carry_v we_o into_o the_o way_n so_o you_o must_v knock_v off_o the_o old_a bias_n as_o well_o as_o put_v on_o a_o new_a one_o that_o be_v common_a nature_n lie_v as_o a_o indifferent_a thing_n between_o grace_n and_o sin_n the_o flesh_n and_o the_o spirit_n corruption_n and_o holiness_n so_o that_o as_o the_o body_n be_v between_o health_n and_o sickness_n so_o be_v common_a nature_n between_o original_a sin_n which_o be_v as_o the_o sickness_n or_o death_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o holiness_n which_o be_v the_o health_n of_o it_o now_o it_o be_v not_o only_o require_v that_o there_o be_v a_o infusion_n of_o the_o new_a quality_n but_o likewise_o a_o weaken_n of_o this_o old_a both_o can_v stand_v together_o so_o far_o as_o you_o strengthen_v one_o the_o other_o be_v weaken_v it_o be_v always_o so_o where_o be_v contrariety_n where_o there_o be_v no_o contrariety_n two_o may_v stand_v together_o but_o when_o thing_n be_v opposite_a the_o come_n in_o of_o the_o one_o be_v the_o weaken_n of_o the_o other_o the_o come_n of_o heat_n be_v a_o weaken_n of_o cold_a this_o be_v of_o special_a use_n use_v and_o this_o use_n we_o be_v to_o make_v of_o it_o that_o hence_o then_o you_o see_v this_o will_v follow_v that_o if_o you_o find_v much_o newness_n in_o yourselves_o according_a to_o your_o own_o opinion_n you_o find_v you_o can_v do_v many_o thing_n you_o can_v never_o do_v before_o you_o be_v able_a to_o do_v these_o and_o these_o duty_n of_o new_a obedience_n well_o suppose_v it_o yet_o except_o there_o be_v a_o mortification_n of_o the_o old_a lust_n if_o thou_o find_v that_o there_o be_v any_o lust_n continue_v in_o thou_o in_o strength_n that_o in_o that_o regard_n thou_o be_v the_o same_o man_n still_o whatsoever_o addition_n there_o be_v it_o be_v no_o matter_n it_o be_v certain_a thou_o be_v not_o yet_o a_o new_a creature_n for_o a_o new_a creature_n consist_v not_o in_o superinduction_n of_o the_o new_a quality_n the_o old_a remain_v but_o in_o a_o weaken_n of_o the_o old_a too_o it_o be_v not_o only_o a_o superaddition_n of_o the_o new_a but_o the_o death_n of_o the_o old_a also_o therefore_o if_o thou_o find_v any_o corruption_n continue_v in_o the_o fullness_n of_o their_o first_o strength_n not_o weaken_v at_o all_o though_o thou_o have_v all_o sign_n of_o grace_n all_o part_n of_o a_o new_a creature_n to_o thy_o seem_n yet_o thou_o be_v deceive_v because_o if_o thou_o be_v new_a there_o will_v be_v a_o mortification_n of_o the_o old_a lust_n so_o again_o it_o be_v true_a on_o the_o other_o side_n put_v case_n thou_o find_v a_o great_a change_n in_o thyself_o such_o lust_n as_o have_v be_v vigorous_a and_o lively_a thou_o find_v to_o be_v
this_o be_v not_o a_o light_a notion_n but_o of_o great_a moment_n for_o it_o will_v make_v thou_o love_v the_o lord_n jesus_n saint_n paul_n put_v this_o among_o the_o great_a mercy_n he_o have_v be_v merciful_a to_o i_o with_o faith_n and_o love_n 1._o that_o amaze_v he_o that_o he_o can_v never_o be_v thankful_a enough_o for_o it_o that_o be_v he_o have_v wrought_v in_o i_o faith_n and_o love_n therefore_o give_v he_o the_o praise_n it_o be_v god_n that_o do_v it_o we_o be_v but_o the_o instrument_n we_o praise_v not_o the_o trumpet_n but_o the_o trumpeter_n we_o praise_v not_o the_o pencil_n but_o the_o painter_n it_o be_v god_n that_o do_v the_o work_n give_v he_o therefore_o the_o whole_a praise_n of_o it_o this_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o much_o use_n to_o you_o for_o when_o that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o minister_n but_o god_n that_o do_v it_o word_n then_o do_v not_o expect_v from_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v come_v with_o excellency_n of_o wisdom_n or_o of_o word_n that_o we_o shall_v come_v with_o wit_n and_o eloquence_n and_o learning_n will_v this_o make_v a_o new_a creature_n no_o it_o will_v not_o do_v it_o for_o it_o be_v god_n that_o make_v man_n new_a creature_n and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o he_o will_v do_v it_o by_o his_o own_o instrument_n that_o be_v by_o his_o own_o word_n thus_o paul_n reason_n 1_o cor._n 2._o we_o preach_v the_o gospel_n not_o with_o excellency_n of_o word_n for_o then_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n will_v be_v of_o no_o effect_n that_o be_v no_o man_n will_v be_v a_o new_a creature_n and_o christ_n will_v die_v in_o vain_a be_v the_o word_n we_o preach_v there_o be_v a_o evidence_n it_o be_v a_o speech_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o when_o the_o spiriâ—_n speak_v to_o the_o heart_n there_o be_v power_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o christ_n do_v so_o much_o good_a he_o teach_v with_o authority_n and_o not_o as_o the_o scribe_n what_o be_v that_o to_o come_v with_o authority_n as_o when_o a_o constable_n come_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o king_n he_o show_v his_o evidence_n he_o have_v that_o which_o make_v evident_a to_o he_o with_o who_o he_o have_v to_o deal_v that_o he_o come_v from_o the_o king_n we_o preach_v with_o authority_n then_o only_o when_o we_o speak_v from_o god_n to_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n this_o consist_v not_o in_o excellency_n of_o word_n but_o so_o much_o as_o there_o be_v of_o god_n so_o much_o authority_n therefore_o come_v not_o with_o affectation_n of_o excellency_n of_o word_n and_o wisdom_n if_o we_o have_v all_o the_o wit_n in_o the_o world_n to_o set_v word_n of_o god_n in_o it_o it_o be_v better_a than_o that_o in_o which_o it_o be_v set_v as_o the_o diamond_n be_v better_a than_o the_o gold_n in_o which_o it_o be_v set_v if_o you_o be_v to_o choose_v a_o minister_n choose_v not_o such_o a_o one_o desire_v it_o not_o expect_v it_o not_o the_o foolishness_n of_o preach_v be_v wise_a than_o man_n it_o will_v do_v more_o than_o all_o the_o wisdom_n of_o man_n though_o it_o be_v but_o foolishness_n to_o some_o we_o speak_v wisdom_n to_o they_o that_o be_v perfect_a say_v paul_n they_o that_o be_v perfect_a will_v recount_v it_o wisdom_n it_o be_v foolishness_n to_o they_o that_o be_v child_n and_o unable_a to_o discern_v again_o though_o it_o be_v but_o foolishness_n on_o the_o outside_n yet_o there_o be_v treasure_n within_o and_o god_n have_v hide_v these_o treasure_n under_o base_a outside_n that_o man_n may_v stumble_v at_o they_o as_o man_n that_o hide_v treasure_n under_o straw_n the_o foolishness_n of_o preach_v save_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n therefore_o see_v it_o be_v god_n that_o do_v it_o he_o will_v use_v his_o own_o instrument_n god_n work_v by_o it_o can_v word_n can_v all_o moral_a wit_n make_v a_o new_a creature_n no_o it_o be_v god_n then_o why_o do_v we_o make_v a_o question_n the_o more_o the_o word_n be_v discover_v and_o bring_v home_o the_o better_a it_o be_v because_o indeed_o when_o we_o preach_v any_o thing_n else_o you_o do_v but_o see_v a_o creature_n and_o you_o think_v you_o have_v to_o do_v with_o a_o creature_n for_o you_o can_v answer_v wit_n with_o wit_n and_o learning_n with_o learning_n and_o when_o you_o see_v you_o have_v to_o do_v with_o man_n though_o never_o so_o excellent_a yet_o they_o be_v man_n but_o when_o christ_n speak_v to_o the_o conscience_n now_o the_o heart_n be_v bring_v down_o when_o it_o see_v it_o have_v to_o do_v with_o god_n that_o only_o have_v to_o do_v with_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n therefore_o expect_v not_o the_o contrary_a and_o remember_v that_o god_n be_v the_o doer_n of_o it_o it_o be_v he_o that_o write_v the_o epistle_n though_o we_o be_v the_o minister_n it_o be_v therefore_o not_o without_o use_n that_o we_o preach_v this_o doctrine_n to_o you_o word_n and_o to_o all_o that_o i_o have_v say_v add_v this_o one_o more_o therefore_o if_o you_o find_v there_o have_v not_o be_v a_o mighty_a work_n of_o god_n repeat_v and_o recall_v the_o word_n to_o memory_n but_o there_o be_v another_o save_a hearing_n that_o be_v when_o be_v it_o ingraft_v and_o when_o it_o be_v ingraft_v even_o then_o when_o it_o make_v you_o new_a creature_n as_o a_o graft_n be_v then_o graft_v when_o it_o change_v all_o the_o stock_n therefore_o consider_v whether_o you_o do_v so_o hear_v or_o no_o that_o it_o have_v breed_v such_o a_o change_n in_o you_o and_o know_v otherwise_o you_o have_v hear_v it_o in_o vain_a for_o what_o do_v we_o do_v when_o we_o preach_v the_o word_n we_o do_v as_o gehezi_n do_v he_o come_v spiritual_a riches_n set_v god_n a_o work_n to_o do_v we_o good_a they_o be_v beyond_o the_o other_o as_o much_o as_o the_o help_n of_o god_n go_v beyond_o the_o help_n of_o man_n when_o you_o need_v up_o may_v serve_v their_o turn_n they_o may_v have_v those_o ready_a for_o their_o use_n when_o other_o man_n want_v they_o be_v not_o these_o riches_n for_o the_o same_o purpose_n will_v there_o not_o come_v a_o day_n of_o need_n will_v there_o not_o come_v a_o time_n of_o spend_v when_o there_o will_v be_v no_o leisure_n to_o gather_v at_o the_o day_n of_o death_n then_o all_o the_o seed_n sow_v to_o the_o spirit_n all_o the_o good_a work_n that_o we_o have_v lay_v up_o will_v be_v as_o a_o treasure_n and_o at_o that_o time_n will_v do_v we_o good_a and_o that_o be_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o death_n of_o a_o godly_a man_n and_o another_o when_o a_o wicked_a man_n come_v to_o the_o time_n of_o need_n he_o have_v nothing_o to_o sustain_v he_o he_o have_v no_o oil_n leave_v in_o his_o lamp_n he_o have_v nothing_o to_o help_v he_o up_o but_o the_o godly_a man_n have_v a_o treasure_n that_o he_o have_v gather_v all_o his_o life_n be_v to_o lay_v up_o a_o treasure_n and_o this_o my_o brethren_n you_o shall_v find_v to_o be_v a_o great_a comfort_n at_o that_o time_n that_o when_o you_o come_v to_o die_v all_o the_o faithful_a prayer_n that_o you_o have_v make_v all_o be_v not_o a_o small_a matter_n to_o be_v rich_a now_o when_o you_o be_v in_o christ_n you_o be_v rich_a out_o of_o he_o you_o be_v poor_a and_o have_v nothing_o to_o stand_v you_o in_o stead_n in_o the_o time_n of_o need_n again_o this_o a_o man_n have_v by_o riches_n that_o he_o be_v independent_a he_o need_v not_o to_o serve_v other_o and_o therefore_o you_o know_v the_o proverb_n be_v that_o a_o rich_a man_n he_o can_v live_v by_o other_o and_o without_o other_o and_o that_o be_v it_o they_o boast_v of_o so_o it_o be_v with_o all_o the_o saint_n they_o may_v say_v to_o all_o the_o world_n they_o can_v live_v without_o it_o because_o they_o have_v god_n to_o be_v they_o they_o have_v all_o his_o treasure_n open_a to_o they_o they_o have_v enough_o in_o he_o for_o he_o be_v all-sufficient_a though_o they_o have_v but_o he_o alone_o for_o their_o portion_n yet_o he_o be_v enough_o as_o he_o say_v to_o abraham_n i_o be_o all-sufficient_a and_o why_o there_o be_v but_o this_o benefit_n we_o have_v by_o be_v in_o christ_n that_o it_o make_v we_o comely_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o lord_n we_o shall_v be_v make_v beautiful_a indeed_o solomon_n in_o all_o his_o royalty_n be_v not_o so_o beautiful_a as_o one_o of_o the_o saint_n it_o be_v say_v the_o lily_n be_v much_o better_o clothe_v than_o he_o and_o why_o because_o that_o be_v a_o clothing_n of_o god_n odour_n you_o have_v music_n and_o all_o variety_n of_o dish_n all_o sort_n of_o wine_n so_o say_v he_o if_o you_o will_v come_v home_o to_o christ_n you_o shall_v have_v all_o thing_n that_o your_o heart_n can_v wish_v and_o desire_v now_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n that_o can_v give_v satisfaction_n to_o the_o soul_n you_o shall_v never_o have_v all_o thing_n else_o but_o as_o christ_n say_v if_o you_o drink_v of_o other_o water_n you_o shall_v thirst_v again_o this_o be_v that_o which_o satisfy_v because_o all_o other_o thing_n be_v but_o particular_a health_n you_o know_v will_v serve_v but_o against_o sickness_n wealth_n and_o profit_n will_v serve_v but_o against_o poverty_n credit_n and_o honour_n will_v but_o serve_v against_o disgrace_n the_o soul_n now_o be_v of_o a_o great_a latitude_n it_o be_v only_a god_n the_o universal_a good_a that_o can_v make_v a_o great_a feast_n to_o satisfy_v it_o he_o only_o can_v fill_v all_o the_o corner_n of_o the_o soul_n none_o can_v make_v a_o feast_n to_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n but_o only_o the_o lord_n because_o he_o be_v the_o universal_a good_a he_o fill_v the_o soul_n every_o way_n other_o thing_n do_v but_o weary_a they_o satisfy_v not_o when_o a_o man_n have_v all_o he_o can_v have_v something_o more_o he_o will_v have_v though_o he_o know_v not_o what_o i_o say_v there_o be_v nothing_o can_v satisfy_v but_o the_o lord_n only_o it_o be_v he_o that_o make_v the_o feast_n and_o thence_o be_v that_o speech_n why_o do_v you_o lay_v forth_o money_n and_o not_o for_o bread_n why_o do_v you_o labour_v without_o be_v satisfy_v but_o yet_o there_o be_v one_o property_n more_o by_o which_o you_o shall_v know_v what_o this_o feast_n be_v it_o be_v a_o continual_a feast_n that_o be_v it_o be_v not_o only_o a_o feast_n but_o as_o i_o say_v before_o there_o be_v a_o continual_a tract_n a_o continual_a stream_n of_o comfort_n without_o interruption_n or_o intermission_n a_o good_a conscience_n be_v a_o continual_a feast_n that_o which_o be_v say_v of_o a_o good_a conscience_n may_v be_v say_v of_o this_o feast_n that_o christ_n shall_v make_v you_o other_o feast_n be_v not_o continual_a the_o sweetness_n of_o one_o bit_n be_v go_v before_o another_o come_v and_o when_o you_o eat_v well_o and_o be_v satisfy_v you_o desire_v no_o more_o you_o be_v glut_v with_o it_o and_o there_o be_v a_o end_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o here_o with_o this_o meat_n in_o this_o feast_n because_o here_o both_o the_o appetite_n and_o the_o meat_n continue_v therefore_o i_o say_v it_o be_v a_o continual_a feast_n because_o both_o the_o stomach_n and_o the_o feast_n continue_v they_o last_v and_o endure_v the_o stomach_n and_o the_o feast_n the_o desire_n and_o the_o object_n that_o be_v your_o drink_n shall_v not_o take_v away_o your_o thirst_n and_o your_o thirst_n again_o shall_v not_o want_v drink_n and_o that_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o that_o eph._n 5._o say_v he_o be_v not_o fill_v with_o wine_n wherein_o be_v excess_n but_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n mark_v the_o meaning_n of_o that_o be_v this_o say_v he_o if_o you_o taste_v wine_n and_o the_o sweetness_n of_o it_o in_o time_n you_o be_v subject_a to_o excess_n when_o you_o drink_v a_o little_a your_o thirst_n be_v go_v go_v further_o and_o there_o be_v excess_n but_o now_o come_v to_o spiritual_a thing_n your_o desire_n continue_v still_o there_o be_v thirst_n and_o still_o there_o be_v drink_v you_o shall_v still_o have_v a_o strong_a appetite_n and_o you_o shall_v still_o have_v meat_n one_o take_v not_o away_o another_o there_o be_v a_o continual_a feast_n and_o therefore_o be_v not_o fill_v with_o wine_n wherein_o be_v excess_n that_o be_v the_o pleasure_n of_o it_o be_v soon_o go_v but_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o spirit_n that_o shall_v refresh_v you_o more_o than_o any_o cup_n of_o sack_n than_o any_o flagon_n of_o wine_n i_o say_v this_o comfort_n you_o shall_v have_v that_o this_o feast_n shall_v continue_v with_o you_o when_o sickness_n come_v what_o will_v other_o thing_n do_v we_o good_a take_v all_o the_o comfort_n in_o the_o world_n they_o admit_v interruption_n if_o a_o man_n live_v in_o abundance_n of_o all_o thing_n yet_o many_o case_n there_o be_v many_o trouble_n wherein_o he_o shall_v have_v no_o comfort_n from_o these_o but_o this_o feast_n shall_v continue_v with_o you_o it_o shall_v lie_v down_o with_o you_o it_o will_v go_v with_o your_o sick_a bed_n to_o you_o and_o there_o a_o good_a conscience_n will_v be_v a_o continual_a feast_n it_o will_v go_v to_o prison_n with_o you_o and_o there_o it_o will_v refresh_v you_o it_o will_v pass_v with_o you_o through_o ill_n and_o good_a report_n and_o there_o it_o will_v comfort_v you_o it_o leave_v you_o not_o in_o death_n but_o there_o and_o in_o all_o the_o change_n of_o this_o life_n it_o shall_v be_v with_o you_o to_o refresh_v you_o and_o to_o cheer_v your_o spirit_n more_o than_o any_o cordial_n this_o you_o shall_v have_v by_o christ_n if_o you_o will_v take_v he_o such_o a_o feast_n he_o will_v make_v you_o but_o you_o will_v say_v quest._n we_o find_v no_o such_o thing_n we_o find_v no_o such_o sweetness_n in_o christ._n answ._n it_o be_v because_o you_o be_v not_o hungry_a come_v and_o tell_v such_o a_o one_o as_o paul_n be_v of_o such_o a_o banquet_n oh_o how_o acceptable_a will_v it_o be_v come_v and_o tell_v a_o die_a man_n that_o have_v feel_v the_o bitterness_n of_o sin_n the_o fierceness_n of_o god_n wrath_n such_o a_o man_n will_v come_v as_o a_o hungry_a man_n to_o it_o to_o such_o a_o man_n it_o will_v be_v meat_n and_o drink_n indeed_o and_o so_o it_o will_v be_v to_o you_o if_o you_o be_v hungry_a where_o there_o be_v a_o great_a dole_n make_v the_o poor_a come_v those_o that_o be_v hungry_a come_v so_o the_o poor_a receive_v the_o gospel_n those_o that_o be_v hungry_a will_v come_v and_o to_o those_o it_o be_v a_o feast_n and_o therefore_o as_o christ_n conclude_v his_o sermon_n when_o he_o have_v speak_v of_o thing_n belong_v to_o the_o spirit_n thing_n belong_v to_o eternal_a life_n say_v he_o there_o he_o that_o have_v a_o ear_n to_o hear_v let_v he_o hear_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v we_o propound_v to_o you_o these_o thing_n but_o if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o heart_n within_o if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o ear_n to_o hear_v all_o our_o labour_n be_v lose_v so_o i_o say_v except_o you_o have_v that_o taste_n that_o you_o taste_v how_o bountiful_a the_o lord_n be_v and_o what_o a_o feast_n christ_n have_v prepare_v for_o you_o all_o our_o labour_n be_v to_o no_o purpose_n but_o be_v this_o all_o we_o shall_v have_v by_o christ_n sure_o here_o be_v
