merit_v salvation_n of_o god_n and_o this_o charity_n they_o teach_v so_o to_o depend_v upon_o freewill_n as_o thereby_o they_o exalt_v the_o nature_n of_o man_n conceal_v his_o fall_n and_o make_v the_o decree_n of_o god_n to_o be_v ground_v upon_o the_o mutable_a and_o unconstant_a will_n of_o man_n we_o on_o the_o other_o side_n teach_v that_o our_o salvation_n whole_o proceed_v from_o the_o charity_n and_o love_n of_o god_n and_o that_o all_o mean_n conduce_v to_o that_o end_n rise_v from_o the_o same_o fountain_n of_o love_n and_o so_o our_o charity_n as_o a_o effect_n of_o that_o charity_n of_o god_n to_o we_o serve_v not_o as_o a_o cause_n move_v god_n to_o save_v but_o follow_v as_o a_o cause_n declare_v who_o god_n will_v save_v and_o that_o our_o charity_n as_o it_o be_v a_o fruit_n and_o effect_n of_o god_n charity_n be_v true_a charity_n and_o the_o work_n proceed_v from_o that_o charity_n of_o we_o good_a but_o imperfect_a good_a as_o do_v by_o a_o person_n accept_v imperfect_a as_o do_v by_o a_o sinner_n as_o do_v by_o a_o babe_n which_o grow_v and_o labour_n towards_o perfection_n which_o perfection_n be_v not_o whole_o to_o be_v attain_a till_o this_o imperfection_n be_v whole_o put_v away_o and_o corruption_n have_v put_v on_o incorruption_n and_o therefore_o for_o merit_n we_o be_v far_o from_o it_o as_o a_o doctrine_n opposite_a both_o to_o our_o charity_n and_o to_o the_o charity_n of_o god_n to_o our_o charity_n because_o charity_n be_v a_o free_a worker_n not_o respect_v the_o wage_n if_o she_o think_v to_o merit_v she_o be_v not_o charity_n to_o the_o charity_n of_o god_n because_o if_o god_n give_v for_o the_o merit_n of_o our_o work_n heaven_n be_v not_o proper_o a_o gift_n nor_o grace_n be_v not_o grace_n nor_o charity_n charity_n for_o charity_n be_v free_a thus_o even_o adam_n himself_o in_o his_o integrity_n can_v not_o merit_v because_o be_v have_v nothing_o but_o what_o he_o receive_v he_o be_v indebt_v for_o his_o daily_a bread_n and_o for_o the_o grace_n he_o have_v to_o see_v and_o acknowledge_v this_o love_n of_o god_n so_o whilst_o we_o be_v give_v thanks_n for_o benefit_n receive_v we_o be_v not_o pay_v our_o debt_n but_o run_v far_o in_o for_o every_o grace_n that_o we_o have_v be_v a_o new_a obligation_n to_o he_o that_o have_v shall_v be_v give_v and_o we_o be_v receive_v whilst_o we_o think_v ourselves_o give_v again_o they_o teach_v though_o christ_n die_v for_o we_o and_o though_o god_n grace_n guide_n and_o direct_v our_o action_n and_o affection_n yet_o there_o be_v some_o sin_n leave_v to_o be_v satisfy_v and_o discharge_v by_o ourselves_o either_o in_o this_o life_n by_o work_n of_o merit_n or_o penance_n here_o or_o hereafter_o by_o punishment_n in_o purgatory_n now_o this_o they_o do_v teach_v not_o ever_o perhaps_o because_o they_o so_o believe_v but_o because_o it_o be_v a_o profitable_a error_n and_o they_o know_v they_o may_v easy_o undertake_v to_o pardon_v all_o that_o come_v into_o purgatory_n beside_o it_o be_v a_o great_a glory_n for_o their_o hierarchy_n to_o be_v stickler_n in_o so_o large_a and_o spacious_a a_o room_n as_o they_o fancy_n or_o feign_v it_o to_o be_v not_o only_o to_o have_v all_o earth_n but_o all_o purgatory_n also_o within_o the_o verge_n of_o their_o inquisition_n now_o we_o teach_v the_o contrary_a because_o we_o see_v this_o doctrine_n derogatory_n to_o god_n infinite_a mercy_n and_o glory_n and_o to_o the_o infinite_a merit_n of_o our_o saviour_n as_o if_o god_n have_v forget_v to_o be_v gracious_a or_o as_o if_o our_o saviour_n merit_n and_o action_n be_v imperfect_a as_o our_o work_n be_v or_o rather_o indeed_o as_o if_o our_o work_n be_v perfect_a to_o merit_v &_o supererrogate_v and_o his_o imperfect_a not_o able_a to_o do_v enough_o for_o all_o when_o our_o saviour_n death_n do_v satisfy_v for_o all_o the_o faithful_a and_o be_v sufficient_a for_o many_o world_n more_o and_o his_o merit_n be_v superaboundant_a for_o we_o and_o for_o all_o that_o believe_v and_o repent_v five_o they_o say_v that_o after_o the_o word_n of_o consecration_n the_o bread_n be_v change_v into_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n as_o he_o be_v bear_v as_o he_o suffer_v this_o they_o do_v to_o exalt_v the_o dignity_n of_o their_o preisthood_n we_o teach_v the_o contrary_a that_o it_o be_v his_o body_n and_o true_o eat_v but_o both_o by_o faith_n after_o a_o spiritual_a manner_n as_o the_o angel_n eat_v christ_n in_o heaven_n by_o contemplation_n and_o this_o we_o teach_v both_o because_o we_o have_v good_a testimony_n of_o scripture_n with_o the_o whole_a choherence_n thereof_o and_o the_o analagie_a of_o faith_n so_o to_o expound_v it_o as_o also_o because_o it_o make_v more_o for_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o the_o humiliation_n of_o man_n when_o our_o adversary_n doctrine_n do_v the_o contrary_a for_o do_v it_o not_o call_v in_o question_n the_o truth_n of_o god_n word_n the_o truth_n of_o christ_n body_n when_o we_o be_v lead_v to_o imagine_v such_o a_o body_n as_o may_v be_v bear_v of_o the_o virgin_n or_o not_o bear_v may_v be_v crucify_v or_o not_o crucify_v be_v
