heavenly_a substance_n to_o take_v man_n out_o of_o true_o we_o may_v have_v cause_n to_o say_v that_o our_o beginning_n be_v honourable_a and_o thereby_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n shall_v also_o be_v somewhat_o disgrace_v but_o when_o man_n bethink_v they_o of_o dirt_n &_o mire_n who_o will_v regard_v that_o behold_v a_o thing_n that_o import_v reproach_n man_n will_v scarce_o vouchsafe_v too_o already_o therein_o we_o have_v occasion_n too_o acknowledge_v god_n goodness_n power_n â–ª_o and_o wisdom_n so_o much_o the_o better_o and_o cleerely_o you_o see_v then_o that_o when_o man_n behold_v from_o whence_o they_o come_v they_o ought_v to_o cast_v down_o their_o head_n and_o utter_o to_o abase_v themselves_o and_o again_o consider_v who_o they_o be_v and_o to_o what_o state_n and_o degree_n of_o honour_n god_n have_v advance_v they_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v ravish_v unto_o wonder_v and_o to_o magnify_v of_o god_n acknowledge_v themselves_o so_o much_o the_o more_o bind_v too_o he_o for_o that_o he_o have_v take_v they_o out_o of_o so_o base_a and_o despise_v a_o kind_n of_o matter_n have_v notwithstanding_o put_v into_o they_o his_o so_o precious_a high_a and_o noble_a grace_n that_o of_o force_n even_a spite_n of_o their_o tooth_n they_o must_v needs_o confess_v behold_v here_o how_o god_n utter_v himself_o to_o the_o full_a and_o so_o as_o oft_o as_o we_o think_v upon_o ourselves_o let_v these_o two_o thing_n come_v to_o our_o remembrance_n namely_o the_o matter_n where_o of_o we_o be_v make_v that_o the_o same_o may_v rid_v we_o of_o all_o pride_n and_o bereave_v we_o of_o all_o loftiness_n and_o also_o the_o workmanship_n that_o god_n have_v put_v into_o we_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v the_o better_a know_v how_o much_o we_o be_v behold_v and_o indebt_v to_o he_o and_o let_v every_o of_o we_o cry_n alas_o lord_n we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o comprehend_v the_o hundred_o part_n of_o the_o benefit_n which_o thou_o bestow_v upon_o we_o thus_o you_o see_v what_o we_o have_v to_o remember_v for_o the_o first_o place_n and_o hereupon_o it_o behove_v we_o also_o too_o consider_v what_o job_n add_v here_o when_o he_o say_v â–ª_o thou_o have_v pour_v i_o out_o like_a milk_n thou_o have_v fashion_v i_o like_o a_o cheese_n in_o set_v i_o together_o and_o thou_o have_v clothe_v i_o with_o skin_n and_o bone_n true_o his_o phrase_n of_o speech_n seem_v somewhat_o strange_a at_o the_o first_o blush_n and_o how_o so_o have_v the_o holy_a ghost_n no_o fit_a thing_n to_o say_v have_v he_o no_o better_a kind_n of_o speech_n to_o express_v what_o the_o beget_n of_o man_n be_v these_o be_v thing_n that_o seem_v not_o answerable_a nor_o agreeable_a to_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n but_o it_o be_v not_o for_o nought_o that_o job_n speak_v so_o for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v heretofore_o man_n must_v be_v abase_v be_v they_o never_o so_o loath_a or_o else_o they_o will_v always_o be_v so_o puff_v up_o with_o pride_n as_o they_o can_v never_o come_v to_o this_o consideration_n which_o notwithstanding_o be_v needful_a too_o think_v what_o be_v it_o that_o god_n have_v put_v into_o we_o and_o what_o will_v become_v of_o we_o if_o he_o shall_v withdraw_v his_o grace_n and_o quite_o separate_v himself_o from_o we_o man_n will_v never_o come_v so_o far_o but_o by_o force_n and_o therefore_o it_o behove_v we_o too_o be_v bring_v to_o this_o mire_n and_o dirt_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o here_o true_a it_o be_v that_o they_o which_o be_v subtle_a that_o be_v to_o say_v which_o ween_v themselves_o to_o be_v wise_a in_o their_o own_o brain_n will_v take_v exception_n here_o that_o this_o manner_n of_o speech_n too_o their_o seem_n be_v not_o such_o as_o they_o will_v have_v wish_v it_o for_o if_o you_o ask_v the_o philosopher_n they_o will_v speak_v after_o another_o fashion_n but_o god_n know_v what_o can_v edify_v we_o best_o for_o the_o matter_n stand_v not_o upon_o dispute_v of_o subtle_a scholepoynt_n nor_o upon_o make_v of_o we_o philosopher_n but_o upon_o learning_n how_o much_o we_o be_v bind_v unto_o god_n and_o upon_o the_o exercyse_n of_o ourselves_o in_o the_o two_o point_n that_o i_o have_v touch_v which_o be_v that_o on_o the_o one_o side_n we_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a of_o ourselves_o and_o of_o all_o that_o be_v our_o own_o and_o be_v abash_v by_o behold_v what_o our_o own_o nature_n be_v and_o that_o on_o the_o other_o side_n we_o shall_v be_v ravish_v with_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n goodness_n and_o grace_n in_o make_v we_o such_o as_o we_o be_v and_o of_o so_o goodly_a and_o excellent_a a_o workmanship_n this_o i_o say_v be_v the_o thing_n whereunto_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o apply_v our_o endeavour_n and_o not_o to_o be_v curious_a in_o inquire_v by_o piecemeal_o for_o the_o cause_n reason_n and_o mean_n that_o be_v in_o the_o beget_n of_o man_n for_o why_o can_v our_o wit_n attain_v too_o
charge_v to_o have_v conclude_v that_o god_n do_v utter_o root_v out_o man_n when_o he_o take_v they_o out_o of_o the_o world_n job_n i_o say_v make_v no_o such_o final_a conclusion_n but_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o we_o must_v note_v that_o he_o be_v so_o dazzle_v with_o his_o passion_n that_o as_o they_o he_o remember_v not_o that_o man_n continue_v still_o in_o god_n after_o his_o death_n &_o have_v there_o a_o secret_a life_n &_o that_o the_o same_o life_n have_v a_o good_a seed_n so_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v full_o restore_v to_o a_o perfection_n from_o which_o we_o be_v far_o off_o acknowledge_v the_o same_o too_o be_v a_o inestimable_a privilege_n but_o for_o the_o better_a understanding_n of_o this_o lesson_n let_v we_o mark_v first_o that_o although_o man_n be_v immortal_a yet_o they_o have_v it_o not_o of_o their_o own_o strength_n for_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o saint_n paul_n yield_v the_o title_n of_o immortality_n and_o everlastingness_n peculiar_o unto_o god_n and_o what_o shall_v we_o say_v of_o the_o angel_n then_o what_o shall_v we_o say_v of_o man_n be_v they_o mortal_a as_o the_o brute_n beast_n it_o be_v certain_a that_o we_o feel_v well_o how_o god_n breathe_v power_n into_o our_o soul_n you_o see_v then_o that_o we_o have_v this_o spiritual_a life_n from_o else_o where_o and_o as_o it_o be_v do_v borrow_v it_o but_o that_o be_v so_o as_o he_o may_v live_v and_o reign_v in_o we_o if_o we_o have_v this_o once_o it_o be_v the_o chief_a benefit_n wherein_o we_o can_v joy_v but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n god_n work_v after_o a_o strange_a fashion_n and_o unknown_a too_o man_n reason_n for_o let_v we_o consider_v what_o the_o state_n of_o the_o faithful_a be_v during_o their_o life_n in_o this_o world_n they_o be_v not_o only_o set_v in_o like_a state_n with_o the_o unbeliever_n but_o be_v make_v much_o more_o poor_a and_o miserable_a for_o if_o a_o man_n look_v upon_o the_o child_n of_o god_n he_o shall_v find_v that_o they_o be_v afflict_v so_o as_o it_o seem_v that_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v cut_v off_o from_o mankind_n as_o though_o they_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o live_v upon_o the_o earth_n thus_o you_o see_v after_o what_o sort_n god_n suffer_v he_o to_o be_v deal_v withal_o what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v then_o let_v we_o come_v back_o to_o that_o which_o saint_n paul_n say_v to_o the_o colossian_n that_o be_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o be_v dead_a and_o that_o our_o life_n lie_v hide_v in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o god_n will_v show_v it_o in_o due_a time_n and_o by_o this_o we_o see_v a_o goodly_a similitude_n in_o that_o which_o job_n set_v down_o for_o he_o say_v that_o the_o tree_n fade_v at_o the_o come_n of_o winter_n there_o appear_v no_o more_o greenness_n in_o they_o and_o it_o seem_v that_o all_o be_v dead_a when_o the_o leaf_n be_v fall_v off_o and_o the_o tree_n themselves_o frostebitten_a and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o life_n cease_v not_o to_o lie_v hide_v both_o when_o saint_n paul_n speak_v of_o the_o resurrection_n he_o reprove_v man_n for_o their_o beastliness_n because_o they_o consider_v not_o how_o god_n do_v show_v we_o as_o it_o be_v natural_a figure_n of_o the_o resurrection_n by_o the_o grow_a of_o the_o corn_n upon_o the_o earth_n look_v upon_o the_o corn_n that_o be_v in_o the_o barn_n it_o be_v dry_a it_o be_v cast_v into_o the_o ground_n and_o there_o it_o rot_v we_o see_v it_o spring_v up_o again_o and_o for_o one_o grain_n there_o come_v up_o twenty_o or_o thirty_o or_o ten_o see_v then_o that_o god_n renew_v the_o grain_n both_o of_o wheat_n and_o of_o other_o corn_n yea_o and_o that_o even_o by_o rot_v what_o will_v he_o do_v to_o man_n will_v he_o not_o utter_v a_o far_o great_a work_n in_o they_o now_o then_o be_v not_o we_o senseless_a and_o brutish_a when_o we_o perceive_v not_o after_o what_o manner_n god_n work_v to_o confirm_v we_o in_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o life_n that_o he_o have_v promise_v we_o as_o much_o be_v to_o be_v think_v of_o that_o which_o he_o say_v here_o now_o for_o when_o we_o see_v the_o tree_n which_o in_o winter_n time_n be_v dead_a or_o at_o leastwise_o seem_v dead_a become_v fresh_a and_o green_a again_o in_o the_o spring_n time_n we_o must_v be_v confirm_v in_o that_o which_o god_n declare_v unto_o we_o namely_o that_o although_o our_o life_n be_v hide_v and_o we_o be_v here_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o shadow_n of_o death_n yet_o shall_v not_o that_o hinder_v we_o to_o lift_v up_o our_o head_n continual_o and_o look_v for_o the_o resurrection_n that_o he_o have_v promise_v we_o yea_o and_o even_o now_o although_o we_o seem_v dead_a yet_o have_v we_o god_n spirit_n dwell_v in_o we_o which_o be_v a_o sufficient_a warrant_n of_o our_o life_n and_o whensoever_o it_o shall_v please_v god_n
and_o see_v i_o have_v he_o my_o enemy_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o i_o job_n then_o be_v torment_v with_o that_o temptation_n which_o be_v evil_a because_o he_o mark_v how_o god_n be_v so_o against_o he_o but_o yet_o be_v he_o not_o overcome_v and_o although_o the_o battle_n be_v very_o sore_a and_o hard_o for_o he_o to_o endure_v out_o yet_o get_v he_o the_o upper_a hand_n thus_o you_o see_v after_o what_o sort_n we_o must_v take_v this_o sentence_n for_o have_v job_n settle_v in_o that_o opinion_n it_o have_v be_v a_o curse_a blasphemy_n too_o ask_v whether_o man_n shall_v rise_v not_o without_o fight_v it_o behove_v she_o too_o be_v thorough_o exercise_v and_o how_o be_v that_o do_v by_o the_o devil_n cast_v of_o many_o occasion_n of_o unbelief_n and_o misbelief_n in_o our_o way_n thus_o you_o see_v the_o true_a trial_n of_o our_o faith_n job_n then_o must_v not_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o the_o number_n and_o company_n of_o the_o faithful_a for_o be_v so_o assault_v also_o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o he_o do_v not_o alone_o doubt_n but_o also_o be_v so_o carry_v away_o because_o he_o be_v press_v by_o god_n hand_n if_o job_n have_v be_v demand_v whether_o man_n perish_v utter_o by_o die_v he_o will_v have_v answer_v no._n for_o although_o the_o body_n rot_v away_o god_n will_v raise_v it_o again_o and_o the_o soul_n be_v reserve_v till_o the_o last_o day_n at_o which_o time_n we_o shall_v be_v whole_o restore_v job_n will_v sure_o have_v answer_v so_o if_o he_o have_v be_v examine_v of_o death_n in_o general_n but_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o case_n be_v now_o become_v peculiar_a too_o himself_o because_o god_n pinch_v he_o so_o sore_o as_o he_o wot_v not_o where_o to_o become_v insomuch_o as_o it_o seem_v that_o god_n be_v full_o determine_v to_o confound_v and_o overwhelm_v he_o for_o ever_o he_o be_v sore_o dismay_v thereat_o and_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o doubt_n therefore_o let_v we_o mark_v that_o job_n have_v a_o eye_n to_o that_o which_o be_v in_o his_o own_o person_n that_o be_v to_o wit_n to_o god_n rigour_n which_o be_v so_o great_a as_o there_o be_v no_o likelihood_n at_o all_o that_o ever_o he_o shall_v get_v out_o of_o the_o misery_n wherein_o he_o be_v for_o this_o cause_n he_o say_v shall_v the_o man_n that_o be_v dead_a rise_n again_o â–ª_o very_o he_o mean_v of_o death_n in_o case_n as_o when_o god_n utter_v all_o his_o force_n too_o bring_v a_o man_n too_o naught_o and_o what_o be_v that_o it_o be_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v alas_o lord_n it_o seem_v that_o thou_o be_v mind_v too_o bar_v i_o of_o the_o hope_n which_o thou_o haste_v give_v we_o of_o our_o rise_n again_o for_o see_v thou_o handle_v i_o so_o rigorous_o do_v not_o this_o strange_a deal_n which_o thou_o use_v towards_o i_o tend_v too_o the_o utter_a fordoo_n of_o i_o and_o when_o thou_o have_v fordo_v i_o who_o be_v he_o that_o can_v make_v i_o up_o again_o then_o his_o surmise_v be_v not_o that_o god_n will_v put_v he_o over_o too_o a_o further_a time_n but_o that_o he_o will_v utter_o root_n he_o out_o of_o the_o number_n of_o creature_n and_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o he_o demand_v whither_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o come_v to_o life_n again_o when_o he_o be_v once_o dead_a it_o be_v because_o god_n deal_v so_o strange_o with_o he_o as_o it_o may_v seem_v that_o he_o be_v mind_v too_o bring_v he_o utter_o to_o naught_o and_o hereby_o we_o be_v warn_v to_o pray_v god_n to_o handle_v we_o so_o measurable_o as_o we_o may_v always_o have_v the_o hope_n to_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o our_o misery_n shall_v not_o endure_v for_o ever_o but_o that_o god_n will_v remedy_v they_o and_o that_o it_o be_v his_o office_n to_o raze_v they_o out_o of_o their_o grave_n which_o be_v in_o they_o for_o if_o we_o believe_v not_o that_o we_o must_v needs_o fall_v into_o horrible_a despair_n which_o will_v dismay_v we_o as_o we_o see_v it_o have_v happen_v unto_o job_n if_o god_n have_v not_o hold_v he_o up_o by_o strong_a hand_n and_o here_o you_o see_v also_o why_o it_o be_v say_v lord_n chastise_v i_o howbeit_o with_o reason_n not_o that_o god_n be_v at_o any_o time_n unreasonable_a but_o by_o this_o word_n reason_n or_o judgement_n jeremiement_n a_o moderate_a fashion_n agreeable_a to_o our_o infirmity_n when_o we_o be_v not_o tempt_v so_o strong_o but_o we_o may_v always_o perceive_v that_o god_n will_v pity_v we_o in_o the_o end_n and_o remedy_v our_o misery_n thus_o you_o see_v whereof_o we_o be_v admonish_v in_o this_o text_n when_o it_o be_v demand_v whether_o the_o man_n that_o be_v once_o dead_a shall_v live_v again_o as_o touch_v that_o which_o ensue_v namely_o i_o will_v wait_v till_o the_o day_n of_o my_o change_v come_v some_o man_n wheel_n after_o that_o sort_n and_o we_o
admit_v nothing_o else_o but_o only_a god_n will_v to_o rule_v and_o govern_v our_o whole_a life_n howbeit_o that_o be_v not_o all_o that_o we_o have_v to_o do_v for_o it_o be_v to_o no_o purpose_n because_o they_o advance_v themselves_o against_o god_n but_o on_o the_o contraripart_n when_o we_o be_v undo_v and_o strip_v stark_o naked_a then_o will_v god_n show_v we_o the_o favour_n to_o build_v up_o again_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v forsake_v conditional_o that_o we_o go_v not_o about_o it_o with_o vain_a pride_n nor_o presume_v any_o thing_n upon_o ourselves_o but_o desire_v he_o to_o reach_v we_o his_o strong_a hand_n and_o so_o too_o guide_v and_o govern_v we_o always_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o when_o he_o have_v once_o begin_v to_o show_v his_o gracious_a favour_n towards_o we_o he_o will_v continue_v the_o same_o and_o bring_v it_o to_o perfection_n now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o he_o speak_v not_o here_o express_o of_o the_o resurrection_n but_o yet_o these_o word_n can_v be_v expound_v but_o it_o must_v be_v peceyve_v that_o job_n mean_v to_o attribute_v such_o a_o power_n unto_o god_n as_o be_v not_o to_o be_v see_v as_o now_o in_o the_o common_a order_n of_o nature_n therefore_o it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v that_o god_n will_v have_v we_o to_o know_v he_o not_o only_o while_o he_o do_v we_o good_a and_o while_o he_o preserve_v and_o nourish_v we_o but_o also_o although_o he_o fail_v we_o to_o our_o seem_n and_o we_o see_v nothing_o but_o death_n before_o we_o yet_o must_v we_o be_v full_o resolve_v that_o our_o lord_n will_v not_o leave_v to_o be_v our_o keeper_n and_o that_o if_o we_o be_v his_o we_o shall_v be_v maintain_v by_o his_o protection_n howbeit_o the_o better_a to_o profit_v ourselves_o by_o this_o sentence_n let_v we_o weigh_v thorough_o what_o job_n say_v although_o that_o the_o remnant_n of_o i_o say_v he_o be_v and_o power_n of_o our_o god_n in_o all_o the_o benefit_n that_o he_o bestow_v upon_o we_o but_o yet_o must_v we_o not_o stay_v there_o for_o as_o i_o say_v we_o must_v mount_v by_o faith_n above_o all_o thing_n that_o can_v be_v see_v in_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o not_o say_v i_o believe_v in_o god_n because_o he_o maintain_v i_o because_o he_o give_v i_o health_n and_o because_o he_o nourish_v i_o but_o i_o believe_v in_o god_n because_o he_o have_v give_v i_o heretofore_o some_o taste_n of_o his_o goodness_n and_o power_n in_o have_v a_o care_n of_o this_o body_n which_o be_v but_o rottenness_n so_o as_o i_o see_v he_o show_v himself_o a_o father_n in_o that_o i_o have_v a_o be_v through_o the_o power_n of_o his_o spirit_n i_o believe_v in_o he_o alone_o because_o he_o call_v i_o to_o heaven_n and_o have_v not_o create_v i_o as_o a_o ox_n or_o a_o ass_n to_o live_v here_o a_o little_a while_n but_o have_v form_v i_o after_o his_o own_o image_n to_o the_o intent_n i_o shall_v hope_v for_o the_o inheritance_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o son_n i_o believe_v that_o he_o allure_v i_o daily_o thither_o to_o the_o intent_n i_o shall_v not_o doubt_v but_o that_o when_o my_o body_n be_v lay_v in_o the_o grave_n and_o there_o consume_v as_o it_o be_v to_o nothing_o yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o shall_v be_v restore_v again_o at_o the_o lastday_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n my_o soul_n shall_v be_v in_o safe_a and_o sure_a keep_n because_o that_o when_o i_o be_o dead_a god_n will_v have_v it_o in_o rot_v above_o the_o ground_n as_o job_n do_v for_o he_o say_v that_o his_o skin_n be_v wormeaten_v &_o consume_v and_o he_o be_v as_o good_a as_o dead_a and_o yet_o he_o protest_v that_o he_o will_v not_o cease_v look_v unto_o his_o god_n yet_o shall_v we_o not_o cease_v too_o trust_v in_o god_n still_o after_o the_o example_n of_o job._n thus_o you_o see_v that_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o affliction_n that_o god_n send_v we_o shall_v not_o astonish_v we_o so_o we_o have_v learn_v to_o know_v he_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o towards_o we_o as_o he_o be_v indeed_o â–ª_o that_o be_v too_o say_v if_o we_o consider_v well_o to_o what_o end_n he_o have_v create_v we_o and_o still_o maintain_v we_o in_o the_o world_n furthermore_o when_o job_n say_v that_o he_o shall_v see_v his_o redeemer_n in_o his_o flesh_n his_o meaning_n be_v as_o i_o say_v afore_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v restore_v to_o a_o new_a state_n though_o his_o skin_n be_v so_o eat_v as_o it_o be_v for_o he_o say_v express_o that_o his_o bone_n shall_v be_v consume_v and_o nothing_o of_o he_o shall_v remain_v whole_a and_o afterward_o he_o add_v i_o shall_v set_v god_n in_o my_o flesh_n and_o how_o shall_v he_o see_v he_o in_o his_o flesh_n â–ª_o that_o be_v to_o say_v i_o shall_v be_v set_v in_o my_o former_a state_n and_o see_v my_o god_n yet_o again_o and_o so_o he_o confess_v that_o god_n be_v able_a enough_o too_o set_v he_o up_o again_o although_o he_o be_v utter_o consume_v and_o plunge_v into_o a_o bottomless_a pit_n thus_o you_o see_v that_o the_o condition_n whereupon_o we_o must_v trust_v in_o god_n be_v that_o when_o he_o shall_v have_v lay_v we_o in_o our_o grave_n we_o shall_v assure_v ourselves_o that_o he_o will_v reach_v we_o his_o hand_n to_o lift_v we_o out_o again_o therefore_o let_v we_o say_v i_o trust_v in_o god_n because_o i_o see_v he_o assist_v i_o and_o fail_v i_o not_o in_o any_o thing_n but_o when_o god_n fail_v we_o and_o be_v as_o it_o be_v estrange_v from_o we_o let_v we_o even_o then_o say_v with_o job_n i_o shall_v see_v he_o in_o my_o flesh_n as_o now_o i_o be_o nothing_o i_o
and_o by_o this_o mean_v we_o exclude_v the_o whole_a word_n of_o god_n and_o say_v that_o it_o help_v we_o no_o more_o and_o that_o we_o will_v believe_v nothing_o that_o be_v therein_o contain_v but_o that_o we_o will_v believe_v our_o own_o eye_n be_v not_o this_o as_o much_o as_o to_o separate_v ourselves_o from_o god_n and_o too_o estrange_v we_o from_o his_o school_n to_o be_v no_o more_o his_o scholar_n be_v it_o to_o be_v marvel_v if_o after_o this_o man_n become_v so_o mad_a that_o a_o man_n can_v do_v no_o more_o good_a with_o they_o but_o the_o devil_n possess_v they_o and_o carry_v they_o clean_o away_o as_o we_o see_v many_o such_o now_o adays_o no_o we_o must_v not_o marvel_v it_o be_v a_o just_a judgement_n so_o much_o the_o more_o must_v we_o mark_v this_o doctrine_n where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o wicked_a be_v reserve_v to_o the_o day_n of_o his_o destruction_n to_o be_v brief_a when_o we_o see_v the_o wicked_a here_o to_o be_v at_o their_o ease_n and_o prosperity_n and_o to_o triumph_v it_o be_v true_a that_o it_o can_v not_o be_v choose_v but_o we_o must_v be_v tempt_v and_o have_v some_o grief_n inward_o so_o as_o we_o think_v thus_o with_o ourselves_o and_o how_o what_o mean_v this_o that_o god_n be_v idle_a in_o heaven_n and_o seem_v to_o be_v asleep_a and_o care_v not_o for_o thing_n here_o beneath_o there_o may_v indeed_o such_o fantasy_n come_v into_o our_o head_n but_o we_o must_v beat_v they_o back_o and_o say_v well_o lord_n thou_o teach_v i_o that_o i_o shall_v look_v further_o than_o upon_o this_o world_n at_o the_o first_o sight_n it_o will_v seem_v unto_o we_o that_o thou_o be_v asleep_a but_o yet_o it_o be_v clean_a contrary_n for_o in_o as_o much_o as_o we_o see_v there_o be_v another_o judgement_n upon_o the_o wicked_a which_o be_v unknown_a unto_o we_o we_o must_v also_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o everlasting_a rest_n for_o the_o godly_a god_n then_o give_v we_o already_o a_o declaration_n of_o his_o righteousness_n that_o there_o be_v a_o judgement_n reserve_v in_o the_o which_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v reduce_v into_o good_a order_n thus_o must_v we_o take_v some_o profit_n by_o the_o example_n that_o be_v before_o our_o eye_n therefore_o if_o thing_n come_v not_o to_o pass_v as_o we_o will_v have_v they_o so_o as_o the_o wicked_a triumph_n and_o god_n make_v no_o countenance_n to_o punish_v they_o and_o contrariwise_o the_o good_a be_v torment_v and_o we_o perceive_v that_o they_o be_v not_o succour_v nor_o help_v but_o many_o injury_n and_o violence_n be_v commit_v against_o they_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n god_n put_v not_o to_o his_o hand_n to_o provide_v for_o they_o let_v we_o run_v to_o this_o that_o be_v say_v unto_o we_o well_o there_o be_v another_o judgement_n for_o the_o wicked_a be_v reserve_v to_o his_o destruction_n and_o for_o asmuch_o as_o the_o wicked_a at_o this_o day_n be_v spare_v let_v we_o note_v that_o their_o vengeance_n shall_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o horrible_a their_o market_n be_v nothing_o the_o more_o amend_v for_o that_o but_o their_o condemnation_n be_v augment_v every_o day_n more_o and_o more_o and_o why_o the_o time_n be_v dear_o buy_v for_o that_o they_o have_v so_o mock_v at_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n and_o have_v abuse_v his_o wisdom_n and_o continue_v still_o in_o evil_n yea_o and_o harden_v therein_o and_o exercise_v their_o malice_n against_o the_o good_a man_n and_o child_n of_o god_n so_o then_o the_o faithful_a aught_o to_o rejoice_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o sadness_n when_o they_o see_v the_o wicked_a so_o reserve_v to_o the_o day_n of_o their_o destruction_n true_a it_o be_v that_o for_o a_o time_n the_o wicked_a shall_v be_v in_o this_o world_n as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o paradise_n but_o shall_v it_o be_v always_o so_o no_o for_o this_o life_n be_v short_a and_o frail_a and_o they_o must_v needs_o come_v to_o a_o account_n and_o when_o it_o shall_v be_v cast_v in_o their_o tooth_n that_o they_o have_v mock_v with_o god_n &_o despise_v his_o majesty_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o they_o what_o horrible_a vengeance_n shall_v be_v prepare_v for_o they_o let_v we_o then_o conceive_v such_o horror_n of_o the_o final_a state_n and_o condition_n of_o the_o wicked_a that_o we_o may_v be_v stay_v from_o company_v with_o they_o lest_o we_o be_v spot_v with_o their_o vice_n and_o infection_n and_o be_v wrap_v together_o with_o they_o in_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n furthermore_o be_v we_o oppress_v do_v we_o see_v the_o godly_a man_n to_o be_v in_o trouble_n and_o anguish_n well_o let_v we_o know_v it_o to_o be_v true_a that_o our_o life_n be_v miserable_a in_o sight_n but_o it_o be_v to_o make_v we_o go_v forward_o they_o be_v as_o it_o be_v prick_n with_o the_o spur_n for_o to_o encourage_v we_o and_o to_o stir_v we_o up_o too_o the_o behold_n of_o the_o heavenly_a life_n that_o while_o we_o labour_v to_o come_v unto_o it_o we_o may_v contemn_v and_o despise_v all_o those_o thing_n wherein_o the_o wicked_a be_v wont_v to_o delight_n and_o place_v their_o whole_a felicity_n here_o in_o this_o world_n now_o in_o the_o end_n job_n say_v who_o be_v he_o that_o can_v judge_v in_o the_o face_n against_o he_o who_o be_v he_o that_o shall_v pay_v he_o again_o that_o which_o he_o have_v do_v it_o seem_v at_o the_o first_o sight_n that_o he_o speak_v here_o of_o god_n but_o it_o be_v speak_v rather_o of_o the_o wicked_a nevertheless_o it_o tend_v too_o approve_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n and_o to_o show_v that_o the_o wicked_a although_o they_o have_v escape_v the_o hand_n of_o man_n shall_v not_o fail_v but_o come_v before_o the_o heavenly_a judge_n this_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o that_o which_o job_n mean_v to_o say_v so_o than_o although_o the_o wicked_a have_v so_o pass_v their_o life_n as_o no_o man_n dare_v set_v himself_o against_o they_o and_o while_o they_o live_v it_o seem_v that_o they_o be_v exalt_v up_o to_o the_o cloud_n yet_o shall_v they_o not_o fail_v but_o come_v to_o the_o grave_n and_o it_o be_v true_a that_o according_a to_o man_n judgement_n the_o same_o may_v always_o be_v allege_v for_o proof_n of_o the_o temptation_n as_o how_o we_o see_v that_o all_o be_v equal_a but_o job_n here_o conclude_v against_o his_o enemy_n that_o although_o to_o the_o sight_n of_o man_n the_o end_n be_v like_a yet_o there_o be_v a_o judgement_n of_o god_n above_o that_o and_o man_n must_v not_o become_v so_o brutish_a as_o to_o stay_v themselves_o only_o upon_o the_o grave_n and_o upon_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v here_o but_o they_o must_v know_v that_o god_n shall_v so_o restore_v thing_n as_o the_o goat_n shall_v be_v separate_v from_o the_o lamb_n when_o god_n shall_v declare_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o judge_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n but_o the_o time_n be_v not_o yet_o come_v this_o be_v the_o comparison_n that_o job_n make_v here_o now_o again_o he_o repeat_v that_o which_o he_o have_v say_v that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o a_o man_n can_v not_o discern_v between_o they_o both_o by_o the_o outward_a appearance_n and_o why_o this_o be_v the_o man_n that_o will_v be_v glad_a of_o the_o grave_o ground_n but_o it_o be_v that_o his_o body_n may_v be_v bury_v therein_o it_o be_v all_o one_o too_o he_o after_o death_n and_o they_o be_v lay_v both_o together_o in_o the_o grave_n behold_v this_o be_v the_o state_n and_o condition_n of_o mankind_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n that_o they_o bring_v to_o the_o grave_a the_o body_n of_o the_o great_a and_o little_a of_o the_o old_a and_o young_a and_o that_o all_o go_v like_a flock_n of_o sheep_n to_o the_o grave_n so_o then_o by_o the_o outward_a sight_n we_o can_v not_o discern_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n and_o wherefore_o say_v job_n thus_o be_v it_o because_o he_o mind_v to_o make_v a_o confusion_n of_o all_o no_o but_o it_o be_v good_a and_o profitable_a for_o the_o child_n of_o god_n as_o we_o have_v already_o declare_v to_o be_v arm_v long_a time_n before_o against_o the_o temptation_n that_o may_v happen_v unto_o they_o when_o they_o see_v the_o end_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o of_o the_o wicked_a concern_v the_o outward_a appearance_n to_o be_v like_a to_o the_o end_n that_o when_o they_o themselves_o be_v afflict_v they_o may_v call_v upon_o god_n know_v that_o if_o their_o state_n &_o condition_n be_v poor_a and_o miserable_a in_o this_o world_n there_o be_v a_o joy_n prepare_v for_o they_o the_o hope_n whereof_o may_v well_o diminish_v and_o mitigate_v all_o the_o heaviness_n and_o trouble_n that_o may_v happen_v unto_o they_o in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v good_a that_o man_n shall_v

asleep_a in_o their_o sin_n spurn_v such_o forward_a as_o lag_v behind_o and_o raize_v such_o as_o be_v fall_v down_o &_o yet_o there_o be_v one_o thing_n more_o namely_o that_o it_o quicken_v such_o as_o be_v dead_a and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o job_n mean_v to_o show_v when_o he_o say_v of_o who_o be_v the_o spirit_n that_o be_v go_v out_o of_o thou_o that_o be_v too_o say_v in_o the_o power_n mighty_o satan_n have_v bewitch_v they_o but_o howsoever_o the_o world_n go_v we_o ought_v to_o mark_v well_o this_o sentence_n where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o spirit_n ought_v to_o pass_v out_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o can_v call_v upon_o god_n they_o must_v needs_o be_v without_o hope_n of_o mercy_n and_o without_o certainty_n too_o stay_v upon_o and_o always_o in_o fear_n because_o they_o know_v not_o how_o long_o they_o shall_v abide_v in_o that_o plight_n to_o be_v short_a they_o must_v needs_o be_v as_o block_n and_o brute_n beast_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n you_o shall_v see_v the_o faithful_a one_o merry_a even_o inaduersitie_n for_o when_o we_o have_v cast_v our_o eye_n upon_o god_n and_o behold_v his_o fatherly_a countenance_n towards_o we_o this_o only_a say_n xxxiiij_o chapter_n this_o sermon_n be_v yet_o still_o upon_o the._n 14._o and._n 15._o verse_n and_o then_o upon_o the_o text_n which_o be_v add_v 16_o if_o thou_o have_v understanding_n hear_v what_o i_o say_v give_v ear_n unto_o my_o word_n 17_o shall_v he_o govern_v that_o hate_v judgement_n or_o shall_v the_o wicked_a condemn_v he_o that_o be_v righteous_a 18_o will_n a_o man_n say_v to_o a_o king_n thou_o be_v unfaithful_a or_o unto_o prince_n you_o be_v wicked_a 19_o *_o he_o accept_v not_o the_o person_n of_o the_o great_a one_o neither_o regard_v he_o the_o high_a or_o the_o low_a for_o all_o be_v the_o work_n of_o his_o hand_n 20_o all_o shall_v die_v sudden_o and_o at_o midnight_n the_o people_n shall_v be_v take_v away_o and_o perish_v and_o the_o mighty_a shall_v be_v take_v away_o even_o without_o hand_n i_o have_v tell_v you_o heretofore_o that_o man_n be_v here_o put_v in_o mind_n of_o their_o own_o frailty_n to_o the_o end_n they_o shall_v know_v that_o god_n spare_v they_o and_o that_o if_o we_o abide_v but_o one_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n upon_o the_o earth_n we_o ought_v to_o think_v the_o same_o a_o gracious_a turn_n of_o he_o and_o why_o if_o we_o have_v any_o life_n and_o breath_n in_o we_o we_o have_v it_o all_o of_o god_n and_o so_o we_o see_v that_o he_o maintain_v we_o of_o his_o mere_a goodness_n see_v it_o be_v so_o let_v we_o not_o accuse_v he_o of_o too_o great_a rigour_n for_o shall_v he_o not_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o root_v we_o out_o utter_o who_o be_v he_o that_o can_v so_o clear_v himself_o as_o god_n shall_v have_v no_o cause_n too_o punish_v he_o and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o we_o see_v that_o god_n preserve_v the_o world_n &_o every_o of_o we_o be_v keep_v still_o in_o that_o array_n and_o so_o be_v we_o all_o debtor_n to_o his_o mercy_n so_o far_o be_v he_o off_o from_o use_v any_o great_a rigour_n towards_o we_o that_o we_o ought_v rather_o to_o wonder_v at_o his_o patience_n how_o he_o can_v suffer_v such_o iniquity_n and_o not_o thunder_v down_o his_o vengeance_n at_o the_o first_o brunt_n and_o make_v clear_a riddance_n of_o we_o see_v it_o be_v so_o ought_v any_o man_n to_o murmur_v against_o he_o but_o if_o we_o think_v it_o strange_a that_o he_o bear_v with_o other_o man_n he_o may_v well_o reply_v against_o we_o that_o he_o bear_v with_o we_o also_o therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v hereby_o to_o glorify_v god_n continual_o in_o his_o mercy_n no_o less_o than_o in_o his_o power_n for_o although_o he_o be_v almighty_a yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o restrain_v himself_o because_o he_o love_v we_o also_o we_o have_v one_o other_o very_a necessary_a exhortation_n too_o gather_v of_o this_o text_n which_o be_v that_o know_v our_o own_o frailty_n we_o shall_v learn_v to_o put_v our_o life_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o not_o think_v to_o live_v or_o continue_v our_o state_n by_o our_o own_o power_n but_o suffer_v god_n to_o govern_v we_o as_o it_o please_v he_o and_o be_v always_o ready_a too_o depart_v hence_o when_o he_o think_v it_o good_a too_o take_v we_o out_o of_o this_o world_n furthermore_o what_o be_v the_o mean_a to_o live_v well_o it_o be_v to_o know_v that_o insomuch_o as_o god_n possess_v we_o and_o quicken_v we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n it_o be_v good_a reason_n that_o we_o shall_v hold_v all_o of_o he_o too_o the_o end_n to_o be_v give_v whole_o too_o his_o service_n both_o in_o live_v and_o die_v be_v this_o doctrine_n wellprint_v in_o our_o heart_n we_o shall_v not_o be_v such_o dullard_n as_o we_o be_v for_o as_o for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o man_n when_o they_o rise_v in_o the_o morning_n do_v they_o bethink_v they_o too_o put_v themselves_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o if_o they_o do_v it_o for_o fashion_n sake_n be_v it_o for_o that_o they_o be_v touch_v to_o the_o quick_a know_v that_o their_o life_n be_v but_o a_o little_a blast_n of_o wind_n that_o may_v vanish_v away_o in_o the_o turn_n of_o a_o hand_n acknowledge_v they_o that_o no_o so_o much_o the_o more_o than_o behove_v it_o we_o too_o remember_v the_o lesson_n that_o be_v show_v we_o here_o namely_o that_o our_o life_n be_v but_o a_o shadow_n and_o a_o vanity_n and_o therefore_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o put_v ourselves_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o he_o that_o he_o will_v maintain_v we_o according_a too_o his_o good_a pleasure_n and_o also_o take_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n in_o time_n convenient_a but_o as_o we_o be_v counsel_v here_o to_o humble_v ourselves_o and_o to_o challenge_v nothing_o to_o ourselves_o of_o our_o own_o power_n so_o contrariwise_o we_o have_v whereon_o too_o rest_n ourselves_o in_o that_o we_o know_v our_o life_n be_v not_o in_o every_o man_n hand_n but_o in_o the_o only_a hand_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o keeper_n of_o it_o and_o the_o scripture_n say_v express_o that_o if_o he_o withdraw_v his_o spirit_n and_o breath_n we_o die_v all_o so_o long_o then_o as_o god_n will_v preserve_v we_o let_v we_o bold_o defy_v the_o devil_n and_o all_o our_o enemy_n true_a it_o be_v that_o if_o we_o look_v but_o upon_o the_o rage_n of_o man_n it_o shall_v seem_v that_o they_o be_v as_o raven_a wolf_n and_o we_o as_o silly_a sheep_n they_o gape_v with_o open_a throat_n to_o swallow_v we_o up_o but_o yet_o can_v they_o do_v nothing_o to_o we_o till_o god_n give_v they_o leave_v and_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o he_o challenge_v and_o reserve_v too_o himself_o the_o power_n of_o withdraw_v the_o breath_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o therefore_o let_v we_o be_v content_v assure_v ourselves_o that_o god_n hold_v our_o life_n in_o his_o custody_n and_o protection_n until_o he_o listen_v to_o take_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n and_o have_v cause_v we_o to_o finish_v our_o course_n now_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v demand_v here_o whether_o our_o soul_n be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o wind_n see_v it_o be_v say_v that_o we_o shall_v perish_v when_o god_n withdraw_v his_o breath_n let_v we_o mark_v that_o although_o man_n be_v immortal_a yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o have_v not_o that_o of_o themselves_o but_o of_o god_n free_a goodness_n beside_o this_o what_o else_o be_v death_n but_o a_o depart_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o body_n asunder_o god_n then_o withdraw_v his_o breath_n to_o himself_o when_o he_o send_v we_o into_o dust_n and_o rottenness_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o he_o fail_v not_o to_o take_v up_o our_o soul_n and_o to_o keep_v they_o till_o the_o latter_a day_n to_o be_v short_a eliu_fw-mi ment_fw-mi to_o show_v here_o not_o only_o that_o we_o be_v weak_a and_o transitory_a but_o also_o that_o all_o our_o strength_n be_v nothing_o furtherforth_o than_o it_o be_v uphold_n by_o the_o only_a goodness_n of_o god_n and_o when_o he_o undo_v we_o too_o outward_a appearance_n that_o be_v to_o say_v in_o effect_n
