die_a life_n which_o delay_v their_o enjoyment_n of_o a_o eternal_a life_n 4._o they_o can_v not_o pass_v to_o the_o beatifical_a vision_n of_o their_o god_n without_o go_v by_o the_o way_n of_o the_o judgement_n and_o sentence_n they_o do_v as_o it_o be_v die_v with_o a_o eager_a desire_n of_o die_v and_o joyful_o embrace_v that_o death_n which_o bring_v they_o to_o behold_v the_o kind_n the_o cheerful_a and_o beautiful_a countenance_n of_o their_o love_a judge_n they_o know_v they_o be_v to_o be_v judge_v by_o their_o father_n their_o god_n their_o creator_n and_o redeemer_n their_o reward_v we_o with_o life_n and_o glory_n if_o they_o fly_v over_o to_o their_o enemy_n it_o be_v out_o of_o hope_n to_o preserve_v their_o life_n but_o if_o we_o do_v so_o we_o run_v to_o eternal_a death_n and_o fly_v from_o eternal_a life_n the_o war_n of_o the_o world_n be_v make_v by_o wound_v hurt_v and_o kill_v other_o but_o the_o war_n of_o god_n against_o the_o world_n be_v make_v by_o receive_v injury_n affront_v wound_n and_o even_o death_n itself_o if_o it_o be_v necessary_a the_o war_n of_o the_o world_n be_v to_o conquer_v by_o destroy_v other_o but_o the_o war_n against_o the_o world_n be_v to_o conquer_v by_o undergo_a difficulty_n and_o suffer_v for_o god_n sake_n in_o that_o war_n it_o be_v force_n that_o overcome_v in_o this_o it_o be_v patience_n the_o victory_n of_o that_o war_n be_v get_v by_o pull_v down_o and_o trample_v upon_o other_o but_o in_o this_o by_o debase_v and_o humble_v ourselves_o the_o triumph_n of_o that_o war_n be_v here_o upon_o earth_n and_o of_o a_o short_a continuance_n but_o those_o of_o this_o war_n be_v to_o be_v in_o heaven_n above_o and_o to_o endure_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o fight_v therefore_o courageous_o have_v patience_n and_o persevere_v the_o battle_n last_v but_o for_o a_o while_n thou_o be_v already_o near_o the_o crown_n that_o be_v to_o be_v thy_o reward_n arm_v we_o o_o thou_o great_a captain_n of_o our_o salvation_n for_o this_o warfare_n with_o the_o shield_n of_o faith_n the_o breastplate_n of_o righteousness_n the_o helmet_n of_o salvation_n and_o with_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o grant_v that_o have_v our_o foot_n shod_a with_o the_o preparation_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o peace_n we_o may_v cheerful_o withstand_v all_o assault_n of_o our_o ghostly_a enemy_n keep_v still_o present_a in_o our_o thought_n the_o vow_n we_o make_v to_o thou_o in_o our_o baptism_n to_o fight_v manful_o under_o thy_o banner_n against_o the_o world_n the_o flesh_n and_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o continue_v thy_o faithful_a soldier_n and_o servant_n unto_o our_o life_n end_v the_o second_o week_n of_o repentance_n and_o absolution_n our_o bless_a redeemer_n and_o saviour_n of_o soul_n do_v not_o stop_v here_o he_o think_v it_o not_o enough_o to_o arm_v we_o for_o the_o spiritual_a warfare_n but_o have_v also_o provide_v a_o remedy_n to_o cure_v our_o wound_n his_o divine_a majesty_n know_v our_o weakness_n he_o know_v our_o proneness_n to_o vice_n he_o know_v that_o like_a coward_n we_o shall_v sometime_o throw_v down_o our_o weapon_n at_o the_o foot_n of_o our_o enemy_n and_o base_o fly_v from_o his_o banner_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o some_o filthy_a appetite_n he_o will_v not_o leave_v our_o soul_n without_o help_n but_o his_o compassion_n see_v our_o frailty_n and_o misery_n be_v please_v in_o the_o very_a sight_n of_o so_o great_a ingratitude_n to_o prepare_v a_o medicine_n for_o the_o cure_n of_o our_o wound_n and_o a_o antidote_n for_o the_o poison_n of_o our_o sin_n by_o establish_v the_o doctrine_n of_o repentance_n and_o by_o give_v power_n and_o commandment_n to_o his_o minister_n to_o declare_v and_o pronounce_v unto_o such_o as_o be_v true_o penitent_a the_o absolution_n and_o remission_n of_o their_o sin_n great_a be_v the_o love_n of_o our_o lord_n in_o die_v for_o we_o upon_o the_o cross_n nor_o be_v it_o less_o in_o give_v we_o this_o mean_n to_o make_v his_o suffering_n effectual_a to_o we_o to_o pardon_v past_a offence_n have_v be_v see_v and_o sometime_o one_o man_n to_o suffer_v for_o another_o but_o not_o at_o so_o more_o when_o he_o know_v that_o they_o be_v not_o only_a enemy_n but_o that_o they_o be_v ungrateful_a and_o despise_v his_o benefit_n to_o shed_v his_o very_a blood_n to_o make_v a_o medicine_n for_o their_o wound_n this_o be_v a_o pity_n exceed_v all_o humane_a understanding_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v care_n take_v in_o army_n to_o cure_v the_o wound_a and_o hospital_n for_o the_o sick_a it_o be_v not_o strange_a because_o they_o be_v faithful_a soldier_n and_o venture_v their_o life_n in_o fight_v for_o their_o king_n but_o in_o the_o war_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o the_o saviour_n of_o soul_n shall_v prepare_v remedy_n not_o for_o his_o friend_n that_o fight_v on_o his_o side_n but_o for_o enemy_n and_o soldier_n that_o desert_n he_o that_o he_o shall_v admit_v they_o again_o to_o be_v new_o list_v under_o his_o banner_n be_v a_o mercy_n beyond_o comparison_n to_o pardon_v mutineer_n have_v be_v see_v in_o army_n but_o yet_o the_o head_n be_v common_o punish_v and_o the_o company_n disband_v but_o not_o only_o to_o pardon_v such_o enemy_n and_o traitor_n but_o to_o call_v they_o back_o to_o love_n to_o cure_v to_o reward_v to_o honour_n and_o sustain_v they_o with_o his_o own_o flesh_n and_o blood_n can_v be_v the_o effect_n of_o nothing_o but_o a_o infinite_a charity_n and_o compassion_n so_o great_a be_v the_o benefit_n of_o repentance_n which_o give_v we_o a_o to_o be_v drown_v amid_o the_o wave_n see_v with_o what_o eagerness_n he_o call_v for_o a_o cable_n with_o what_o greediness_n he_o catch_v at_o the_o plank_n nay_o the_o poor_a wretch_n will_v even_o lay_v hold_n on_o a_o naked_a sword_n to_o save_v his_o life_n though_o with_o the_o loss_n of_o his_o blood_n so_o the_o christian_a who_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o baptism_n sail_n in_o the_o ship_n of_o the_o church_n be_v carry_v by_o his_o passion_n throw_v himself_o into_o the_o world_n and_o be_v sink_v in_o the_o tempest_n of_o his_o sin_n and_o if_o he_o be_v drown_v he_o perish_v to_o eternity_n but_o as_o he_o be_v sink_v he_o find_v this_o second_o plank_n of_o repentance_n to_o save_v he_o from_o shipwreck_n and_o by_o it_o be_v draw_v up_o into_o the_o ship_n again_o and_o preserve_v to_o arrive_v in_o safety_n at_o his_o desire_a port._n apply_v thyself_o therefore_o to_o the_o use_n of_o this_o remedy_n with_o humility_n with_o a_o holy_a disposition_n and_o great_a sorrow_n for_o thy_o sin_n and_o by_o faith_n in_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n blood_n and_o then_o thou_o shall_v rise_v up_o not_o only_o cure_v but_o crown_v call_v to_o remembrance_n thy_o sin_n and_o make_v a_o firm_a resolution_n never_o to_o offend_v thy_o lord_n again_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o sorrow_n that_o be_v pure_a in_o its_o sincerity_n pious_a in_o its_o intention_n great_a in_o confession_n be_v clear_a and_o undissembled_a with_o confusion_n of_o face_n for_o thy_o often_o relapse_n give_v glory_n to_o god_n and_o take_v shame_n to_o thyself_o make_v use_n of_o a_o
