profaner_n of_o the_o lord_n sabbath_n etc._n etc._n they_o be_v persuade_v that_o death_n will_v end_v all_o their_o misery_n ah_o poor_a soul_n it_o be_v well_o with_o they_o indeed_o if_o death_n may_v end_v their_o woeful_a misery_n but_o alas_o alas_o death_n be_v even_o as_o a_o wide_a gate_n to_o let_v they_o have_v some_o passage_n to_o endless_a woe_n and_o misery_n for_o when_o they_o be_v dead_a and_o bury_v their_o sin_n do_v not_o die_v with_o they_o their_o misery_n be_v not_o then_o end_v o_o no_o then_o begin_v their_o endless_a misery_n &_o torment_n oh_o it_o be_v good_a they_o may_v have_v no_o more_o be_v after_o death_n it_o have_v be_v good_a for_o such_o man_n they_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v or_o be_v bear_v that_o they_o have_v be_v make_v rather_o a_o toad_n or_o a_o serpent_n for_o in_o death_n they_o have_v a_o end_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o a_o filthy_a and_o and_z ungodly_a sinner_n for_o when_o he_o be_v dead_a and_o bury_v even_o than_o begin_v his_o great_a woe_n and_o misery_n for_o even_o the_o sinner_n that_o be_v dead_a a_o many_o thousand_o year_n must_v for_o all_o this_o come_v to_o judgement_n and_o therefore_o thou_o that_o live_v in_o sin_n in_o adultery_n etc._n etc._n remember_v that_o although_o thou_o die_v yet_o thy_o sin_n do_v not_o die_v with_o thou_o no_o no_o both_o thou_o and_o they_o must_v one_o day_n come_v to_o judgement_n thy_o old_a sin_n and_o those_o which_o thou_o have_v commit_v in_o secret_a they_o must_v come_v now_o to_o light_n see_v that_o the_o dead_a must_v come_v to_o judgement_n use_v that_o have_v lie_v a_o many_o hundred_o year_n in_o the_o grave_n and_o then_o their_o old_a sin_n and_o secret_a sin_n must_v come_v to_o light_v oh_o let_v we_o then_o watch_v over_o our_o life_n and_o have_v this_o still_o in_o our_o mind_n well_o though_o i_o die_v and_o rot_v in_o the_o grave_n yet_o my_o sin_n shall_v not_o die_v my_o evil_a way_n can_v be_v bury_v they_o must_v come_v to_o light_n that_o so_o we_o may_v never_o dare_v to_o sin_n think_v as_o many_o do_v that_o when_o they_o be_v once_o dead_a they_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o account_v for_o their_o sin_n but_o saint_n john_n say_v here_o that_o the_o dead_a be_v judge_v even_o those_o who_o we_o forget_v and_o who_o sin_n we_o will_v think_v will_v never_o be_v call_v to_o account_v even_o they_o must_v come_v to_o a_o reckon_n in_o the_o next_o place_n saint_n john_n tell_v we_o how_o all_o man_n shall_v be_v try_v and_o according_a to_o what_o sentence_n shall_v be_v award_v namely_o according_a to_o those_o thing_n write_v in_o their_o book_n here_o be_v the_o evidence_n here_o be_v no_o witness_n to_o be_v produce_v for_o a_o man_n conscience_n shall_v be_v even_o as_o good_a as_o a_o thousand_o witness_n now_o what_o be_v here_o mean_v by_o the_o book_n you_o have_v hear_v already_o namely_o the_o particular_a conscience_n of_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n thy_o conscience_n be_v the_o book_n that_o be_v the_o evidence_n no_o other_o witness_n shall_v be_v produce_v but_o even_o thy_o own_o conscience_n again_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v write_v in_o these_o book_n i_o tell_v you_o they_o be_v all_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o work_n not_o only_o our_o gross_a sin_n as_o murder_v etc._n etc._n but_o in_o our_o book_n be_v record_v even_o our_o idle_a and_o vain_a word_n every_o vile_a and_o filthy_a thought_n and_o by_o these_o sentence_n must_v proceed_v and_o according_a to_o these_o must_v judgement_n be_v award_v now_o then_o those_o which_o have_v good_a thought_n yea_o and_o holy_a thing_n write_v in_o their_o book_n they_o be_v bless_v and_o happy_a for_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v ashamed_a nay_o they_o shall_v be_v glad_a to_o have_v by_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o our_o book_n in_o our_o conscience_n we_o must_v be_v arraign_v and_o see_v in_o our_o book_n be_v record_v all_o that_o we_o do_v all_o our_o word_n thought_n and_o deed_n first_o it_o must_v teach_v we_o above_o all_o thing_n to_o look_v to_o our_o book_n our_o conscience_n to_o keep_v they_o very_o fair_a and_o clean_o that_o our_o book_n of_o account_n be_v in_o a_o readiness_n for_o our_o conscience_n shall_v either_o excuse_v or_o accuse_v we_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n 24._o act_n 24._o this_o be_v the_o care_n of_o the_o bless_a apostle_n saint_n paul_n act_v 24_o in_o regard_n of_o this_o that_o we_o must_v all_o come_v unto_o judgement_n and_o our_o conscience_n must_v be_v lay_v open_a and_o we_o judge_v according_a to_o the_o thing_n therein_o record_v it_o make_v this_o holy_a servant_n of_o god_n to_o take_v all_o
possible_a pain_n to_o keep_v a_o clear_a conscience_n before_o god_n and_o man_n o_o that_o we_o can_v imitate_v this_o bless_a apostle_n that_o see_v we_o must_v all_o come_v unto_o judgement_n see_v our_o book_n even_o our_o conscience_n must_v be_v open_v and_o disclose_v and_o we_o receive_v sentence_n of_o salvation_n or_o damnation_n according_a to_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o our_o book_n yea_o that_o we_o can_v labour_v and_o endeavour_n that_o no_o filthy_a sin_n may_v blot_v our_o book_n but_o that_o we_o can_v keep_v they_o clear_a and_o fair_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n it_o ought_v to_o persuade_v we_o all_o above_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n to_o look_v unto_o this_o to_o keep_v our_o book_n fair_a for_o if_o our_o conscience_n do_v accuse_v we_o god_n be_v great_a than_o our_o conscience_n and_o do_v know_v all_o thing_n second_o see_v sentence_n must_v pass_v according_a unto_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o our_o book_n and_o these_o be_v not_o only_o the_o gross_a sin_n of_o the_o world_n themselves_o but_o even_o the_o vile_a and_o unclean_a thought_n of_o our_o heart_n even_o these_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n then_o let_v we_o all_o be_v careful_a to_o avoid_v not_o only_o the_o outward_a action_n themselves_o but_o even_o these_o unclean_a thought_n of_o we_o for_o even_o they_o must_v come_v unto_o judgement_n alas_o man_n think_v thought_n be_v free_a that_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v arraign_v for_o their_o vile_a and_o ungodly_a thought_n but_o s._n paul_n say_v 2.1_o rom._n 2.1_o thought_n shall_v either_o excuse_v or_o accuse_v us._n and_o whosoever_o do_v true_o repent_v they_o do_v repent_v even_o of_o their_o vile_a and_o ungodly_a thought_n for_o if_o we_o have_v no_o other_o sin_n write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o 14.13_o revel_v 2.8_o mat._n 25.41_o reu._n 14.13_o according_a to_o that_o he_o have_v do_v whether_o it_o be_v good_a or_o evil_a we_o shall_v be_v judge_v and_o receive_v reward_n according_a to_o our_o work_n if_o thy_o work_n be_v good_a than_o life_n glory_n and_o salvation_n but_o if_o thy_o work_n be_v evil_a than_o death_n destruction_n and_o damnation_n good_a work_n although_o they_o can_v merit_v yet_o they_o will_v show_v that_o faith_n that_o lie_v in_o the_o heart_n so_o when_o a_o evil_a man_n die_v his_o evil_a work_n go_v with_o he_o his_o gall_a conscience_n will_v not_o leave_v he_o neither_o in_o life_n nor_o death_n doct._n hence_o than_o we_o see_v how_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n shall_v be_v try_v at_o this_o dreadful_a day_n even_o by_o our_o work_n either_o they_o shall_v be_v acquit_v and_o absolve_v or_o else_o condemn_v by_o their_o work_n for_o though_o no_o man_n can_v merit_v life_n and_o salvation_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n by_o his_o work_n yet_o we_o must_v know_v that_o judgement_n shall_v proceed_v at_o the_o last_o day_n according_a unto_o man_n work_n if_o thy_o work_n have_v be_v good_a holy_a just_a and_o pure_a then_o thou_o shall_v receive_v life_n happiness_n glory_n salvation_n but_o if_o thy_o work_n be_v find_v to_o be_v wicked_a unjust_a and_o ungodly_a then_o nothing_o else_o but_o death_n hell_n and_o damnation_n belong_v unto_o thou_o for_o they_o well_o what_o shall_v this_o reach_v use_v see_v we_o must_v all_o receive_v sentence_n even_o according_a to_o our_o work_n sure_o it_o ought_v to_o move_v we_o above_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n to_o labour_v to_o abound_v in_o good_a work_n to_o abound_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n in_o knowledge_n faith_n repentance_n love_n zeal_n clothing_n feed_v and_o lodging_n the_o poor_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n for_o according_a to_o our_o work_n shall_v our_o reward_n be_v and_o though_o our_o work_n can_v merit_v nothing_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o judge_n yet_o he_o be_v a_o most_o bountiful_a and_o merciful_a saviour_n he_o will_v crown_v his_o own_o work_n in_o we_o and_o reward_v they_o in_o his_o mercy_n though_o we_o merit_v nothing_o do_v thou_o relieve_v a_o poor_a member_n of_o jesus_n christ_n do_v thou_o give_v a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n to_o a_o prophet_n or_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n christ_n do_v promise_v thou_o of_o his_o truth_n he_o will_v not_o let_v thou_o loose_v thy_o reward_n true_a it_o be_v a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n be_v a_o mean_a gift_n and_o far_o from_o merit_n yet_o christ_n say_v very_o of_o my_o truth_n thou_o shall_v not_o loose_v thy_o reward_n 10._o math._n 10._o o_o how_o shall_v this_o persuade_v all_o of_o we_o to_o labour_v to_o abound_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n to_o be_v liberal_a and_o bountiful_a unto_o the_o poor_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n see_v our_o good_a work_n though_o they_o can_v merit_v yet_o they_o shall_v be_v reward_v they_o shall_v not_o be_v forget_v in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n they_o be_v sweet_a and_o bless_a companion_n when_o all_o our_o friend_n can_v do_v we_o no_o good_a they_o will_v bring_v endless_a peace_n and_o comfort_n to_o our_o soul_n again_o it_o ought_v to_o terrify_v we_o all_o from_o sin_n from_o evil_a work_n and_o ungodly_a way_n from_o swear_v drunkenness_n uncleanenes_n and_o every_o evil_a way_n for_o if_o we_o be_v full_a of_o these_o and_o these_o be_v find_v write_v in_o our_o book_n o_o then_o woe_n unto_o we_o when_o these_o book_n shall_v come_v to_o be_v open_v for_o than_o nothing_o but_o death_n hell_n and_o damnation_n belong_v unto_o us._n here_o we_o see_v that_o of_o all_o wee_a doctr._n 2_o have_v and_o enjoy_v in_o this_o world_n what_o shall_v go_v with_o we_o when_o we_o die_v what_o shall_v accompany_v thou_o in_o the_o grave_n nay_o at_o the_o terrible_a day_n of_o judgement_n our_o conscience_n our_o work_n and_o our_o book_n nothing_o else_o shall_v go_v with_o us._n when_o thou_o die_v thou_o shall_v not_o take_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n with_o thou_o but_o thy_o work_n which_o be_v engrave_v in_o the_o book_n of_o thy_o conscience_n death_n will_v bar_v all_o the_o rest_n thou_o can_v not_o take_v thy_o gold_n and_o silver_n with_o thou_o nor_o thy_o land_n or_o live_n corn_n nor_o cattle_n all_o these_o must_v stay_v behind_o thou_o at_o what_o time_n thou_o die_v only_a thy_o conscience_n thy_o book_n thy_o work_n must_v go_v with_o thou_o if_o they_o be_v good_a oh_o bless_a art_n thou_o that_o ever_o thou_o be_v bear_v if_o they_o be_v wicked_a filthy_a and_o unclean_a oh_o woe_n and_o ten_o thousand_o woe_n i_o say_v to_o thy_o soul_n for_o evermore_o o_o then_o use_v what_o wonderful_a madness_n have_v bewitch_v the_o heart_n and_o soul_n of_o almost_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o the_o world_n what_o do_v man_n desire_v what_o do_v they_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o sure_o for_o pleasure_n for_o profit_n and_o for_o preferment_n for_o these_o they_o ride_v &_o run_v night_n and_o day_n winter_n and_o summer_n by_o sea_n and_o by_o land_n for_o these_o they_o spend_v all_o their_o labour_n wit_n and_o strength_n here_o be_v all_o that_o man_n desire_v they_o care_v for_o no_o more_o no_o account_n of_o prayer_n in_o their_o house_n to_o read_v to_o hear_v and_o to_o speak_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n no_o desire_n to_o attain_v to_o knowledge_n faith_n and_o repentance_n no_o conscience_n to_o live_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n little_a or_o no_o pity_n to_o the_o needy_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n alas_o they_o never_o think_v of_o these_o thing_n but_o all_o their_o desire_n be_v for_o the_o world_n oh_o poor_a blind_a soul_n poor_a soul_n they_o know_v not_o or_o they_o will_v not_o know_v that_o they_o must_v leave_v all_o these_o behind_o they_o they_o must_v depart_v from_o
they_o all_o thou_o can_v not_o take_v one_o piece_n of_o gold_n or_o silver_n with_o thou_o but_o all_o must_v be_v leave_v behind_o only_o thy_o conscience_n only_o thy_o book_n only_o thy_o work_n must_v accompany_v thou_o o_o then_o what_o madness_n be_v this_o to_o seek_v and_o hunt_v after_o such_o thing_n as_o can_v help_v we_o nor_o stand_v we_o in_o no_o stead_n in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n nay_o if_o they_o be_v get_v or_o keep_v with_o a_o bad_a conscience_n they_o will_v be_v a_o very_a terror_n unto_o thou_o at_o the_o last_o o_o then_o let_v we_o look_v to_o ourselves_o let_v we_o not_o set_v our_o heart_n too_o much_o upon_o these_o thing_n which_o can_v profit_v we_o in_o this_o hot_a fiery_a day_n of_o trial_n why_o shall_v we_o be_v so_o foolish_a to_o set_v our_o heart_n upon_o that_o can_v help_v we_o nay_o which_o we_o must_v leave_v behind_o us._n and_o for_o faith_n that_o which_o may_v be_v our_o comfort_n both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n and_o in_o the_o dreadful_a day_n of_o judgement_n i_o mean_v a_o good_a conscience_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o bless_a and_o a_o sweet_a companion_n in_o life_n and_o death_n so_o it_o will_v be_v a_o bless_a comfort_n to_o our_o poor_a soul_n at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n o_o than_o i_o beseech_v you_o again_o and_o again_o see_v that_o nothing_o shall_v go_v with_o you_o unto_o judgement_n but_o only_o your_o work_n let_v we_o lay_v aside_o our_o immoderate_a care_n for_o the_o world_n yea_o and_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n for_o these_o must_v stay_v behind_o we_o and_o can_v help_v we_o in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n let_v we_o labour_v for_o better_a thing_n for_o durable_a treasure_n for_o a_o good_a conscience_n to_o abound_v in_o good_a work_n in_o knowledge_n faith_n and_o repentance_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n we_o be_v not_o find_v naked_a of_o these_o o_o what_o a_o woeful_a case_n be_v they_o in_o that_o have_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n to_o go_v with_o they_o to_o judgement_n but_o a_o evil_a heart_n a_o gall_a conscience_n full_a of_o all_o uncleanenes_n their_o state_n be_v most_o woeful_a and_o miserable_a it_o have_v be_v good_a for_o they_o that_o they_o have_v never_o be_v bear_v here_o may_v a_o question_n be_v move_v how_o this_o say_n of_o saint_n john_n can_v stand_v with_o that_o of_o our_o saviour_n john_n 3.18_o he_o that_o believe_v shall_v not_o come_v into_o judgement_n but_o he_o that_o believe_v not_o be_v condemn_v already_o now_o then_o if_o the_o faithful_a child_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o come_v into_o judgement_n and_o the_o wicked_a unbeliever_n be_v condemn_v already_o how_o say_v he_o that_o all_o shall_v be_v judge_v at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n i_o answer_v it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o faithful_a child_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o come_v into_o judgement_n that_o be_v of_o condemnation_n 8.1_o rom._n 8.1_o for_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n etc._n etc._n but_o god_n will_v good_a and_o bad_a that_o so_o we_o may_v leave_v the_o one_o and_o do_v the_o other_o oh_o what_o a_o woeful_a case_n be_v all_o they_o in_o which_o be_v ignorant_a in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n blind_a man_n and_o woman_n without_o knowledge_n they_o know_v not_o what_o be_v good_a or_o evil_n and_o therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n paul_n 2._o thess_n 1._o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n will_v come_v in_o a_o flame_n of_o fire_n to_o render_v vengeance_n to_o they_o which_o know_v he_o not_o and_o obey_v not_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o therefore_o as_o you_o do_v love_v your_o soul_n love_v this_o word_n of_o god_n labour_v to_o know_v it_o embrace_v it_o if_o thou_o be_v ignorant_a of_o it_o and_o yield_v not_o obedience_n unto_o it_o it_o shall_v stand_v against_o shall_v rise_v again_o man_n that_o have_v be_v drown_v fish_n have_v eat_v they_o &_o man_n again_o perhaps_o have_v eat_v the_o fish_n and_o they_o that_o have_v be_v burn_v to_o ash_n their_o ash_n have_v be_v scatter_v who_o know_v whither_o how_o then_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o they_o to_o arise_v again_o indeed_o the_o profane_a atheist_n and_o filthy_a epicure_n be_v not_o ashamed_a â—o_o say_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o resurrection_n but_o when_o a_o man_n die_v there_o be_v a_o end_n of_o all_o his_o joy_n and_o of_o all_o his_o misery_n but_o that_o the_o dead_a shall_v rise_v again_o be_v a_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n we_o believe_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o so_o we_o know_v it_o be_v a_o special_a point_n of_o god_n glory_n in_o mercy_n to_o reward_v his_o poor_a child_n and_o in_o punish_v in_o judgement_n the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a but_o as_o solomon_n say_v in_o this_o life_n all_o thing_n happen_v alike_o to_o the_o just_a and_o sever_v one_o matter_n from_o another_o so_o then_o this_o place_n do_v prove_v and_o confirm_v that_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n that_o we_o believe_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a for_o own_o executioner_n to_o end_v his_o misery_n and_o to_o end_v his_o shame_n by_o hang_v himself_o cut_v his_o own_o throat_n drown_v himself_o etc._n etc._n and_o we_o know_v and_o hear_v that_o he_o prevail_v much_o by_o these_o mean_n in_o these_o day_n some_o be_v in_o disgrace_n as_o achitophel_n some_o with_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o conscience_n as_o judas_n and_o some_o be_v cross_v with_o wife_n and_o child_n cut_v their_o throat_n or_o otherwise_o make_v a_o end_n of_o themselves_o now_o they_o foolish_o think_v by_o this_o mean_n to_o end_v their_o grief_n alas_o flame_a fire_n so_o they_o to_o avoid_v this_o little_a grief_n of_o their_o body_n plunge_v body_n and_o soul_n into_o eternal_a torment_n for_o what_o ease_n be_v it_o for_o a_o man_n to_o kill_v himself_o or_o cast_v away_o himself_o see_v they_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n though_o they_o kill_v themselves_o or_o drown_v themselves_o why_o the_o water_n and_o the_o grave_n must_v one_o o_o then_o see_v we_o must_v all_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o we_o can_v but_o come_v forth_o of_o our_o grave_n unto_o judgement_n oh_o let_v we_o now_o obey_v his_o voice_n in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n now_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n and_o the_o voice_n of_o his_o minister_n if_o we_o will_v not_o now_o leave_v sin_n hear_v christ_n jesus_n speak_v unto_o we_o in_o his_o word_n and_o embrace_v his_o gospel_n then_o let_v we_o well_o know_v that_o we_o shall_v one_o day_n hear_v another_o voice_n when_o we_o shall_v be_v compel_v to_o come_v before_o he_o to_o be_v condemn_v thus_o you_o may_v see_v that_o all_o the_o dead_a must_v arise_v and_o come_v to_o judgement_n and_o you_o see_v how_o and_o by_o first_o see_v of_o what_o death_n soever_o man_n shall_v die_v either_o by_o fire_n or_o water_n or_o howsoever_o they_o must_v one_o day_n come_v to_o judgement_n let_v we_o then_o beware_v of_o that_o ungodly_a thought_n and_o devilish_a persuasion_n that_o run_v in_o most_o man_n mind_n namely_o that_o think_v that_o when_o they_o die_v there_o be_v a_o end_n of_o all_o their_o misery_n end_v thy_o misery_n that_o it_o be_v a_o broad_a gate_n to_o let_v thou_o in_o into_o it_o 16._o luke_n 16._o for_o so_o soon_o as_o the_o glutton_n die_v he_o be_v present_o in_o hell_n in_o
