it_o be_v but_o a_o small_a matter_n but_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o we_o accept_v it_o so_o in_o our_o heart_n see_v we_o take_v so_o little_a pain_n about_o it_o for_o that_o we_o may_v obtain_v the_o thing_n that_o we_o judge_v hard_a to_o come_v by_o we_o do_v not_o use_v small_a pain_n but_o great_a care_n and_o labour_n for_o otherwise_o we_o think_v that_o can_v not_o be_v have_v that_o be_v it_o that_o make_v we_o so_o careful_a for_o the_o bodily_a life_n because_o we_o see_v it_o so_o hard_a a_o thing_n that_o do_v we_o what_o we_o can_v all_o be_v little_a enough_o to_o get_v we_o our_o live_n so_o that_o if_o we_o be_v persuade_v that_o if_o it_o be_v as_o hard_a a_o matter_n to_o get_v everlasting_a life_n as_o we_o see_v it_o be_v to_o get_v a_o temporal_a thing_n we_o will_v bestow_v as_o much_o pain_n in_o the_o one_o as_o in_o the_o other_o and_o therefore_o say_v what_o we_o will_v our_o own_o heart_n condemn_v we_o that_o we_o count_v it_o but_o a_o easy_a matter_n and_o therefore_o be_v too_o negligent_a to_o provide_v for_o it_o and_o again_o the_o grief_n and_o misery_n of_o our_o soul_n we_o do_v not_o feel_v half_a so_o much_o as_o the_o pain_n and_o grief_n of_o our_o body_n and_o therefore_o that_o make_v we_o to_o be_v so_o careful_a to_o provide_v remedy_n for_o the_o one_o and_o utter_o to_o neglect_v the_o other_o if_o our_o body_n be_v but_o a_o little_a touch_v with_o sickness_n we_o can_v feel_v it_o straightway_o we_o can_v complain_v sigh_n and_o groan_v and_o because_o we_o feel_v the_o pain_n nip_v we_o there_o be_v the_o lord_n god_n be_v merciful_a we_o sleep_v in_o the_o matter_n &_o never_o go_v about_o to_o see_v his_o justice_n answer_v but_o content_v ourselves_o with_o these_o vain_a gloss_n that_o he_o be_v a_o merciful_a god_n and_o therefore_o we_o will_v never_o trouble_v ourselves_o about_o the_o matter_n to_o see_v our_o sin_n answer_v for_o why_o god_n be_v merciful_a we_o shall_v do_v well_o word_n of_o life_n they_o will_v not_o give_v their_o heart_n to_o take_v pleasure_n in_o it_o they_o will_v not_o use_v their_o foot_n to_o seek_v after_o life_n they_o cast_v of_o all_o these_o heavenly_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o abuse_v god_n benefit_n to_o devilish_a use_n there_o ear_n be_v open_a to_o hear_v wickedness_n vanity_n and_o filthiness_n their_o tongue_n loose_a to_o speak_v lie_n abomination_n and_o naughtiness_n their_o foot_n swift_a to_o shed_v innocent_a blood_n and_o all_o other_o the_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n do_v they_o horrible_o abuse_v to_o their_o utter_a condemnation_n so_o that_o they_o can_v have_v no_o just_a cause_n to_o wrangle_v against_o god_n but_o must_v needs_o acknowledge_v their_o condemnation_n to_o be_v most_o just_a have_v taste_v so_o many_o of_o god_n mercy_n and_o utter_o abuse_v they_o so_o then_o this_o their_o wrangle_a shift_n of_o god_n mercy_n will_v help_v they_o not_o a_o whit_n in_o that_o day_n of_o judgement_n but_o rather_o increase_v their_o damnation_n and_o let_v we_o that_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n here_o also_o be_v admonish_v that_o it_o will_v not_o avail_v we_o to_o allege_v god_n mercy_n for_o we_o unless_o we_o can_v also_o as_o well_o allege_v how_o his_o justice_n and_o truth_n be_v satisfy_v and_o this_o must_v now_o be_v look_v for_o while_o we_o be_v here_o god_n give_v we_o our_o life_n to_o this_o end_n we_o must_v seek_v for_o it_o more_o earnest_o a_o thousand_o fold_n then_o for_o our_o bodily_a life_n as_o you_o often_o have_v hear_v let_v we_o not_o flatter_v ourselves_o with_o these_o speech_n god_n be_v merciful_a god_n be_v merciful_a and_o therefore_o will_v forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n but_o also_o let_v we_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n be_v just_a and_o true_a and_o with_o a_o great_a number_n of_o we_o and_o a_o new_a commandment_n come_v in_o the_o room_n of_o it_o not_o from_o jesus_n christ_n but_o satan_n and_o the_o devil_n a_o new_a commandment_n that_o we_o love_v not_o one_o a_o other_o but_o every_o man_n himself_o this_o same_o new_a commandment_n of_o satan_n of_o love_v ourselves_o oh_o it_o be_v marvellous_a rife_a fresh_a and_o new_a among_o we_o but_o the_o new_a commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n of_o love_v one_o a_o other_o it_o be_v so_o stale_a and_o wear_v out_o of_o use_n among_o we_o new-fangled_a englishman_n and_o christ_n well_o thus_o you_o see_v what_o weighty_a charge_n be_v give_v of_o our_o saviour_n to_o love_v one_o a_o other_o it_o be_v no_o small_a matter_n and_o therefore_o not_o hasty_o to_o be_v put_v up_o because_o it_o be_v both_o a_o commandment_n and_o proceed_v also_o from_o he_o that_o have_v authority_n over_o all_o thing_n to_o command_v which_o have_v his_o judgement_n for_o we_o con_v it_o by_o heart_n and_o say_v by_o rote_n we_o may_v dispatch_v it_o in_o a_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n but_o alas_o good_a brethren_n because_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n school_n we_o must_v not_o only_o like_o grammar_n scholar_n have_v it_o by_o heart_n but_o like_o christ_n scholar_n have_v the_o feel_n and_o love_n of_o it_o in_o our_o heart_n not_o only_o by_o rote_n like_o child_n say_v it_o with_o our_o mouth_n but_o like_o god_n child_n practise_v it_o in_o our_o deed_n and_o herein_o good_a lord_n how_o small_o have_v we_o profit_v this_o xv_o year_n learn_v the_o practice_n of_o this_o lesson_n in_o christ_n school_n or_o if_o we_o have_v learn_v it_o how_o soon_o have_v we_o forget_v it_o or_o if_o we_o have_v both_o know_v it_o and_o thought_n upon_o it_o in_o what_o case_n
