_n wish_v they_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v the_o parent_n curse_v the_o day_n of_o their_o first_o acquaintance_n the_o family_n complain_v of_o poverty_n the_o country_n of_o charge_n the_o people_n of_o necessity_n but_o they_o poor_a silly_a soul_n the_o innocent_a infant_n be_v leave_v to_o the_o merciless_a world_n to_o live_v in_o beggary_n oh_o that_o this_o godly_a forecast_n will_v enter_v into_o the_o mind_n of_o many_o headlong_a parent_n that_o their_o life_n may_v be_v more_o bless_a their_o child_n more_o happy_a their_o family_n more_o content_v the_o country_n better_o furnish_v and_o the_o poor_a better_o succour_v that_o there_o may_v be_v no_o complain_v in_o our_o street_n no_o lead_n into_o captivity_n and_o not_o one_o feeble_a person_n among_o we_o that_o our_o son_n may_v be_v as_o the_o fruitful_a garner_n and_o our_o daughter_n like_o the_o polish_a corner_n of_o the_o temple_n oh_o blessed_a be_v the_o people_n that_o be_v in_o such_o a_o case_n yea_o blessed_a be_v the_o people_n who_o god_n be_v the_o lord_n then_o shall_v the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v honour_v by_o our_o life_n and_o praise_v in_o our_o death_n when_o our_o widow_n be_v provide_v for_o our_o child_n maynetayn_v our_o family_n nourish_v and_o our_o soul_n be_v bless_v then_o the_o kinsman_n say_v this_o second_o question_n of_o marriage_n be_v propound_v the_o kinsman_n in_o these_o word_n answer_v that_o he_o can_v redeem_v the_o inheritance_n upon_o that_o condition_n and_o give_v a_o reason_n thereof_o because_o then_o to_o save_v another_o he_o shall_v destroy_v his_o own_o mean_v the_o inheritance_n but_o unwilling_a to_o marry_v the_o widow_n for_o this_o cause_n they_o oppress_v both_o child_n and_o widow_n they_o prefer_v their_o private_a gain_n before_o public_a godliness_n who_o for_o their_o posterity_n some_o be_v occupy_v in_o bribery_n some_o in_o usury_n some_o in_o extortion_n and_o many_o in_o unlawful_a bargain_v who_o only_a and_o chief_a care_n be_v for_o nothing_o but_o that_o they_o may_v die_v rich_a but_o better_a be_v poor_a lazarus_n at_o his_o death_n than_o all_o the_o rich_a glutton_n in_o the_o world_n for_o wealth_n make_v not_o to_o die_v well_o but_o rather_o choke_v the_o soul_n with_o infatiable_a care_n only_a religion_n be_v the_o sure_a badge_n of_o a_o godly_a man_n who_o riches_n be_v poverty_n who_o pleasure_n pain_n and_o who_o reward_n be_v salvation_n but_o this_o man_n be_v well_o content_v to_o
be_v by_o his_o blessing_n increase_v with_o his_o favour_n preserve_v and_o to_o his_o glory_n bestow_v nay_o nay_o if_o none_o have_v no_o more_o wealth_n then_o that_o which_o they_o have_v get_v by_o prayer_n their_o glorious_a show_n will_v in_o little_a space_n grow_v as_o bare_a as_o the_o tree_n in_o the_o winter_n when_o they_o have_v neither_o fruit_n nor_o leaf_n to_o cover_v they_o this_o i_o speak_v not_o to_o the_o discredit_n of_o any_o wealthy_a person_n but_o show_v they_o the_o way_n to_o attain_v the_o end_n of_o their_o desire_n the_o continuance_n of_o their_o
