can_v that_o thing_n either_o give_v or_o preserve_v and_o maintain_v life_n which_o have_v no_o life_n in_o itself_o and_o yet_o if_o we_o will_v consider_v of_o the_o medicine_n and_o remedy_n which_o man_n find_v in_o herb_n and_o plant_n only_o beside_o those_o which_o they_o may_v take_v from_o other_o creature_n who_o can_v in_o truth_n either_o declare_v or_o write_v i_o will_v not_o only_o gain_v but_o also_o many_o diverse_a and_o strange_a sort_n of_o disease_n and_o corporal_a infirmity_n most_o grievous_a and_o terrible_a yea_o sometime_o hideous_a and_o horrible_a which_o some_o other_o desert_n place_n and_o which_o also_o be_v oftentimes_o tread_v under_o foot_n without_o any_o account_n make_v of_o they_o many_o be_v common_o deliver_v not_o only_o from_o great_a pain_n and_o grievous_a malady_n but_o even_o from_o death_n itself_o which_o otherwise_o it_o seem_v will_v most_o certain_o approach_v wherein_o certes_o we_o have_v a_o goodly_a subject_n to_o consider_v that_o if_o god_n give_v this_o virtue_n to_o creature_n of_o small_a estimation_n in_o comparison_n of_o many_o other_o and_o that_o by_o the_o mean_n of_o they_o he_o minister_v so_o great_a help_n and_o do_v so_o much_o good_a to_o man_n what_o must_v be_v the_o power_n and_o bounty_n of_o that_o great_a and_o sovereign_a physician_n which_o make_v they_o prevail_v and_o give_v they_o power_n to_o heal_v for_o we_o must_v understand_v that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o herb_n nor_o other_o drug_n and_o preparative_n nor_o yet_o the_o apothecary_n and_n physician_n who_o make_v and_o compound_v they_o that_o be_v the_o true_a cause_n of_o restored-health_n to_o the_o sick_a but_o god_n alone_o who_o do_v not_o only_o give_v the_o remedy_n but_o also_o knowledge_n to_o man_n how_o for_o to_o use_v they_o and_o to_o be_v skilful_a how_o to_o apply_v they_o to_o their_o own_o necessity_n for_o which_o he_o have_v create_v they_o herein_o than_o we_o must_v acknowledge_v two_o great_a benefit_n that_o the_o most_o good_a and_o most_o puissant_a god_n have_v confer_v upon_o us._n the_o first_o be_v man_n two_o great_a good_a thing_n that_o god_n have_v do_v for_o man_n that_o he_o have_v give_v we_o medicine_n fit_a and_o necessary_a for_o heal_v the_o other_o be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o they_o and_o the_o theoric_n how_o to_o apply_v they_o to_o their_o convenient_a purpose_n and_o usage_n and_o one_o of_o these_o benefit_n without_o the_o other_o will_v indeed_o but_o little_a avail_n us._n for_o as_o the_o workman_n can_v work_v without_o such_o stuff_n as_o be_v requisite_a for_o he_o to_o make_v his_o work_n of_o as_o also_o it_o will_v be_v unprofitable_a if_o no_o man_n shall_v employ_v it_o and_o put_v it_o to_o use_v for_o the_o same_o cause_n god_n which_o take_v care_n of_o the_o least_o of_o his_o creature_n have_v imprint_v in_o the_o nature_n of_o brute_n beast_n that_o want_v understanding_n and_o reason_n a_o certain_a knowledge_n of_o thing_n that_o be_v fit_a for_o they_o not_o only_o for_o their_o nourishment_n but_o also_o for_o remedy_n in_o their_o disease_n so_o that_o they_o need_v no_o other_o physician_n but_o themselves_o only_o man_n what_o judgement_n must_v be_v make_v of_o the_o virtue_n that_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o earth_n do_v retain_v for_o the_o good_a of_o man_n but_o in_o this_o discourse_n we_o be_v to_o note_v what_o judgement_n we_o must_v make_v of_o so_o great_a virtue_n as_o we_o find_v in_o all_o herb_n and_o drug_n and_o by_o like_a reason_n that_o we_o must_v consider_v thereof_o in_o the_o property_n of_o corn_n bread_n wine_n and_o of_o all_o meat_n and_o drink_n which_o be_v as_o ordinary_a and_o continual_a medicine_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o life_n for_o if_o that_o which_o be_v diminish_v and_o consume_v daily_o in_o we_o be_v not_o also_o repair_v and_o restore_v daily_o by_o our_o meat_n and_o drink_v we_o shall_v fall_v sudden_o into_o grievous_a malady_n and_o final_o into_o death_n forasmuch_o then_o as_o it_o please_v god_n to_o preserve_v the_o life_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o and_o to_o maintain_v we_o in_o spherical_a body_n consider_v that_o which_o do_v touch_v their_o motion_n beside_o that_o which_o have_v be_v already_o declare_v which_o amana_n shall_v be_v the_o subject_n for_o you_o to_o discourse_v upon_o of_o the_o motion_n ingenerall_n of_o their_o first_o cause_n and_o of_o their_o union_n in_o all_o nature_n chapter_n 26._o amana_n ear_n we_o enter_v into_o the_o declaration_n notable_a sign_n of_o the_o glory_n and_o bounty_n of_o our_o god_n motion_n three_o sort_n of_o motion_n to_o understand_v then_o sufficient_o that_o which_o concern_v the_o present_a matter_n we_o
