and_o bless_v be_v they_o that_o receive_v the_o true_a sense_n thereof_o in_o its_o operation_n and_o effect_n 12thly_a i_o also_o know_v and_o confess_v that_o it_o be_v in_o god_n infinite_a and_o free_a love_n that_o christ_n give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n for_o all_o to_o be_v testify_v of_o in_o due_a time_n and_o that_o in_o the_o same_o love_n he_o have_v give_v himself_o for_o we_o a_o offer_v and_o a_o sacrifice_n to_o god_n for_o a_o sweet_a smell_a savour_n ephes._n 5._o and_o therefore_o god_n be_v to_o be_v follow_v and_o christ_n obey_v by_o all_o that_o receive_v his_o love_n but_o now_o to_o t._n v._o his_o term_n and_o assertion_n see_v he_o have_v not_o be_v plain_a nor_o give_v any_o ingenious_a nor_o satisfactory_a answer_n i_o ask_v and_o query_n one_a where_o do_v give_v christ_n for_o his_o own_o pacification_n and_o not_o man_n real_a reformation_n whilst_o the_o notion_n of_o plenary_a satisfaction_n be_v make_v a_o cover_n or_o pretence_n for_o people_n continue_v in_o a_o imperfect_a sinful_a pollute_a state_n which_o the_o priest_n plead_v for_o the_o continuance_n of_o in_o all_o term_v of_o life_n and_o do_v not_o this_o their_o doctrine_n lead_v people_n to_o trample_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n under_o foot_n and_o this_o be_v to_o deny_v the_o one_o offer_v 3_o and_o be_v that_o the_o end_n of_o christ_n give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n be_v a_o offer_v and_o die_v for_o all_o that_o man_n may_v live_v in_o sin_n all_o their_o time_n and_o say_v they_o be_v pardon_v and_o redeem_a whilst_o they_o be_v still_o in_o bondage_n 4thly_a be_v god_n full_o satisfy_v that_o any_o shall_v live_v in_o sin_n or_o be_v his_o infinite_a justice_n satisfy_v so_o as_o not_o to_o lay_v hold_n on_o they_o in_o the_o sinful_a state_n 5thly_a if_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v reveal_v from_o heaven_n against_o all_o ungodliness_n and_o unrighteousness_n of_o man_n and_o every_o disobedience_n shall_v have_v a_o just_a recompense_n of_o reward_n how_o then_o be_v divine_a justice_n full_o satisfy_v and_o answer_v for_o all_o in_o that_o state_n without_o their_o come_n under_o the_o sense_n of_o it_o in_o themselves_o for_o if_o live_v in_o sin_n all_o their_o time_n do_v not_o this_o tend_v to_o settle_v people_n upon_o their_o lees_n and_o set_v they_o at_o ease_n in_o a_o false_a security_n in_o sin_n and_o transgression_n and_o so_o to_o deny_v the_o one_o offer_v and_o sacrifice_n that_o put_v away_o sin_n 7thly_a and_o if_o such_o a_o plenary_a satisfaction_n as_o it_o be_v call_v be_v make_v for_o some_o in_o that_o sinful_a state_n why_o not_o for_o all_o do_v you_o not_o here_o render_v god_n partial_a whereas_o christ_n die_v for_o all_o taste_v death_n for_o every_o man_n give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n for_o all_o which_o you_o presbyterian_o to_o wit_n t._n d._n and_o other_o have_v deny_v and_o so_o you_o make_v sect_n and_o therein_o have_v oppose_v scripture_n and_o the_o extent_n of_o god_n love_n towards_o mankind_n and_o his_o reason_n for_o it_o from_o scripture_n see_v that_o he_o himself_o confess_v the_o impossibility_n of_o any_o finite_a creature_n to_o make_v any_o plenary_a satisfaction_n to_o his_o offend_a justice_n and_o many_o of_o his_o brethren_n have_v confess_v the_o divine_a attribute_n to_o be_v in_o god_n and_o he_o free_a in_o they_o as_o infinite_a love_n goodness_n mercy_n as_o well_o as_o justice_n as_o also_o he_o may_v find_v in_o the_o common_a prayer_n book_n that_o the_o graciousness_n and_o mercifulness_n of_o god_n be_v confess_v unto_o more_o than_o he_o have_v do_v and_o whereas_o t._n v._o accuse_v w.p._n with_o seem_v to_o insinuate_v that_o he_o deny_v only_o the_o impossibility_n of_o god_n pardon_v sin_n without_o satisfaction_n but_o that_o his_o argument_n be_v against_o satisfaction_n itself_o he_o say_v whereas_o w._n p'_v own_o testimony_n stand_v against_o he_o in_o this_o matter_n in_o pag._n 32._o which_o t._n v._n to_o his_o own_o contradiction_n be_v also_o make_v to_o

believer_n and_o if_o he_o love_v his_o image_n in_o his_o people_n free_o than_o he_o be_v satisfy_v in_o his_o own_o image_n and_o that_o which_o bring_v to_o know_v and_o enjoy_v this_o image_n and_o the_o renew_n of_o it_o within_o be_v that_o which_o bring_v into_o love_n and_o union_n with_o god_n which_o be_v his_o divine_a spirit_n and_o power_n that_o renew_v man_n into_o the_o heavenly_a image_n and_o righteousness_n of_o the_o everlasting_a god_n which_o they_o that_o enjoy_v have_v the_o acceptable_a sacrifice_n and_o from_o thence_o can_v present_v live_v sacrifice_n unto_o god_n to_o his_o eternal_a praise_n and_o to_o t._n v'_v say_v that_o if_o christ_n be_v not_o punish_v for_o we_o to_o satisfy_v god_n justice_n it_o will_v follow_v from_o w._n p_o his_o word_n that_o christ_n shall_v be_v a_o sinner_n and_o that_o he_o be_v punish_v for_o his_o own_o sin_n reply_n that_o be_v a_o blasphemous_a consequence_n indeed_o but_o not_o true_o charge_v upon_o w._n p._n for_o he_o never_o intend_v by_o his_o word_n to_o render_v christ_n a_o sinner_n nor_o that_o he_o be_v punish_v for_o his_o own_o sin_n for_o he_o never_o sin_v but_o he_o be_v punish_v and_o suffer_v by_o sinner_n who_o by_o wicked_a hand_n and_o so_o by_o their_o injustice_n put_v he_o to_o death_n and_o under_o the_o buden_a and_o weight_n of_o their_o transgression_n he_o suffer_v as_o also_o his_o tender_a spirit_n that_o make_v intercession_n and_o suffer_v for_o transgressor_n from_o a_o foresight_n of_o the_o wrath_n that_o shall_v come_v upon_o the_o rebellious_a and_o be_v not_o the_o wicked_a the_o instrument_n that_o wound_v bruise_a and_o afflict_v he_o and_o that_o oppress_a his_o righteous_a soul_n and_o do_v not_o his_o innocent_a life_n and_o righteous_a soul_n suffer_v under_o a_o great_a oppression_n and_o weight_n of_o man_n transgression_n when_o he_o be_v in_o his_o agony_n and_o sweat_v drop_n of_o blood_n before_o his_o be_v crucify_a and_o so_o be_v not_o his_o suffer_a twofold_n both_o inward_a and_o outward_a and_o then_o if_o so_o that_o the_o pure_a life_n and_o holy_a spirit_n suffer_v as_o bear_v the_o burden_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o if_o the_o godhead_n be_v in_o christ_n so_o near_o unite_v as_o to_o bear_v up_o the_o manhood_n under_o the_o suffer_a as_o be_v confess_v how_o then_o can_v it_o be_v deem_v that_o god_n inflict_v the_o punishment_n of_o eternal_a wrath_n or_o vengeance_n on_o his_o son_n sure_o his_o permit_v wicked_a man_n by_o their_o wicked_a hand_n to_o punish_v he_o with_o a_o temporal_a suffer_v and_o death_n can_v not_o be_v his_o eternal_a wrath_n or_o vengeance_n which_o be_v suppose_v to_o answer_n and_o satisfy_v divine_a justice_n for_o man_n and_o so_o to_o acquit_v man_n living_n and_o die_v in_o sin_n a_o great_a error_n from_o eternal_a wrath_n whereas_o christ_n jesus_n be_v the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n be_v it_o not_o inconsistent_a to_o say_v that_o god_n justice_n do_v punish_v or_o execute_v wrath_n upon_o his_o love_n see_v that_o it_o be_v confess_v that_o grace_n and_o justice_n be_v very_o well_o consistent_a and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o free_a exercise_n both_o of_o justice_n and_o love_n without_o force_n or_o compulsion_n how_o do_v t.u._n his_o matter_n hang_v together_o let_v the_o moderate_a judge_n but_o have_v he_o
