and_o seriousness_n of_o spirit_n for_o then_o indeed_o it_o be_v a_o weighty_a and_o near_o affect_v thing_n that_o the_o soul_n be_v go_v about_o when_o she_o be_v a_o go_v away_o into_o life_n eternal_a or_o into_o everlasting_a punishment_n when_o she_o have_v but_o one_o cast_n or_o throw_v which_o be_v to_o make_v the_o final_a and_o everlasting_a decision_n for_o endless_a happiness_n or_o misery_n we_o see_v by_o poor_a malefactor_n when_o they_o come_v to_o receive_v the_o due_a reward_n of_o their_o deed_n what_o a_o cry_n and_o howl_v will_v they_o make_v at_o the_o place_n of_o execution_n and_o this_o they_o do_v not_o so_o much_o for_o the_o pain_n which_o they_o shall_v undergo_v in_o be_v cut_v off_o hasty_o and_o violent_o from_o this_o land_n of_o the_o live_n but_o out_o of_o a_o fearful_a expectation_n of_o yet_o great_a misery_n to_o come_v but_o hezekiahs_n weep_v sore_o or_o great_a weep_v be_v not_o for_o this_o reason_n for_o his_o life_n be_v true_a perfect_a and_o good_a so_o that_o after_o he_o none_o be_v like_a unto_o he_o among_o all_o the_o king_n of_o judah_n and_o god_n that_o can_v lie_v have_v now_o under_o the_o gospel_n promise_v eternal_a life_n to_o the_o patient_a continuance_n in_o well_o do_v rom._n 2._o 7._o but_o probable_o hezekiah_n do_v not_o know_v of_o this_o as_o the_o saint_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n of_o latter_a age_n do_v and_o then_o like_o one_o who_o be_v turn_v and_o dispossess_v out_o of_o a_o cottage_n may_v at_o first_o take_v it_o in_o indignation_n and_o vexation_n when_o he_o then_o know_v not_o that_o it_o be_v in_o order_n to_o be_v remove_v into_o a_o palace_n or_o â—â—ner_n house_n as_o he_o afterward_o find_v it_o so_o hezekiah_n than_o not_o know_v that_o if_o he_o shall_v be_v take_v out_o of_o his_o earthly_a palace_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v receive_v up_o into_o heaven_n the_o city_n of_o the_o great_a king_n which_o will_v be_v much_o better_a he_o may_v probable_o think_v it_o irksome_a and_o a_o loss_n to_o be_v take_v from_o the_o other_o that_o hezekiah_n be_v partly_o ignorant_a of_o thus_o much_o appear_v from_o his_o own_o word_n in_o the_o follow_a part_n of_o this_o chapter_n for_o the_o grave_n can_v praise_v thou_o death_n can_v celebrate_v thou_o they_o that_o go_v down_o to_o the_o pit_n can_v hope_v for_o thy_o truth_n this_o last_o he_o speak_v as_o one_o under_o that_o dispensation_n from_o the_o mount_n sinah_n which_o gender_v bondage_n gal._n 4._o 24._o and_o so_o this_o his_o distrust_n and_o ignorance_n do_v gender_n tear_n and_o weep_v in_o he_o but_o by_o your_o leave_n good_a hezekiah_n we_o under_o the_o gospel_n can_v contradict_v the_o latter_a part_n of_o your_o say_n for_o from_o thence_o we_o do_v believe_v yea_o we_o know_v and_o be_v assure_v that_o they_o which_o go_v down_o to_o the_o pit_n can_v and_o do_v hope_n for_o god_n truth_n and_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v write_v in_o the_o old_a testament_n for_o in_o death_n there_o be_v no_o remembrance_n of_o thou_o yet_o now_o christ_n have_v abolish_v death_n and_o bring_v life_n and_o immortality_n to_o light_n through_o the_o gospel_n we_o can_v true_o contradict_v that_o say_n also_o for_o in_o death_n there_o 〈◊〉_d most_o remembrance_n of_o god_n for_o the_o remembraneâ—_n which_o we_o have_v of_o god_n in_o this_o life_n be_v much_o less_o and_o as_o 〈◊〉_d remembrance_n in_o comparison_n of_o what_o remembrance_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v have_v in_o and_o after_o our_o several_a death_n anâ—_n we_o now_o can_v give_v a_o plain_a and_o satisfactory_a answer_n in_o thâ—_n affirmative_a although_o by_o its_o be_v ask_v so_o short_a it_o seem_v to_o imply_v a_o strong_a negation_n for_o we_o know_v that_o god_n will_v show_v wonder_n to_o the_o dead_a as_o that_o will_v be_v a_o wonderful_a thing_n indeed_o to_o fullfil_v in_o a_o literal_a sense_n in_o the_o last_o day_n what_o be_v write_v in_o ezek._n 37._o 6_o 7_o 8_o 9_o 10._o and_o thâ—_n dead_a will_v arise_v and_o praise_v god_n psal_n 88_o 10._o and_o ouâ—_n flesh_n also_o shall_v rest_v in_o hope_n for_o it_o shall_v be_v raise_v up_o anâ—_n render_v entire_a flesh_n again_o notwithstanding_o it_o will_v foâ—_n some_o time_n be_v leave_v in_o the_o grave_a and_o see_v corruption_n as_o thâ—_n holy_a one_o of_o god_n do_v not_o when_o jesus_n christ_n shalâ—_n change_v our_o vile_a body_n that_o it_o may_v be_v fashion_v like_o unto_o his_o glorious_a body_n according_a to_o his_o work_n whereby_o he_o be_v able_a even_o to_o subdue_v graceless_a person_n for_o the_o first_o can_v beaâ—_n or_o away_o with_o the_o thought_n of_o be_v without_o god_n botâ—_n in_o this_o life_n and_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v nothing_o less_o a_o alien_n from_o the_o common_a wealth_n of_o israel_n and_o without_o god_n in_o the_o world_n for_o he_o make_v it_o his_o own_o wretched_a and_o wilful_a choice_n to_o be_v so_o and_o herein_o though_o he_o be_v make_v in_o honour_n capable_a to_o know_v god_n to_o serve_v he_o and_o enjoy_v he_o hereafter_o yet_o by_o not_o understand_v and_o do_v thereafter_o he_o do_v become_v like_o the_o beast_n that_o perish_v so_o such_o a_o one_o will_v desire_v with_o all_o his_o heart_n to_o be_v without_o god_n in_o the_o other_o world_n also_o for_o he_o fear_v and_o apprehend_v and_o expect_v no_o good_a from_o he_o but_o evil_a for_o in_o the_o other_o world_n he_o will_v be_v either_o the_o god_n of_o mercy_n or_o the_o lord_n to_o who_o vengeance_n belong_v he_o will_v be_v so_o one_o of_o these_o two_o way_n unto_o all_o the_o reasonable_a inhabitant_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o who_o will_v not_o fear_v he_o in_o this_o world_n shall_v feel_v he_o in_o the_o next_o strange_a imagination_n do_v sinner_n conceive_v in_o their_o mind_n that_o they_o may_v not_o receive_v in_o themselves_o a_o recompense_n meet_v for_o their_o evil_a deed_n which_o yet_o be_v all_o to_o no_o purpose_n avail_n or_o behoof_n as_o any_o other_o way_n to_o possible_o avoid_v the_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n of_o god_n against_o they_o they_o have_v better_o agree_v with_o their_o common_o get_v by_o unrighteous_a mean_n viz._n by_o such_o mean_n as_o be_v contrary_a unto_o or_o different_a from_o that_o great_a and_o complete_a rule_n of_o righteousness_n in_o scripture_n psal_n 102._o 18._o six_o several_a sermon_n or_o discourse_n on_o the_o forego_n verse_n now_o the_o order_n method_n and_o course_n of_o our_o ministry_n require_v to_o speak_v some_o thing_n from_o the_o word_n abovementioned_a in_o the_o shut_n up_o and_o conclusion_n of_o that_o book_n it_o be_v say_v that_o all_o the_o sermon_n and_o preach_v in_o the_o world_n if_o they_o be_v right_o and_o true_o manage_v be_v all_o to_o the_o very_a same_o end_n and_o purpose_n to_o instruct_v and_o exhort_v we_o to_o set_v our_o soul_n in_o order_n for_o we_o shall_v die_v or_o that_o they_o may_v be_v set_v in_o order_n which_o be_v explain_v to_o be_v in_o a_o readiness_n and_o that_o nothing_o be_v want_v in_o they_o against_o the_o time_n they_o shall_v go_v out_o of_o these_o body_n we_o do_v hence_o see_v what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v then_o when_o that_o time_n come_v so_o that_o by_o those_o word_n we_o be_v instruct_v how_o to_o die_v or_o how_o to_o behave_v fit_a and_o prepare_v ourselves_o a_o little_a before_o and_o as_o we_o come_v to_o die_v but_o now_o in_o the_o word_n which_o i_o have_v here_o choose_v for_o my_o text_n we_o be_v teach_v what_o we_o must_v do_v throughout_o all_o our_o life_n so_o that_o in_o the_o three_o first_o verse_n of_o this_o excellent_a chapter_n we_o be_v inform_v and_o direct_v how_o to_o live_v and_o how_o to_o die_v what_o we_o must_v do_v in_o our_o life_n time_n and_o what_o in_o the_o day_n of_o sickness_n and_o of_o death_n and_o what_o will_v man_n have_v more_o in_o order_n to_o his_o salvation_n security_n and_o happiness_n then_o to_o know_v how_o to_o live_v and_o how_o to_o die_v true_o there_o can_v be_v more_o desire_v than_o these_o two_o thing_n for_o herein_o be_v comprise_v the_o whole_a state_n of_o his_o duration_n both_o in_o this_o world_n and_o also_o in_o his_o passage_n into_o the_o next_o for_o inasmuch_o as_o the_o spirit_n say_v bless_a be_v the_o dead_a that_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n rev._n 14._o 13._o we_o may_v assure_o gather_v that_o they_o who_o live_v well_o as_o such_o do_v who_o live_v unto_o the_o lord_n will_v also_o die_v well_o and_o will_v die_v in_o the_o lord_n again_o they_o that_o die_v well_o or_o who_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n will_v be_v bless_v for_o evermore_o even_o so_o as_o to_o receive_v partake_v of_o and_o inherit_v that_o blessing_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v command_v even_o life_n for_o evermore_o psal_n 133._o 3._o when_o i_o first_o enter_v upon_o my_o ministry_n i_o promise_v unto_o my_o hearer_n that_o i_o

and_o alm_n to_o feed_v and_o enrich_v themselves_o for_o they_o have_v fallacious_o reason_v and_o persuade_v the_o people_n that_o what_o be_v give_v unto_o they_o this_o way_n be_v make_v a_o search_v diligent_o out_o of_o the_o scripture_n of_o truth_n that_o such_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n who_o think_v so_o and_o will_v venture_v and_o run_v the_o risk_a to_o act_n according_o it_o be_v better_a that_o a_o millstone_n be_v tie_v about_o his_o neck_n and_o that_o he_o be_v throw_v into_o the_o sea_n for_o this_o will_v only_o sink_v he_o into_o temporal_a death_n and_o destruction_n but_o the_o other_o deceit_n if_o trust_v and_o rely_v on_o will_v involve_v they_o into_o everlasting_a destruction_n from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o power_n such_o will_v never_o enter_v into_o that_o rest_n which_o remain_v for_o the_o people_n of_o god_n inasmuch_o as_o they_o be_v never_o his_o people_n who_o do_v not_o serve_v and_o obey_v he_o in_o the_o most_o nor_o yet_o in_o the_o best_a part_n of_o their_o life_n time_n although_o some_o yea_o too_o many_o of_o that_o kind_n of_o outward_a worldly_a priesthood_n now_o among_o we_o who_o heal_v the_o hurt_n of_o the_o daughter_n of_o my_o people_n slight_o cry_v peace_n peace_n when_o there_o be_v no_o peace_n will_v also_o huddle_n up_o the_o matter_n after_o their_o rate_n when_o be_v fulfil_v i_o hear_v once_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o dissent_v sort_n whâ—_n common_o be_v more_o faithful_a herein_o then_o those_o of_o thâ—_n church_n ministry_n say_v that_o several_a people_n who_o have_v live_v ungodly_a and_o ignorant_a life_n will_v send_v for_o he_o wheâ—_n they_o lie_v upon_o their_o death_n bed_n and_o if_o they_o be_v of_o thâ—_n substantial_a and_o rich_a deed_n what_o a_o short_a slight_v and_o vexation_n kind_a of_o answer_n do_v he_o receive_v from_o they_o what_o be_v that_o to_o we_o see_v thou_o to_o that_o and_o so_o it_o will_v be_v as_o to_o all_o the_o sin_n that_o we_o have_v commit_v or_o as_o to_o the_o good_a which_o we_o have_v omit_v upon_o the_o account_n of_o and_o to_o please_v other_o why_o this_o will_v be_v the_o result_n and_o consequent_a thereof_o as_o from_o they_o when_o we_o come_v to_o be_v punish_v and_o lose_v so_o much_o for_o the_o same_o in_o the_o future_a distribution_n of_o thing_n if_o we_o come_v to_o ask_v for_o help_n comfort_n or_o that_o they_o shall_v make_v it_o up_o unto_o we_o they_o will_v in_o like_a manner_n answer_v what_o be_v that_o to_o we_o see_v thou_o to_o that_o whereas_o those_o thirty_o piece_n of_o silver_n but_o that_o repentance_n and_o anguish_n of_o mind_n afterward_o which_o occasion_v he_o to_o hang_v himself_o if_o he_o can_v have_v have_v the_o first_o without_o the_o last_o this_o he_o will_v have_v like_v well_o enough_o and_o so_o the_o chief_a priest_n and_o elder_n think_v it_o expedient_a to_o puâ—_n christ_n to_o death_n but_o thereupon_o to_o contract_v the_o deep_a dyâ—_n and_o gild_n of_o murder_n to_o fall_v thereupon_o under_o the_o wrath_n and_o displeasure_n of_o almighty_a god_n and_o what_o they_o false_o furnise_v that_o if_o they_o have_v not_o do_v it_o the_o roman_n will_v have_v come_v and_o take_v away_o their_o place_n and_o nation_n but_o by_o their_o do_v of_o it_o they_o take_v the_o effectual_a and_o ready_a he_o have_v commit_v incest_n and_o folly_n with_o she_o and_o as_o the_o ten_o horn_n which_o thou_o see_v shall_v hate_v the_o whore_n so_o it_o be_v usual_a for_o sinner_n upon_o their_o death_n bed_n to_o hate_v their_o whore_n their_o drunken_a companion_n and_o such_o like_a with_o who_o they_o have_v be_v partaker_n in_o any_o sin_n or_o iniquity_n for_o the_o gild_n thereof_o do_v then_o more_o appear_v forth_o and_o they_o be_v go_v away_o to_o receive_v for_o their_o evil_a deed_n the_o foreknowledge_n whereof_o do_v raise_v this_o evil_a affection_n of_o hatred_n dislike_n and_o ignorant_a people_n of_o the_o world_n the_o former_a part_n so_o live_v as_o think_v and_o know_v before_o hand_n that_o they_o must_v be_v judge_v and_o therefore_o they_o be_v for_o prepare_v and_o make_v up_o their_o account_n before_o hand_n they_o be_v for_o do_v all_o thing_n that_o they_o may_v stand_v in_o that_o day_n and_o they_o do_v entreat_v their_o judge_n in_o the_o mean_a while_n for_o his_o favour_n acceptation_n and_o reconciliation_n and_o acquital_n against_o the_o great_a day_n of_o everlasting_a decision_n but_o the_o wicked_a ungodly_a and_o ignorant_a do_v live_v at_o random_n and_o in_o forgetfulness_n or_o unmindfullness_n of_o the_o future_a judgement_n they_o be_v resolve_v on_o their_o way_n i_o have_v love_v stranger_n and_o after_o they_o i_o will_v go_v they_o do_v thing_n at_o a_o venture_n and_o they_o run_v the_o risk_a of_o the_o future_a judgement_n and_o so_o they_o be_v in_o danger_n to_o be_v break_v snare_v and_o take_v to_o fall_v and_o be_v condemn_v in_o that_o day_n in_o a_o word_n let_v people_n do_v whatever_o they_o will_v in_o the_o mean_a time_n yet_o the_o great_a day_n of_o judgement_n will_v sure_o come_v and_o will_v not_o tarry_v one_o moment_n long_o beyond_o the_o appoint_v time_n this_o we_o be_v now_o warn_v of_o again_o before_o hand_n that_o when_o it_o shall_v come_v we_o may_v have_v the_o less_o excuse_n or_o plea_n that_o of_o this_o and_o of_o every_o day_n of_o our_o life_n after_o year_n of_o discretion_n we_o be_v not_o only_o in_o danger_n but_o we_o shall_v be_v certain_o call_v to_o a_o serious_a and_o through_o apprehension_n thereof_o but_o when_o indeed_o it_o shall_v stand_v before_o we_o like_o a_o armeâ—_n man_n or_o messenger_n and_o say_v to_o the_o soul_n come_v along_o with_o i_o than_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n to_o refrain_v our_o voice_n from_o weep_v and_o our_o eye_n from_o tear_n for_o that_o our_o work_n shalâ—_n be_v judge_v and_o we_o be_v go_v away_o from_o the_o land_n when_o we_o have_v if_o not_o all_o yet_o most_o thing_n comfortable_a and_o convenient_a for_o we_o thoâ—_n none_o true_o satisfactory_a unto_o we_o aâ—_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o prosperity_n we_o do_v not_o know_v throughâ—_n what_o adversity_n be_v and_o as_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o fullness_n we_o can_v then_o so_o well_o feel_v what_o pinch_a hunger_n be_v even_o sâ—_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o life_n though_o we_o be_v in_o death_n that_o be_v subject_n unto_o and_o draw_v towards_o death_n yet_o than_o we_o know_v not_o thorough_o what_o death_n be_v the_o ruffle_a roister_n 〈◊〉_d the_o jolly_a merry_a man_n of_o the_o world_n may_v cast_v a_o contemptuous_a smile_n or_o pish_n at_o the_o hear_n of_o death_n when_o it_o 〈◊〉_d afar_o off_o from_o he_o but_o when_o it_o shall_v approach_v nigh_o anâ—_n touch_v he_o when_o he_o shall_v be_v death_n strike_v and_o the_o shadow_n of_o death_n shall_v sit_v upon_o his_o eyelid_n than_o his_o force_n smile_v or_o proud_a scorn_n and_o disdain_n will_v be_v turn_v into_o weep_v and_o real_a inward_a sorrow_n if_o people_n will_v be_v ever_o serious_a they_o will_v be_v so_o when_o they_o come_v to_o lie_v cry_v out_o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o this_o body_n of_o death_n so_o this_o or_o the_o like_a exclamation_n may_v be_v take_v up_o o_o the_o exceed_a evil_a and_o gild_n of_o sin_n who_o shall_v deliver_v the_o sinner_n from_o all_o the_o evil_n that_o be_v due_a unto_o he_o for_o it_o 〈◊〉_d none_o but_o jesus_n which_o deliver_v we_o from_o the_o sleep_v for_o evermore_o and_o not_o praise_n god_n throughout_o all_o eternity_n they_o have_v no_o miss_n of_o that_o because_o they_o take_v no_o delight_n therein_o as_o indeed_o praise_n be_v
