be_v consider_v first_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o second_o the_o reason_n to_o move_v we_o unto_o it_o three_o the_o mean_n whereby_o to_o attain_v it_o four_o the_o sign_n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v as_o the_o sun_n be_v turn_v into_o darkness_n so_o man_n shine_v in_o this_o world_n must_v be_v ashamed_a and_o confound_v because_o of_o their_o sin_n as_o the_o moon_n sometime_o increase_v at_o other_o time_n decrease_v always_o change_v so_o must_v a_o sinner_n be_v always_o decrease_v in_o sin_n increase_v in_o grace_n as_o a_o rock_n be_v turn_v into_o water_n so_o must_v our_o hard_a heart_n into_o plenty_n of_o tear_n as_o a_o stone_n be_v turn_v into_o copper_n and_o give_v a_o sound_n so_o when_o we_o be_v touch_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n then_o must_v the_o voice_n of_o our_o confession_n sound_n as_o the_o sea_n be_v dry_v up_o so_o must_v our_o bitterness_n of_o sin_n be_v turn_v into_o the_o drought_n of_o repentance_n as_o the_o sparkle_n of_o fire_n ascend_v when_o the_o body_n be_v mix_v with_o earth_n can_v so_o although_o our_o body_n as_o yet_o can_v ascend_v yet_o we_o send_v our_o sparkle_n and_o tear_n unto_o the_o lord_n as_o fire_n do_v mollify_v the_o hard_a iron_n so_o must_v our_o hard_a heart_n by_o god_n spirit_n this_o fire_n be_v keep_v under_o the_o ash_n of_o humility_n and_o the_o remembrance_n of_o the_o day_n of_o death_n who_o way_n evil_a in_o themselves_o abominable_a in_o god_n sight_n hateful_a unto_o good_a man_n lead_v unto_o everlasting_a condemnation_n the_o reward_n due_a unto_o they_o death_n and_o everlasting_a torment_n in_o the_o fire_n of_o hell_n the_o equity_n whether_o it_o be_v more_o equal_a that_o we_o shall_v obey_v god_n or_o the_o devil_n the_o motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n or_o our_o own_o corrupt_a nature_n have_v god_n be_v so_o kind_a and_o gracious_a unto_o we_o it_o be_v most_o just_a and_o equal_a that_o we_o also_o shall_v become_v obedient_a unto_o he_o the_o utility_n as_o those_o which_o run_v on_o in_o wickedness_n be_v in_o the_o way_n of_o destruction_n and_o in_o danger_n of_o destruction_n so_o also_o such_o as_o do_v return_n and_o forsake_v their_o former_a way_n shall_v certain_o be_v save_v the_o mean_n whereby_o we_o may_v attain_v unto_o this_o conversion_n and_o it_o may_v be_v effect_v in_o we_o be_v these_o first_o turn_v the_o mean_n whereby_o we_o may_v be_v move_v to_o turn_v we_o must_v have_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n in_o our_o understanding_n second_o we_o must_v know_v what_o our_o sin_n and_o transgression_n be_v which_o we_o do_v commit_v against_o the_o law_n three_o we_o must_v know_v the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n cleave_v unto_o the_o action_n itself_o four_o we_o must_v know_v the_o judgement_n and_o wrath_n of_o god_n which_o do_v seize_v upon_o such_o as_o break_v this_o law_n those_o point_n be_v thorough_o mark_v in_o the_o next_o place_n the_o sinner_n be_v to_o apply_v the_o same_o unto_o the_o conscience_n after_o this_o manner_n which_o may_v be_v call_v the_o practical_a syllogism_n of_o the_o conscience_n every_o one_o which_o break_v the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v guilty_a of_o eternal_a comfort_v in_o our_o fall_n and_o move_v to_o labour_n for_o perfection_n that_o we_o may_v live_v the_o life_n of_o grace_n whereby_o we_o die_v daily_o and_o may_v overcome_v satan_n and_o have_v peace_n both_o with_o god_n and_o man_n for_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n 5.1_o rom._n 5.1_o we_o have_v peace_n with_o god_n through_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o use_v of_o this_o point_n be_v these_o for_o reprehension_n unto_o all_o such_o as_o brag_v and_o boast_v of_o their_o repentance_n use_v 1_o and_o yet_o have_v no_o change_n or_o alteration_n wrought_v within_o they_o they_o have_v not_o yet_o return_v from_o their_o evil_a way_n nay_o rather_o go_v further_o on_o in_o wickedness_n and_o with_o more_o eagerness_n then_o former_o for_o exhortation_n unto_o every_o one_o
