because_o he_o be_v god_n as_o well_o as_o man_n so_o that_o we_o be_v not_o to_o consider_v those_o work_n he_o do_v as_o of_o a_o mere_a man_n value_n though_o never_o so_o holy_a but_o as_o one_o of_o a_o divine_a nature_n 2._o they_o be_v mediatory_a work_n all_o that_o he_o do_v and_o suffer_v tend_v to_o a_o propitiation_n and_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n mediatory_a so_o that_o as_o to_o make_v thou_o wise_a to_o salvation_n through_o faith_n so_o that_o as_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o essential_a word_n of_o god_n dwell_v in_o our_o heart_n by_o faith_n thus_o the_o scripture_n first_o though_o man_n be_v never_o so_o expert_a and_o diligent_a in_o the_o scripture_n yet_o if_o god_n bless_v they_o not_o with_o a_o see_v eye_n and_o a_o spiritual_a understanding_n in_o and_o thus_o the_o arminian_n only_o they_o acknowledge_v holiness_n of_o life_n and_o obedience_n to_o god_n to_o be_v thus_o a_o condition_n foresee_v as_o well_o as_o faith_n though_o they_o will_v seem_v utter_o to_o deny_v it_o 4._o there_o be_v the_o lutheran_n and_o they_o indeed_o hold_v faith_n fore-seen_a as_o a_o condition_n in_o our_o election_n only_o they_o say_v it_o be_v not_o consider_v as_o a_o merit_n or_o a_o cause_n no_o nor_o as_o a_o work_n but_o as_o a_o instrument_n apprehend_v christ_n merit_n and_o therefore_o make_v election_n to_o be_v by_o faith_n in_o the_o same_o sense_n as_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n hence_o they_o deny_v holiness_n or_o obedience_n to_o be_v a_o condition_n ingredient_n to_o election_n because_o christ_n be_v not_o lay_v hold_v upon_o by_o that_o as_o by_o faith_n although_o herein_o they_o contradict_v themselves_o because_o they_o acknowledge_v not_o faith_n single_o as_o so_o but_o perseverance_n in_o faith_n to_o be_v the_o condition_n and_o that_o must_v be_v necessary_o look_v upon_o as_o a_o work_n not_o as_o a_o instrument_n receive_v christ_n but_o the_o orthodox_n they_o affirm_v consonant_o to_o scripture_n and_o suitable_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n grace_n that_o god_n do_v from_o all_o eternity_n choose_v some_o man_n out_o of_o that_o corrupt_a mass_n in_o which_o all_o be_v to_o eternal_a glory_n and_o by_o the_o same_o act_n do_v prepare_v and_o appoint_v all_o those_o mean_n which_o will_v effectual_o produce_v the_o same_o so_o that_o this_o election_n be_v the_o original_a and_o fountain_n of_o all_o spiritual_a mercy_n because_o elect_v christ_n be_v appoint_v a_o mediator_n because_o elect_v they_o be_v call_v and_o enable_v to_o believe_v in_o time_n so_o that_o we_o deny_v there_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n oh_o then_o let_v the_o gracious_a man_n take_v heed_n of_o any_o proud_a rise_n or_o stir_n of_o heart_n of_o any_o proud_a opinion_n or_o doctrine_n which_o may_v secret_o fermentate_n he_o herein_o four_o neither_o be_v the_o connexion_n between_o grace_n and_o glory_n causal_n in_o a_o physical_a and_o natural_a way_n as_o the_o fire_n burn_v or_o as_o the_o a_o sure_a evidence_n that_o he_o will_v never_o destroy_v the_o world_n more_o and_o then_o grace_n be_v a_o antecedent_n to_o glory_n because_o grace_n be_v a_o ordinable_a mean_n to_o glory_n without_o holiness_n no_o man_n shall_v see_v god_n heb._n 12.14_o sin_n can_v in_o its_o nature_n be_v appoint_v the_o way_n to_o happiness_n therefore_o the_o ancient_a say_n be_v that_o it_o be_v plead_v this_o as_o well_o as_o the_o strong_a the_o low_a believer_n may_v say_v i_o have_v as_o good_a and_o as_o faithful_a a_o promise_n as_o the_o strong_a even_o a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n give_v to_o a_o prophet_n upon_o right_a ground_n shall_v have_v a_o everlasting_a kingdom_n and_o therefore_o that_o can_v be_v for_o any_o worth_n or_o dignity_n in_o the_o good_a duty_n perform_v
