some_o more_o frugal_a and_o profitable_a sin_n but_o in_o the_o affair_n of_o religion_n and_o the_o concernment_n of_o our_o soul_n how_o frequent_o do_v man_n act_v without_o a_o due_a regard_n and_o consideration_n of_o their_o great_a end_n and_o instead_o of_o make_v other_o thing_n submit_v to_o it_o they_o often_o bow_v and_o bend_v it_o to_o their_o inferior_a interest_n they_o make_v heaven_n stoop_v to_o earth_n and_o religion_n to_o serve_v a_o worldly_a design_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n to_o give_v way_n to_o gain_v and_o the_o great_a concernment_n of_o their_o soul_n and_o their_o eternal_a salvation_n to_o their_o temporal_a profit_n and_o advantage_n the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n be_v general_o true_a to_o their_o great_a end_n and_o pay_v it_o that_o respect_n which_o be_v due_a to_o it_o and_o will_v suffer_v nothing_o to_o take_v place_n of_o it_o in_o their_o esteem_n and_o affection_n and_o if_o man_n be_v as_o wise_a for_o their_o soul_n and_o for_o another_o world_n they_o will_v bring_v all_o thing_n to_o their_o great_a end_n and_o make_v all_o the_o concernment_n of_o this_o temporal_a life_n to_o yield_v and_o give_v way_n to_o the_o great_a concernment_n of_o their_o eternal_a happiness_n i_o proceed_v in_o the_o second_o place_n to_o give_v some_o account_n of_o this_o whence_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n be_v wise_a in_o their_o generation_n than_o the_o child_n of_o light_n and_o this_o i_o shall_v do_v by_o consider_v what_o advantage_n the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n have_v as_o to_o the_o affair_n of_o this_o world_n above_o what_o good_a man_n have_v as_o to_o the_o concernment_n of_o another_o world_n i_o shall_v instance_n in_o four_o or_o five_o of_o the_o chief_a 1_o st_o their_o distance_n and_o consequent_o be_v not_o apt_a to_o work_v so_o powerful_o upon_o our_o mind_n they_o be_v invisible_a to_o we_o and_o only_o discern_v by_o faith_n which_o be_v a_o more_o obscure_a and_o less_o certain_a perception_n of_o thing_n than_o we_o have_v of_o those_o object_n which_o be_v present_v to_o our_o bodily_a eye_n the_o thing_n which_o god_n have_v prepare_v for_o they_o that_o love_v he_o the_o glory_n and_o happiness_n of_o the_o next_o world_n be_v thing_n which_o eye_n have_v not_o see_v nor_o ear_n hear_v the_o child_n of_o light_n do_v not_o see_v god_n sense_n be_v apt_a to_o prevail_v above_o reason_n and_o therefore_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v most_o delightful_a to_o sense_n we_o savour_v and_o mind_n and_o love_n to_o busy_v ourselves_o about_o they_o because_o they_o be_v most_o suitable_a to_o the_o animal_n life_n which_o
and_o folly_n the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o world_n say_v st._n paul_n be_v foolishness_n with_o god_n the_o rich_a man_n in_o the_o parable_n who_o increase_v his_o good_n and_o enlarge_v his_o barn_n for_o we_o may_v miss_v of_o these_o thing_n after_o all_o our_o travel_n and_o pain_n about_o they_o or_o if_o we_o get_v they_o we_o may_v lose_v they_o again_o but_o if_o we_o seek_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o his_o righteousness_n if_o we_o be_v sincere_o good_a we_o be_v sure_a to_o have_v the_o reward_n of_o it_o even_o that_o eternal_a life_n which_o god_n that_o can_v lie_v have_v promise_v if_o we_o lie_v up_o for_o ourselves_o treasure_n in_o heaven_n they_o will_v be_v safe_a and_o secure_a there_o where_o no_o moth_n can_v corrupt_v nor_o thief_n break_v through_o concernment_n with_o the_o same_o fervour_n and_o intention_n of_o mind_n as_o man_n prosecute_v their_o worldly_a business_n be_v we_o full_o persuade_v of_o the_o unseen_a glory_n and_o torment_n of_o the_o other_o world_n we_o shall_v be_v much_o more_o affect_v with_o they_o than_o with_o all_o the_o temptation_n and_o terror_n of_o sense_n because_o in_o reason_n they_o be_v much_o more_o considerable_a the_o disgrace_n of_o the_o pillory_n will_v fright_v man_n from_o perjury_n and_o will_v not_o everlasting_a shame_n and_o confusion_n the_o fear_n of_o death_n will_v deter_v many_o man_n from_o rob_v and_o steal_v who_o will_v perhaps_o venture_v upon_o these_o crime_n if_o there_o be_v no_o danger_n in_o they_o and_o will_v not_o the_o horror_n of_o the_o second_o death_n of_o the_o worm_n that_o die_v not_o and_o the_o fire_n that_o be_v not_o quench_v have_v as_o great_a a_o awe_n and_o influence_n upon_o we_o if_o they_o have_v not_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o we_o do_v not_o equal_o believe_v the_o danger_n of_o human_a law_n and_o the_o damnation_n of_o hell_n sure_o man_n have_v not_o the_o same_o belief_n of_o heaven_n and_o affection_n for_o it_o that_o they_o have_v for_o this_o world_n if_o they_o have_v their_o care_n and_o diligence_n about_o these_o thing_n will_v be_v more_o equal_a for_o we_o be_v not_o so_o weak_a as_o we_o make_v ourselves_o we_o
