the_o covenant_n itself_o be_v ratify_v and_o confirm_v by_o my_o blood_n now_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n there_o be_v many_o great_a thing_n promise_v in_o it_o the_o lord_n promise_v to_o forgive_v the_o sin_n of_o his_o people_n he_o promise_v that_o he_o will_v put_v his_o law_n in_o their_o mind_n and_o write_v it_o in_o their_o heart_n he_o promise_v that_o he_o will_v give_v his_o some_o ray_n of_o his_o divinity_n let_v forth_o in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o suffering_n that_o the_o veil_n of_o the_o temple_n be_v rend_v from_o the_o top_n to_o the_o bottom_n that_o the_o rock_n cleave_v in_o sunder_o that_o the_o sun_n be_v darken_v and_o the_o grave_n be_v open_v and_o the_o body_n of_o the_o dead_a saint_n arise_v such_o prodigious_a thing_n as_o these_o be_v manifest_a token_n that_o the_o person_n that_o suffer_v be_v more_o than_o a_o ordinary_a person_n therefore_o the_o centurion_n and_o those_o that_o be_v with_o he_o say_v true_o this_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o yet_o these_o thing_n have_v not_o such_o a_o influence_n upon_o the_o generality_n of_o man_n but_o that_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n be_v to_o the_o jew_n a_o stumbling-block_n and_o to_o the_o greek_n foolishness_n the_o world_n have_v not_o be_v able_a to_o bear_v the_o doctrine_n of_o a_o crucify_a saviour_n and_o as_o luther_n have_v observe_v there_o be_v no_o doctrine_n of_o faith_n that_o the_o world_n be_v so_o offend_v at_o as_o this_o that_o whereas_o the_o wisdom_n and_o love_n of_o god_n have_v be_v lay_v out_o to_o the_o uttermost_a in_o this_o way_n namely_o to_o save_v man_n by_o the_o death_n of_o his_o son_n this_o have_v be_v the_o great_a offence_n to_o the_o world_n such_o be_v the_o pride_n and_o ignorance_n of_o man_n that_o they_o can_v think_v of_o be_v save_v by_o one_o that_o be_v crucify_v but_o what_o do_v the_o apostle_n say_v the_o foolishness_n of_o god_n be_v wise_a than_o man_n and_o the_o weakness_n of_o god_n be_v strong_a than_o man_n christ_n crucify_v be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n 1_o cor._n 1.20_o 24._o whatever_o the_o world_n think_v of_o it_o this_o be_v the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o the_o will_v expose_v he_o to_o the_o disesteem_a of_o man_n and_o minister_v a_o occasion_n to_o they_o to_o think_v the_o more_o contemptuous_o of_o he_o than_o ever_o they_o will_v have_v do_v have_v he_o not_o stoop_v so_o low_a to_o do_v and_o suffer_v such_o thing_n as_o he_o do_v for_o their_o sake_n behold_v use_v how_o great_a the_o price_n of_o our_o redemption_n be_v the_o word_n the_o
