desire_n may_v fit_o be_v resemble_v to_o two_o water_n whereof_o the_o one_o be_v muddy_a bubble_a and_o full_a of_o murmur_n yet_o but_o shallow_a the_o other_o clear_a smooth_a and_o still_o yet_o extreme_a deep_a therefore_o this_o boil_a of_o the_o desire_v though_o good_a in_o the_o beginginning_n be_v here_o to_o be_v reject_v not_o that_o good_a desire_n be_v to_o be_v refuse_v but_o their_o imperfection_n not_o that_o we_o shall_v forsake_v they_o but_o perfect_v they_o nor_o yet_o lose_v they_o but_o refine_v and_o fulfil_v they_o in_o god_n for_o as_o seed_n be_v not_o lose_v because_o cast_v in_o his_o place_n but_o change_v and_o multiply_v as_o we_o see_v in_o a_o grain_n of_o corn_n that_o it_o perish_v not_o tho_o throw_v into_o the_o ground_n but_o be_v change_v and_o increase_v so_o neither_o do_v good_a desire_n perish_v when_o they_o be_v terminate_v in_o god_n but_o be_v purify_v multiply_v and_o perfect_v and_o as_o the_o grain_n of_o corn_n unless_o it_o first_o corrupt_v and_o die_v bring_v not_o forth_o increase_v so_o neither_o do_v good_a desire_v ever_o take_v their_o effect_n i._o union_n and_o transformation_n unless_o they_o first_o be_v exhaust_v or_o fall_v sound_a asleep_a in_o god_n whence_o be_v that_o say_n of_o our_o saviour_n except_o a_o grain_n of_o corn_n fall_v into_o the_o earth_n die_v it_o bring_v no_o fruit_n but_o if_o it_o die_v it_o bring_v much_o fruit_n as_o also_o at_o first_o the_o graive_n be_v needful_a so_o in_o the_o end_n it_o must_v needs_o corrupt_v that_o wheat_n may_v grow_v up_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o good_a desire_n and_o their_o annihillation_n that_o they_o may_v obtain_v their_o union_n with_o god_n but_o as_o in_o this_o corruption_n the_o grain_n be_v improper_o say_v to_o be_v corrupt_v but_o rather_o to_o be_v alter_v or_o change_v into_o corn_n so_o also_o we_o say_v improper_o that_o these_o good_a desire_n be_v nothing_o but_o rather_o change_v and_o transform_v into_o union_n howbeit_o as_o the_o grain_n be_v never_o at_o length_n return_v the_o same_o but_o remain_v for_o ever_o transform_v or_o alter_v into_o corn_n as_o into_o his_o effect_n and_o last_o end_n and_o perfection_n so_o neither_o be_v these_o good_a desire_n ever_o after_o to_o be_v begin_v again_o but_o to_o persevere_v transform_v into_o union_n as_o into_o their_o effect_n and_o crown_n of_o completeness_n last_o as_o the_o grain_n be_v not_o to_o be_v cast_v in_o every_o earth_n nor_o at_o all_o time_n but_o very_o careful_o both_o commodiousness_n of_o place_n and_o opportunity_n of_o season_n be_v to_o be_v observe_v in_o like_a manner_n good_a desire_n be_v not_o every_o where_o to_o be_v annihilate_v but_o in_o god_n alone_o nor_o yet_o in_o every_o exercise_n but_o only_o in_o that_o of_o the_o union_n nor_o yet_o sudden_o in_o the_o beginning_n but_o in_o the_o time_n allot_v for_o that_o purpose_n which_o be_v even_o after_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o active_a life_n well_o draw_v into_o practice_n be_v accomplish_v where_o plain_o appear_v how_o much_o they_o be_v blind_v that_o think_v they_o must_v always_o be_v do_v and_o never_o rest_n from_o such_o fervent_a act_n &_o yearning_n and_o much_o more_o they_o that_o in_o such_o manner_n of_o work_v imagine_v the_o true_a union_n to_o be_v place_v and_o condemn_v the_o contrary_a for_o faulty_a and_o stillness_n for_o nothing_o worth_a which_o be_v flat_a contrary_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o dionysius_n before_o cite_v chap._n 2._o who_o also_o say_v in_o another_o place_n that_o our_o coelestial_o warm_v inflame_a and_o burn_v the_o soul_n and_o that_o so_o secret_o simple_o &_o inward_o that_o it_o raise_v no_o motion_n to_o buckle_v this_o calm_a in_o the_o soul_n but_o rather_o she_o be_v so_o secret_o lead_v and_o so_o sweet_o comprehend_v that_o she_o dissolve_v and_o vanish_v still_o more_o and_o more_o to_o the_o further_a increase_n of_o this_o calm_a and_o stillness_n this_o wildernized_a solitariness_n o●_n this_o nothing_o be_v that_o whereof_o the_o bridegroom_n speak_v i_o will_v lead_v she_o into_o the_o desert_n and_o there_o i_o wi●_n speak_v to_o her_o viii_o that_o this_o mean_a be_v no_o other_o but_o the_o divine_a will_n manifest_v in_o annihilation_n which_o consist_v in_o two_o point_n knowledge_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o first_o point_n the_o second_o mean_n be_v more_o remote_a from_o sense_n then_o the_o other_o and_o more_o supernatural_a naked_a and_o perfect_a for_o whereas_o the_o other_o work_v so_o naked_o and_o above_o nature_n only_o or_o at_o least_o chief_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v take_v up_o without_o herself_o by_o force_n of_o the_o actual_a pull_n of_o the_o divine_a will_n this_o work_n also_o when_o that_o
