matter_n of_o predestination_n they_o ought_v to_o take_v diligent_a heed_n that_o in_o steed_n of_o god_n pure_a and_o simple_a truth_n they_o bring_v not_o soorth_o vain_a and_o curious_a speculation_n or_o dream_n which_o thing_n they_o can_v choose_v but_o do_v which_o go_v about_o to_o compass_v and_o accord_v these_o secret_a judgment_n of_o god_n with_o man_n wisdom_n &_o so_o do_v not_o only_o put_v difference_n betwirt_n predstination_n and_o the_o purpose_n of_o god_n which_o thing_n they_o must_v needs_o do_v but_o separate_v the_o one_o from_o the_o other_o for_o work_v of_o the_o â—â—â—â—ll_n to_o hide_v the_o gospel_n and_o word_n of_o god_n from_o we_o who_o desire_v nothing_o more_o then_o to_o separate_v we_o from_o god_n who_o desire_v nothing_o more_o than_o our_o utter_a overthrow_n and_o undo_n and_o to_o bring_v about_o this_o his_o policy_n and_o mischéevous_a work_n he_o have_v his_o minister_n even_o deceitful_a workman_n which_o thus_o teach_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v read_v in_o a_o know_a tongue_n unto_o the_o people_n which_o indeed_o be_v the_o only_a way_n to_o keep_v they_o in_o idolatry_n and_o superstition_n when_o they_o know_v not_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n word_n and_o pure_a religion_n and_o while_o they_o persuade_v the_o people_n that_o ignorance_n be_v the_o mother_n of_o devotion_n that_o the_o less_o they_o know_v the_o more_o devout_a they_o be_v this_o be_v rather_o a_o furtherance_n to_o their_o damnation_n because_o they_o know_v not_o god_n and_o the_o way_n to_o salvation_n for_o as_o the_o extreme_a want_n of_o bodily_a food_n procure_v death_n to_o the_o body_n so_o the_o extreme_a want_n of_o spiritual_a food_n that_o be_v of_o god_n word_n procure_v death_n to_o the_o soul_n it_o be_v meet_a say_v they_o that_o the_o scripture_n shall_v be_v set_v down_o in_o a_o unknown_a tongue_n lest_o some_o in_o read_v pervert_v they_o unto_o their_o own_o damnation_n which_o be_v not_o a_o sufficient_a reason_n to_o deny_v other_o the_o read_n thereof_o as_o if_o we_o shall_v never_o use_v wine_n because_o some_o by_o abuse_v it_o have_v fall_v into_o drunkenness_n or_o never_o take_v a_o weapon_n in_o hand_n to_o defend_v ourselves_o because_o many_o have_v be_v kill_v thereby_o but_o this_o reason_n of_o they_o be_v but_o a_o device_n of_o man_n brain_n and_o have_v no_o warrant_n from_o god_n word_n but_o be_v rather_o contrary_a unto_o it_o and_o herehence_a also_o arise_v a_o other_o argument_n of_o they_o that_o because_o it_o be_v say_v the_o priest_n lip_n shall_v keep_v knowledge_n therefore_o it_o be_v not_o for_o every_o one_o to_o search_v the_o scripture_n indeed_o it_o behove_v the_o minister_n to_o be_v learn_v that_o the_o people_n may_v be_v resolve_v of_o their_o doubt_n by_o he_o yet_o nevertheless_o there_o be_v no_o estate_n of_o people_n debar_v from_o the_o read_n the_o scripture_n for_o as_o god_n will_v have_v every_o man_n to_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o will_n so_o he_o will_v and_o command_v every_o one_o to_o search_v the_o scripture_n no_o estate_n no_o call_n except_v otherwise_o if_o none_o but_o the_o priest_n and_o minister_n be_v to_o read_v the_o scripture_n as_o they_o be_v man_n so_o under_o the_o colour_n and_o pretence_n of_o god_n word_n they_o may_v put_v forth_o their_o own_o device_n and_o their_o own_o imagination_n an_o other_o reason_n of_o they_o be_v this_o pearl_n be_v not_o to_o be_v cast_v before_o swine_n compare_v the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o it_o be_v indeed_o a_o most_o precious_a treasure_n and_o as_o much_o to_o we_o as_o our_o soul_n be_v worth_a because_o it_o be_v the_o mean_a to_o win_v soul_n compare_v it_o to_o a_o pearl_n and_o the_o lay_v people_n for_o who_o christ_n die_v and_o shed_v his_o blood_n to_o procure_v they_o salvation_n and_o everlasting_a life_n to_o compare_v they_o to_o swine_n which_o speech_n of_o they_o because_o it_o be_v ungodly_a uncharitable_a and_o unchrististian_a i_o leave_v it_o to_o the_o judgement_n of_o other_o as_o not_o worthy_a of_o any_o answer_n god_n forbid_v that_o the_o lie_v people_n although_o they_o be_v unlearned_a if_o they_o be_v so_o godly_a dispose_v and_o god_n do_v move_v their_o heart_n thereunto_o as_o to_o seek_v the_o comfort_n of_o their_o soul_n by_o read_v of_o the_o scripture_n and_o word_n of_o god_n god_n forbid_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v debar_v from_o the_o read_n and_o benefit_n thereof_o but_o even_o as_o the_o eunuch_n speak_v of_o in_o the_o act_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v but_o a_o lie_v man_n and_o yet_o the_o chief_a governor_n to_o a_o queen_n although_o he_o be_v unlearned_a do_v yet_o for_o all_o that_o read_v the_o scripture_n and_o can_v not_o understand_v they_o to_o the_o full_a so_o may_v we_o according_a to_o his_o example_n although_o our_o capacity_n be_v so_o weak_a that_o we_o can_v understand_v they_o give_v ourselves_o to_o the_o read_n of_o the_o scripture_n for_o as_o god_n send_v unto_o he_o a_o teacher_n philip_n by_o name_n into_o his_o chariot_n unaware_o to_o he_o as_o he_o be_v in_o his_o journey_n and_o read_v the_o scripture_n so_o we_o know_v not_o what_o help_v it_o may_v please_v god_n to_o grant_v we_o that_o be_v desirous_a to_o read_v his_o word_n that_o thereby_o we_o may_v simple_a compare_v it_o to_o a_o lantern_n and_o to_o a_o light_n which_o lighten_v every_o one_o that_o come_v unto_o it_o for_o as_o without_o the_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n there_o be_v nothing_o but_o darkness_n on_o the_o earth_n so_o without_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n there_o be_v nothing_o but_o ignorance_n among_o man_n and_o this_o be_v a_o wonderful_a disproof_n of_o they_o that_o stand_v in_o this_o doubt_n think_v it_o to_o be_v too_o hard_o for_o they_o be_v of_o a_o simple_a understanding_n and_o that_o therefore_o the_o doctor_n and_o learned_a man_n shall_v read_v the_o word_n even_o this_o disprove_v their_o opinion_n that_o heavenly_a matter_n be_v often_o hide_v from_o they_o that_o be_v learned_a when_o contrariwise_o it_o please_v god_n to_o open_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o simple_a and_o to_o give_v they_o understanding_n else_o how_o shall_v it_o be_v true_a that_o christ_n say_v i_o give_v thou_o thanks_n o_o father_n lord_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n because_o thou_o have_v hide_v these_o thing_n from_o the_o wise_a and_o have_v open_v they_o unto_o babe_n even_o so_o o_o lord_n because_o it_o be_v thy_o good_a will_n and_o tribulation_n rejoice_v in_o persecution_n rejoice_v in_o torment_n rejoice_v in_o death_n because_o they_o have_v be_v so_o well_o learn_v in_o god_n school_v in_o god_n book_n that_o the_o love_n spare_v thy_o study_n ease_v and_o mind_n delight_v for_o brevity_n bring_v attention_n and_o a_o long_a discourse_n tediousness_n the_o learned_a philosopher_n and_o searcher_n of_o god_n work_n perceive_v the_o excellency_n of_o god_n creature_n and_o the_o beautiful_a frame_n of_o the_o world_n give_v it_o a_o a_o name_n agreeable_a thereunto_o and_o call_v it_o beauty_n itself_o for_o if_o the_o work_n of_o man_n deserve_v great_a commendation_n and_o that_o the_o carpenter_n in_o the_o frame_n of_o his_o house_n the_o mason_n in_o his_o stoneworke_n the_o painter_n in_o his_o picture_n may_v excel_v how_o much_o more_o excellent_a and_o pass_v beautiful_a shall_v the_o frame_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n be_v and_o the_o workmanship_n of_o every_o creature_n make_v and_o ordain_v that_o live_v at_o rest_n in_o his_o possession_n that_o have_v nothing_o to_o vex_v he_o and_o that_o have_v prosperity_n in_o all_o thing_n when_o the_o sorrow_n of_o death_n come_v in_o place_n all_o our_o joy_n be_v go_v which_o endure_v but_o for_o a_o moment_n of_o time_n and_o be_v as_o a_o thing_n of_o nothing_o but_o the_o thing_n be_v far_o worse_o for_o after_o these_o joy_n come_v sorrow_n and_o never_o joy_n again_o and_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o â—â—â—fest_a sorrow_n of_o worldly_a mind_a man_n who_o mind_n and_o heart_n have_v never_o any_o taste_n and_o feel_v of_o heaven_n and_o heavenly_a joy_n that_o when_o death_n begin_v to_o look_v they_o in_o the_o face_n who_o they_o will_v avoid_v if_o possible_o they_o can_v this_o i_o say_v be_v their_o sorrow_n that_o they_o shall_v depart_v from_o their_o earthly_a happiness_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o see_v the_o face_n of_o their_o joy_n pleasure_n and_o vanity_n any_o more_o the_o pain_n of_o the_o body_n the_o fear_n of_o death_n the_o sight_n of_o thildren_n the_o weep_a of_o the_o wife_n the_o flattery_n of_o the_o world_n the_o temptation_n of_o the_o devil_n the_o dissemble_a physician_n who_o for_o gain_n do_v put_v he_o in_o hope_n of_o life_n see_v how_o his_o joy_n be_v turn_v into_o sorrow_n and_o yet_o this_o be_v but_o the_o begin_n of_o his_o sorrow_n for_o at_o the_o point_n of_o death_n these_o worldly_a grief_n do_v not_o so_o much_o vex_v his_o mind_n as_o the_o fearful_a remembrance_n of_o a_o evil_a life_n past_a the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v call_v to_o a_o account_n the_o ugly_a sight_n of_o hell_n in_o their_o conscience_n and_o the_o intolerable_a pain_n and_o torment_n which_o they_o shall_v hereafter_o suffer_v the_o sorrow_n of_o these_o thing_n at_o the_o very_a instant_n of_o their_o death_n do_v overcome_v the_o grief_n of_o their_o disease_n and_o all_o other_o sorrow_n yea_o and_o hasten_v on_o their_o death_n which_o otherwise_o may_v be_v prolong_v whereas_o the_o godly_a as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o psal_n 142._o rejoice_v and_o sing_v loud_a in_o their_o bed_n have_v a_o quiet_a conscience_n and_o that_o they_o shall_v pass_v unto_o unspeakable_a joy_n from_o this_o vale_n of_o misery_n and_o troublesome_a persecute_v world_n great_o rejoice_v that_o neither_o sin_n nor_o sathan_n nor_o hell_n the_o three_o part_n of_o this_o text_n be_v take_v out_o of_o these_o word_n but_o your_o sorrow_n shall_v be_v turn_v into_o joy_n which_o word_n contain_v a_o remedy_n full_a of_o all_o comfort_n and_o may_v be_v divide_v into_o two_o part_n a_o proposition_n your_o sorrow_n shall_v be_v turn_v into_o joy_n second_o a_o confirmation_n by_o way_n of_o illustration_n draw_v from_o a_o
